"In the end of time, the dreams of a believer will hardly ever fail to come true, and the most truthful of them in dreams will be the truest in speech among them. And dreams are three types: The good dreams wihich is glad tidings from Allah, dreams about something that has happened to the man himself, and dreams in which the Shaitan frightens someone. So when one of you sees what he dislikes, then he should get up and perform Salat." Abu Hurairah said: "I like fetters and dislikes, the iron collar. And fetters refers to being firm in the religion." He said: "The Prophet (s. a. w) said: 'Dreams are a portion among the forty_six portions of Prophethood." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2291)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ لَا تَكَادُ رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ تَكْذِبُ وَأَصْدَقُهُمْ رُؤْيَا أَصْدَقُهُمْ حَدِيثًا وَالرُّؤْيَا ثَلَاثٌ فَالرُّؤْيَا الْحَسَنَةُ بُشْرَى مِنَ اللَّهِ ﷻ وَالرُّؤْيَا يُحَدِّثُ بِهَا الرَّجُلُ نَفْسَهُ وَالرُّؤْيَا تَحْزِينٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ رُؤْيَا يَكْرَهُهَا فَلَا يُحَدِّثْ بِهَا أَحَدًا وَلْيَقُمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَرُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «يُعْجِبُنِي الْقَيْدُ وَأَكْرَهُ الْغُلَّ الْقَيْدُ ثَبَاتٌ فِي الدِّينِ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The (good) dreams of a faithful believer is a part of the forty-six parts of prophetism:' (Using translation from Bukhārī 6987)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ وَهِيَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ طَائِرٍ مَا لَمْ يُحَدِّثْ بِهَا فَإِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَا وَقَعَتْ»  

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the dawn prayer, he would ask: Did any of you have a dream last night? And he said: All that is left of Prophecy after me is a good vision. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5017)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا انْصَرَفَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ يَقُولُ «هَلْ رَأَى أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ رُؤْيَا؟ أَلَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَبْقَى بَعْدِي مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ إِلَّا الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ»  

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Dreams are based on their interpretation, and the likeness of this is like a man who lifted his leg, waiting to put it down. So, if any of you sees a dream, do not narrate it unless to a sincere advisor or a knowledgeable person."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الرُّؤْيَا تَقَعُ عَلَى مَا تُعَبَّرُ وَمَثَلُ ذَلِكَ مَثَلُ رَجُلٍ رَفَعَ رِجْلَهُ فَهُوَ يَنْتَظِرُ مَتَى يَضَعُهَا فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ رُؤْيَا فَلَا يُحَدِّثْ بِهَا إِلَّا نَاصِحًا أَوْ عَالِمًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, the message and prophethood have ended, so there shall be no messenger after me and no prophet." This troubled the people, so he said, "However, there are glad tidings." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what are the glad tidings?" He said, "The dreams of a Muslim are a part of the parts of prophethood."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الرِّسَالَةَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ قَدِ انْقَطَعَتْ فَلَا رَسُولَ بَعْدِي وَلَا نَبِيَّ» قَالَ فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ «لَكِنِ الْمُبَشِّرَاتُ» فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْمُبَشِّرَاتُ؟ قَالَ «رُؤْيَا الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمُ هِيَ جُزْءٌ مِنْ أَجْزَاءِ النُّبُوَّةِ»  

“I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the about the Saying of Allah, Glorious is He: ‘For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present world, and in the Hereafter.”[10:64] He said: ‘Those are good dreams that a Muslim sees or are seen about him.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3898)   

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَى فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا} [يونس 64] قَالَ «هِيَ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ يَرَاهَا الْمُؤْمِنُ أَوْ تُرَى لَهُ»  

[Machine] "Allah, the Almighty, says, 'For them is good news in the worldly life.' (Surah Yunus 10:64) So, he ﷺ said, 'No one has asked me about it except you since I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' He ﷺ replied, 'No one has asked me about it except you since it was revealed. It is a righteous dream that a Muslim sees or that is seen for him.'"  

عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ {لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَى فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا} [يونس 64] فَقَالَ مَا سَأَلَنِي أَحَدٌ غَيْرُكَ مُنْذُ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهَا أَحَدٌ غَيْرُكَ مُنْذُ أُنْزِلَتْ هِيَ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ يَرَاهَا الْمُسْلِمُ أَوْ تُرَى لَهُ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If anyone of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, and he should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others; but if he sees something else, i.e., a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Satan, and he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and he should not mention it to anybody, for it will not harm him." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6985)  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمُ الرُّؤْيَا يُحِبُّهَا فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ مِنَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فَلْيَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهَا وَلْيُحَدِّثْ بِمَا رَأَى وَإِذَا رَأَى غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ مِمَّا يَكْرَهُ فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَلَا يَذْكُرْهَا لِأَحَدٍ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّهُ»  

There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a desert Arab and said: I saw in a dream that I had been beheaded and I had been following it (the severed head). Allah's Apostle ﷺ reprimanded him saying: Do not inform about the vain sporting of devil with you during the night. (Using translation from Muslim 2268c)   

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي حَلَمْتُ أَنَّ رَأْسِي قُطِعَ وَأَنَا أَتْبَعُهُ فَزَجَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقَالَ «لَا تُخْبِرْ بِتَلَعُّبِ الشَّيْطَانِ بِكَ فِي الْمَنَامِ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The truest of dreams are during the early hours of the morning."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَصْدَقُ الرُّؤْيَا بِالْأَسْحَارِ»  

" From the Prophet ﷺ, who said: "Whoever lies about his dream, he will be required to knot barely kernels on the Day of Judgement." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2281)  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كَذَبَ فِي حُلْمِهِ كُلِّفَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَقْدَ شَعِيرَةٍ»  

" From the Prophet ﷺ, who said: "Whoever lies about his dream, he will be required to knot barely kernels on the Day of Judgement." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2281)   

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كَذَبَ فِي حُلْمِهِ كُلِّفَ أَنْ يَعْقِدَ بَيْنَ شَعِيرَتَيْنِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever sees me in a dream has indeed seen me, for the Shaytan cannot take on my form." My father said, "So I narrated this to Ibn Abbas and I told him that I had seen him ﷺ, and I mentioned that I resembled him to Al-Hasan ibn Ali." Ibn Abbas said, "Indeed, he used to resemble him."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ فَقَدْ رَآنِي إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَتَمَثَّلُ بِي» قَالَ أَبِي فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَقُلْتُ قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ فَشَبَّهْتُهُ بِهِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُشْبِهُهُ»  

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about Waraqah. Khadijah said to him: 'He believed in you, but he died before your advent.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I saw him in a dream, and upon him were white garments. If he were among the inhabitants of the Fire then he would have been wearing other than that.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2288)   

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ وَرَقَةَ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ خَدِيجَةُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صَدَّقَكَ وَلَكِنَّهُ مَاتَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَظْهَرَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «رَأَيْتُهُ فِي الْمَنَامِ وَعَلَيْهِ ثِيَابٌ بِيضٌ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ لَكَانَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَاسٌ غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ»  

that Jabir bin 'Abdullah Al-Ansari said: "One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said: "While I was sleeping I had a vision as if Jibra'il was at my feet. One of them said to his companion: 'Make a parable for him' so he said: 'Listen so that your ears may hear. Hearken so that your heart may understand! The parable of you and your Ummah is but the parable of a king who conquers a land, then he constructs a house in it. Then he places a table-spread in it, then he sends a messenger to call the people to eat from it. Among them are those who answer the call of the messenger, and among them are those who forsake it. So Allah is the king and the land is Islam, and the house is Paradise, and you O Muhammad! You are the Messenger, so whoever responds to you he enters Islam, and whoever enters Islam he enters Paradise, and whoever enters Paradise, he shall eat of what is in it.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2860)   

