[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah (glory be to Him) said, "I am as My servant thinks of Me, so let him think of Me whatever he wishes."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ «أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي فَلْيَظُنَّ عَبْدِي مَا شَاءَ»  

[Machine] I saw Wahilah ibn Al-Asqa'ah enter the mosque of Damascus and pray in it, then he spat under his left foot and wiped it. When he left, I said to him, "Do you spit in the mosque while you are amongst the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He said, "That is what I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do."  

رَأَيْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ دَخَلَ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ وَبَزَقَ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ عَرَكَهَا فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ لَهُ أَتَبْزُقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَأَنْتَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَعَلَ»  

[Machine] We entered upon Yazid ibn al-Aswad and approached him. Wathilah ibn al-Asqa' also entered upon him. When he looked at him, he extended his hand and wiped his face and chest with it. He had given allegiance to the Messenger of Allah using his hand. Wathilah asked him, "What do you think of your Lord?" He replied, "He is Good." Wathilah then said, "Therefore, rejoice, for I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, 'Indeed, Allah says, "I am as My servant thinks of Me. If he thinks of Me as good, then it is good. And if he thinks of Me as evil, then it is evil."'  

دَخَلْنَا عَلَى يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَائِدِينَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ وَاثِلَةُ بْنُ الْأَسْقَعِ فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ مَدَّ يَدَهُ فَمَسَحَ بِهَا وَجْهَهُ وَصَدْرَهُ وَقَدْ بَايَعَ بِهَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ وَاثِلَةُ كَيْفَ ظَنُّكَ بِرَبِّكَ؟ قَالَ حَسَنٌ قَالَ فَأَبْشِرْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ يَقُولُ «أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي إِنْ خَيْرًا فَخَيْرٌ وَإِنْ شَرًّا فَشَرٌّ»  

[Machine] He said: "I was in the company of twenty men when we were struck by hunger. I was the youngest among them, so they sent me to complain to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about their hunger. I went to his house and he asked, 'Is there anything?' I said, 'Yes, here is a piece of bread and some milk.' He said, 'Bring it to me.' Then he broke the bread into small pieces and poured the milk over it, and held it in his hand until it turned into a large loaf. Then he said, 'O Wathilah, call ten of your companions and leave another ten as a replacement.' So I did as he asked. Then he said, 'Sit in the name of Allah.' They sat down and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the large loaf and said, 'Eat from around it in the name of Allah, for blessings come from above it, and because it extends.' I saw them eating and picking at it with their fingers until they were fully satisfied. When they finished, he said to them, 'Go back to your places and send your companions to me.' I stood there amazed at what I had witnessed. Then the ten companions approached and he ordered them to do the same. They ate until they were fully satisfied. And indeed, there is a virtue in it."  

أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ فِي الصُّفَّةِ وَهُمْ عِشْرُونَ رَجُلًا فَأَصَابَنَا جُوعٌ وَكُنْتُ أَحْدَثَ الْقَوْمَ سِنًّا فَبَعَثُونِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَشْكُو إِلَيْهِ جُوعَهُمْ فَالْتَفَتَ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَقَالَ هَلْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ هَهُنَا كِسْرَةٌ وَشَيْءٌ مِنْ لَبَنٍ قَالَ «ائْتِنِي بِهِ» فَفَتَّ الْكِسْرَةَ فَتًّا رَقِيقًا ثُمَّ صَبَّ عَلَيْهَا اللَّبَنَ ثُمَّ حَمَلَهُ بِيَدِهِ حَتَّى جَعَلَهُ كالثريدِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا وَاثِلَةُ ادْعُ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ وَخَلِّفْ عَشَرَةً» فَفَعَلْتُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اجْلِسُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ» فَجَلَسُوا فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِرَأْسِ الثَّرِيدِ وَقَالَ «كُلُوا مِنْ حَوَالَيْهَا بِسْمِ اللهِ إِنَّ الْبَرَكَةَ تَأْتِيهَا مِنْ فَوْقِهَا وَلِأَنَّهَا تُمَدُّ» قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُمْ يَأْكُلُونَ يَتَخَلَّلُونَ أَصَابِعَهُمْ حَتَّى ثَمِلُوا شِبَعًا فَلَمَّا انْتَهَوْا قَالَ لَهُمْ «انْصَرَفُوا إِلَى مَكَانِكُمْ فَابْعَثُوا إِلَيَّ أَصْحَابَكُمْ» فَقُمْتُ مُتَعَجِّبًا لِمَا رَأَيْتُ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَى الْعَشَرَةِ فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى ثَمِلُوا شِبَعًا وَإِنَّ فِيهَا لَفَضْلَةً  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was approached by a group of the Banu Sulaym tribe and they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we participate in battles and we separate [the captives] from them." He said, "Indeed, you do so." They said, "Yes." He said, "There is no soul that Allah intends to bring forth from the loins of a man except that it is brought forth. If He wills, and if He does not will, then it is not upon you to do so."  

أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبَايَا وَإِنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَنْهُنَّ قَالَ «وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ» قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ أَرَادَ اللهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ مِنْ صُلْبِ رَجُلٍ إِلَّا وَهِي خَارِجَةٌ إِنْ شَاءَ وَإِنْ أَبَى فَلَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The most despicable of people is the one who falsely claims to be someone's father, or lies about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , or lies about what he has seen."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أَفْرَى الْفِرَى مَنِ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ أَوْ كَذَبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَوْ كَذَبَ عَلَى عَيْنَيْهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever goes to a fortune-teller and asks him about something, his prayers will not be accepted for forty nights. If he believes in what the fortune-teller said, then he has disbelieved in what Allah has revealed."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَأْتِي كَاهِنًا فَيَسْأَلُهُ إِلَّا حُجِبَتْ مِنْهُ التَّوْبَةُ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً فَإِنْ هُوَ آمَنَ بِمَا يَقُولُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ»  

[Machine] I met with Wahilah bin Al-Asqa, and I said to him, "Did you pledge allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with this hand?" He replied, "Yes." I then said, "Give me your hand so that I may kiss it." He gave me his hand, and I kissed it.  

لَقِيتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ فَقُلْتُ بَايَعْتَ بِيَدِكَ هَذِهِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَقُلْتُ أَعْطِنِي يَدَكَ أُقَبِّلُهَا فَأَعْطَانِيهَا فَقَبَّلْتُهَا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever has three children and does not name one of them Muhammad is ignorant."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ وُلِدَ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَوْلَادٍ لَمْ يُسَمِّ أَحَدَهُمْ مُحَمَّدًا فَقَدْ جَهِلَ»  

[Machine] A man entered the mosque and the Prophet ﷺ was alone in it. The man approached him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, surely the place is spacious." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Indeed, the Muslim has rights."  

دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ الْمَسْجِدَ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِيهِ وَحْدَهُ فَتَزَحْزَحَ لَهُ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ الْمَكَانَ وَاسِعٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ لِلْمُسْلِمْ حَقًّا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young ones and does not respect our elderly."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا وَيُجِلُّ كَبِيرِنَا»  

[Machine] "I went out, desiring Ali. It was said to me that he was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I headed towards him. I found them in a enclosure made of palm branches, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain were gathered together under a blanket. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Allah, surely You have made Your prayers, mercy, forgiveness, and satisfaction upon me and upon them.'"  

خَرَجْتُ أَنَا أُرِيدُ عَلِيًّا فَقِيلَ لِي هُوَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَجِدُهُمْ فِي حَظِيرَةٍ مِنْ قَصَبٍ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلِيٌّ وَفَاطِمَةُ وَحَسَنٌ وَحُسَيْنٌ قَدْ جَمَعَهُمْ تَحْتَ ثَوْبٍ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنَّكَ جَعَلْتَ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَرَحْمَتَكَ وَمَغْفِرَتَكَ ورِضْوَانَكَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَيْهِمْ»  

[Machine] I heard my father say, "{Indeed, successful is he who purifies himself and mentions the name of his Lord and prays.}" Throwing the wheat on the day of Eid before the prayer in the prayer area.  

سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ {قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى} إِلْقَاءُ الْقَمْحِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الْمُصَلَّى  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Dhuhr (noon) prayer in Makkah as two rak'ahs, similar to the prayer performed by a traveler.  

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ بِمَكَّةَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ صَلَاةَ الْمُسَافِرِ»  

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ performed two units (rak'ahs) of the Dhuhr prayer in Al-Bat-ha, then he walked and performed two units (rak'ahs) of the Asr prayer until he reached Madinah and completed it."  

«صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَارَ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَتَمَّ»  

[Machine] "I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ in Al-Abtah and the Prophet ﷺ was in a dome made of clay. He performed ablution with a handful of pebbles, then Bilal came by his virtue and led the Duhr and Asr prayers. The man, the woman, and the donkey would pass behind the Sutrah in front of him."  

«صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِالْأَبْطَحِ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي قُبَّةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ تَوْرِ حِجَارَةٍ فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ بِفَضْلِهِ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمَارُ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحَرْبَةِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah the Almighty said, "I am as My servant thinks of Me. If he thinks good of Me, then he will have good, and if he thinks evil of Me, then he will have evil."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي إِنْ ظَنَّ خَيْرًا وَإِنْ ظَنَّ شَرًّا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Allah says, 'I am as my servant thinks (expects) I am. So let him think of Me whatever he wishes.'"  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ «أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي فَلْيَظُنَّ بِي مَا شَاءَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, in which Allah's worshipers pray, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise better than it."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا يُصَلَّى فِيهِ بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say in his prayer for a Muslim man, "O Allah, indeed so-and-so is under Your protection and the rope of Your provision. Protect him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the Fire. Indeed, You are the trustworthy and the truthful. O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him. Indeed, You are the Forgiving, the Merciful."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ «اللهُمَّ إِنَّ فُلَانًا فِي ذِمَّتَكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهْ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ إِنَّكَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "It is not permissible for anyone to sell something without disclosing its contents."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِأَحَدٍ بَيْعُ شَيْءٍ لَا يَبِينُ مَا فِيهِ»  

[Machine] We came to Wathilah bin Al-Asqa'ah, companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and we asked him to narrate to us a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that doesn't have any additions or subtractions. He became angry and said, "One of you may recite from his Mushaf that is hanging in his house and he may increase or decrease from it." So we said, "We only intended for you to narrate to us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ without any intermediary." He said, "We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding a companion of ours who had become mandatory (to free). So he said, 'Free him, for Allah will free every part of him from the Fire for every part of him that exists.'" This is how Ibn Ayyub Al-Alafi narrated to us from Mahdi bin Ja'far from Dhamrah from Al-Awza'i from Ibrahim bin Abi 'Abalah from the original source of his book.  

أَتَيْنَا وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْنَا حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِحَدِيثٍ لَيْسَ فِيهِ زِيَادَةٌ وَلَا نُقْصَانٌ فَغَضِبَ وَقَالَ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَقْرَأُ وَمُصْحَفُهُ مُعَلَّقٌ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَيَزِيدُ وَيَنْقُصُ فَقُلْنَا إِنَّمَا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ تُحَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ أَحَدٌ قَالَ أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَاحِبٍ لَنَا قَدْ أَوْجَبَ فَقَالَ «أَعْتِقُوا عَنْهُ يَعْتِقُ اللهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهُ عُضْوًا مِنَ النَّارِ» هَكَذَا حَدَّثَنَاهُ ابْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ عَنْ مَهْدِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ مِنْ أَصْلِ كِتَابِهِ  

[Machine] We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Tabuk expedition, and some individuals from the Banu Sulaym came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have a companion who owes a debt." He ﷺ said, "Then let him free himself from it, for Allah will burn with Hellfire every limb of his body for each limb he owes."  

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةِ تَبُوكَ فَجَاءَ نَاسٌ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ صَاحِبًا لَنَا قَدْ أَوْجَبَ قَالَ «فَلْيُعْتَقْ عَنْهُ رَقَبَةٌ يَفُكُّ اللهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهُ عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] A group of the Banu Sulaym came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Indeed, we have a companion who owes us a debt." He ﷺ said, "Then let him set a slave free, for indeed Allah will release him from every limb of that slave, a limb from the Fire."  

أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ أَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ صَاحِبًا لَنَا قَدْ أَوْجَبَ قَالَ «فَلْيُعْتَقْ عَنْهُ رَقَبَةٌ يَفُكُّ اللهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who has committed a major sin?" meaning the Hellfire. He replied, "He will be punished in Hell, but if he sincerely repents, his repentance will free him from the punishment of every limb that sinned."  

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا تَقُولُ فِي رَجُلٍ قَدْ أَوْجَبَ؟ يَعْنِي النَّارَ فَقَالَ «يَعْتِقُ رَقَبَةً فَإِنَّهُ يَفْدِي كُلُّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] The son of Rayyan passed away and Wasila witnessed it. After they left the cemetery, Wasila sat by the gate of Damascus. Rayyan passed by him and Wasila said to him, "O Abu Sa'id, may Allah alleviate your calamity and forgive your deceased." He replied, "Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever buries three children, Allah will make Paradise forbidden for him.'"  

