[Machine] "Jibreel (Gabriel), ﷺ , said, 'O Muhammad, indeed your Lord commands you to recite this Surah to Ubayy ibn Ka'b.' So, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'O Ubayy, indeed my Lord has commanded me to recite this Surah to you.' Then Ubayy cried and said, 'Have I been mentioned?' The Prophet ﷺ replied, 'Yes.'"
[Machine] When the verse "Those who disbelieve from the People of the Scripture" [Al-Bayyina 1] was revealed, Jibreel (Gabriel) upon him be peace said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed your Lord commands you to recite it to Ubayy." So the Prophet ﷺ said to Ubayy, "Indeed Jibreel has commanded me to recite this Surah to you." Ubayy said, "Even though I have been mentioned by name, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes." So Ubayy wept.

6.227 [Machine] My father's name is Umayr.
[Machine] Hafsah, the daughter of Talq, narrated to me that a woman from the neighborhood came to me in the year ninety and mentioned that Abu Umair said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day when a man brought a plate with dates on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Is this a charity or a gift?" The man replied, "It is a charity." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then handed it to the people and smiled. A small boy took a date and placed it in his mouth. The Prophet ﷺ put his finger into the boy's mouth and took out the date. He then threw it away and said, "Indeed, the family of Muhammad is not allowed to accept charity." I asked my grandfather, Abu Umair: "Is he your grandfather?" He replied, "He is my father's grandfather."
[Machine] We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he mentioned something similar to it.
6.228 [Machine] Wathla bin Al-Asqaa from the Shami people
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A woman has three inheritances: her freed slave, her illegitimate child, and her child that she cursed."
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿWhoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted. Allah will build something like it for him in Paradise.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 434)
[Machine] I was one of the people of the Safa tribe, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called me one day with a piece of bread. He broke it into a bowl and made hot water in it. Then he made a broth in it and seasoned it. Then he poured it into another bowl and soaked it in fat. Then he said, "Go and bring me ten people, and you will be the tenth." So I brought them and he said, "Eat and eat from the bottom of it, and do not eat from the top of it, for the blessings come down from the top." So they ate from it until they were full.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been commanded to use the tooth stick until I feared that it would be prescribed for me."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The greatest of lies are three: for a man to fabricate seeing something with his eyes when he did not see it, and to fabricate against his parents by claiming to have been called by someone other than his father, or to say 'He heard from me' when he did not hear from me."
[Machine] I saw Waathilah ibn Al-Asqa' praying in the mosque of Damascus. He spat under his left foot and then rubbed it with his right foot. When he finished, I said, "You are one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and you spat in the mosque?" He replied, "That is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing."
[Machine] A group from the tribe of Sulaim came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, a man among us has committed a sin and we want him to fulfill its expiation." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let him free a slave like himself, for Allah will remove a part of him from the Fire for every limb of the slave he frees."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A woman will inherit three types of legacy: her ancient belongings, her illegitimate child, and her child whom she curses."
[Machine] "We were narrated a story from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said, 'We visited the Prophet ﷺ regarding a companion of ours who had made a vow.' He said, 'Free him, for Allah will free every limb from his body a limb from the Fire.'"
[Machine] "O Abdullah, did you buy it?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Did he clarify what is in it for you?" I said, "What is in it?" He said, "It is a healthy and apparent fat one." He then said, "Did you intend to travel with it or to have meat?" I said, "No, I intended to perform Hajj with it." He said, "Then there is a hole in its hoof." He then said, "May Allah rectify you, why would you hide anything from me?" I said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'It is not permissible for anyone to sell something without clarifying what is in it, and it is not permissible for anyone who knows about it, to hide it.'"
[Machine] I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day, and a man came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin from the boundaries of Allah. So establish upon me the punishment of Allah." The Prophet turned away from him. Then he came to him a second time and the Prophet turned away from him. Then he said it for the third time and the Prophet turned away from him. Then the prayer was established, and when the prayer was finished, he came to him for the fourth time and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin from the boundaries of Allah. So establish upon me the punishment of Allah." The Prophet called him and said, "Didn't you perform the purification or ablution properly, then you witnessed the prayer with us in advance?" He said, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Then go, it is your expiation."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The greatest of lies is three: for a man to lie about what he has seen, when he has not seen it; to lie about his parents and claim to have been invited by someone other than his father; and to say that he has heard something when he has not heard it."