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِي وَمِيكَائِيلَ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيَّ يَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ اضْرِبْ لَهُ مِثْلًا فَقَالَ اسْمَعْ سَمِعَ أُذُنُكَ وَاعْقِلْ عَقِلَ قَلْبُكَ مَثَلُكَ وَمَثَلُ أُمَّتِكَ كَمَثَلِ مَلِكٍ اتَّخَذَ دَارًا ثُمَّ بَنَى فِيهَا بَيْتًا ثُمَّ جَعَلَ فِيهَا مَأْدُبَةً ثُمَّ بَعَثَ رَسُولًا يَدْعُو النَّاسَ إِلَى طَعَامِهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَجَابَ الرَّسُولَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ تَرَكَهُ فَاللَّهُ هُوَ الْمَلِكُ وَالدَّارُ الْإِسْلَامُ وَالْبَيْتُ الْجَنَّةُ وَأَنْتَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ رَسُولٌ مَنْ أَجَابَكَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَكَلَ مَا فِيهَا  

One day the Prophet ﷺ said: Which of you had dream? A man said: It is I. I saw as though a scale descended from the sky. You and AbuBakr were weighed and you were heavier; AbuBakr and Umar were weighed and AbuBakr was heavier: Umar and Uthman were weighed and Umar was heavier; than the scale was taken up. we saw signs of dislike on the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4634)  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ «مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ رُؤْيَا؟» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا رَأَيْتُ كَأَنَّ مِيزَانًا نَزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَوُزِنْتَ أَنْتَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ فَرَجَحْتَ أَنْتَ بِأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَوَزْنَ عُمَرُ بِأَبِي بَكْرٍ فَرَجَحَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَوَزْنَ عُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ فَرَجَحَ عُمَرُ ثُمَّ رُفِعَ الْمِيزَانُ فَرَأَيْتُ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَسَلَّمَ  

[Machine] I was sitting in the mosque when a man entered and they said, "This is a man from the people of Paradise." So, he prayed and then left. I followed him and said, "Indeed, the people said this and that about you." He said, "It is not appropriate for anyone to lie or speak about something he does not know. And I will tell you why. I had a dream and I narrated it to the Prophet ﷺ. I saw as if I was in a green garden, and he mentioned its vastness and greenery. In the middle of the garden, there was an iron pillar. Then, a man came to me and said, 'Climb.' I said, 'I'm not able to climb.' He brought a podium from behind me and said, 'Climb.' I said, 'I'm not able to climb.' So, he helped me climb along with my clothes. When I reached the top of the pillar, there was a handle, and I inserted my hand into it. It felt like I became the owner of the ring, and indeed, the ring was in my hand. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'As for the garden, it is the garden of Islam, and as for the pillar, it is the pillar of Islam, and as for the handle, you have held onto the firmest handle of Islam until you die.'"  

كُنْتُ جَالِسًا فِي حَلْقَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالُوا هَذَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَصَلَّى فَخَرَجَ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ قَالُوا كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ مَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَكْذِبَ أَوْ يَقُولَ مَا لَا يَعْلَمُ وَسَأُحَدِّثُكَ لِمَ ذَا إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رُؤْيَا فَقَصَصْتُهَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي فِي رَوْضَةٍ خَضْرَاءَ فَذَكَرَ مِنْ سَعَتِهَا وَخُضْرَتِهَا وَفِي وَسَطِ الرَّوْضَةِ عَمُودٌ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ فَأَتَانِي رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ لِي اصْعَدْ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَصْعَدَ قَالَ فَأَتَى بِي مُنْصَبًا مِنْ خَلْفِي فَقَالَ بِي اصْعَدْ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَصْعَدَ فَصَعَّدَنِي مَعَ ثِيَابِي فَلَمَّا انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى أَعْلَى الْعَمُودِ إِذَا فِيهِ عُرْوَةٌ فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي فِي الْعُرْوَةِ فَلَقَدْ أَصْبَحْتُ وَإِنَّ الْحَلْقَةَ لَفِي يَدِي فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَمَا الرَّوْضَةُ فَرَوْضَةُ الْإِسْلَامِ وَأَمَّا الْعَمُودُ فَعَمُودُ الْإِسْلَامِ وَأَمَّا الْعُرْوَةُ فَأَخَذْتَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَى فَلَا تَزَالُ ثَابِتًا عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ حَتَّى تَمُوتَ»  

