The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ said: "I have only been sent to perfect noble character."  

This has been narrated from Al-Darawardi.
البيهقي:٢٠٧٨٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْمَرْوَرُّوذِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ لِأُتَمِّمَ مَكَارِمَ الْأَخْلَاقِ كَذَا رُوِيَ عَنِ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيِّ
