8. Shāmīs (24/26)
"I came to the Messenger of Allah with my father Umayyah on the Day of the Conquest (of Makkah) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, accept my father's pledge for emigration (Al-Hijrah).' The Messenger of Allah said: 'I will accept his pledge to fight in Jihad, for the emigration (Al-Hijrah) has ceased."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4160)
[Machine] From Amr ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Umayyah with a similar chain of narration.
[Machine] An Arab man came to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , wearing a cloak with a saffron-colored border. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to perform the 'Umrah. What do you advise me, while people are mocking me and making fun of me?" The Prophet then called him and said, "Take off this cloak and wash off this saffron, and perform your 'Umrah as you would during your Hajj."
[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ while he was in a state of disarray and had unfinished haircut: "Have I performed my 'umrah?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Remove this (i.e. the hair) and perform ghusl (ritual bath), then proceed with your 'umrah just as you would in your pilgrimage (hajj)."
[Machine] I participated in the battle with the Prophet ﷺ with the army of Al-Usrah. It was one of my most powerful deeds in my own perspective. I had a slave who fought against a man, and the man bit his companion's finger and broke it. He then said, "Would you let your hand devour him?" He (the slave) replied, "I assume that it would devour him as a female camel devours (grass)."
[Machine] As the Prophet ﷺ was on a journey, wearing a protective garment from the sun, a man approached him wearing a cloak with a cover of saffron, and he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have made an oath of 'Umrah (pilgrimage), and people are mocking me. What should I do?" The Prophet ﷺ remained silent and did not answer him. While he was like that, 'Umar gestured to me with his hand, so I entered with him under the protective garment. Then, I saw that the Prophet ﷺ had a red face and his cheeks were bright for a moment, then it went away from him. He sat down and said, "Where is the one who asked about 'Umrah (pilgrimage)?" The man went up to him and he said, "Take off this cloak from you, and what you used to do in your Hajj (pilgrimage) when you made an oath, do it in your 'Umrah (pilgrimage)."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah loves modesty and concealment."
[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ arrived, he performed Tawaf around the Kaaba, while wearing a wrap made of Hadrami fabric.
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah loves concealment, so when any one of you performs Ghusl let him conceal himself with something.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 407)
8.157 [Machine] Abdulrahman bin Abi Qurad
[Machine] I went out with the Prophet ﷺ on a pilgrimage and I saw him coming out of the toilet, so I followed him with a container or a pot. I sat for him on the way, and when he finished his need, he went far away.
8.158 [Machine] Two men came to the Prophet ﷺ
two men told him, that they came to the Messenger of Allah asking him for charity. He looked from one to the other and he saw that they were strong. The Messenger of Allah said: "If you want, I will give you, but no rich man or one who is strong and able to earn has a share of it." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2598)
[Machine] Two men told me that they came to the Prophet ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He then mounted and mentioned the hadith to them.
8.159 [Machine] Dhu'aib Abi Qubaysah
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to send out meat and would say, "If there is anything wrong with it, then fear for it, so sacrifice it and dip its sandal in its blood and strike its surface, and do not eat from it, neither you nor anyone from your companions."
[Machine] He informed him that the Prophet ﷺ sent him with two sacks and commanded him that if they were presented to him or became defective, he should slaughter them, then dip their sandals in their blood, then strike each sandal on its flat surface and leave it for the people to take, and neither he nor any of his companions should eat from it. Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Jaruja said: (He said this as a messenger, meaning it was narrated to him by Ma'mar from Qatadah), then I wrote it for him from the book of Sa'id, so I gave it to him and he looked at it and read it, then he said: Yes, but I fear if I do not look in the book.
8.160 [Machine] Mohammed bin Muslimah Al-Ansari.
Muhammad bin Salamah said: “I proposed marriage to a woman, then I hid and waited to see her until I saw her among some date palm trees that belonged to her.” It was said to him: “Do you do such a thing when you are a companion of the Messenger of Allah?” He said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: 'When Allah causes a man to propose to a woman, there is nothing wrong with him looking at her.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1864)
[Machine] "I saw Muhammad bin Muslimah chasing after Subaytah, the daughter of Dahhak and the sister of Abijabirah bin Dahhak while she was residing with them, so he mentioned the hadith."
[Machine] Did anyone of you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding this matter? Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah got up and said, "I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in her favor with one-sixth." He then asked, "Did anyone of you hear this ruling from him?" Muhammad ibn Muslimah got up and said, "I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in her favor with one-sixth." Abu Bakr then gave her one-sixth.
[Machine] Your cousin, meaning the Prophet ﷺ , handed me a sword and said, "Fight with it as the enemies are fought. When you see people killing each other, purposefully aim it towards a rock and strike with it. Then stay in your house until death comes to you, whether it is a just verdict or an accidental hand." He said, "Leave him alone."
[Machine] The grandmother came to Abu Bakr to ask him about her inheritance. He said, "I do not know anything for you in the Book of Allah, and I do not know anything for you in the practice of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , until I ask the people." So he asked, and Al-Mughira ibn Shu'ba said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , allocate to her one sixth." He said, "Who will testify with you? Or who knows with you?" So Muhammad ibn Muslimah stood up and said something similar, so he executed it for her. And Isaac ibn Isa said, "Do you have anyone other than yourself?"
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When Allah casts a love for a woman in the heart of a man, it is not wrong for him to look at her."
[Machine] "Indeed, people have done what they have done, so what do you see? My friend Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ advised me, if you come across any of these trials, to go to a mountain and break your sword with it, then return to your home. He said, if someone enters your house, go to the side room. And if the side room is entered, fall on your knees and say 'My sin and your sin!'. And you will be among the inhabitants of the Fire. And that is the punishment of the wrongdoers. So, I have broken my sword and stayed in my home."
8.161 [Machine] Atiya Al-Saadi
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The giving hand is better than the receiving hand."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the ruler becomes tyrannical, the devil gains control."
[Machine] "When a man entered upon him and spoke to him in a manner that angered him, he said, 'When he became angry, he stood up, then returned to us having performed ablution. He then said, 'My father narrated to me from Atiyyah who had companionship with him. He said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, anger is from Satan, and indeed, Satan was created from fire. And indeed, only water extinguishes fire. So if one of you becomes angry, let him perform ablution.'"
8.162 [Machine] All Hadiths of Asid bin Hudair
[Machine] Muawiyah wrote to him that if any man is stolen from, he has the right to claim it and take it back from the thief, wherever he finds it. He said, "So I wrote to Marwan that the Prophet ﷺ ruled that if the one who bought it from the thief is not accused, the owner should have the choice. If he wishes, he can take it back at the price he paid, and if he wishes, he can pursue the thief." He said, "And Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman ruled the same."