[Machine] A group of women from the believers' women gathered at Aisha, the mother of the believers. One of them said, "By Allah, Allah will never punish me. I only pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, to not associate anything with Allah, not steal, not kill my children, not spread false accusations, not disobey him in goodness." She fulfilled her pledge, then she returned to her home and was visited in her dream. It was said to her, "You are confident in Allah that He will not punish you, so how can you speak about something that does not concern you and refrain from what does not benefit you?" She then returned to Aisha and told her about the dream. Aisha said to her, "I was visited in my dream as well, and I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him." Abu Dawood did not include the narration, but it is mentioned elsewhere.  

اجْتَمَعَ نِسَاءٌ مِنْ نِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ وَاللَّهِ لَا يُعَذِّبُنِي اللَّهُ أَبَدًا إِنَّمَا «بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى أَنْ لَا أُشْرِكَ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا أَسْرِقَ وَلَا أَقْتُلَ وَلَدِي وَلَا آتِي بِبُهْتَانٍ أَفْتَرِيهِ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ وَرِجْلَيَّ وَلَا أَعْصِيهِ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ» وَقَدْ وَفَّيْتُ قَالَ فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَى بَيْتِهَا فَأُتِيَتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا فَقِيلَ لَهَا أَنْتِ الْمُتَأَلِّيَةُ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَكَ فَكَيْفَ بِقَوْلِكِ فِيمَا لَا يَعْنِيكِ وَمَنْعُكِ مَا لَا يُغْنِيكِ؟ قَالَ فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ لَهَا إِنِّي أُتِيتُ فِي مَنَامِي فَقِيلَ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا وَإِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِسكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص  

[Machine] It was as if three moons had fallen into my room, so I narrated my dream to Abu Bakr. When the Prophet ﷺ was buried in my house, Abu Bakr said, "This is one of your moons, and he is the best of them."  

كَأَنَّ ثَلَاثَةَ أَقْمَارٍ سَقَطْنَ فِي حُجْرَتِي فَقَصَصْتُ رُؤْيَايَ عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَلَمَّا دُفِنَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِي قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ هَذَا أَحَدُ أَقْمَارِكِ وَهُوَ خَيْرُهَا  

[Machine] About the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, he said, "I saw in a dream a black sheep followed by a flock of white sheep. O Abu Bakr, interpret this for me." Abu Bakr replied, "O Messenger of Allah, the Arabs will follow you, and then the non-Arabs will follow them until they become numerous." The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "This is how the angel of death will pass through them with ease." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summarization.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ غَنَمًا سَوْدَاءَ يَتْبَعُهَا غَنْمٌ عُفْرٌ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ اعْبُرُهَا» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هِيَ الْعَرَبُ تَتْبَعُكَ ثُمَّ تَتْبَعُهَا الْعَجَمُ حَتَّى تَغْمُرَهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَكَذَا عَبَرَهَا الْمَلَكُ بِسَحَرَ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "I saw many black sheep, and a lot of white sheep entered them." They asked, "What do you interpret from it, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Non-Arabs will join you in your religion and lineage." They asked, "Non-Arabs, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "If faith was suspended in the Pleiades, men from the non-Arabs would reach it and the people would benefit from it."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «رَأَيْتُ غَنَمًا كَثِيرَةً سَوْدَاءَ دَخَلَتْ فِيهَا غَنْمٌ كَثِيرَةٌ بِيضٌ» قَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «الْعَجَمُ يَشْرَكُونَكُمْ فِي دِينِكُمْ وَأَنْسَابِكُمْ» قَالُوا الْعَجَمُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «لَوْ كَانَ الْإِيمَانُ مُعَلَّقًا بِالثُّرَيَّا لَنَالَهُ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ وَأَسْعَدَهُمْ بِهِ النَّاسُ»  

