[Machine] His companions, the slaves of Allah, said to him, "Indeed, the prince has sent you to ask you about the pond. Have you heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it?" He said, "Yes, I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention it. Whoever denies it, Allah will not let him drink from it."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite between sixty and one hundred verses in Al-Ghadah (Subh) prayer. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 948)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite between sixty and one hundred verses in Al-Ghadah (Subh) prayer. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 948)
[Machine] There was a traveling group with a camel or a donkey carrying some of their belongings, and there was a young girl with them. They found themselves in a narrow passage between two mountains, and the road became difficult for them. Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saw them and the young girl said, "Is there a solution? May Allah curse her!" The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , asked, "Who is the owner of this girl? Do not accompany us with a cursed camel, donkey, or any other animal."
My father and I went to Abi Barza Al-Aslami and my father said to him, "Tell us how Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer the compulsory congregational prayers." He said, "He used to pray the Zuhr prayer, which you call the first prayer, as the sun declined at noon, the ʿAsr at a time when one of US could go to his family at the farthest place in Medina while the sun was still hot. (The narrator forgot what Abu Barza had said about the Maghrib prayer), and the Prophet ﷺ preferred to pray the ʿIsha' late and disliked to sleep before it or talk after it. And he used to return after finishing the morning prayer at such a time when it was possible for one to recognize the person sitting by his side and he (the Prophet) used to recite 60 to 100 'Ayat' (verses) of the Qur'an in it." (Using translation from Bukhārī 599)
I said: Messenger of Allah, teach me something so that I may derive benefit from it. He said: Remove the troublesome thing from the paths of the Muslims. (Using translation from Muslim 2618a)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite the following supplication at the end of a gathering: "Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, ashhadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk." One of us said to him, "We have never heard you recite this supplication before." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "It is a form of seeking forgiveness for whatever occurred in the gathering."
[Machine] Abu Barzah was in Ahwaz, on the bank of a river, and he had a rein in his hand. He started to pray and the animal started to jerk. He kept delaying and a man from the Khawarij said, "O Allah! Humiliate this sheikh, how does he pray?" Abu Barzah said, "After I finished praying, I heard what you said. I fought in six or seven or eight expeditions with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and witnessed his orders and facilitation. Going back with my animal is easier for me than leaving it so that it would return to its familiar place, which would be difficult for me. Abu Barzah then performed the afternoon prayer of two units.
[Machine] I heard Abu Barzah say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man to a neighborhood of the Arab tribes, and they hit him and insulted him. So he returned to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him about it. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "If you had come to the people of Oman, they would neither have hit you nor insulted you."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Verily, one of the things I fear for you is the desires of misguidance in your stomachs, private parts, and the misconceptions of trials."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Indeed, one of the things I fear for you is the desires of falsehood within your stomachs and private parts, and the misleading inclinations of desires."
To the tribe of Aslam Allah has granted safety and to the tribe of Ghifar Allah has granted pardon. Verily it is not I that say this, but (it is) Allah the Exalted and Glorious. (who) says this. (Using translation from Muslim 2516)
[Machine] He was the most hated person or the most hated creature to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , Thaqif and the Banu Hanifa.
The Prophet ﷺ said: O community of people, who believed by their tongue, and belief did not enter their hearts, do not back-bite Muslims, and do not search for their faults, for if anyone searches for their faults, Allah will search for his fault, and if Allah searches for the fault of anyone, He disgraces him in his house. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4880)
[Machine] Abu Barzah narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, "The leaders from Quraysh, if they show mercy, they should be merciful, and if they make a promise, they should fulfill it, and if they judge, they should be just. Whoever among them does not do this, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a battle, and when he finished fighting, he asked, "Did you lose anyone?" They replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, we lost so-and-so and so-and-so." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But I lost Julaibib, so look for him." They searched for him and found him with seven men who had been killed, and then they killed him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and stood over him and said, "He killed seven and they killed him. He is from me and I am from him." He was then brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he laid him on his arm. He had no bedding except the arms of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he was buried, and it was not mentioned that he was washed.
[Machine] "I never thought I would live to see the day when I am criticized for keeping the company of Muhammad ﷺ . They say that my companion Muhammad is a simpleton. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say at the Pond (of Al-Kawthar), 'Whoever denies me, Allah will not allow them to drink from it.'"
[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when we heard two men singing and one of them responding to the other, saying, 'The long sea keeps waving its bones, the war has backed away from it so it can be buried.' The Prophet ﷺ asked, 'Who are they?' We replied, 'So-and-so and so-and-so.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'O Allah, reveal their secrets and leave them to the Fire.'"
Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked to sleep before the ʿIsha' prayer and to talk after it. (Using translation from Bukhārī 568)
[Machine] I entered with my father to Abi Barzah, and indeed, that day I had two earrings in my ears. And I was a young boy. He (Abi Barzah) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The rulers from the Quraysh are of three types: Some do acts of justice, they receive (their rewards) twice. One due to their justice and another due to their following enjoining of good and forbidding evil. And they receive a reward for it. And there is a type who does acts of injustice, and they receive two blames (due to their injustice) twice. One due to their injustice and another due to their not enjoining good and not forbidding evil. And so they bear the sin of it. And there is a type who does acts of injustice, so they bear the sin of that and another sin (that is) on the shoulders of the people (because of their actions).
"I used to wish that I could meet a man among the Companions of the Prophet [SAW] and ask him about the Khawarij. Then I met Abu Barzah on the day of 'Id, with a number of his companions. I said to him: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah [SAW] mention the Khawarij?' He said: 'Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] with my own ears, and saw him with my own eyes. Some wealth was brought to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and he distributed it to those on his right and on his left, but he did not give anything to those who were behind him. Then a man stood behind him and said: "O Muhammad! You have not been just in your division!" He was a man with black patchy (shaved) hair, wearing two white garments. So Messenger of Allah [SAW] became very angry and said: "By Allah! You will not find a man after me who is more just than me." Then he said: "A people will come at the end of time; as if he is one of them, reciting the Qur'an without it passing beyond their throats. They will go through Islam just as the arrow goes through the target. Their distinction will be shaving. They will not cease to appear until the last of them comes with Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal. So when you meet them, then kill them, they are the worst of created beings." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4103)

