[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The greatest of lies is three: for a man to lie about what he has seen, when he has not seen it; to lie about his parents and claim to have been invited by someone other than his father; and to say that he has heard something when he has not heard it."  

أحمد:١٦٠١٥ – حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ يَقُولُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "The greatest lie a person can make is to attribute seeing something with their own eyes when they did not see it, or to fabricate claims about their parents, or to say that they heard something when they did not hear it."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, among the greatest forms of lying are three: a man lying about himself by claiming to have seen something in a dream when he has not, or a man falsely attributing something to his parents, thus being called upon by someone who is not his father, or a man claiming to have heard something from me when he has not."  

ابن حبّان:٣٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْظَمِ الْفِرْيَةِ ثَلَاثًا أَنْ يَفْرِيَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ وَلَمْ يَرَ شَيْئًا فِي الْمَنَامِ أَوْ يَتَقَوَّلَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى وَالِدَيْهِ فَيُدْعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ أَوْ يَقُولَ سَمِعَ مِنِّي وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنِّي»

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "One of the greatest falsehoods is to claim that one has seen something when they haven't, to falsely attribute something to someone other than their father, or to say that they heard something when they didn't."  

الطبراني:١٨٤٥٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ يَقُولُ

"إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الْفريةِ أنْ يفترى الرَّجُلُ على عَيْنِهِ، يَقُولُ: رأَيتُ ولم يَرَ، ويَفْترِى على وَالِدَيْه، أَو يقول: سَمِعَنِى ولَم يَسْمَعْنِى".
