[Machine] He informed him that the Prophet ﷺ sent him with two sacks and commanded him that if they were presented to him or became defective, he should slaughter them, then dip their sandals in their blood, then strike each sandal on its flat surface and leave it for the people to take, and neither he nor any of his companions should eat from it. Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Jaruja said: (He said this as a messenger, meaning it was narrated to him by Ma'mar from Qatadah), then I wrote it for him from the book of Sa'id, so I gave it to him and he looked at it and read it, then he said: Yes, but I fear if I do not look in the book.
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَ مَعَهُ بِبَدَنَتَيْنِ وَأَمَرَهُ إِنْ عَرَضَ لَهُمَا شَيْءٌ أَوْ عُطِبَتَا أَنْ يَنْحَرَهُمَا ثُمَّ يَغْمِسَ نِعَالَهُمَا فِي دِمَائِهِمَا ثُمَّ يَضْرِبَ بِنَعْلِ كُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ صَفْحَتَهَا وَيُخْلِيَهَا لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا يَأْكُلَ مِنْهَا هُوَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَكَانَ يَقُولُهُ مُرْسَلًا يَعْنِي مَعْمَرًا عَنْقَتَادَةَ ثُمَّ كَتَبْتُهُ لَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ سَعِيدٍ فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ فَنَظَرَ فَقَرَأَهُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَلَكِنِّي أَهَابُ إِذَا لَمْ أَنْظُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ
