8. Shāmīs (19/26)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, in the fire there are snakes like the necks of camels, which bite with a sting that their mate finds its effect for forty autumns. And verily, in the fire there are scorpions like the size of mules, which bite with a sting that their mate finds its effect for forty years."
"I have not seen anyone who smiled more than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3641)
[Machine] I heard Abdullah ibn Al-Harith ibn Jaz' Al-Zubaidi saying, "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except smiling."
"I am the first one who heard the Prophet say: 'No one among you should urinate facing towards the Qiblah,' and I am the first one who told the people of that." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 317)
8.106 [Machine] Ade bin Umairah Al-Kindi
[Machine] It is said that a man from Hadhramaut named Amr ibn Abis came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a land and passed judgment against the Hadhrami with clear evidence, although there was no evidence against him. He then passed judgment against Amr ibn Qays with an oath, so the Hadhrami said, "If you have any proof against him, O Messenger of Allah, it is gone. By Allah or by the Lord of the Kaaba, I am satisfied." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever takes a false oath to unjustly appropriate his brother's wealth, he will meet Allah while in a state of anger." Amr ibn Qays said, "May I have your hope, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price" [Quran 3:77]. Amr ibn Qays then asked, "What is the reward for the one who leaves it, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Paradise." Amr ibn Qays said, "Then bear witness that I have left it for him in its entirety."

The Prophet ﷺ said: O people, if any of you is put in an administrative post on our behalf and conceals from us a needle or more, he is acting unfaithfully, and will bring it on the Day of Resurrection. A black man from the Ansar, as if I am seeing him, stood and said: Messenger of Allah, take back from me my post. He asked: What is that? He replied: I heard you say such and such. He said: And I say that. If we appoint anyone to an office, he must bring what is connected with it, both little and much. What he is given, he may take, and he must refrain from what is kept away from him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3581)
[Machine] "Adi ibn 'Amirah narrated to me and mentioned the hadith."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever we assign to a task and he mentions its purpose along with us."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying: "Indeed, Allah does not punish the general public for the actions of a few individuals until they witness evil among themselves and are capable of stopping it, but they do not stop it. So when they do that, Allah punishes the general public and the individuals."
[Machine] A narration from al-'Urs ibn 'Amirah came, and this verse was revealed: "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price...” [Al-Imran 3:77] until its end, and I did not memorize it that day due to forgetfulness.
his father said: “The Messenger of Allah said: 'A previously-married woman can speak for herself, and the consent of a virgin is her silence.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1872)
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Whoever we employ among you for a task, and he conceals from us a thread, then he is a thief who will bring it on the Day of Resurrection." So, a man from the Ansar stood up, he was known as Adam the tall, and he said, "There is no need for me in your work." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Why?" He replied, "I heard you just now saying, 'Whoever we employ among you for a task, let him bring both its small and large parts, for if something is taken, it should be brought back, and if it is prohibited, it should be avoided.'"
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah, he said, "Consult with women regarding themselves." They said, "Indeed, a young girl feels shy, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah said, "A divorced woman expresses herself through her speech, and a young girl's acceptance is her silence."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "Indeed, Allah does not punish, so he mentioned the Hadith."
[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ would prostrate, the whiteness of his forearm would be seen. Then, when he finished and said the salutation, he would turn his face to the right until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen. Then he would say the salutation to his left and turn his face until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen on his left.

8.107 [Machine] Muradas Al-Aslami
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The righteous will be taken first, and the first shall remain like the dregs of dates.
[Machine] The righteous are taken one by one until only the remnants of dates or barley are left. Allah does not care about them at all.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The righteous will be taken first, one after another, until only remnants of dates or barley are left and no one will care about them."