[Machine] "The young boys who came to Joseph, peace be upon him, in the dream were indeed deceitful. When they first saw their dream, Joseph said, 'Indeed, we were just playing.' Joseph said, 'The matter concerning which you used to inquire has been decided.'"  

الْفَتَيَانِ اللَّذَانِ أَتَيَا يُوسُفَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ فِي الرُّؤْيَا إِنَّمَا كَانَا تَكَاذَبَا فَلَمَّا أَوَّلَ رُؤْيَاهُمَا قَالَ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَلْعَبُ قَالَ يُوسُفُ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ الَّذِي فِيهِ تَسْتَفْتِيَانِ  

[Machine] Shayban the Jew came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Muhammad, do you know about the stars that Joseph saw, to which they prostrate?" The Prophet ﷺ remained silent until Gabriel ﷺ came to him and informed him about what the Jew had asked. The Prophet ﷺ then met the Jew and said, "O Jew, I will inform you, will you believe?" The Jew replied, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "The stars are Haathaan, At-Tariq, Adh-Dhubbah, Qabis, Al-'Uudan, Al-Faliq, An-Nas'h, Al-Qaruh, Dhul-Kanafayn, Dhul-Fara', and Al-Waththab. Joseph saw them surrounding the edges of the sky, prostrating to him. He narrated this to his father, and his father said to him, 'Indeed, this is a matter that should be kept secret. Allah will unite him if it is His will in the future.'"  

جَاءَ شَيْبَانُ الْيَهُودِيُّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ هَلْ تَعْرِفُ النُّجُومَ الَّتِي رَآهَا يُوسُفُ يَسْجُدُونَ لَهُ؟ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِمَا سَأَلَهُ الْيَهُودِيُّ فَلَقِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْيَهُودِيَّ فَقَالَ «يَا يَهُودِيُّ لِلَّهِ عَلَيْكَ إِنْ أَنَا أَخْبَرْتُكَ لَتُسْلِمَنَّ؟» فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ النُّجُومُ حَدَثَانُ وَالطَّارِقُ وَالذَّبَّالُ وَقَابِسُ وَالْعُودَانِ وَالْفَلِيقُ وَالنُّصْحُ وَالْقَرُوحُ وَذُو الْكَنَفَانِ وَذُو الْفَرَعِ وَالْوَثَّابُ رَآهَا يُوسُفُ مُحِيطَةً بِأَكْنَافِ السَّمَاءِ سَاجِدَةً لَهُ فَقَصَّهَا عَلَى أَبِيهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُوهُ إِنَّ هَذَا أَمْرٌ فَلْيُشَتَّتْ وَسَيَجْمَعُهُ اللَّهُ إِنْ شَاءَ بَعْدُ  

[Machine] "The visions of the prophets were revelations."  

«كَانَتْ رُؤْيَا الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَحْيٌ»  

[Machine] "Between the dream of Yusuf and its interpretation, there passed forty years" - According to the conditions of Al-Bukhari and Muslim.  

«كَانَ بَيْنَ رُؤْيَا يُوسُفَ وَتَأْوِيلِهَا أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً» على شرط البخاري ومسلم  

[Machine] O Abu al-Hasan, a person sees dreams, and some of them are true and some of them are false. He said, "Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Every servant and slave who sleeps and has a full sleep, his soul ascends to the Throne. If he wakes up before reaching the Throne, then that is a true dream. And if he wakes up without reaching the Throne, then that is a false dream.'" This is a weak hadith.  