[Machine] "So Abu Al-Aswad took the oath of allegiance with the right hand of Waathila and wiped it on his eyes and face. Waathila asked him, 'Do you have any question about it?' He said, 'What is it?' She said, 'What do you think about your Lord?' He said, 'Good.' Abu Al-Aswad said, 'Then, I give you good news: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Allah says: I am as My servant thinks of Me, so let him think of Me in whatever manner he wishes."
[Machine] Sa'eed bin Abdul Aziz and Hisham bin Al-Ghaz heard it from Hayyan, the father of Nadir, who told them about it but they did not adhere to the narrations of Walid bin Sulaiman.
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered the funeral prayer for a man among the Muslims and I heard him say: ‘O Allah, so-and-so the son of so-and-so is in Your case and under Your protection. Protect him from the trial of the grave and the torment of the Fire, for You are the One Who keeps the promise and You are the Truth. Forgive him and have mercy on him, for You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1499)
: "The Muslim is the brother to the Muslim, he does not cheat him, lie to him, nor deceive him. All of the Muslim is unlawful to another Muslim: His Honor, his wealth, and his blood. At-taqwa is here. It is enough evil for a man that he belittle his brother Muslim." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1927)
6.229 [Machine] Rabi'a bin Abbad Al-Daili
[Machine] He said, "I saw Abu Lahab in 'Ukaz, following the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he was saying, 'O people, indeed, this man has gone astray, so do not let him mislead you from your gods and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was fleeing from him, and he was on his trail, while we were following him. We were mere youths, and I remember him, encircled by two white men, the finest of them."
[Machine] I saw the Prophet ﷺ in the valley of Makhaz, inviting people to Islam, and behind him was a man of strong opposition, saying, "Let not this man divert you from your religion and the worship of your gods." I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ inviting people to Islam with a speech, and behind him was a man (Abu Lahab) saying to them, "Will this not overcome you? Will it not divert you from your religion and the religion of your fathers?" I said to my father while I was still a boy, "Who is this man walking behind him?" He said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab." The narrator says, "I think that there was a disagreement between Muhammad Ibn Amr and Rabee'ah Ibn Al-Munkadir."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the market of Thul Majaz saying, "O people, say: There is no god but Allah, and you will succeed." He entered a narrow lane and people crowded around him. I did not see anyone speaking while he remained silent, repeating: "O people, say: There is no god but Allah, and you will succeed." Except for a man with a bright face and two deep dimples, who said, "This is a lying sorcerer!" So I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "Muhammad, son of Abdullah, reminding people about prophethood." I asked, "Who is the one he is being accused by?" They said, "His uncle, Abu Lahab." I said, "You were young back then." He replied, "No, by Allah, I was not young. I was very intelligent at that time."
[Machine] He heard Rabee'ah ibn 'Ibaad ad-Diiliyy saying: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ circumambulating the people in Mina in their dwellings before he migrated to Al-Madinah. He said, 'O people, indeed Allah commands you to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him.' Behind him was a man saying, 'This (man) commands you to abandon the religion of your fathers.' So I asked who this man was and it was said, 'This is Abu Lahab.'"
[Machine] I remember accompanying my father, a young man, as he looked upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . There was a man following the tribes, and behind him was a more handsome and bright man with long hair. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in front of the tribe and said, "O son of so-and-so, I am the Messenger of Allah to you. I command you to worship Allah alone and not associate anything with Him, to believe in me and support me until I fulfill what Allah sent me with." After the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished speaking, the man behind him said, "O son of so-and-so, he wants you to abandon worshiping Lat and Uzza and your allies from the tribe of Bani Malik bin Uqaysh, and to adopt the innovations and misguidance he brought. Do not listen to him or follow him." So I asked my father, "Who is this?" He said, "His uncle, Abu Lahab."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , passing by in the alleys of Dhu al-Majaz, followed by people who said, "This is Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Muttalib." There was a man with a handsome face and radiant complexion, with two buns of hair, following him in the alleys of Dhu al-Majaz, claiming that he is a false sorcerer. So, I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab."

[Machine] "And by Allah, I remember when he (i.e. Prophet Muhammad) would go around the houses in Mina, and I was a young boy with my father. Behind him was a man of handsome face, with thick curly hair, wearing two green garments. Every time the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would stop at a group of people, he would say: 'I am the Messenger of Allah, commanding you to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him in worship.' And the man behind him would say: 'Verily, he is calling you to abandon the religion of your forefathers, to abandon Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and your allies from the Banu Malik bin Uqaysh, and what he has brought of innovation and misguidance.' So I asked my father, 'Who is this?' He said, 'This is his uncle, Abu Lahab, the slave of Al-Uzza, son of Abdul-Muttalib.'"

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When Allah casts a love speech in the heart of a person for a woman, it is not wrong for him to look at her."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There will be tribulation, division, and disagreement. When that happens, take your sword and strike with it firmly, break your spear, and cut your bow strings, then stay in your home. This has already been said by the Prophet ﷺ. Yazid said another time, 'Strike with it until you sever it, then stay in your home until a harmed hand or the mercy of Allah comes to you.' Indeed, I have done what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to do." Then, a sword that was hanging by a pillar fell down, it was made of wood. He said, "I have done what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to do," and he took it, saying, "With this, I will frighten people."

[Machine] He told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married a woman from the Banu Ghaafar tribe. When he entered upon her, he took off his garment and sat on the bed. He noticed the whiteness of her bosom and moved away from the bed. Then he said, "Take care of your clothes." And he did not take anything that she brought to him.

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us for one of the nighttime prayers, and he was carrying Hasan or Husain. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came forward and put him down, then he said the Takbir and started to pray. He prostrated during his prayer, and made the prostration lengthy." My father said: "I raised my head and saw the child on the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was prostrating so I went back to my prostration. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished praying, the people said: "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, you prostrated during the prayer for so long that we thought that something had happened or that you were receiving a revelation.' He said: 'No such thing happened. But my son was riding on my back and I did not like to disturb him until he had enough.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1141)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed him commander over a detachment. He said: I went out along with it. He (the Prophet) said: If you find so-and-so, burn him with the fire. I then turned away, and he called me. So I returned to him, and he said: If you find so-and-so, kill him, and do not burn him, for no one punishes with fire except the Lord of the fire. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2673)
[Machine] Hamza ibn Amr al-Aslami, a companion of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him along with a group to a man from the tribe of 'Udhrah. He said, "If you can overpower him, then burn him with fire." So they went, and when they concealed themselves from him, he called out to them or sent someone after them. They responded to him and then he said, "If you are able, kill him, but do not burn him with fire, as only the Lord of the Fire punishes with fire."

he asked the Messenger of Allah about fasting while traveling. He said: "If," then he said something to the effect that: "If you want, then fast, and if you want, then do not fast. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2294)
[Machine] He saw a man on a camel who was following the people's pilgrimages in Mina, and the Prophet ﷺ was a witness. The man said, "Do not fast these days, for they are days of eating and drinking." Qatadah said that he informed us that the caller was Bilal.

6.234 [Machine] Dear,
[Machine] We were sitting on a rooftop with a man from the companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . He said, "I know only one of them, Abas Al-Ghafari, and people are going out during the plague." Abas said, "O plague, take me three times." Ali asked him, "Why do you say this? Did not the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'None of you should wish for death because of a calamity that befalls him; but if he has to wish for death, he should say: O Allah! Keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and let me die if death is better for me'?" Abas replied, "Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Hasten to meet death in six instances: The rule of fools, abundance of police, selling judgments, belittling of bloodshed, cutting off kinship ties, and when people make the Qur'an into songs, and they consider it as if they are singing it, even if there are others among them who have more knowledge than them.'"