تُوُفِّيَ وَلَدُ الرَّيَّانِ وَشَهِدَهُ وَاثِلَةُ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفُوا مِنَ الْمَقْبَرَةِ قَعَدَ وَاثِلَةُ عَلَى بَابِ دِمَشْقَ فَمَرَّ بِهِ الرَّيَّانُ فَقَالَ لَهُ وَاثِلَةُ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ جَبَرَ اللهُ مُصِيبَتَكَ وَغَفَرَ لِمُتَوَّفَاكَ قَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ دَفَنَ ثَلَاثَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ حَرَّمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ النَّارَ»  

[Machine] My father used to sit facing the qibla and wouldn't speak until the sun rose after he prayed Fajr. Sometimes I would speak to him about a need, but he wouldn't respond. So, I asked him, "What is this?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever prays Fajr and then recites 'Say: He is Allah, the One' one hundred times before speaking, every time he recites it, one year's worth of sins will be forgiven for him.'"  

كَانَ أَبِي إِذَا صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ جَلَسَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ لَا يَتَكَلَّمُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَرُبَّمَا كَلَّمْتُهُ فِي الْحَاجَةِ فَلَا يُكَلِّمُنِي فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ مِائَةَ مَرَّةً قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ فَكُلَّمَا قَرَأَ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُ سَنَةٍ»  

[Machine] He used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays and he would say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast them and he would say, "Deeds are presented to Allah on these days, so I love that my deeds are presented while I am fasting."  

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ وَيَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُومُهُمَا وَيَقُولُ «تُعْرَضُ فِيهِمَا الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Gold and silk are permissible for the women of my Ummah (community), but forbidden for the men of my Ummah."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الذَّهَبُ وَالْحَرِيرُ حِلٌّ لِإِنَاثِ أُمَّتِي حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is a person who loves his people a nationalist?" He said, "No." I asked, "Then who is a nationalist?" He said, "The one who aids his people in wrongdoing."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ قَوْمَهُ أَعَصِبِيٌّ هُوَ؟ قَالَ «لَا» قُلْتُ مَنَ الْعَصَبِيُّ؟ قَالَ «الَّذِي يُعِينُ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى الظُّلْمِ»  

I asked: Messenger of Allah! what is party spirit? He replied: That you should help your people in wrongdoing. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5119)  

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ أَبَاهَا يَقُولُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الْعَصَبِيَّةُ؟ قَالَ «أَنْ تُعِينَ قَوْمَكَ عَلَى الظُّلْمِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Verily, one of the greatest sins is for a man to say about me what I have not said."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ أَنْ يَقُولَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ»  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "One of the greatest sins is for a man to disown his own child."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ أَنْ يَنْتَفِيَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ»  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform the Asr prayer with two units of prayer on the flat ground.  

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى بِالْأَبْطَحِ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ»  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed at al-Abtah in front of him was a goat or something similar to a goat, and the pathway behind it and the people passing by."  

«صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْأَبْطَحِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ أَوْ شَبِيهٌ بِالْعَنَزَةِ وَالطَّرِيقُ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا وَالْمَارَّةُ»  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ "prayed at Al-'Anaza and the road behind it"  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «صَلَّى إِلَى الْعَنَزَةِ وَالطَّرِيقُ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا»  

[Machine] When Ja'far arrived to the Messenger of Allah from the land of Abyssinia, he greeted the Messenger of Allah between his eyes, then he said, "I do not know whether I should embrace Ja'far's arrival with joy or the conquest of Khaibar."  

لَمَّا قَدِمَ جَعْفَرٌ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ قَبَّلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَا بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَا أَدْرِي أَنَا بِقُدُومِ جَعْفَرٍ أُسَرُّ أَوْ بِفَتْحِ خَيْبَرَ»  

[Machine] That Bilal used to give the call to prayer for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with two voices.  

أَنَّ بِلَالًا كَانَ «يُؤَذِّنُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِصَوْتَيْنِ صَوْتَيْنِ»  

[Machine] Bilal, the caller to prayer, called the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Mina, repeating "Mithna, Mithna" and then he stood repeating "Mithna, Mithna."  

«أَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِمِنًى مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَأَقَامَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى»  

[Machine] "We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the prayer was about to begin. Bilal stood up and gave the call to prayer. He placed his fingers in his ears and turned around. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions performed ablution. He excelled in using water, so we hurried to benefit from his surplus. Then, he brought a goat and milked it. He stood up for prayer and prayed the Dhuhr prayer, two units, and the Asr prayer, two units. Then, he said, 'When I have arrived in Medina, come and visit me.' And the Prophet ﷺ had something which he used to give us, and Abu Bakr handed it to us."  

أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَقَامَ بِلَالٌ فَأَذَّنَ فَجَعَلَ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ يَسْتَدِيرُ وَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ فَفَضَلَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَضْلَةٌ فَجَعَلْنَا نَبْتَدِرُ فَضْلَهُ ثُمَّ أخْرَجَ عَنَزَةً فَرَكَزَهَا وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِذَا قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَأْتُونِي وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ جَعَلَ لَنَا شَيْئًا يُعْطِيَنَا فَسَلَّمَهُ لَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ »  

[Machine] I saw Bilal giving the call to prayer and spinning, so I followed him with my eyes moving here and there, and his fingers in his ears. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in his red dome. Bilal came out with the female goat in front of him and slaughtered it in the courtyard. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Zuhr and Asr together. He passed by a dog, a donkey, and a woman, and he was wearing a red mantle, as if I were seeing the brightness of his legs.  

رَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيَدُورُ فَأَتَتَبَّعُ فَاهُ هَهُنَا وَهَهُنَا وَأُصْبُعَاهُ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ قَالَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي قُبَّةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءُ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْعَنَزَةُ فَرَكَزَهَا فِي الْأَبْطَحِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَيْهَا الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ لَهُ حَمْرَاءُ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ  

[Machine] "I came to the Prophet ﷺ at the plateau and Bilal came out and called the adhan. It was as if I was looking at him, and I followed his pronunciations with his mouth. He then took out some water and performed wudu, covering both his limbs completely. He wiped his face and arms, then proceeded to wash his ankles. He then walked towards 'Anaza' and urinated. When he came out, I noticed that he had a red garment on, and it was as if I was looking at the shining of his legs. He performed the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, two units each, until he returned."  

«أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ الْأَبْطَحَ فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ فَأَذَّنَ فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَتَتَبَّعُ فَاهُ هَهُنَا وَهَهُنَا يَعْنِي يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا وَأَخْرَجَ فَضْلَ وَضُوئِهِ فَبَيْنَ نَائِلٍ وَنَاضِحٍ فَرَكَزَ عَنَزَةً فَخَرَجَ وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى رَجَعَ»  

[Machine] "That Bilal had brought out the remaining water and ablution of the Prophet ﷺ, and the people were rushing to benefit from it, to the point where even the children were putting their hands under the armpits of the people to be sprinkled."  

«أَنَّ بِلَالًا أَخْرَجَ فَضْلَ وَضُوءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ مِنْ نَائِلٍ وَنَاضِحٍ حَتَّى جَعَلَ الصَّبِيُّ يُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ تَحْتَ آبَاطِ الْقَوْمِ يَتَصَبَّبُ»  

[Machine] "I performed two units of prayer with the Prophet ﷺ in Mina, then he continued to perform two units of prayer until he returned to Medina."  

«صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِمِنًى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلْ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ»  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I do not take my meals while leaning (against something). (Using translation from Bukhārī 5398)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا آكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا»  

[Machine] Bilal went out and settled a dispute between two goats. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then offered the prayer and a donkey and a dog passed in front of him. Bilal came out by the grace and light of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Al-Humaidi added in his narration, "and the woman."  

«خَرَجَ بِلَالٌ فَرَكَزَ عَنَزَةً فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْحِمَارُ وَالْكَلْبُ وَخَرَجَ بِفَضْلِ وَضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ» وَزَادَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَالْمَرْأَةُ  

[Machine] "I paid to the Prophet ﷺ with some dried dates in a dome. Bilal came out and called for the prayer, then Bilal came in and brought out the female goat. The Prophet ﷺ came out, milked the goat, and performed the prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for us while a donkey and a woman passed by in front of him."  

«دَفَعْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِالْأَبْطَحِ فِي قُبَّةٍ فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ فَنَادَى بِالصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ بِلَالٌ فَأَخْرَجَ الْعَنَزَةَ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَرَكَزَ الْعَنَزَةَ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ فَصَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ»  

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Abu Bakr and 'Umar are the leaders of the mature people of Paradise, the first and the last, except for the Prophets and the Messengers.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 100)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ سَيِّدَا كُهُولِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْأَخِرِينَ مَا خَلَا النَّبِيِّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ»  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed at al-Bat'ha and in front of him was a she-goat, and behind him passed a dog, a donkey, and a woman.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَّى بِالْبَطْحَاءِ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ فَجَعَلَ يَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ»  

[Machine] Bilal allowed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to go to Bat'ha, and he put his fingers in his ears and started to turn around.  

أَنَّ بِلَالًا «أَذِنَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ فَجَعَلَ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ يَسْتَدِيرُ»
