I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "There will be twelve Muslim rulers (who will rule all the Islamic world)." He then said a sentence which I did not hear. My father said, "All of them (those rulers) will be from Quraish."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَسْمَعْهَا فَقَالَ أَبِي إِنَّهُ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The affairs of the people will continue to be conducted (well) as long as they are governed by twelve men. Then the Prophet ﷺ said words which were obscure to me. I asked my father: What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say? He said: All of the (twelve men) will be from the Quraish.

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يَزَالُ أَمْرُ النَّاسِ مَاضِيًا مَا وَلِيَهُمُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلاً ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِكَلِمَةٍ خَفِيَتْ عَلَىَّ فَسَأَلْتُ أَبِي مَاذَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then the Prophet ﷺ said something which I could not understand. I asked my father: What did he say? He said: He has said that all of them (twelve Caliphs) will be from the Quraish.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يَزَالُ الإِسْلاَمُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَفْهَمْهَا فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي مَا قَالَ فَقَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

This order will continue to be dominant until there have been twelve Caliphs. The narrator says: Then he said something which I could not understand, and I said to my father: What did he say? My father told me that he said that all of them (Caliphs) would be from the Quraish.

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لاَ يَزَالُ هَذَا الأَمْرُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً قَالَ ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِشَىْءٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي مَا قَالَ فَقَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

I went with my father to the Messenger of Allah (may peeace be upon him) and I heard him say: This religion would continue to remain powerful and dominant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then he added something which I couldn't catch on account of the noise of the people. I asked my father: What did he say? My father said: He has said that all of them will be from the Quraish.

انْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَعِي أَبِي فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لاَ يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ عَزِيزًا مَنِيعًا إِلَى اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً صَمَّنِيهَا النَّاسُ فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي مَا قَالَ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

The Prophet ﷺ said: The religion will continue to be established till there are twelve caliphs over you, and the whole community will agree on each of them. I then heard from the Prophet ﷺ some remarks which I could not understand. I asked my father: What is he saying: He said: all of them will belong to Quraysh.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ قَائِمًا حَتَّى يَكُونَ عَلَيْكُمُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً كُلُّهُمْ تَجْتَمِعُ عَلَيْهِ الأُمَّةُ فَسَمِعْتُ كَلاَمًا مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ قُلْتُ لأَبِي مَا يَقُولُ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: This religion will continue to be strong till the time of twelve caliphs. The people then uttered: Allah is more great and uproared. He then silently a word which I could not understand. So I said to my father: What did he say, father ? He said: All of them will belong to Quraish.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً قَالَ فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ وَضَجُّوا ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً قُلْتُ لأَبِي يَا أَبَةِ مَا قَالَ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

'There will be twelve Amir after me."' He said: "Then he said something that I did not understand. So I asked the one who was next to me, who said that he ﷺ had said: 'All of them are from Quraish."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا قَالَ ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ فَسَأَلْتُ الَّذِي يَلِينِي فَقَالَ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] " I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during his farewell pilgrimage: 'Verily, this religion will always remain apparent and no one will harm it by opposing or deviating from it until twelve caliphs have passed from my Ummah.' Then he said something that I did not understand, so I asked my father, 'What did he say?' He replied, 'All of them will be from the Quraysh.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ إِنَّ هَذَا الدِّينَ لَنْ يَزَالَ ظَاهِرًا عَلَى مَنْنَاوَأَهُ لَا يَضُرُّهُ مُخَالِفٌ وَلَا مُفَارِقٌ حَتَّى يَمْضِيَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً قَالَ ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] I heard Prophet Muhammad ﷺ saying: "There will be twelve leaders." Then he said a word that I did not hear. Then the people said, "They are all from Quraysh."

سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَسْمَعْهَا فَقَالَ الْقَوْمُ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Islam will remain exalted until there are twelve caliphs." Then, he uttered a secret word.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَزَالُ الْإِسْلَامُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً

[AI] "He said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'There will be twelve leaders after me, and I do not know what he said after that.' So, I asked all the people, and they all said, 'He said that they will all be from the Quraysh.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا ثُمَّ لَا أَدْرِي مَا قَالَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَسَأَلْتُ الْقَوْمَ كُلَّهُمْفَقَالُوا قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us and said, "Verily, this religion will continue to be strong until the time of the twelve caliphs." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke a word that I did not understand, and the people became noisy. So, I asked my father, "What did he say?" He said, "They are all from the Quraysh tribe."

خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا الدِّينَ لَا يَزَالُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً قَالَ ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِكَلِمَةٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهَا وَضَجَّ النَّاسُ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] I heard the Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , saying: There will be twelve princes. Then he said a word that I did not hear. The people said, "All of them are from the Quraysh."

سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَسْمَعْهَا فَقَالَ الْقَوْمُ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] I and my father came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was saying, "This matter will remain good until there are twelve leaders." Then he said a word that I did not understand, so I asked my father, "What did he say?" He replied, "All of them are from the Quraysh tribe."