6.236 [Machine] Abdullah bin Anis
[Machine] From a man who heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : I bought a camel and packed my provisions on it. I traveled for a month until I reached Sham and there I found Abdullah ibn Unais. I said to the gatekeeper, "Tell him Jaabir is at the gate." The gatekeeper asked, "Ibn Abdullah?" I said, "Yes." He came out and covered me with his cloak, and I did the same to him. I said to him, "A narration has reached me that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding the retribution. I feared that you or I might die before I heard it. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'People will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as barefooted, uncircumcised, and sunburned.' We asked, 'What does sunburned mean?' He replied, 'They will have nothing with them. Then they will be called with a voice that will be heard from a distance as it is heard from near: I am the King, I am the Judge. It is not appropriate for anyone from the people of Hellfire to enter Hell while someone from the people of Paradise has a right over him, even if it is for him to take a pledge from him. Similarly, it is not appropriate for anyone from the people of Paradise to enter Paradise while someone from the people of Hellfire has a right over him, even if it is for him to take a pledge from him, until the account is settled evenly.' He said, 'Then he struck his chest.' We asked, 'How is that possible when we come to Allah barefooted, uncircumcised, and sunburned?' He replied, 'By good deeds and bad deeds.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I saw the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) and then I forgot it. And I saw myself prostrating in muddy water. Then we were rained upon on the night of the twenty-third (of Ramadan) and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us. Then he left and there was a trace of water and mud on his forehead and nose."

[Machine] Abdullah ibn Unais, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , sat with us in his gathering in the gathering of Juheyneh. He said, "In Ramadan, we said to him, 'O Abu Yahya, did you hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ anything about this blessed night?' He replied, 'Yes, we sat with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the last part of this month, and we said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, when should we seek this blessed night?' He said, 'Seek it on the twenty-third night,' and he said, 'And that is the evening of the twenty-third night.' Then a man from the people asked him, 'O Messenger of Allah, is it the first eight nights?' He replied, 'No, it is not the first eight, but it is the first of the seven. Indeed, the month does not end...'

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ invited me and said, "I have been informed that Khalid ibn Safwan ibn Nubayh al-Hadhali is gathering people to attack me while he is wearing a protective garment. Go to him and kill him." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, describe him to me so that I may recognize him." He said, "When you see him and notice goosebumps on your skin, proceed towards him and fear that there may be a plan between me and him to distract me from prayer. So I prayed while walking towards him and gestured with my head to indicate rukoo' and sujood. When I reached him, he asked, 'Who is this person?' I said, 'A man from the Arabs who heard about you and your gathering for this man, so he came to you.' He said, 'Indeed, I am that person.' He said, 'I walked with him for a while until I was able to bear the sword on him, and then I killed him. Then I left and abandoned his belongings on him. When I arrived before the Messenger of Allah, he saw me and said, 'Successful is the face.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have killed him.' He said, 'You have spoken the truth.' Then he stood up with me, the Messenger of Allah, and entered his house and gave me a staff and said, 'Hold onto this, O Abdullah ibn Unais.' So I went out to the people with it, and they said, 'What is this staff?' I said, 'The Messenger of Allah gave it to me and commanded me to hold onto it.' They said, 'Why don't you return to the Messenger of Allah and ask him about it?' He said, 'So I returned to the Messenger of Allah and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you give me this staff?' He said, 'It is a sign between me and you on the Day of Judgment. Indeed, the fewest people on that day will be the ones carrying staffs.' Abdullah then tied it to his sword and kept it with him until he died. When he died, he was wrapped with it in his burial shroud and we were all buried together."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to Khalid ibn Sufyan ibn Nuayh Al-Hudhali to kill him, as he was gathering forces to fight against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He said, "So I came to him while he was in the middle of his back and it was the time of Asr prayer. I feared that there might be an attempt between me and him that would distract me from prayer. So I prayed while walking, making gestures. When I finished, I approached him and said, 'So and so', until I mentioned the conversation. Then he went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of his killing him and mentioned the conversation."

The worthiest clans of the Ansar are Banu Najjar, thereafter Banu al-Ashhal; thereafter Banu Harith b. Banu Khazraj; thereafter Banu Sa'idah and there is goodness in all clans of the Ansar. Sa'd said: I see that he (the Holy Prophet) has placed others above us. It was said to (him): He has placed you above many others. (Using translation from Muslim 2511a)
