[Machine] "It is in the houses of some of you, so whoever has it in his house, let him burn it or break it." Uthman said: "Again, while he was on the pulpit, O people, I have spoken to you about this dice and I have not seen you removing it. And I had intended to order the gathering of firewood and then send it to the houses of those who have it, and burn it on them."
[Machine] That Abdullah ibn Umar used to say that "Nard is gambling."
[Machine] That Ibn Umar, when he found her with someone from his family, he ordered her to be broken, and he struck her, then he ordered her to be burned with fire.
[Machine] Abdullah bin Umar used to strike and break the dice when he found someone from his family playing with them.
[Machine] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, received information that there were people living in her house who were playing a game of dice. She sent a message to them saying, "If you do not stop playing, I will remove you from my house." She disapproved of their actions.
[Machine] It is called the game of dice and indeed Allah says in His book, "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it." [5:90] The entire verse. And I swear by Allah, I will not give any man who plays with it anything except punishment in his hair and his face, and I will take his belongings from anyone who brings it to me.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by a group of people playing with dice and said, "Hearts are whimsical, hands are working, and tongues are idle. This is a messenger."
66.58 [Machine] Whoever dislikes everything that people play with from haya, which is a piece of wood with engraved lines that they play with, as well as the qirqi and similar games. Imam Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Because playing is not the trade of people of religion or honor.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the most truthful statement ever spoken by poets is: 'Verily, everything without Allah is falsehood.' This is in the poem of al-Bahr al-Taweel. And in another narration by Ghandar on the authority of the Prophet ﷺ ."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am not from those who play, and playing is not from me." Ali ibn al-Madinah asked Abu Ubaydah, the companion of the Arabic language, about this, and he said: "He says, 'I am not from falsehood, and falsehood is not from me.'" The Sheikh said, and Abu Ubaydah Qasim ibn Salam al-Dadd is play and amusement. It was also narrated from Amr from Muttalib from Muawiyah, and this was narrated in a hadith from Abu Zubair from Jabir.
[Machine] "And they were two festivals in which he used to play on the ground, and I saw him in another place on the tenth."
[Machine] I do not care if I played with the cable or washed with pig's blood and then I stood up to pray.
[Machine] And I heard Hammad once say, "He broke it on his head."
[Machine] Al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Whoever plays with anything from this (i.e. Islamic rulings) regarding its permissibility, his testimony is not accepted." The Sheikh, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "This is due to the disagreement in it or in some of it."
[Machine] Regarding prayer, he kept delaying it until he missed it, then he would repeat it until he missed it. We reiterated his testimony about neglecting the prayer times.
Ibn Muhayriz said: A man from Banu Kinanah, named al-Makhdaji, heard a person called AbuMuhammad in Syria, saying: The witr is a duty (wajib). Al-Makhdaji said: So I went to Ubadah ibn as-Samit and informed him. Ubadah said: AbuMuhammad told a lie. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There are five prayers which Allah has prescribed on His servants. If anyone offers them, not losing any of them, and not treating them lightly, Allah guarantees that He will admit him to Paradise. If anyone does not offer them, Allah does not take any responsibility for such a person. He may either punish him or admit him to Paradise. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1420)
66.59 [Machine] What is not prohibited from playing
