[Machine] While we were with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ on a path from the city, he said, "How do you behave during a turmoil that erupts in the lands as if it were the barking of a cow?" They said, "What do you advise us, O Prophet of Allah?" He said, "Follow this (indicating himself) and his companions, or adhere to this (indicating someone else) and his companions." So I hurried until I became tired and caught up with the man, and I said, "Is this, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "This is Uthman ibn Affan." And he indicated to him and his companions.  

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ فِي طَرِيقٍ مِنْ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُونَ فِي فِتْنَةٍ تَثُورُ فِي أَقْطَارِ الْأَرْضِ كَأَنَّهَا صَيَاصِي بَقَرٍ؟ قَالُوا نَصْنَعُ مَاذَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ؟ قَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ هَذَا وَأَصْحَابَهُ أَوْ اتَّبِعُوا هَذَا وَأَصْحَابَهُ قَالَ فَأَسْرَعْتُ حَتَّى عَيِيتُ فَلَحِقْتُ الرَّجُلَ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ هَذَا فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ فَقَالَ هَذَا وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَذَكَرَهُ
