BAYHAQI 20808:
from Iyās b. Muʿāwiyah b. Qurrah al-Muzanī —
[Machine] We were with Umar ibn Abdul Aziz when modesty was mentioned in his presence. They said, "Modesty is part of faith." Umar replied, "Rather, it is the entirety of faith." Iyas then said, "My father narrated to me from my grandfather Qurrah, who said, 'We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when modesty was mentioned in his presence. They asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, is modesty part of faith?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'Rather, it is the entirety of faith.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Modesty is chastity and being articulate is a restraint of the tongue, not of the heart. Action stems from faith, and they increase one's reward in the hereafter while decreasing worldly matters. Moreover, what they increase in the hereafter is far greater than what they increase in this world.'" Iyas ibn Muawiyah said, "Umar ibn Abdul Aziz instructed me to dictate it to him, and he wrote it in his own handwriting. Then he led us in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and he had it in his sleeve, impressed by it."
