10. Baṣrans (1/27)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, there will be deceivers before the Day of Judgment."
[Machine] He heard Jabir ibn Samurah saying: The Prophet ﷺ was brought a short man wearing an Izar (lower garment) without a cloak. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was reclining on a pillow on his left side. He spoke to him, and I do not know what he said to him, while I was far away from him and there were people between me and him. He said: Take him away. Then he said: Bring him back. He spoke to him, and I could hear him. He said: Take him away and stone him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to deliver a sermon, and I could hear him. He said: Whenever we go out in the cause of Allah, one of us has a nanny goat like the nanny goat of a goat, which gives her abundant milk. By Allah, I cannot keep any of them except that I am affectionate towards her.
The Mu'adh-dhin of Messenger of Allah would wait and he would not call the Iqamah until he saw the Messenger of Allah had come out, he would call the Iqamah when he saw him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 202)
[Machine] From the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: The religion will continue to exist until there are twelve caliphs from the Quraysh. Then, liars will appear before the Hour comes. Then, a group of Muslims will come out and bring out the treasure of the white palace. They will defeat the Persians and the descendants of the Persians. And when Allah bestows goodness upon one of you, let them begin with themselves and their family. And I am the one who will be at the forefront on the Day of Resurrection.
[Machine] When we used to pray behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we would greet with "peace be upon you" using our right and left hands. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What is the matter with some people who throw their hands as if they were the tails of horses? Shouldn't one of you settle down and indicate with his hand towards his thigh, then greet his companion on his right and left?"
[Machine] From the white hair of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "There were hairs on his head that, when he would apply oil to his head, they would not become visible, and when he would not apply oil, they would become visible."
[Machine] Jabir heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the noon prayer "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la" and similar (verses), and in the morning prayer he used to recite longer than that."
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Seek Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) in the last ten nights [of Ramadan]."
I said to Jabir in Samrah, "Have you sat with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?" Jabir said, "Yes, and he would observe silence for long periods of time and seldom laugh. His companions would mention poetry in his presence and some of their affairs. They would laugh and smile at times."
[Machine] A man asked Prophet Muhammad, "Can I perform ablution with the meat of sheep?" He replied, "No." The man asked, "Can I pray in the sheep's pens?" The Prophet said, "Yes." The man asked, "Can I perform ablution with the meat of camels?" The Prophet said, "Yes." The man asked, "Can I pray in the places where camels urinate?" The Prophet replied, "No."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a deep-set and penetrating gaze.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to deliver his sermons while standing and would sit between the sermons and recite verses and remind the people.
[Machine] " I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during his farewell pilgrimage: 'Verily, this religion will always remain apparent and no one will harm it by opposing or deviating from it until twelve caliphs have passed from my Ummah.' Then he said something that I did not understand, so I asked my father, 'What did he say?' He replied, 'All of them will be from the Quraysh.'"
[Machine] "So a she-camel belonging to them or others died, and the Prophet ﷺ granted them permission to consume it. He said that it would provide them with sustenance for the remaining part of their journey or year."
[Machine] He heard Jabir bin Samurah saying that a man died during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Then a man came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so has died." He (the Prophet) said, "He did not die?" Then someone came to him for the second time, and then the third time, informing him again. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How did he die?" He replied, "He killed himself with a sharp object." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not offer the funeral prayer for him."
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during the Farewell Pilgrimage, "This religion will continue to be dominant as long as there are those who follow it. No opponent or seceder will harm it until the passage of all twelve leaders from my Ummah." Then my father whispered to me the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. My father was closer to the ride of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than me and I said, "Dear father, what did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ whisper?" He said, "All of them will be from the Quraysh ˹tribe˺."
“I heard Jabir bin Samurah say: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to deliver the sermon standing, but he used to sit down briefly, then stand up.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1105)
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Indeed, before the Hour, there will be liars." I said, "Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "They are speakers of false statements."
[Machine] He asked Jabir bin Samura how the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to behave when he prayed the dawn prayer. He replied, "He would sit in his place until the sun rose."
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: There would lie open for a group of Muslims, or for a group of believers, the treasures of the family of Kisra which would be in the white (palace). In a version of Qutaiba there is definitely the word "Muslim". (Using translation from Muslim 2919b)
[Machine] And I heard him say, "Indeed, Allah named the city as Taiba."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Before the Hour there will be liars."
[Machine] Hamad ibn Salama said, "There is a she-camel owned by a man." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to seek advice from him. Jabir ibn Samura claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the owner of the she-camel, "Don't you have anything that would suffice you instead of her?" He replied, "No." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Go and eat it." Abu Abdullah Al-Sawab said, "A correct narration mentions a she-camel."
[Machine] I heard a man ask the Prophet ﷺ , "Can I pray in the same clothes that I wear with my family?" He replied, "Yes, as long as there is nothing impure on them, you can pray in them."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in the obligatory prayer, without prolonging it or rushing through it. He would not make it too long or too short. He would delay the Isha prayer.
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon while standing. Whoever tells you that he saw him delivering a sermon while sitting is lying. However, it is possible that he went out and saw the people in a small number, so he sat down, then they yawned, and then he stood up and delivered the sermon.
