[Machine] He said to the Prophet ﷺ , "I have sworn such and such, and he extended his fingers until he asked me to inform him of what Allah had sent him with." He said, "Allah has sent me with Islam." He said, "What is Islam?" He said, "Testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, establishing the prayer, giving the obligatory charity." At that moment, two brothers who assist each other, Allah will not accept the repentance of anyone who associates partners with Him after accepting Islam." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what are the rights of a wife over her husband?" He said, "To give her food when you eat, to clothe her when you clothe yourself, not to hit her in the face, not to curse or insult her, nor to abandon her except inside the house." Then he said, "Here you will be gathered, here you will be gathered, here you will be gathered, three groups, on riding animals and on foot, and on your faces you will be gathered, and on the Day of Resurrection, you will be seventy nations. You are the last of the nations, and the most honorable among them to Allah. You will come on the Day of Resurrection with your mouths as white as a white sheet (meaning purified speech) before any of you moves, take his cover. Ibn Abi Bukair pointed his hand towards the direction of Syria and said, "To there you will be gathered."  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنِّي حَلَفْتُ هَكَذَا وَنَشَرَ أَصَابِعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى تُخْبِرَنِي مَا الَّذِي بَعَثَكَ اللهُ بِهِ؟ قَالَ بَعَثَنِي اللهُ بِالْإِسْلَامِ قَالَ وَمَا الْإِسْلَامُ؟ قَالَ شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ أَخَوَانِ نَصِيرَانِ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْ أَحَدٍ تَوْبَةً أَشْرَكَ بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا حَقُّ زَوْجِ أَحَدِنَا عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ تُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا أَكَلْتَ وَتَكْسُوهَا إِذَا اكْتَسَيْتَ وَلَا تَضْرِبِ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا تُقَبِّحْ وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَاهُنَا تُحْشَرُونَ هَاهُنَا تُحْشَرُونَ هَاهُنَا تُحْشَرُونَ ثَلَاثًا رُكْبَانًا وَمُشَاةً وَعَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ تُوفُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ سَبْعِينَ أُمَّةً أَنْتُمْ آخِرُ الْأُمَمِ وَأَكْرَمُهَا عَلَى اللهِ تَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَعَلَى أَفْوَاهِكُمُ الْفِدَامُ أَوَّلُ مَا يُعْرِبُ عَنْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَخِذُهُ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ فَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَقَالَ إِلَى هَاهُنَا تُحْشَرُونَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, there was a man among those before you whom Allah had given a lot of wealth and children. When he approached death, he asked his children, 'What type of father was I to you?' They replied, 'You were the best of fathers.' He asked, 'Were you obedient to me?' They replied, 'Yes.' He said, 'Look, when I die, burn my body until only ashes remain, and then scatter me in the sea on a windy day, lest Allah bring me back to life and punish me.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'So they did as he instructed, but Allah collected his ashes and said, 'O son of Adam, what caused you to do what you did?' He replied, 'My fear of You, O Lord.' So Allah forgave him because of this."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ فِيمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ رَغَسَهُ اللهُ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا حَتَّى ذَهَبَ عَصْرٌ وَجَاءَ عَصْرٌ فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ قَالَ أَيْ بَنِيَّ أَيَّ أَبٍ كُنْتُ لَكُمْ؟ قَالُوا خَيْرَ أَبٍ قَالَ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُطِيعِيَّ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ انْظُرُوا إِذَا مُتُّ أَنْ تُحَرِّقُونِي حَتَّى تَدَعُونِي فَحْمًا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَفَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ اهْرُسُونِي بِالْمِهْرَاسِ يُومِئُ بِيَدِهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَفَعَلُوا وَاللهِ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ اذْرُونِي فِي الْبَحْرِ فِي يَوْمِ رِيحٍ لَعَلِّي أَضِلُّ اللهَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَفَعَلُوا وَاللهِ ذَلِكَ فَإِذَا هُوَ فِي قَبْضَةِ اللهِ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتَ؟ قَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ مَخَافَتُكَ قَالَ فَتَلَافَاهُ اللهُ بِهَا  

a man asked the Prophet ﷺ: “What are the right of the woman over her husband?” He said: “That he should feed her as he feeds himself and clothe her as he clothes himself; he should not strike her on the face nor disfigure her, and he should not abandon her except in the house (as a form of discipline).” (Hassan) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1850)   

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مَا حَقُّ الْمَرْأَةِ عَلَى الزَّوْجِ؟ قَالَ تُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا طَعِمْتَ وَتَكْسُوهَا إِذَا اكْتَسَيْتَ وَلَا تَضْرِبِ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا تُقَبِّحْ وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ  

[Machine] "O Muawiyah, indeed Muhammad has taken my neighbors, so go to him; for he has recognized you and spoken to you." Muawiyah said, "So I went with him, and he said, 'Leave my neighbors for me; for they have embraced Islam.' So he turned away from them and stood defiantly, and said, 'By Allah, if you do so? It is perceived by people that you command the matter and obey others, and I will reward him while he is speaking.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What does he say?' They said, 'By Allah, if you do that, it is perceived by people that you command the matter and obey others.' He said, 'So he said it or someone else said it?' They said, 'By Allah, if you do that and that is nothing but on me and there is nothing on them from that.' They sent his neighbors to him."  

يَا مُعَاوِيَةُ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا أَخَذَ جِيرَانِي فَانْطَلِقْ إِلَيْهِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ عَرَفَكَ وَكَلَّمَكَ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقْتُ مَعَهُ فَقَالَ دَعْ لِي جِيرَانِي؛ فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ كَانُوا أَسْلَمُوا فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ فَقَامَ مُتَمَعِّطًا فَقَالَ أَمْ وَاللهِ لَئِنْ فَعَلْتَ؟ إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَيَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّكَ تَأْمُرُ بِالْأَمْرِ وَتُخَالِفُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ وَجَعَلْتُ أَجُرُّهُ وَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا يَقُولُ؟ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكَ وَاللهِ لَئِنْ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَيَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّكَ لَتَأْمُرُ بِالْأَمْرِ وَتُخَالِفُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَوَ قَدْ قَالُوهَا أَوْ قَائِلُهُمْ فَلَئِنْ فَعَلْتُ ذَاكَ وَمَا ذَاكَ إِلَّا عَلَيَّ وَمَا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَرْسِلُوا لَهُ جِيرَانَهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You are the last of seventy nations, and you are the best and most honorable among them in the sight of Allah."
