10. Baṣrans (2/27)
[Machine] Bilal used to call for prayer (adhan) when sunrise came, but he wouldn't establish (i.e., start) the prayer until he saw the Prophet ﷺ . When he (Bilal) saw him (the Prophet), he would establish the prayer.
"I sat with the Prophet ﷺ more than one-hundred times. His Companions used to recite poetry and talk about things that occurred during Jahiliyyah, and he would remain silent, and sometimes he would smile along with them." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2850)
[Machine] "A goat came and admitted before the Prophet ﷺ four times, so he ordered his stoning."
When we came to the Prophet ﷺ, each one would sit down where there was room. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4825)
the Prophet ﷺ stoned a Jewish man and a Jewish woman. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2557)
[Machine] And he said, "There was no Adhan (call to prayer) for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the two Eids."
"A man killed himself, so the Prophet did not perform Salat over him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1068)
[Machine] This religion continues to exist, and a group fights against it until the Hour is established. I (Shariq) heard this from my brother Ibrahim ibn Harb. I asked Shariq, "Who did he mention? Was it about you?" He replied, "No, it was from Jabir ibn Samurah."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , or he said, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "There will be twelve caliphs after me, all of them from Quraysh." He then returned to his house and Quraysh came to him and asked, "Then what will happen?" He said, "Then there will be turmoil."
[Machine] It was reported that a man committed suicide by stabbing himself with blades. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then I will not pray for him."
[Machine] "He said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'There will be twelve leaders after me, and I do not know what he said after that.' So, I asked all the people, and they all said, 'He said that they will all be from the Quraysh.'"
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: "Certainly, before the Hour, there will be liars." So I said, "Did you hear it?" He said, "I heard it."
"A man killed himself, so the Prophet did not perform Salat over him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1068)
[Machine] I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ giving a sermon on Friday while sitting down. Whoever told you that he sat down, then he is lying. He did not do that. The Prophet ﷺ used to deliver his sermon standing, then sit down for a while, then stand up again and deliver another sermon. He used to deliver two sermons, sitting in between them on Fridays.
[Machine] There was no gray hair on the head of Allah's Messenger ﷺ except for some strands at the sides of his head when he would apply oil and they would become apparent.
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stoned Ma'iz ibn Malik but did not mention any whip.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give sermons standing up.
[Machine] A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Should I perform ablution with the meat of a sheep?" He said, "If you wish, you may do so, and if you wish, you may not do so." He then asked, "Should I perform ablution with the meat of a camel?" He replied, "Yes." The man then paused and returned and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, can I pray in the grazing area of sheep?" He said, "Yes." He then asked, "Can I pray in the blessed area of camels?" He replied, "No."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointing with his two fingers and saying, "I and the Hour (Day of Judgment) were sent like this, close to one another."
"When Kisra is ruined, there will be no Kisra after him, and when Caesar is ruined, there will be no Caesar after him. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! You shall spend their treasures in Allah's cause." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2216)
I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "There will be twelve Muslim rulers (who will rule all the Islamic world)." He then said a sentence which I did not hear. My father said, "All of them (those rulers) will be from Quraish." (Using translation from Bukhārī 7222)
[Machine] I have never seen the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , deliver a sermon on Friday while sitting down. Whoever told you that they saw him delivering a sermon while sitting down has lied. Samaak said that Jabir ibn Samurah said, "The prayer of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and his sermon were intentional." And Jabir ibn Samurah also said, "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to deliver the sermon while standing, then he would sit, and then he would stand again and deliver the sermon."
[Machine] "Narrated by the Prophet that he went out to his companions and said, 'Why do I see you sitting idle?'"
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he entered the mosque and saw a group of people raising their hands. He said, "They have raised them like the tails of horses in the sun. Stay calm in your prayer."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Doesn't any one of you fear that when he raises his gaze while in prayer, his eyesight will not return to him?"
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about performing ablution after eating the flesh of the camel. He replied: Perform ablution, after eating it. He was asked about performing ablution after eating meat. He replied: Do not perform ablution after eating it. He was asked about saying prayer in places where the camels lie down. He replied: Do not offer prayer in places where the camels lie down. These are the places of Satan. He was asked about saying prayer in the sheepfolds. He replied: You may offer prayer in such places; these are the places of blessing. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 184)
[Machine] I heard Jabir ibn Samurah saying, "The Prophet ﷺ used to sit between the two sermons on the day of Friday and deliver the sermon while standing. His prayer was brief, and his sermon was brief as well. He would recite verses from the Quran on the pulpit."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us and said, "Verily, this religion will continue to be strong until the time of the twelve caliphs." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke a word that I did not understand, and the people became noisy. So, I asked my father, "What did he say?" He said, "They are all from the Quraysh tribe."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us at Arafat, saying, "This matter will remain strong and protected, evident against those who oppose it, until twelve individuals take control of it." I did not understand what comes after that, so I asked my father, "What comes after all of them?" He said, "They will all be from the Quraysh tribe."