يَا أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرَّجُلُ يَرَى الرُّؤْيَا فَمِنْهَا مَا تَصْدُقُ وَمِنْهَا مَا تَكْذِبُ قَالَ نَعَمْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ وَلَا أَمَةٍ يَنَامُ فَيَمْتَلِئَ نَوْمًا إِلَّا عُرِجَ بِرُوحِهِ إِلَى الْعَرْشِ فَالَّذِي لَا يَسْتَيْقِظْ دُونَ الْعَرْشِ فَتِلْكَ الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي تَصْدُقُ وَالَّذِي يَسْتَيْقِظُ دُونَ الْعَرْشِ فَتِلْكَ الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي تَكْذِبُ» حديث منكر  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "Has anyone among you seen a dream?" So whoever Allah Willed would narrate his dream. One morning, he ﷺ said, "Last night, two angels came to me, one at my head and the other at my feet. The one at my head said, 'Adorn his similitude and make the similitude of his Ummah (nation) likewise.' The angel at my feet then remarked to the other angel, 'Do not make him unsatisfied and suspicious.' I woke up and saw them flirted by some man wearing a colorful outer garment (or covering). He said, 'Do you wish if I lead you to a cynosure that is covered with flowers, green and fresh grass, will you follow me?' The people responded, 'Yes.' So the man went ahead and led them to some gardens that were adorned with flowers, green and fresh grass. They ate and drank and became healthy. Then the man asked them, 'Do you recognize your way here?' They replied, 'Yes.' So the man said, 'I am ready to lead you further on, to something even more beautiful than this, but bear in mind that this is what you asked for. Those who seek it will stay on it and those who desire other things may get what they want, and return to their places of stay.' Some people replied, 'We accept and will not ask for anything else.' They went on and finally reached a land that was rich and fertile, so they stopped and said, 'We are satisfied; now let us stay here.' Upon hearing this, the angel at the head sat up, while the one at the feet moved closer to his head, resting upon his shoulders, and they made a du‘ā’ together saying, 'O Allāh, bless them in what You have bestowed upon them.' Then a caller called out, 'Indeed, Allāh has bestowed upon you the promised blessings and the good return.' " The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "So they came and settled there, and He enhanced their blessings and their provision, until they became the foremost (among people)."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «هَلْ رَأَى أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ رُؤْيَا؟» قَالَ فَيَقُصُّ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ شَاءَ وَإِنَّهُ قَالَ ذَاتَ غَدَاةٍ إِنَّهُ أَتَانِي اللَّيْلَةَ اثْنَانِ مَلَكَانِ فَقَعَدَ أَحَدُهُمَا عِنْدَ رَأْسِي وَالْآخَرُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيَّ فَقَالَ الَّذِي عِنْدَ رِجْلَيَّ لِلَّذِي عِنْدَ رَأْسِي اضْرِبْ مَثَلَ هَذَا وَمَثَلَ أُمَّتِهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مَثَلَهُ وَمَثَلَ أُمَّتِهِ كَمَثَلِ قَوْمٍ سَفْرٍ انْتَهَوْا إِلَى رَأْسِ مَفَازَةٍ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُمْ مِنَ الزَّادِ مَا يَقْطَعُونَ بِهِ الْمَفَازَةَ وَلَا مَا يَرْجِعُونَ بِهِ فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ أَتَاهُمْ رَجُلٌ مُرَجِّلٌ فِي حُلَّةٍ حِبَرَةٍ فَقَالَ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ وَرَدْتُ بِكُمْ رِيَاضًا مُعْشِبَةً وَحِيَاضًا رُوَاءً أَتَتَّبِعُونِي؟ فَقَالُوا نَعَمْ فَانْطَلَقَ بِهِمْ فَأَوْرَدَهُمْ رِيَاضًا مُعْشِبَةً وَحِيَاضًا رُوَاءً فَأَكَلُوا وَشَرِبُوا وَسَمِنُوا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ أَلَمْ أَلْقَكُمْ عَلَى تِلْكَ الْحَالِ فَقُلْتُ لَكُمْ إِنْ وَرَدْتُ بِكُمْ رِيَاضًا مُعْشِبَةً وَحِيَاضًا رُوَاءً أَتَتَّبِعُونِي فَقَالُوا بَلَى فَقَالَ إِنَّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ رِيَاضًا أَعْشَبَ مِنْ هَذَا وَحِيَاضًا أَرْوَى مِنْ هَذِهِ فَاتَّبِعُونِي فَقَالَتْ طَائِفَةٌ صَدَقَ وَاللَّهِ لَنَتَّبِعَنَّ وَقَالَتْ طَائِفَةٌ قَدْ رَضِينَا بِهَذَا نُقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ  