[Machine] "Julaibib used to enter upon women and interact with them. So I said to my wife, 'Julaibib should not enter upon you, for if he were to enter upon you, I am afraid that he would do something.' The Ansar would not marry off their daughters until they found out if there was any need for the Prophet, ﷺ , in her. So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to a man from the Ansar, 'Marry your daughter to me.' He said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah, this is certainly an honor.' The Prophet, ﷺ , said, 'I don't want her for myself, but I want her for Julaibib.' The man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, for Julaibib?' He said, 'Yes, for Julaibib.' So he consulted her mother, and when the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came, he informed her of what her mother had said. She said, 'Julaibib, is it him?' She repeated this three times. 'Yes, by Allah, for I will not marry him.' So when he wanted to stand up to inform the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , of what she had said, the girl said, 'Who proposed to me to you?' Her mother informed her. She said, 'Are you rejecting the command of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ?' Push me, for he has not disappointed me.' So her father went to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and informed him. He said, 'What is your opinion about her?' Then he married her to Julaibib. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , went on a campaign, and when Allah granted them victory, he asked his companions, 'Have you lost anyone?' They said, 'We have lost so-and-so, and we have lost so-and-so.' He said, 'Look, have you lost anyone?' They said, 'No.' He said, 'But I have lost Julaibib.' So seek him among the slain.' They searched for him until they found him beside seven men he had killed, and then they killed him.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, here he is, beside seven men he had killed, and then they killed him.' So the Prophet, ﷺ , stood over him and said, 'He has killed seven and then they killed him. This one is from me and I am from him. This one is from me and I am from him.' He raised his head and placed him on his side, and there was no bed except that of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . Then he placed him in his grave. It is not mentioned that he was bathed. Thabit said, 'Wealth that the Ansar had would be spent but they did not find anyone who narrated about it in this world except Hammad bin Salamah. How well he narrated it.'"

