Rafi bin Khadij and Sahl Bi Abi Hathamah narrated that the Messenger of Allah forbade Muzabanah, which means selling fresh dates still on the tree for dried dates, except in cases of 'Araya, for which he gave permission. (Sahih (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4543)
My grandfather, Rafiʿ bin Khadij said, "We were in the valley of Dhul-Hulaifa of Tuhama in the company of the Prophet ﷺ and had some camels and sheep (of the booty). The people hurried (in slaughtering the animals) and put their meat in the pots and started cooking. Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and ordered them to upset the pots, and distributed the booty considering one camel as equal to ten sheep. One of the camels fled and the people had only a few horses, so they got worried. (The camel was chased and) a man slopped the camel by throwing an arrow at it. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Some of these animals are untamed like wild animals, so if anyone of them went out of your control, then you should treat it as you have done now.' " My grandfather said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! We fear that we may meet our enemy tomorrow and we have no knives, could we slaughter the animals with reeds?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes, or you can use what would make blood flow (slaughter) and you can eat what is slaughtered and the Name of Allah is mentioned at the time of slaughtering. But don't use teeth or fingernails (in slaughtering). I will tell you why, as for teeth, they are bones, and fingernails are used by Ethiopians for slaughtering. (See Hadith 668) (Using translation from Bukhārī 2507)
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ forbade renting land with silver coins that are clipped or with a third or a fourth.
[Machine] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, which earnings are the best?" He said, "The earnings of a man made by his own hand and every sale that is lawful."
Fever is from the vehement raging of the Hell-fire, so cool it with water. (Using translation from Muslim 2210a)
[Machine] Regarding renting the land, I said, "I have land, can I rent it?" So Rafa'ah said, "Do not rent it for anything, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever has land, let him cultivate it. And if he does not cultivate it, let him give it to his brother. And if he does not do so, then leave it." I asked him, "What if I leave it and someone cultivates it, and then he sends me some straw?" He said, "Do not take anything from him, neither straw nor anything else." I said, "But I did not stipulate anything with him, he just gave me something as a gift." He said, "Do not take anything from him at all."
[Machine] "When his grandfather died, he left behind a slave girl, a young boy skilled in cupping, and some land. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commented on the slave girl, forbidding the earning from her. Shu'bah (one of the narrators) mentioned his fear that she might commit sin. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then mentioned that whatever the cupper earns, let him support the young boy. He also said regarding the land, 'cultivate it or give it as a gift.'"
The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone sows in other people's land without their permission, he has no right to any of the crop, but he may have what it cost him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3403)
The price of a dog is evil, the earning of a prostitute is evil and the earning of a cupper is evil. (Using translation from Muslim 1568b)
[Machine] The following passage translates to: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned Mecca and said: 'Indeed, Ibrahim made Mecca forbidden, and indeed, I make what is between its two mountains (the area of Hajj) forbidden.'"
[Machine] Indeed, if Mecca is considered sacred, then Medina is also sacred, as declared by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and it is written with us in our ancient texts. If you wish, we can recite it to you. So Marwan called him and said, "Yes, we have received this information."
Ibrahim declared Mecca as sacred and I declare sacred the area between its two stony grounds (lava lands by which he meant Medina). (Using translation from Muslim 1361a)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a red mark, and he hated it. So, when Rifa'ah bin Khadeejah died, they placed a red blanket on his bed, which amazed the people.
[Machine] We used to pray the Asr prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then we would slaughter the animals. They would be divided into ten parts and cooked, and we would eat the cooked meat before the sun sets. He said, "And we used to pray the Maghrib prayer during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . After that, one of us would leave and he would look at his noble standing places."
[Machine] Muhaissah and Huwaissah, the sons of Mas'ud, came, and Abdulrahman bin Sahl, the brother of the deceased, came. They were the youngest among them. So they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and spoke. The one who was most entitled to the blood spoke first. Both of them were eloquent in their speech. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Magnify the magnification." So they spoke about the matter of their companion. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Swear by fifty of you, your companion or your slain." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is a matter we have not witnessed, so how can we swear?" He said, "You are acquitted by the oath of fifty Jews among them." They said, "They are disbelievers." He said, "May Allah curse them." I (the narrator) went inside their tents, and a camel from those camels which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had given to them with his own hand ran after me.
This tradition has also been narrated on the authority of ‘A’ishah through a different chain. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 99)
"My paternal uncle told me that they used to lease land at the time of the Messenger of Allah in return for what grew on the banks of the streams, and a share of the crop stipulated by the owner of the land. But the Messenger of Allah forbade us that." I (Hanzalah) said to Rafi': "How about leasing it in return for Dinars and Dirhams?" Rafi' said: "There is nothing wrong with (leasing it) for Dinars and Dirhams." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3898)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wear the garment of dawn, for it is the greatest of rewards, or for its reward."
[Machine] "We used to inform without seeing any harm in it until Rāfi' claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade it, so we left it."

[Machine] He informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command the delay of this prayer. I said, "Who is this sheikh?" They said, "This is Abdullah ibn Rafi ibn Khadij."
Messenger of Allah, we are going to encounter the enemy tomorrow, but we have no knives with us. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Make haste or be careful (in making arrangements for procuring knives) which would let the blood flow (and along with it) the name of Allah is also to be recited. Then eat, but not the tooth or nail. And I am going to tell you why it is not permissible to slaughter the animal with the help of tooth and bone; and as for the nail. it is a bone, and the bone is the knife of Abyssinians. He (the narrator) said: There fell to our lot as spoils of war camels and goats, and one of the camels among them became wild. A person (amongst usl struck It with an arrow which brought it under control. whereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This camel became wild like wild animals, so if you find any animal getting wild, you do the same with that (Using translation from Muslim 1968a)

[Machine] "People used to rent farms during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with crops and a portion of the straw. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked renting farms in this manner and prohibited it. Rafa' reported that there is no harm in renting them with coins and silver."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called me while I was on my wife's lap, so I got up without ejaculating. Then, I performed the ablution and went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I informed him that he had called me while I was on my wife's lap, and I got up without ejaculating. So, I performed the ablution. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You do not need to perform ghusl (ritual bathing) as the water is from the water." He ﷺ raised his hands, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to perform ghusl after that.

He said, "He prohibited us from covering our fields, meaning our lands with water or from using jadwal and asawa' (types of irrigation)." I said, "Which obedience to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is more deserving?" He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Why do you cover them?'" I said, "So shall we not cultivate them or sow them?" He said, "You may cultivate them, but do not cover them with water." Abdullah said, "Then I asked my father about the statements of Rafi' ibn Khadeej, sometimes he would say that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited us, and sometimes he would say it was about his uncles. He said, 'All of them are authentic, but the most beloved to me is the hadith of Ayub, the hadith of 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir Al-Juhani from the Prophet ﷺ .'"

[Machine] About that Prophet, ﷺ , he said to her: "Command her to ride." So, he assumed that she didn't understand him. When those who were with him left, he returned and asked her. He said to her: "Command her to ride, for indeed Allah, the Almighty, Himself will avenge your sister."
