The Prophet ﷺ said: Those who do not show mercy to our young ones and do not realise the right of our elders are not from us.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا وَيَعْرِفْ حَقَّ كَبِيرِنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا

" He is not one of us who does not have mercy upon our young, respect our elders, and command good and forbid evil."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا وَيُوَقِّرْ كَبِيرَنَا وَيَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever does not take from his mustache, then he is not from us."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِنْ شَارِبِهِ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever does not trim his mustache, he is not from one of us.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ شَارِبَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used not to perform Wudu' after Ghusl."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بَعْدَ الْغُسْلِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not perform Wudu' after Ghusl."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بَعْدَ الْغُسْلِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'Whoever does not take from his mustache, he is not one of us.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ شَارِبَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young ones and recognize the rights of our elders."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا وَيَعْرِفْ حَقَّ كَبِيرِنَا

[AI] The translation of the Arabic phrase "أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْ حَقَّ كَبِيرِنَا وَيَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا" into English is "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'He is not one of us who does not recognize the rights of our elders and have mercy upon our young ones.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْ حَقَّ كَبِيرِنَا وَيَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ

There is no transitive disease, no ill omen, no ghoul. Note: The majority of scholars interpret this to mean that these things in and of themselves do not transmit or cause harm through supernatural or hidden means but that Allah is ultimately in control and any fearful superstition around these is false. [AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who fasts."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ السَّائِمَةُ

“If anyone of you is charged with taking care of his brother (after death), let him shroud him well.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1474)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ وَلِيَ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The water of Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَاءُ زَمْزَمَ لِمَا شُرِبَ مِنْهُ

[AI] "On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, “Whoever does not take from his companion’s drink is not one of us.”

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever does not take from his mustache is not one of us."

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witr (an odd number of units in the night prayer) is a duty, so whoever does not perform it is not from us." He repeated this statement three times.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَتْرُ حَقٌّ فَمَنْ لَمْيُوتِرْ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever does not shave his pubic hair, trim his nails, and clean his moustache, is not one of us."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَحْلِقْ عَانَتَهُ وَيُقَلِّمْ أَظْفَارَهُ وَيَجُزَّ شَارِبَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا

his father said: I heard Messenger of Allah saying: "There are no two Witr in one night." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا وِتْرَانِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used not to perform Wudu' after Ghusl." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 252)

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا وَيَعْرِفْ حَقَّ كَبِيرِنَا»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witr (the nightly odd numbered prayer) is a right (that it should be performed)." Then the narrated something similar.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ» فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wakes up in the morning and has not performed the Witr prayer, let them perform it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَصْبَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلَمْ يُوتِرْ فَلْيُوتِرْ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witr (odd-numbered prayers) is a right, so whoever does not perform Witr is not among us."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ فَمَنْ لَمْ يُوتِرْ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Whoever takes the first seven verses of the Quran, they are the best."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَخَذَ السَّبْعَ الْأُوَلَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who steals, robs, or signals towards theft." Bukhari cited Abu Kudaynah Yahya ibn al-Muhallab as evidence.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنِ انْتَهَبَ أَوْ سَلَبَ أَوْ أَشَارَ بِالسَّلَبِ» قَدِ احْتَجَّ الْبُخَارِيُّ بِأَبِي كُدَيْنَةَ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ «وَ

“Whoever drinks wine in this world, he will not drink it in the Hereafter.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3374)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَمْ يَشْرَبْهَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever deceives us is not one of us, and deception and trickery are in the fire."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ غَشَّنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا وَالْمَكْرُ وَالْخِدَاعُ فِي النَّارِ»

‘It is not an act of righteousness to fast while traveling.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1664)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever does not trim his mustache, he is not from one of us.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 13)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ شَارِبَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever deceives us is not one of us, and deceit and trickery are in Hellfire."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ غَشَّنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا وَالْمَكْرُ وَالْخِدَاعُ فِي النَّارِ» *

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever takes us as targets with arrows of nobility is not amongst us."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ رَمَانَا بِالنَّبْلِ * فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever does not trim his mustache, he is not from one of us.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 13)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِنْ شَارِبِهِ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , he said, "He is not one of us who does not show respect to our elders and have compassion for our youngsters."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَجِلَّ كَبِيرَنَا وَيَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show respect to our elders and have mercy on our youngsters is not one of us."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَمْ يُجِلَّ كَبِيرَنَا وَيَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»

Qays ibn Talq said: Talq ibn Ali visited us on a certain day during Ramadan. He remained with us till evening and broke fast with us. He then stood up and led us in the witr prayer. He then went to his mosque and led them in prayer. When the witr remained, he put forward another man and said: Lead your companions in the witr prayer, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: There are no two witrs during one night. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا وِتْرَانِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ»

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who steals, robs, or indicates towards theft."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنِ انْتَهَبَ أَوْ سَلَبَ أَوْ أَشَارَ بِالسَّلَبِ»