[Machine] Ma'rwan ibn al-Hakam, Mu'awiyah wrote a letter saying, "When a man is stolen from, mention the hadith."

Several virtues of exalting Allah after Fajr and Maghrib prayers
from by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whoever says before leaving and getting up from the Maghrib and Fajr prayers:
lā ilāha illā Allāhu, waḥdahū, lā sharīka lahū, lahū al-mulku, wa-lahū al-ḥamdu, bi-yadihī al-khayr, yuḥyī wa-yumītu, wa-huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr
(There is no god but Allah, alone, without partners. Him is the sovereignty and to Him is the praise. In His hand is all good. He gives life and He gives death, and He has Power over everything.)
... ten times: (1) ten good deeds will be recorded for him, and (2) ten bad deeds will be erased from him, and (3) he will be raised ten degrees, and (4) it will also be a protection for him against every disliked thing, and (5) a protection from the accursed Satan, and (6) no sin will reach him except shirk (associating partners with Allah), and (7) he will be among the best of people in terms of deeds, except for a person who does better than him in what he says."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the adulterous man. He replied, "He is the one with a strong appetite, the one who consumes food and drink excessively, the one who is unjust to people. His stomach is always hungry."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, a branch of the Children of Israel perished in such a way that their destruction remains unknown. And I fear that you may end up in this mist."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who backbites, spreads false rumors, and the prostitute will not enter Paradise." He said, "It is written in the book of my father."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to Abu Bakr and Umar, "If you both were to gather in consultation, I would not go against both of you."
[Machine] It is narrated that Ad-Dari used to present a container of wine to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ every year. However, when it was declared forbidden, he brought a container of wine and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at it, he laughed and said, "Did you think that it was prohibited after you?" Ad-Dari replied, "O Messenger of Allah, should I not sell it and benefit from its price?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "May Allah curse the Jews, may Allah curse the Jews, may Allah curse the Jews. They transformed what was forbidden for them of cow and sheep fats into liquid and made it a commodity, and they sold it for their own consumption. Indeed, wine is forbidden, and its price is also forbidden."

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ is the best of the servants of Allah, those who, when they are seen, remember Allah. And the worst of the servants of Allah are those who walk with slander, separating between loved ones, the unjust, the sinful."

8.165 [Machine] Aqli bin Ma'bad al-Asadi descended upon Raqqa
[Machine] I heard Wabisah ibn Ma'bad, a companion of the Prophet ﷺ , saying: "I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about righteousness and sin. He said, 'You came to ask about righteousness and sin?' I said, 'By Him who sent you with the truth, I did not come to ask about anything else.' He said, 'Righteousness is that which brings peace to the heart, and sin is that which disturbs the soul, even if people give you a fatwa (religious verdict) declaring it permissible.'"
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man praying alone behind the row. He ordered him to repeat. Sulayman ibn Harb said: The prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 682)
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the intention of not leaving anything regarding righteousness and sin without asking him about it. Whenever there was a congregation around him, I would pass by them and they would say, "Go to him, O Wabisah, and ask him." So, I would say, "I am Wabisah, let me get closer to him, for it is more beloved to me to get closer to him." Then he ﷺ said to me, "Come closer, O Wabisah, come closer, O Wabisah." So, I got closer to him until my knees touched his knees. Then he said, "O Wabisah, shall I inform you of what you came to ask me about or shall you ask me?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform me." He said, "You came to ask me about righteousness and sin?" I said, "Yes." So, he clasped his three fingers together and tapped them on my chest, and said, "O Wabisah, consult your heart regarding righteousness, for it is that which the heart finds contentment with, and consult your soul regarding sin, for it is that which causes doubts in the chest. And if the people give you their opinion and you give them yours..."

“Ziyad bin Abu-Ja’d took me by the hand and made me stand near an old man at Raqqah, whose name was Wabisah bin Ma’bad. He said: ‘A man performed prayer behind the row on his own, and the Prophet ﷺ commanded him to repeat the prayer.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1004)

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I wanted to not leave anything of good or sin without asking him about it. There was a group of Muslims consulting him, so I tried to pass by them. They said, "O Wabisa, come and ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." I said, "Leave me, for I prefer to be close to him than anyone else." They said, "Let Wabisa come closer, O Wabisa, come closer two or three times." So I approached him until I sat in front of him. He said, "O Wabisa, shall I inform you or do you want to ask me?" I said, "No, inform me." He said, "You came to ask me about good and sin." I said, "Yes." He clenched his fingers and tapped on my chest saying, "O Wabisa, consult your heart and consult your soul three times.
