[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me this, or I say to you what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Indeed, Allah admits three people into paradise through a single arrow: the one who crafted it, the one who shot it, and the one who handed it to him. So, shoot and ride (the horse), and if you shoot, it is more beloved to me than riding. There are only three things that discipline a man: training his horse, playing with his wife, and practicing archery. And whoever abandons archery after knowing its benefits, then he has rejected a blessing.' The narration of Al-Walid ibn Mazid, number 20976, informed us Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz and Abu Saeed ibn Abu Amr, they both said: Abu Al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Yaqub narrated to us, narrated by Yahya ibn Abi Talib, informed by Abdul Wahab ibn Ata, informed by Hisham Al-Dastawai, said by Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salam, from Abdullah ibn Yazid Al-Azraq, that Uqbah ibn Amir Al-Juhani said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,' and he mentioned the narration in its meaning. He said, 'And everything that a man indulges in except for shooting his arrows, disciplining his horse, and playing with his wife, is void. For they are from the truth. And whoever abandons archery after knowing its benefits, then he has disbelieved in what he knew.' The Sheikh, may Allah have mercy on him, said like this in my book Abdullah ibn Yazid, and others narrated from Hisham, from Abdullah ibn Zaid Al-Azraq."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Buath (a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar, the Khazraj and the Aus, before Islam). The Prophet ﷺ lay down and turned his face to the other side. Then Abu Bakr came and spoke to me harshly saying, "Musical instruments of Satan near the Prophet ﷺ ?" Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned his face towards him and said, "Leave them." When Abu Bakr became inattentive, I signaled to those girls to go out and they left. It was the day of ʿId, and the Black people were playing with shields and spears; so either I requested the Prophet ﷺ or he asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then the Prophet ﷺ made me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on! O Bani Arfida," till I got tired. The Prophet ﷺ asked me, "Are you satisfied (Is that sufficient for you)?" I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave. (Using translation from Bukhārī 949)

[Machine] Why don't I see you imitating? They used to do it in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Yusuf ibn Addi Al Taqlis narrated that the female slaves and children used to sit on the side of the road, playing with drums and other things. Sheikh (may Allah have mercy on him) said, and Hisham narrated from Al Mughira, but he said that it is from the Sunnah on the two Eids, meaning to play the drums when leaving. And Yazid ibn Harun narrated from Shareek, and Ziyad ibn 'Iyad al-Ash'ari said.

[Machine] There was nothing by the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except I saw him doing everything except one thing that he used to play with on the day of Eid. Amr bin Muhammad narrates from Isra'il who said that he used to play with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Eid, and talqis was a form of play.