8.108 [Machine] My Father, Tha'labah Al-Khushani
[Machine] He asked the Prophet ﷺ about the pots of the people of the Book, so he said: if you do not find any other, then wash and cook. He also asked him about the meat of donkeys, so he prohibited him from that, and from every predator with fangs.
from the Prophet ﷺ [who] said, "Verily, the most beloved of you and closest to me in the Hereafter are those with the best character. The most hateful of you to me and furthest from me in the Hereafter are those with the worst character: the braggarts, the verbose, the loquacious." (Using translation from Ibn Ḥibbān 5557)
"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! We are a people who hunt.' He said: 'If you send your dog and you mentioned the Name of Allah upon it, and he catches something for you, then eat it.' I said: 'Even if he kills it?' He said: 'Even if he kills it.' I said: 'We are a people who shoot (at game).' He said: 'What you catch with your bow, then eat it.'" He said: "Then I said:'Indeed we are a people who travel. We come across Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians, and we do not find vessels other than theirs.' He said: 'If you do not find other than them, then wash them with water, then eat and drink from it.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1464)
[Machine] I heard Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, say that he heard him saying while he was in Fustat during the caliphate of Mu'awiyah. Mu'awiyah was the richest person in Constantinople. He said, "By Allah, this nation will not be defeated in half a day when you see the banquet of a man and his household in Syria. At that moment, Constantinople will be conquered."
[Machine] Idris, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the meat of domestic donkeys and the meat of any animal with fangs from being consumed.
[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would descend to a certain place, the people would set up camp and disperse throughout the mountains and valleys. So, he stood before them and said, 'Indeed, your dispersal in the mountains and valleys is only from Shaytan.' After that, whenever they descended, some of them would join others until you would say, 'If I were to spread a garment over them, it would cover them all.'"
[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, write for me a piece of land in this and this area, a land in Sham (Greater Syria) that has not been exposed to the Prophet ﷺ at that time." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Don't you listen to what this man is saying?" Abu Tha'laba said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, it will appear on that land." So the Prophet ﷺ wrote it for him. Then I said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, our land is a hunting ground, so I send my trained dog and my untrained dog. He said, "When you send your trained dog and name it, whatever it catches will be from your trained dog, even if it killed it. And when you send your untrained dog, and you found its prey dead, then eat it, and whatever it leaves, your arrow will be what it killed. And when you send it, say the name of Allah." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, our land is a land of the People of the Book who eat the meat of swine and drink wine. How should I deal with their utensils and pots?" He said, "If you do not find anything else, then wash it and cook in it and drink from it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is permissible for us of what is forbidden for us?" He said, "Do not eat the meat of domesticated donkeys, nor that of any predator from the wild animals."
The Prophet ﷺ forbade the eating of wild animals having fangs. (Az-Zuhri said: I did not hear this narration except when I went to Sham.) Al-Laith said: Narrated Yunus: I asked Ibn Shihab, "May we perform the ablution with the milk of she-asses or drink it, or drink the bile of wild animals or urine of camels?" He replied, "The Muslims used to treat themselves with that and did not see any harm in it. As for the milk of she-asses, we have learnt that Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the eating of their meat, but we have not received any information whether drinking of their milk is allowed or forbidden." As for the bile of wild animals, Ibn Shihab said, "Abu Idris Al-Khaulani told me that Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the eating of the flesh of every wild beast having fangs . " (Using translation from Bukhārī 5780)
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding all carnivorous animals with fangs.
the Prophet forbade eating any predator that has fangs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4325)
[Machine] I participated with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Battle of Khaybar, and the people were hungry. So, we obtained red camels from among the camels of humans and slaughtered them. Then, I informed the Prophet ﷺ , and he commanded Abdul Rahman ibn Auf to announce to the people that the meat of human camels is prohibited for anyone who witnessed that I am the Messenger of Allah. So, we found onions and garlic in its gardens, and the people were hungry, so they tired and rested. Then, when the smell of the mosque reached them, it was onions and garlic. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever ate from this evil plant shall not come close to us." And he said, "The spoils are not permissible, and the one with canine teeth among the animals is not permissible, and the mutilated ones are not permissible."
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform me of what is permissible for me and what is prohibited for me." The Prophet ﷺ then looked at me and said, "Goodness is what satisfies the soul and puts the heart at ease. Sin is what the soul does not find satisfaction in and the heart does not find tranquility in. And if those who are knowledgeable give you a verdict, do not approach the flesh of domesticated donkeys and the fangs of wild animals."
from the Prophet ﷺ [who] said, "Verily, the most beloved of you and closest to me in the Hereafter are those with the best character. The most hateful of you to me and furthest from me in the Hereafter are those with the worst character: the braggarts, the verbose, the loquacious." (Using translation from Ibn Ḥibbān 5557)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "When you throw your arrow and it stays missing for three nights, then if you find it, everything that is not pierced by it does not require slaughtering."
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform me of what is permissible for me from what is forbidden." He then looked closely at me and straightened himself, then he said, "A Nunyat." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is a Nunyat better or a Nunyat worse?" He said, "Indeed, a Nunyat is better. Do not eat the meat of a domestic donkey or the meat of any predatory animal."
Abu Tha'laba reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited (the eating) of the flesh of domestic asses. (Using translation from Muslim 1936)
[Machine] "I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he looked at me attentively and then focused his gaze on me. He said, 'Do you have a trained dog?' I replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have a trained dog, but is it better to have a trained dog or an untrained one?' He said, 'Rather, it is better to have a trained dog.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we are in a hunting land, so I send my trained dog, and sometimes he catches the game and sometimes he doesn't. And I shoot my arrow, and sometimes I hit the target and sometimes I miss it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whenever your hand, your bow, and your trained dog return to you with their respective shares, then all that you have obtained is lawful and permissible.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw a gold ring on his finger, so he started hitting his hand with a stick he had. The Prophet ﷺ did not notice it, so he took the ring and threw it. The Prophet ﷺ looked for it, but he did not see it on his finger, so he said, "We only show you things that cause you pain and distract you."