I recognise the stone in Mecca which used to pay me salutations before my advent as a Prophet and I recognise that even now. (Using translation from Muslim 2277)
Jabir b. Samura reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ postponed the last 'Isha' prayer. (Using translation from Muslim 643a)
I wrote (a letter) to Jabir b. Samura and sent it to him through my servant Nafi', asking him to inform me of something he had heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He wrote to me (in reply): I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say on Friday evening, the day on which al-Aslami was stoned to death (for committing adultery): The Islamic religion will continue until the Hour has been established, or you have been ruled over by twelve Caliphs, all of them being from the Quraish. also heard him say: A small force of the Muslims will capture the white palace, the police of the Persian Emperor or his descendants. I also heard him say: Before the Day of Judgment there will appear (a number of) impostors. You are to guard against them. I also heard him say: When God grants wealth to any one of you, he should first spend it on himself and his family (and then give it in charity to the poor). I heard him (also) say: I will be your forerunner at the Cistern (expecting your arrival). (Using translation from Muslim 1822a)
Obscenity and vulgarity are not part of Islam
I was in a gathering with the Prophet ﷺ and Abū Samurah was in front of me. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, obscenity and vulgarity are not part of Islam. Verily, the best people in Islam are those with the best character."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "There are three things that I fear for my Ummah: seeking rain through wrong means, oppressive rulers, and denying predestination."
"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering the Khutbah standing up, then he sat down for a while and did not speak, then he stood up and delivered another Khutbah. Whoever tells you that the Prophet ﷺ delivered a Khutbah sitting do not believe him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1583)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for the son of Al-Dahdah and Hajjaj mentioned him. Then, a horse with a taut rein was brought and a man from the people managed it and he began trotting with it, with us following behind him. A man from the people said that the Prophet ﷺ said, "How many ripe dates are there hanging or laid flat in Paradise for the son of Al-Dahdah?" Hajjaj said in his narration, a man among us was with Jabir bin Samurah in a gathering, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How many ripe dates are laid flat for the son of Al-Dahdah in Paradise?"
I saw the seal on his back as if it were a pigeon's egg. (Using translation from Muslim 2344c)
[Machine] I heard Prophet Muhammad ﷺ saying: "There will be twelve leaders." Then he said a word that I did not hear. Then the people said, "They are all from Quraysh."
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Shouldn't one of you fear that when he raises his head in prayer, his gaze does not return to him?"
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Islam will remain exalted until there are twelve caliphs." Then, he uttered a secret word.
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: "Before the Day of Judgment, there will be many liars."
[Machine] There was no gray hair in the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except for strands at the parting of his head, when he applied oil, they would appear oily.
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say in the Farewell Pilgrimage: "This religion will always remain visible to those who embrace it, and no divergent or disunited person will harm it, until twelve leaders from my nation pass away, all of them from the Quraysh." He ﷺ then said, "And my father was closer to that time than me. So I asked him, 'O my father, what was hidden from me in the statement of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?' He said, 'He said they will all be from the Quraysh.'"
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to deliver the sermon standing, then he would sit down, then stand and preach standing. If anyone tells you he preached sitting, he is lying. I swear by Allah that I offered along with more than two thousand prayers. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1093)
[Machine] About the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "He used to lighten the prayer and not perform the prayer of these people." He also informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the Fajr prayer Surah Qaf and other similar Surahs from the Noble Quran.
I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you have the privilege of sitting in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: Yes, very frequently, and added: He did not stand up (and go) from the place where he offered the dawn prayer until the sun rose, and after the rising of the sun he stood up, and they (his Companions) entered into conversation with one another and they talked of the things (that they did during the Days of Ignorance), and they laughed (on their unreasonable and ridiculous acts). Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled only. (Using translation from Muslim 2322)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sit in his prayer place after performing the Fajr prayer until the sun rises. And he used to recite the chapters "Qaf" (Chapter 50) and "The Noble Qur'an" (Chapter 56) in the Fajr prayer. And his prayers were done with some lightening.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to deliver the Friday sermon while standing. So, whoever told you that he sat, then consider it false. Jabir said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would deliver two sermons. He would deliver the first sermon, then sit, then stand again to deliver the second sermon. The sermon of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his prayer were separate.
I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayers on two I'ds wore than once or twice without there being Adhan and Iqama. (Using translation from Muslim 887)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ reported that a man had killed himself, so he said, "Therefore, I will not pray upon him."
[Machine] Bilal used to call for prayer (adhan) when the sun set, he would not delay it, and he would not establish the prayer until the Prophet ﷺ came out. Then, when the Prophet ﷺ came out, Bilal would establish the prayer as soon as he saw him.
[Machine] The muezzin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to call the Adhan, then he would wait before establishing the prayer until he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ coming out, then he would establish it.
Jabir b. Samura said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to deliver the sermon while standing. He would then sit down and then stand up and address in a standing posture; and whoever informed you that he (the Holy Prophet) delivered the sermon while sitting told a lie. By Allah. I prayed with him more than two thousand times. (Using translation from Muslim 862b)