[Machine] "I sat with him more than a hundred times, meaning the Prophet ﷺ . Al-Warraqani said, he would not give a sermon unless he was standing. He would give his first sermon, then sit for a while, then stand up and give his second sermon."
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to delay the later 'Isha'."[1] [1] It is described as the later 'Isha' prayer because the Maghrib prayer is sometimes called 'Isha' prayer, but it is the first 'Isha'. Some scholars are of the opinion that it is disliked to call Maghrib 'Isha' without qualifying it as the first 'Isha'. See Fath Al-Bari. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 533)
[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ was injured, and the injury became serious. He suffered greatly and then killed himself using a knife. The Prophet ﷺ did not offer the funeral prayer for him and said, "All of this is from his own acts. Abdullah bin Amr wrote it in his book for us, and I do not consider this addition to be anything other than a statement from Shaykh (meaning a partner) who said, 'All of this is from his own acts.'"
[Machine] A Jarmoqi (Christian) came to the companions of Muhammad ﷺ and said, "Where is your companion who claims to be a prophet? If I ask him, I will know if he is truly a prophet or not." So the Prophet ﷺ came and the Jarmoqi said to him, "Read to me or tell me (something from) the verses of Allah's book." So the Prophet ﷺ recited some verses to him. The Jarmoqi then said, "By Allah, this is the same (knowledge) that Moses brought." Abdullah bin Ahmad said, "This hadith is rejected."
"I used to pray with the Prophet ﷺ and his prayer was moderate in length and his Khutbah was moderate in length." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1582)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave two sermons between which he sat, recited the Quran and gave the people an exhortation. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1094)
[Machine] "And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Indeed, Allah has named the city as Taba.'"
[Machine] "When the Prophet ﷺ was given food as a gift, he would take a portion from it, and then send the rest as a gift to Abu Ayyub. Once he received a dish that contained garlic, so he sent it back to Abu Ayyub. However, Abu Ayyub did not receive anything from it, and he did not see any trace of the Prophet's ﷺ touch on the food. So, he came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about it. The Prophet ﷺ replied, 'I left it because of its smell.' Abu Ayyub said, 'And I dislike what you dislike.'"
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "I prayed with him on both Eid days and no adhan was called for him, and no iqamah was given."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Before the Day of Judgment, there will be liars." He then said, "Samaak, my brother told me that he said, so beware of them."
I recognise the stone in Mecca which used to pay me salutations before my advent as a Prophet and I recognise that even now. (Using translation from Muslim 2277)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for the son of Al-Dahdah, he said: "Hajjaj, the father of Al-Dahdah, performed Hajj and then he brought a young, unsaddle horse, a man approached it and rode it. Then, he began to make it trot and we followed him, running behind him. A man from the people said: 'The Prophet ﷺ said: "How many outstanding mules or camels are there in Paradise for the son of Al-Dahdah?"' Hajjaj commented on his narration, a man among us with Jabir bin Samurah in the gathering said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "How many splendid mules are there in Paradise for Al-Dahdah?"'
I saw the seal on his back as if it were a pigeon's egg. (Using translation from Muslim 2344c)

Abu Ayub came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, is it forbidden?" He said: "No, but I disliked it because of its odor." Abu Ayub said, "I dislike what you dislike."
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to eat from food that was brought to him, and then he would send the excess portions to Abu Ayub. Abu Ayub would follow the trace of the Prophet's fingers and place his fingers where he saw the trace of the Prophet's fingers. One day, the Prophet ﷺ was brought a piece of paper and found the smell of garlic on it. He did not taste it and sent it to Abu Ayub, who did not see the trace of the Prophet's fingers on it. Abu Ayub came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I did not see your fingers' trace on it." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I found the smell of garlic on it." Abu Ayub asked him why he sent it to him if he would not eat it, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "It was brought to me by an angel."

Abdullah said, "This hadith was not reported by my father in his Musnad because it is weak in hadith transmission and someone else dictated it to me in rare narrations."