[Machine] "I saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, in the vision of a dream during midday. He appeared disheveled, with a dark complexion, and had a bottle containing blood with him. So I said, 'O Prophet of Allah, what is this?' He said, 'This is the blood of Al-Husayn and his companions. I have been collecting it since that day.' He then said, 'Let me count that day.' They counted and found that he was killed a day before that."  

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّائِمُ نِصْفَ النَّهَارِ أَشْعَثَ أَغْبَرَ مَعَهُ قَارُورَةٌ فِيهَا دَمٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ هَذَا دَمُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ لَمْ أَزَلْ أَلْتَقِطُهُ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمَ قَالَ «فَأُحْصِيَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ فَوَجَدُوهُ قُتِلَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ بِيَوْمٍ»  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to sleep one night and woke up bewildered. Then he went back to sleep and woke up bewildered again, without seeing what I saw the first time. Then he went to sleep and woke up holding red soil, which he kissed. So I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is this soil?' He said, 'Jibril informed me that this is the soil on which Al-Husayn will be killed in Iraq.' So I said to Jibril, 'Show me the soil of the land on which he will be killed.' He then showed me this soil.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ اضْطَجَعَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ لِلنَّوْمِ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ حَائِرٌ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ فَرَقَدَ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ حَائِرٌ دُونَ مَا رَأَيْتُ بِهِ الْمَرَّةَ الْأُولَى ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَفِي يَدِهِ تُرْبَةٌ حَمْرَاءُ يُقَبِّلُهَا فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذِهِ التُّرْبَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ أَنَّ هَذَا يُقْتَلُ بِأَرْضِ الْعِرَاقِ لِلْحُسَيْنِ فَقُلْتُ لِجِبْرِيلَ أَرِنِي تُرْبَةَ الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي يُقْتَلُ بِهَا فَهَذِهِ تُرْبَتُهَا  

"I had a dream while sleeping as if there were two gold bracelets in my hands which bothered me very much. So it was reveled to me to blow them off. I blew them off and they flew away. I interpreted thwm to be two liars who would appear after me. One of them caled Masalamah of Yamamah, and (the other) Al-'ansi of San'a'." (sahih) (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2292)   

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّ فِي يَدَيَّ سِوَارَيْنِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَهَمَّنِي شَأْنُهُمَا فَأُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنْ أَنْفُخَهُمَا فَنَفَخْتُهُمَا فَتَطَايَرَا فَأَوَّلْتُهُمَا كَاذِبَيْنِ يَخْرُجَانِ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَقَالَ لَأَحَدُهُمَا مُسَيْلِمَةُ صَاحِبُ الْيَمَامَةِ وَالْعَدَنِيُّ صَاحِبُ عَنْسَاءَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "The greatest lie a person can make is to attribute seeing something with their own eyes when they did not see it, or to fabricate claims about their parents, or to say that they heard something when they did not hear it."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الْفِرْيَةِ أَنْ يَفْتَرِيَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى عَيْنَيْهِ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ وَلَمْ يَرَ أَوْ يَفْتَرِي عَلَى وَالِدَيْهِ أَوْ يَقُولُ سَمِعَنِي وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْنِي
