The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witr (the nightly odd numbered prayer) is a right (that it should be performed)." Then the narrated something similar.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ» فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and so and so said?
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ فُلَانٌ؟
[AI] He heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), so he mentioned it in a similar way.
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ بِنَحْوِهِ
[AI] When the Messenger of Allah commanded the use of bells, he mentioned something similar.
لَمَّا أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالنَّاقُوسِ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2224)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ»
"I came to the Messenger of Allah" and he mentioned something similar. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4176)
أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
"There is no fara' and no' Atirah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4222)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا فَرَعَ وَلَا عَتِيرَةَ»
I do not eat while reclining. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3769)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا آكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا»
the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no marriage except with a guardian.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1881)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا نِكَاحَ إِلَّا بِوَلِيٍّ»
"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'The hand is not to be cut off for (stealing) produce or the spadix of palm trees."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4960)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلَا كَثَرٍ»
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: He then mentioned the rest of the tradition to the same effect as mentioned by Sufyan. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4540)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ الْحَدِيثِ
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Only a wrongdoer hoards." (It was said) twice.
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَحْتَكِرُ إِلَّا خَاطِئٌ» مَرَّتَيْنِ
[AI] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he mentioned something similar.
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I looked up and he mentioned something similar to it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اطَّلَعْتُ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4492)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
[AI] Regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he mentioned something similar to it.
عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a night off and mentioned its significance.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْتَمَ لَيْلَةً فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
[AI] I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Won't you marry my sister?" So he mentioned the narration.
قُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا تَزَوَّجُ أُخْتِي؟ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
[AI] "While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned its meaning with us."
بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention something similar.
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not hurt others, for Allah will cause harm to come upon you."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُوعِي فَيُوعِيَ اللهُ عَلَيْكِ
[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and mentioned something similar."
خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said in my house, so he mentioned its meaning.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِي فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying something similar to that.
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for us and mentioned us.
صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَهُ
"No one hoards but a sinner."' (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2154)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَحْتَكِرُ إِلَّا خَاطِئٌ
"No one hoards but a sinner."' (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2154)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَحْتَكِرُ إِلَّا خَاطِئٌ
[AI] His mother came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "So he mentioned its meaning with us."
أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
[AI] A partner praised him in his own way.
ثنا شَرِيكٌ فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ
[AI] About Hisham ibn Saad, he mentioned it in a similar manner.
عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ
[AI] Regarding Salman, he mentioned him in a similar manner.
عَنْ سَلْمَانَ فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ
The above mentioned tradition has also been transmitted in a similar manner by Ibn 'Abbas from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1491)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Odd numbers for prayers of Witr are either five, three, or one."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْوِتْرُ خَمْسٌ أَوْ ثَلَاثٌ أَوْ وَاحِدَةٌ»
[AI] That the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Witr (odd number of units for prayer) is a right (obligation)." So he mentioned it in this way and they left it.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ» فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِعدي تركوه
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wakes up in the morning and has not performed the Witr prayer, let them perform it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَصْبَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلَمْ يُوتِرْ فَلْيُوتِرْ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witr (odd-numbered prayers) is a right, so whoever does not perform Witr is not among us."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ فَمَنْ لَمْ يُوتِرْ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»
I heard Allah's Apostle ﷺ as saying. Every servant would be raised (in the same very state) in which he dies. (Using translation from Muslim 2878a)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يُبْعَثُ كُلُّ عَبْدٍ عَلَى مَا مَاتَ»
The Prophet ﷺ said: Islam does not allow for failure to perform the hajj. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1729)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا صَرُورَةَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ»
“I asked Jabir bin ‘Abdullah about hyenas: ‘Are they game (that can be hunted)?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Can I eat them?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Is this something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?’ He said: ‘Yes.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3236)
قُلْتُ أَيُؤْكَلُ الضَّبُعُ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قُلْتُ أَصَيْدٌ هِيَ؟ قَالَ أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»
The Prophet ﷺ said: Islam does not allow for failure to perform the hajj. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1729)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا صَرُورَةَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ»
“Being honorable is wealth and noble character is piety.’ (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4219)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْحَسَبُ الْمَالُ وَالْكَرَمُ التَّقْوَى»
the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no marriage except with a guardian.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1881)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا نِكَاحَ إِلَّا بِوَلِيِّ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُصَرِّحِ بِصِحَّةِ مَا أَسْنَدَ لِلنَّاسِ خَبَرُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَاهُ
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Remorse is repentance." He (the person being addressed) said, "Yes."
سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ»؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ
ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنِ اتِّخَاذِ الضَّيَاعِ إِذِ اتِّخَاذُهَا يُرَغِّبُ فِي الدُّنْيَا، إِلَّا مَنْ عَصَمَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا
"Do not take to the estate, such that you become desirous of the world." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2328)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الضَّيْعَةَ فَتَرْغَبُوا فِي الدُّنْيَا»
‘It is not an act of righteousness to fast while traveling.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1664)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ»
ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ الْعِيدِ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2224)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا صَوْمَ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ» *
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ كُلَّ شَرَابٍ حُكْمُهُ أَنْ يُسْكِرَ حَرَامٌ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ شُرْبُهُ
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Every intoxicant is unlawful.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3387)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ»
ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ تَرْكِ قَصِّ الشَّوَارِبِ مُخَالَفَةً لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِيهِ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever does not trim his mustache, he is not from one of us.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 13)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ شَارِبَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»
ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنِ الْوَشْمِ إِذِ الْفَاعِلُ وَالْمَفْعُولُ بِهِ ذَلِكَ مَلْعُونَانِ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The evil eye is a fact," and he forbade tattooing. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5944)
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ» وَنَهَى عَنِ الْوَشْمِ «
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, this epidemic is a form of punishment." And he mentioned the hadith.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ هَذَا الْوَبَاءَ رِجْزٌ» فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
"There is no Riba except in credit.' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4580)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا رِبًا إِلَّا فِي النَّسِيئَةِ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no riba (usury or interest), except in matters of indebtedness."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا رِبًا إِلَّا فِي الدِّينِ»