Messenger of Allah, I do not know whether I would survive after you, so confer upon me something by which Allah should benefit me. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do this and that and remove the troublesome things from the paths. (Using translation from Muslim 2618b)

[Machine] One day, I went out for a walk and suddenly found myself with the Prophet ﷺ , facing him. I thought that he wanted something, so I tried to keep my distance and avoid him. But he saw me and gestured towards me, so I approached him. He took my hand and we started walking together. Suddenly, we came across a man who was praying and performing a lot of bows and prostrations. The Prophet ﷺ asked me, "Do you think he is showing off?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He then extended his hand, placed it between my palms, and brought them closer together. He lifted them towards his shoulders and then lowered them, repeating the action three times. After that, he said, "May guidance be upon you, intending to make you focus." It was narrated by Yazid Ibn Buraidah Al-Aslami, who heard it from Abu Barzah. Then Yazid later returned to Buraidah and narrated this incident to Waki' and Muhammad Ibn Bakr, who said that Buraidah Al-Aslami said this.

[Machine] There was a traveler, a camel, or a donkey carrying supplies for a group of people. They were passing through a narrow route between two mountains and there was a stream flowing along it. The road became narrow and difficult for the group, so the Prophet ﷺ noticed them. They were distressed and began saying, "Hil, hil! O Allah, damn her (the camel), or damn him!" So the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not accompany me if you have a camel, a traveler, or a donkey carrying supplies on which there is a curse from Allah."

[Machine] "I saw an old man in Ahwaz praying Asr (afternoon prayer) with the reins of his beast in his hand and it kept lagging behind, so he was pulling it along with him. There was a man sitting from the Khawarij who was insulting him. When he finished his prayer, he said, 'I have heard your conversation. I have participated in six or seven battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and witnessed his affairs and facilitation. So I bring my beast back with me, as it is more beloved to me than leaving it behind and coming back to fetch it, which would be difficult for me.' The man asked, 'How many units of prayer did he perform?' The old man replied, 'Two units.' The man said, 'And he is Abu Burzah.'"

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to recite from chapters sixty to one hundred, meaning in the morning.
[Machine] I heard Abu Barzah Al-Aslami say, "I killed Abdullah bin Khatl while he was holding onto the cover of the Kaaba."

[Machine] "And I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , 'O Messenger of Allah, direct me to a deed that I may do.' He replied, 'Remove harm from the path, for it is a form of charity for you.'"
"I entered upon Abu Barzah, and my fatehr asked him: 'How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray the prescribed prayers?' He said: 'He used to pray Zuhr, which you call Al-Uula (the first) when the sun passed its zenith; he used to pray 'Asr when one of us could go back to his hoome in the farthest part of Al-Madinah while the sun was still bright.' I forgot what he said about Maghrib. 'And he used to like to delay 'Isha', which you call Al-'Atamah, and he did not like to sleep before it nor talk after it. And he used to finish the Al-Ghadah (Fajr) prayer when a man could recognize his neighbor, and he used to recite (in it) between sixty and one hundred verses.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 525)

[Machine] "I came to Abu Barzah and said, 'Did the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , ever stone someone?' He replied, 'Yes, a man from among us, Ma'iz bin Malik.' He said, 'A spirit, Musawir bin Ubayd Al-Himmani, narrated this.'"
[Machine] Abu Al-Wazi' narrated that a man from the Banu Rasib said, "I heard Abu Barzah say, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a messenger to a tribe from the tribes of the Arabs regarding something that the guide did not know. So they insulted him and beat him. He complained about that to the Prophet ﷺ , and he said, 'If you were from the people of Oman, they would not have insulted you or beaten you.'"

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a messenger to a tribe from the tribes of the Arabs, and he mentioned its likeness."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to delay the night prayer (Isha) until one-third of the night had passed, and he disliked sleeping before it and engaging in conversation after it. He used to recite in the Fajr prayer (dawn) from one hundred to sixty verses. When he finished the prayer, he would leave and some of us would recognize the face of others.

[Machine] "And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca, 'The people are safe, except for 'Abdul 'Uzza ibn Khatal.'"
[Machine] "And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'I have a pond between Ayla and Sana'a, with a width equal to its length. It has two spouts, one made of leaves from Paradise, and the other made of gold, sweeter than honey and cooler than snow, and whiter than milk. Whoever drinks from it will never feel thirst until they enter Paradise. Inside it are pitchers as numerous as the stars in the sky."
[Machine] I entered with my father to see Abu Barzah al-Aslami, and indeed, on that day I had two earrings in my ears. He said, "Indeed, I am a young boy." Abu Barzah said, "I thank Allah that I have become one of the leaders of this tribe from Quraysh. So-and-so here is fighting for worldly gains, and so-and-so here is also fighting for worldly gains," meaning Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan. He continued until he mentioned Ibn Al-Azraq. Then he said, "Indeed, the most beloved people to me are this group covered with white garments, their stomachs filled with the wealth of the Muslims, and their backs protected by their blood." He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The leaders are from Quraysh, the leaders are from Quraysh, the leaders are from Quraysh. They have rights over me and you have rights over them. They did three things: when they ruled, they did justice; when they signed agreements, they fulfilled them; and when they promised, they kept their word. Whoever does not do that among them, then upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.'"

