8. Shāmīs (3/26)
[Machine] "And I heard him say, 'There will always be a group from my nation who will be upon the truth, unaffected by those who oppose them, until the command of Allah comes while they are still in that state among the people.'"
I offered the Friday prayer along with him in enclosure. When I uttered the salutation I stood up in my place and prayed. When he went in, he sent me a message saying: Never again do what you have done. When you pray the Friday prayer, you must not join another prayer to it till you have engaged in conversation or gone out, for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ gave the precise command not to join on prayer till you have engaged in conversation or gone out. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1129)
You offer a prayer which I did not see being offered by Messenger of Allah ﷺ when we were in his company and he certainly had forbidden it (i.e. two rakʿat after the ʿAsr prayer). (Using translation from Bukhārī 587)
[Machine] "He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever forgets something from his prayer, let him perform two prostrations while sitting.'"
‘Whoever lies upon me intentionally, then let him take his seat in the Fire’. (Using translation from Muslim 3)
Mu'awiyah prayed in front of them, and he stood up during the prayer when he should have sat. The people said tasbih, but he remained standing, then he prostrated twice while he was sitting, after he completed the prayer. Then he sat on the Minbar and said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever forgets something in his prayer, let him prostrate twice like this.' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1260)
AbuMijlaz said: Mu'awiyah went out to Ibn az-Zubayr and Ibn Amir. Ibn Amir got up and Ibn az-Zubayr remained sitting. Mu'awiyah said to Ibn Amir: Sit down, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Let him who likes people to stand up before him prepare his place in Hell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5229)
[Machine] He told him that he was sitting with a group of the Ansar (the companions of the Prophet from the city of Medina), then Muawiya came out to them and asked them about their conversation. They said they were discussing a matter among the Ansar. Muawiya said, "Shall I tell you a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah?" They replied, "Yes, O Amir al-Mu'minin." He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, 'Whoever loves the Ansar, Allah loves him, and whoever hates the Ansar, Allah hates him.'"
[Machine] "I was in a gathering with Muawiyah, with a group of the Ansar, and we were talking when Muawiyah came to us and mentioned a matter with us."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "I am but a treasurer, and indeed, it is Allah who gives. So whoever I give with a good intention, it will be blessed for him. And whoever I give with an evil intention and out of obligation, then it is like he is eating but never getting satisfied."
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "When the Mu'adhin calls the Adhan, say what he says."
[Machine] He heard Muawiyah giving a sermon in the shade of the Kaaba and he was saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited wearing gold jewelry and silk clothing.
[Machine] The translation of the passage is as follows: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to repeat the words of the Mu'adhdhin when he heard him saying, 'Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest.' He would say the same words. And when the Mu'adhdhin said, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah,' he would say the same words. And when the Mu'adhdhin said, 'I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,' he would say the same words."
[Machine] He heard Muawiya giving a sermon, saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away when he was sixty-three years old, and Abu Bakr passed away when he was sixty-three, and Umar passed away when he was sixty-three, and I am sixty-three years old."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If someone drinks alcohol, flog him. If he repeats, flog him. If he repeats again, flog him. If he repeats once more, kill him."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Any woman who puts in her hair some hair of another person, then she is only putting in falsehood."
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The people are followers of the Quraysh in this matter. Their best in the pre-Islamic era were their best in Islam if they acquire knowledge. By Allah! If it weren't for the arrogance of the Quraysh, I would have informed them of their status in the sight of Allah, the Exalted.'"
[Machine] "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: O Allah, there is no preventer for what You have given, and there is no giver for what You have prevented, and this effort of mine cannot benefit anyone besides You. Whomsoever You desire good for, You make him understand the religion. And the best women who rode the camels are the righteous women of the Quraysh. They protected them with their own hands and supported them with their children from a young age."
[Machine] He told him that he heard Muawiya on the pulpit in Mecca saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing gold and silk.
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever Allah wishes to bring good to, He gives him understanding of the religion, and this Ummah will continue to be established on the command of Allah. Those who oppose them will not harm them until the command of Allah comes while they are still apparent among people."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There will always be a group from my Ummah standing firm upon the command of Allah, unaffected by those who abandon or oppose them, until the command of Allah comes to pass. They will be apparent to the people." Then Malik ibn Yakhamir As-SakSakī stood up and said, "O Amir al-Mu'minin, I heard Mu'adh ibn Jabal saying this about the people of ash-Sham." Mu'awiyah replied in a raised voice, "This is Malik, claiming that he heard Mu'adh saying this about the people of ash-Sham."
[Machine] "Muaawiya took the position of governorship after Abu Huraira and followed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in it. Abu Huraira complained and while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was performing wudu, he raised his head towards him once or twice and said, 'O Muawiya, if you are entrusted with authority, fear Allah ﷻ and be just.' He said, 'I continued to think that I was being tested with a work until I was tested.'"
[Machine] "That someone other than Jews makes this, and indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called it "zoor," as if he means intimacy."
[Machine] The people gathered and Muawiyah delivered a speech in Hims. In his speech, he mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited seven things. I will now inform you of these seven things and prohibit you from indulging in them. These things are: wailing, poetry, images/statues, excessive adornment/display, the skins of predatory animals, gold, and silk.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am only a messenger, and Allah guides and divides. And Allah gives, so whoever receives anything from me with good inclination and good guidance, it is a blessed thing for him. And whoever receives anything from me with bad inclination and bad guidance, it is he who eats but does not get full."
