[Machine] He became angry and came while dragging his robe, with his sandal in his hand. He said: "I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and 'Amr bin Jamuh is worse than the donkey of his people, but he is the mercy of your Lord, the supplication of your Prophet, and the demise of the righteous before you."  

أحمد:١٧٧٥٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ شَهْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ قَالَلَمَّا وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِالشَّامِ خَطَبَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا الطَّاعُونَ رِجْسٌ فَتَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ فِي هَذِهِ الشِّعَابِ وَفِي هَذِهِ الْأَوْدِيَةِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنَ حَسَنَةَ قَالَ

فَغَضِبَ فَجَاءَ وَهُوَ يَجُرُّ ثَوْبَهُ مُعَلِّقٌ نَعْلَهُ بِيَدِهِ فَقَالَ صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَمْرٌو أَضَلُّ مِنْ حِمَارِ أَهْلِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُ رَحْمَةُ رَبِّكُمْ وَدَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ وَوَفَاةُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ

[Machine] I have indeed accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and 'Amr is more misguided than the camel of his people. It is the call of your Prophet and the mercy of your Lord and the death of the righteous before you, so gather around him and do not separate from him. 'Amr ibn al-'As heard this and said, "He (the Prophet) spoke the truth."  

أحمد:١٧٧٥٤ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ شُفْعَةَ قَالَ وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ فَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ إِنَّهُ رِجْسٌ فَتَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنَ حَسَنَةَ فَقَالَ

لَقَدْ صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَمْرٌو أَضَلُّ مِنْ بَعِيرِ أَهْلِهِ إِنَّهُ دَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُرَبِّكُمْ وَمَوْتُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَاجْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ

[Machine] "Amr lied when he claimed that he accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Amr is more misguided than a stray camel from its people. However, he is a mercy from your Lord and a call from your Prophet ﷺ , and the departure of the righteous before you." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary.  

الحاكم:٥٢٠٧ – أَخْبَرَنِي حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا هَمَّامٌ ثنا قَتَادَةُ وَمَطَرُ الْوَرَّاقُ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ قَالَ وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِالشَّامِ فَخَطَبَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا الطَّاعُونَ رِجْسٌ فَفِرُّوا مِنْهُ فِي الْأَوْدِيَةِ وَالشِّعَابِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ شُرَحْبِيلَ ابْنَ حَسَنَةَ فَقَالَ

«كَذَبَ عَمْرٌو صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَعَمْرٌو أَضَلُّ مِنْ جَمَلِ أَهْلِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُ رَحْمَةُ رَبِّكُمْ وَدَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ وَوَفَاةُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[Machine] Shurahbil ibn Hasana, I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and 'Amr is more misguided than the donkey or the camel of his people. He said, "Indeed, it is the mercy of your Lord and the supplication of your Prophet, and the death of the righteous before you, so gather around him and do not disperse from him."  

ابن حبّان:٢٩٥١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ * شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ شُفْعَةَ * عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ الطَّاعُونَ وَقَعَ بِالشَّامِ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ رِجْزٌ فَتَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ فَقَالَ

شُرَحْبِيلُ بْنُ حَسَنَةَ إِنِّي صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَعَمْرٌو أَضَلُّ مِنْ حِمَارِ أَهْلِهِ أَوْ جَمَلِ أَهْلِهِ وَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا رَحْمَةٌ رَبِّكُمْ وَدَعْوَةٌ نَبِيِّكُمْ وَمَوْتُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَاجْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ»

[Machine] Indeed, this impurity has occurred, so separate from it," Ibn Hasana said, "I have accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was more misguided than a donkey of its owner. "It is only the mercy of your Lord and the call of your Prophet, and the death of the righteous before you, so gather around it and do not separate from it." Umar heard this and said, "He spoke the truth."  

الطبراني:٧٢١٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلِ بْنِ شُفْعَةَ قَالَ وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِالشَّامِ فَقَامَ عَمْرٌو فَقَالَ

إِنَّ هَذَا الرِّجْسَ قَدْ وَقَعَ فَتَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ قَالَ ابْنُ حَسَنَةَ قَدْ صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ أَضَلُّ مِنْ حِمَارِ أَهْلِهِ «إِنَّمَا هِيَ رَحْمَةُ رَبِّكُمْ وَدَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ وَمَوْتُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَاجْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ» فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عَمْرًا فَقَالَ صَدَقَ