[Machine] "I heard the Prophet ﷺ mention the pond, saying, 'Yes, not once but twice. Whoever denies it, Allah will deprive him of drinking from it.'"
[Machine] "The narrator Yunus al-Harithi said: 'I wish I had seen a man from the companions of Muhammad ﷺ who would tell me about the Khawarij. So, I met Abu Barza along with a group of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ and I said to him, 'Tell me something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the Khawarij.' He said, 'I will tell you something that I heard with my own ears and saw with my own eyes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given some Dinars and he divided them. Then, a man with disheveled hair, Adam or Aswad, came with the mark of prostration between his eyes. He had two white garments. He approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from his right side and presented himself to him, but he was not given anything. He said, 'O Muhammad! What kind of distribution is this?' He became extremely angry and said, 'By Allah! After me, you will not find anyone more just to you than me, three times over.' Then he said, 'There will come out from the east, men whose appearance is similar to theirs. They recite the Quran but it does not go beyond their throats. They pass through the religion as an arrow passes through its target, then they do not return. Their characteristic is shaving their heads. They continuously go out and they will continue to emerge until the last of them joins the Dajjal. So when you meet them, kill them for they are the worst creatures of Allah and His creation.'"

[Machine] That I met a man from the companions of Muhammad ﷺ who told me about the Khawarij. So I met Abu Barzah on the day of Arafah, among a group of his companions, and he mentioned the narration.
[Machine] Julaibib was one of the Ansar (helpers of the Prophet ﷺ). When any of them had a single woman (unmarried daughter) who was not married, they would not marry her until they asked the Prophet ﷺ about her need. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to a man from the Ansar on one day, "Marry your daughter to me." He replied, "Yes, and what a blessing and grace this is for me." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "But for whom?" He replied, "For Julaibib." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, I do not desire her for myself." She asked, "Then for whom?" He said, "For Julaibib." She said, "She would be a small portion for him, for the sake of Allah, I will not marry Julaibib."
When her father got up to go to the Prophet ﷺ, the girl said to her mother from her chamber, "Who has proposed to me to both of you?" Her mother replied, "The Prophet ﷺ." The girl said, "So you both reject the order of the Prophet ﷺ? Take me to the Prophet ﷺ, for he will not let me go astray." So her father went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "What do you want with her?" The Prophet ﷺ married her to Julaibib. While the Prophet ﷺ was on a military expedition and Allah granted him victory, he asked, "Has anyone been lost?" They replied, "Yes, so and so and so and so." The Prophet ﷺ said, "But I (also) lost Julaibib, look for him among the dead." So they looked for him and found him with seven dead (enemy soldiers) beside him. Then they killed him. The Prophet ﷺ stood up and said, "He killed seven, then they killed him. He is one of us and we are those of him." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ carried him on his two arms and there was no bedding for him except the arms of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until they dug a grave for him and placed him in it. And it was not mentioned that he was washed.

[Machine] My father and I entered upon Abu Barzah and asked him about the timing of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He said, "He used to pray Dhuhr when the sun declined, and Asr when the man returned to the farthest part of the city while the sun was still bright, and Maghrib when it was actually set, and he said that I forgot Isha, whether it was in one of the two Rak'ahs or in both of them. And he would not like to sleep before it, and would have conversations after it. And he would pray Fajr and then the man would leave, recognizing the face of his companion. And he would recite in it from the sixtieth to the hundredth verse." He said, "I forgot whether it was in one of the two Rak'ahs or in both of them."

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to get up from the assembly he used to say in the last. Glory be to Thee. O Allah, and I begin with praise of Thee, I testify that there is no god but Thou; I ask Thy pardon, and return to Thee in repentance. The man asked: Messenger of Allah! you utter the words now which you did not do in the past? He replied: (This is an) atonement for what takes place in the assembly.