[Machine] "Abu Al-Mughira, in another place, narrated that Al-Harazi reported from Abu Amer Abdullah ibn Luhay saying: We performed Hajj with Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan. When we arrived in Mecca, he stood up after performing the Dhuhr prayer and said: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The people of the two scriptures (Jews and Christians) split into seventy-two sects, and this Ummah (Muslim nation) will split into seventy-three sects, all of them in Hellfire except one, and that is the Jama'ah (main group). And indeed, there will emerge among my Ummah people who will follow other desires (sects) like stray dogs follow their owners. Any vein or joint they enter, and O people of the Arabs, I swear by Allah, if you don't adhere to what your Prophet ﷺ brought, then others among the people will be more worthy of following it."
[Machine] He informed him that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ trim his hair with a scissors. So I said to Ibn Abbas, "We only learned of this matter from Muawiyah. " He said, "Muawiyah was not accused of anything regarding the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
[Machine] It means "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ shortened his hair with a pair of scissors."
8.5 Tamīm al-Dārī
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Religion is sincerity (An-Nasihah).' They said: 'To whom, O Messenger of Allah? He said: 'To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the imams of the Muslims and to their common folk"' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4198)
"Religion is sincerity, religion is sincerity (Al-Nasihah), religion is sincerity." They said; "To whom, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the imams of the Muslims and to their common folk." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4199)
[Machine] He said that religion is only advice in three things.
[Machine] Umar went out to the people and started hitting them on their knees after Asr prayer until he passed by Tameem Ad-Dari. He said, "I will not leave these two, as I have already performed them with someone who is better than you, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' Umar then said, "If the people were to be like you, I would not care."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who greets another man with a handshake. He replied, "He is the most deserving of people to have his life and death preserved."

[Machine] "Suhail, I heard it from the one who heard it from my father, who heard it from Ata' bin Yazeed Al-Laythi, who narrated from Tamim Ad-Dari, who narrated from the Prophet ﷺ, similar to the hadith narrated by my father from Ibn Uyaynah."

“I heard Tamim Ad- Dari say: ‘I said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the Sunnah concerning a man from among the People of the Book who becomes a Muslim at the hands of another man?’ He said: ‘He is the closest of all people to him in life and in death.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2752)
[Machine] On the authority of a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The first thing for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment is his prayer. If it is complete, it will be recorded as complete, and if it is not complete, Allah will say: 'See if My servant has any voluntary prayers to complete what is lacking in his obligatory prayers.' After that, the Zakat will be dealt with in the same manner. Then, the other good deeds will be dealt with accordingly."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever says 'There is no God but Allah, alone, without partner, the Eternal, He does not begat nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him' ten times, will have forty thousand good deeds written for him."
[Machine] "From the Prophet ﷺ , he said: The first thing for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment is prayer. If it was performed perfectly, it will be recorded as complete for him. But if it was not performed perfectly, Allah, the Exalted, will say to the angels: 'See if my servant has any voluntary prayers, so that the deficiency in his obligatory prayers may be compensated for with them.' Then, the next thing that will be reckoned is Zakat (obligatory charity). After that, their other deeds will be taken into account according to the same principle."
[Machine] He (Tamim) asked, "Do you have any soul among these (people) who can suffice you?" He replied, "Yes, but I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whenever a Muslim cleans a hoof of his horse and then hangs it on it, he will be credited with a good deed for every grain on it.'"
[Machine] From Shurahbil ibn Muslim, he mentioned a similar narration to this hadith.
Islam will reach every single household through the honorables and the respected
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "This matter (Islam) will reach as far as the night and day reach, and Allah will never leave a house made of mud or hair but He will let this religion enter it, either by the honor of the honorable or a or by the lowliness of the lowly. Through honor and respect Allah will honor Islam and through humiliation Allah will humiliate disbelief.”
Tamīm al-Dārī said, “I have come to know that through my household that whoever amongst them becomes a Muslim, will have goodness, honor, and respect. And whoever amongst them remains a disbeliever, will have humiliation, servility, and the jizyah (tax).' "
[Machine] My father informed me through dictation that was dictated to us in the collection of rare hadiths. He said that Abu Tawbah, Rabee'ah bin Naafi', wrote to me and said that Al-Haytham bin Humaid narrated to us from Zaid bin Waqid from Sulaiman bin Musa from Kathir bin Murrah from Tamim Ad-Dari. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever recites one hundred verses in a night, Qunut (a special supplication) will be recorded for him in that night."
8.6 [Machine] Muslima Bin Mukhled
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever conceals a Muslim in this world, Allah will conceal him in this world and the Hereafter. And whoever relieves a distressed person, Allah will relieve him of one of the sorrows of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever helps his brother in need, Allah will be there for his needs."
[Machine] I did not come to visit you, but I came to you due to a need. I remember the day when a group of people said in their conversation that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever knows of a bad deed committed by his brother and conceals it, Allah will conceal his sins on the Day of Judgment." So he (the person speaking) said: "Yes." Then he (the narrator) said: "I came to tell you this." Ibn Abu Adiyah mentioned in his narration that Uqbah bin Amir rode to Muslimah bin Mukhallad, who was the ruler of Egypt.
8.7 [Machine] Aws bin Aws on the Prophet ﷺ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever washes (ghassala) and performs ghusl, and comes early to the masjid and sits near the imam, is attentive and does not engage in idle talk, for every step he takes he will have (the reward of) a year's worth of good deeds, its fasting and Qiyam prayer." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1398)