That he said: "O Messenger of Allah! We live in a land of the People of Book and we cook in their containers, and drink in their vessels." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If you do not find other than them, then rinse them with water." The he said: "O Messenger of Allah! We live in a land of game, so what should we do ?" He said: "When you send your trained dog, and you mentioned the Name of Allah, and he kills it, then eat it. And when you shoot it with your bow, and it is killed, then eat it.'" [Machine] A man sat with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ holding a golden ring in his hand. The Prophet ﷺ tapped his hand with a stick that was in his hand, then the Prophet ﷺ became distracted and the man threw his ring. The Prophet ﷺ looked at him and said, "Where is your ring?" He replied, "I threw it." Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "I think we have troubled you and caused you inconvenience."

If you can fidn no alternative then wash them and eat from them. With regard to what you say about hunting, whatever you catch with your bow, say the Name of Allah over it and eat. 8.109 [Machine] Sharhabil ibn Hasnah on the Prophet ﷺ
[Machine] He became angry and came while dragging his robe, with his sandal in his hand. He said: "I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and 'Amr bin Jamuh is worse than the donkey of his people, but he is the mercy of your Lord, the supplication of your Prophet, and the demise of the righteous before you."
[Machine] I have indeed accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and 'Amr is more misguided than the camel of his people. It is the call of your Prophet and the mercy of your Lord and the death of the righteous before you, so gather around him and do not separate from him. 'Amr ibn al-'As heard this and said, "He (the Prophet) spoke the truth."
[Machine] Narrated by Shurahbil ibn Hasanah: I have indeed accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Amr is more misguided than the camel of his people. And perhaps Shu'bah said, "More misguided than the she-camel of her people." And he said, "Indeed, it is the mercy of your Lord and the prayer of your Prophet, and the deaths of the righteous before you. So gather together and do not disperse." Amr ibn Al-Aas heard this and said, "He speaks the truth."

[Machine] "In the plague, in the last sermon, the people were gathered and he said, 'Verily, this is a filth like a flood that whoever approaches it, it will harm him. And it is like fire that whoever approaches it, it will burn him. And whoever stays, it will afflict him and hurt him.' Sharhabil ibn Hasana said, 'Verily, this is the mercy of your Lord and the supplication of your Prophet, and the departure of the righteous before you.'"

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and we descended to a land that was covered in thick fog. He said, "So we became affected by it, and we slaughtered (animals for food)." He said, "While the pots were boiling, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said, 'Indeed, a group from the children of Israel has been lost, and I fear that it may be them. So serve them some of it (the food).' So we served it to them."
"The Messenger of Allah came out to us holding a small shield in his hand. He put it down, then he sat down and urinated towards it. Some of the people said: 'Look at him, he urinates like a woman!' The Prophet heard that and said: 'Woe to you! Do you not know what happened to one of the children of Israel? If any urine touched any part of their clothes, they would cut that out with scissors. He told them not to do that, so he was tormented in his grave.'" (Da'if) Another chain with similar wording. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 346)
[Machine] "We marched with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and we were struck by a famine. So we descended upon a land that was covered in fog, and we took from it what we could cook in our pots. We asked the Prophet ﷺ , and he said, 'It could be a people who have been destroyed or transformed, I doubt it is the people of Yajuj and Majuj, but Allah knows best.' So he commanded us to break our pots. Waki' said, 'They have been transformed, and I fear that this is them.' So we broke the pots, and indeed we were hungry."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came out to us and he had a vessel or something similar with him, so he covered himself with it. He urinated while sitting. We said, "Does the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , urinate as a woman does?" He came before us and said, "Don't you know what befell a man from the Children of Israel? When some urine splashed on him, he cleaned it with soil. They were forbidden to do that, so he was punished in his grave."