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me this, or I say to you what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Indeed, Allah admits three people into paradise through a single arrow: the one who crafted it, the one who shot it, and the one who handed it to him. So, shoot and ride (the horse), and if you shoot, it is more beloved to me than riding. There are only three things that discipline a man: training his horse, playing with his wife, and practicing archery. And whoever abandons archery after knowing its benefits, then he has rejected a blessing.' The narration of Al-Walid ibn Mazid, number 20976, informed us Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz and Abu Saeed ibn Abu Amr, they both said: Abu Al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Yaqub narrated to us, narrated by Yahya ibn Abi Talib, informed by Abdul Wahab ibn Ata, informed by Hisham Al-Dastawai, said by Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salam, from Abdullah ibn Yazid Al-Azraq, that Uqbah ibn Amir Al-Juhani said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,' and he mentioned the narration in its meaning. He said, 'And everything that a man indulges in except for shooting his arrows, disciplining his horse, and playing with his wife, is void. For they are from the truth. And whoever abandons archery after knowing its benefits, then he has disbelieved in what he knew.' The Sheikh, may Allah have mercy on him, said like this in my book Abdullah ibn Yazid, and others narrated from Hisham, from Abdullah ibn Zaid Al-Azraq."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Buath (a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar, the Khazraj and the Aus, before Islam). The Prophet ﷺ lay down and turned his face to the other side. Then Abu Bakr came and spoke to me harshly saying, "Musical instruments of Satan near the Prophet ﷺ ?" Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned his face towards him and said, "Leave them." When Abu Bakr became inattentive, I signaled to those girls to go out and they left. It was the day of ʿId, and the Black people were playing with shields and spears; so either I requested the Prophet ﷺ or he asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then the Prophet ﷺ made me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on! O Bani Arfida," till I got tired. The Prophet ﷺ asked me, "Are you satisfied (Is that sufficient for you)?" I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave. (Using translation from Bukhārī 949)
[Machine] Why don't I see you imitating? They used to do it in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Yusuf ibn Addi Al Taqlis narrated that the female slaves and children used to sit on the side of the road, playing with drums and other things. Sheikh (may Allah have mercy on him) said, and Hisham narrated from Al Mughira, but he said that it is from the Sunnah on the two Eids, meaning to play the drums when leaving. And Yazid ibn Harun narrated from Shareek, and Ziyad ibn 'Iyad al-Ash'ari said.
[Machine] There was nothing by the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except I saw him doing everything except one thing that he used to play with on the day of Eid. Amr bin Muhammad narrates from Isra'il who said that he used to play with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Eid, and talqis was a form of play.
66.60 [Machine] It is necessary for a person to not exceed in reciting the Quran, performing voluntary prayers, or engaging in any knowledge that distracts them from prayer until its prescribed time comes. According to Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him), this duty is obligatory for him over all voluntary acts.
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah said, 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge) and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6502)
66.61 [Machine] What came in playing with the girls
[Machine] I used to play with the girls at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and my companions would come to me, and they would be shy of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . She (Anas's sister) said: The Prophet ﷺ would send them to me, so they would play with me. Anas said: They would rush and flee.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived from the Battle of Tabuk, and I had hung a cloak over the door of my room and an Armenian curtain over the width of my house. He entered the house, and when he saw it, he said, "What is this, O Aisha, in this world?" So he tore the curtain until it fell to the ground, and in its negligence, there was another curtain, and a wind blew and uncovered a side of the curtain showing the dolls of Aisha playing. He said, "What is this, O Aisha?" She said, "They are my dolls." He said, "And what is this in their midst?" She said, "It is a horse." He said, "What is on it?" She said, "It has wings." He said, "A horse with wings?" She said, "Have you not heard that Solomon, the son of David, had horses with wings?" He laughed until his molars became visible.