جِئْتُ أَنَا وَأَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ صَالِحًا حَتَّى يَكُونَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَفْهَمْهَا فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "This matter will continue to prevail until twelve princes will rise, then he said a word which I did not hear clearly so I asked my father what he said? He said, 'All of them will be from the Quraysh tribe."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ مَاضِيًا حَتَّى يَقُومَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ خَفِيَتْ عَلَيَّ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْهَا أَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] I was with my father in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This religion will always remain strong." Or he said, "People will always be in a good state." Abu Abdus-Samad expressed doubt until twelve caliphs. Then he said something quietly, so I asked my father, "What did he say?" He said, "All of them are from Quraysh."

كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ عَزِيزًا أَوْ قَالَ لَا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ بِخَيْرٍ شَكَّ أَبُو عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

[AI] "From the Prophet ﷺ who said, 'This matter will always remain exalted and defended. They will be supported against those who oppose them until there are twelve successors after me.' Then he said a word that I did not hear, so I asked my father what he had said. He said, 'All of them are from the Quraysh.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ عَزِيزًا مَنِيعًا يُنْصَرُونَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً أَصَمَّنِيهَا النَّاسُ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا فَتُكُلِّمَ فَخَفِيَ عَلَيَّ فَسَأَلْتُ الَّذِي يَلِينِي أَوْ إِلَى جَنْبِي فَقَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then the Prophet ﷺ said something which I could not understand. [AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "After me, there will be twelve leaders." Then he spoke something which I could not understand. He said, so I asked someone who was with me, "What did he say?" He said, "All of them are from the Quraysh."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا قَالَ ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ فَخَفِيَ عَلَيَّ مَا قَالَ قَالَ فَسَأَلْتُ بَعْضَ الْقَوْمِ أَوِ الَّذِي يَلِينِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ عَزِيزًا مَنِيعًا يُنْصَرُونَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً»

قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ يَكُونُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَسْمَعْهَا فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: This religion will continue to be strong till the time of twelve caliphs. The people then uttered: Allah is more great and uproared. [AI] I went to the Prophet with my father, and the Messenger of Allah said, "This nation will remain upright in its affair until there are twelve caliphs." Then he said a whispered word, and I asked my father what he said. He said, "All of them will be from Quraish."

انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَعَ أَبِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَزَالُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةُ مُسْتَقِيمٌ أَمْرُهَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً» ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

[AI] I came with my father to the mosque and the Prophet ﷺ was delivering a sermon. I heard him say, "There will be twelve successors after me." Then he lowered his voice and I couldn't catch what he was saying. So, I asked my father, "What was he saying?" He replied, "All of them will be from the Quraysh tribe."

جِئْتُ مَعَ أَبِي إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ «يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً» ثُمَّ خَفَضَ صَوْتَهُ فَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا يَقُولُ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا يَقُولُ؟ قَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during the Farewell Pilgrimage, "The affairs of this Ummah will continue to be stable for those who adhere to it, until there are twelve leaders among you." Then he said something I did not hear, so I asked my father, who was closer to him than me, what did he say? He said he said, "All of them will be from Quraish."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ يَقُولُ «لَا يَزَالُ أَمْرُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ هَادِئًا عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَها حَتَّى يَكُونَ عَلَيْكُمِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهَا فَسَأَلْتُ أَبِي وَكَانَ أَقْرَبَ إِلَيْهِ مِنِّي مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ قَالَ «كُلُّهُم مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

'There will be twelve Amir after me."' He said: "Then he said something that I did not understand. So I asked the one who was next to me, who said that he ﷺ had said: 'All of them are from Quraish."' (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2223)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ فَسَأَلْتُ الْقَوْمَ فَقَالُوا «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

'There will be twelve Amir after me."' He said: "Then he said something that I did not understand. So I asked the one who was next to me, who said that he ﷺ had said: 'All of them are from Quraish."' (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2223)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ فَسَأَلْتُ الْقَوْمَ كُلَّهُمْ فَقَالُوا قَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then the Prophet ﷺ said something which I could not understand. I asked my father: What did he say? He said: He has said that all of them (twelve Caliphs) will be from the Quraish. (Using translation from Muslim 1821d)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ لَا يَزَالُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً» ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَفْهَمْهَا فَقُلْتُ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

[AI] I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Indeed, after me there will be twelve leaders." Then he said a word, so I asked my father, and he said, "All of them will be from the Quraysh tribe."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ سيقومُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً فَسَأَلْتُ أَبِي فَقَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

[AI] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying "There will be twelve princes" and then he said something that I didn't hear, so the people assumed that he said "All of them are from Quraysh."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَكُونُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ فَزَعَمَ الْقَوْمُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

[AI] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "There will be twelve leaders after me." Then he spoke softly, and I asked the one next to me, and he said, "All of them are from Quraysh."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ فَخَفِيَ عَلَيَّ فَسَأَلْتُ الَّذِي يَلِيَنِي فَقَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

"لا يَزالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ عَزِيزا مَنِيعًا إِلَى اثنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً، كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيشٍ".