66.62 [Machine] What is in the swings?
Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house at the age of nine. She further said: We went to Medina and I had an attack of fever for a month, and my hair had come down to the earlobes. Umm Ruman (my mother) came to me and I was at that time on a swing along with my playmates. She called me loudly and I went to her and I did not know what she had wanted of me. She took hold of my hand and took me to the door, and I was saying: Ha, ha (as if I was gasping), until the agitation of my heart was over. She took me to a house, where had gathered the women of the Ansar. They all blessed me and wished me good luck and said: May you have share in good. She (my mother) entrusted me to them. They washed my head and embellished me and nothing frightened me. Messenger of Allah (, may peace be upon him) came there in the morning, and I was entrusted to him. (Using translation from Muslim 1422a)

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ married me when I was six years old. When I arrived in Medina, we stayed in the district of Bani al-Harith bin Khazraj. My mother brought me to the Prophet ﷺ , and she was holding me by the hand until we reached the door. I was crying, so she wiped my face with water and left me. Then she brought me into the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and inside the house there were men and women. She said, 'These are your family.' Allah blessed you in them, and He blessed them in you.' The men and women stood up and left, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ built with me a house."

[Machine] Malik Al-Ash'ari, companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Some people from my Ummah will consume alcohol and give it different names, musical instruments will be played on their heads, and there will be female singers among them. Allah will cause the earth to swallow them and turn them into monkeys and pigs. This is supported by the narrations of Ali, Imran ibn Husayn, Abdullah ibn Busr, Sahl ibn Saad, and Anas ibn Malik, as well as Aisha, from the Prophet ﷺ .

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prohibited the consumption of alcohol, gambling, adding fermented milk to fresh milk, and the wild narcotic plant called "Ghubayra". He said that every intoxicating substance is forbidden. Abd al-Hameed ibn Ja'far contradicted him regarding the name of the person who narrated from him, Yazid ibn Abi Habib.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him take his seat in the Hellfire." Then he said, "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have prohibited wine, gambling, al-khubz (bread made from grains), and al-ghubayra (a type of alcoholic drink). And others narrated from Abd al-Hamid, from Yazid, from Amr ibn al-Walid ibn Abdah."

And Al-Qinna (a drink made from honey mixed with water)."
Ibn Wahb informed me, on the authority of Al-Laith ibn Saad and Ibn Lahia, who reported it from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, who reported it from Amr ibn al-Walid ibn Abda, who reported it from Qais ibn Saad. And Qais was the bearer of the Prophet's flag. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "And Al-Ghubayra (a type of date wine) and every intoxicant is forbidden."
Amr ibn al-Walid said, "I heard Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As mention the same, but he did not mention Al-Qinna."

I said, "No." Then he went back to the road and said, "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing." 20998 Abu Ali informed us that Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us that Abu Dawud narrated to us that Mahmoud ibn Khalid narrated to us that my father narrated to us that Mu'tim ibn Al-Miqdam narrated to us from Nafi' that he said, "I was behind Ibn Umar when we passed by a shepherd playing a flute, so he mentioned something similar to this." And Abu Ali informed us that Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us that Abu Dawud narrated to us that Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us that Abdullah ibn Jafar Al-Raqqi narrated to us that Abu Al-Malih narrated to us from Maymun that he said, "I was with Ibn Umar and I heard the sound of a flute, so he mentioned something similar to this."

[Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:90] It is mentioned in the Torah that Allah sent the truth to eliminate falsehood and to abolish play, the flute, the tambourine, stringed instruments, and wind instruments. Ibn Rajaa added in his narration that it also includes images, poetry, and wine. Whoever tastes it swears by his right hand and his honor that he will make him (the one who drinks it) thirsty on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever leaves it after it has been forbidden, I will give him to drink from the pond of al-Quds (Jerusalem). Abu 'Ubayd mentioned that the term 'al-mazahir' is a singular form of 'mizhar' which means the oud (musical instrument) that is struck. And as for the term 'al-kinanat', it is said to refer to the sticks (used for percussion instruments), and it is also said that it refers to tambourines. And as for the term 'al-kubah', it means what is mentioned in another raised narration, and Muhammad bin Kathir informed me that the term 'al-kubah' refers to dice in the dialect of the people of Yemen, and others said it refers to drums. Sheikh [referring to a person, not a translation of the word] said..."

So my Lord has sworn that no servant who fears Me will abandon it except that I will cause them to drink from the pure springs of Paradise. Zaid ibn al-Hubab asked Abu Mawdud, "What are the Mazameer?" He said, "Square drums." So I asked, "What are the Kannarat?" He said, "Cymbals." Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, who heard from Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya, who heard from Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who heard from Abu Ahmad Sha'tham ibn Asil al-Ajli, who dictated it to Jangarooz. Then Zaid ibn al-Hubab mentioned it along with the interpretation.

This is because it is disliked play that resembles falsehood, and whoever does this is attributed to foolishness and immorality. And whoever accepts this for themselves is frivolous, even if it is not clearly forbidden.
[Machine] He is singing in the Hamiriya, call him to sing for us.
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said: "Singing produces hypocrisy in the heart."
[Machine] Singing breeds hypocrisy in the heart as water breeds crops, and remembrance breeds faith in the heart as water breeds crops.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Singing grows hypocrisy in the heart, just as water grows the greenness of vegetables."
