[Machine] Uyaynah ibn Badr, al-Aqr' ibn Habish, and al-Qama ibn Ulatah gathered with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and they mentioned their ancestors. So the Prophet ﷺ said, "If you remain silent, I will inform you about the ancestor of Banu 'Amir, a red or dark red camel who eats from the tops of trees." He said, "And I imagine it is in a garden, and Ghatafan has a black camel with hooves that keep people away from it." Al-Aqr' ibn Habish then said, "Where is the ancestor of Banu Tamim?" He said, "If he remains silent
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting on Hira' with Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman. The mountain moved, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Calm down, Hira', for you have nothing on you except a prophet, a truthful friend, or a martyr."
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1079)
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, "Al-kamma'ah (a type of plant) is a cure for the eye, and certainly dates are from the fruits of paradise. And indeed, this black seed," Ibn Buraydah said, referring to cumin seeds, "which is present in salt, is a cure for every disease except death."
The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not call a hypocrite sayyid (master), for if he is a sayyid, you will displease your Lord, Most High. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4977)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people of Paradise are 120 rows, 80 rows of them are from this nation." Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You are among them, 80 rows."
[Machine] I entered with my father to Muawiyah, and we sat on the beds. Then we were brought food, and we ate. Then we were brought drinks, and Muawiyah drank first, then passed it to my father. Then he said, "I have not drunk it since the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited it." Then Muawiyah said, "I was the most handsome of the youth of Quraysh and the most eloquent in speech. There was nothing that I found enjoyable as much as I found it when I was a young man, except for milk or a person who has good conversation and talks to me."
[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a man called Ma'iz ibn Malik came to him and said, "O Prophet of Allah, I have committed adultery and I want to be purified." The Prophet ﷺ told him to go back. The next day, the man came to him again and confessed his sin. The Prophet ﷺ told him to go back again. Then, the Prophet ﷺ sent a message to his people and asked them about the man. They replied, "O Prophet of Allah, we do not see any problem or defect in his intellect." The man came to the Prophet ﷺ a third time and confessed his sin. He asked the Prophet ﷺ to purify him. The Prophet ﷺ sent a message to his people again and asked them about the man, and they gave the same answer as before. The man came to the Prophet ﷺ a fourth time and confessed his sin. The Prophet ﷺ ordered a hole to be dug and the man was buried in it up to his chest. The Prophet ﷺ then ordered the people to stone him. Buraydah said, "We, the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, used to talk amongst ourselves and say that if Ma'iz ibn Malik had sat in his tent after confessing his sin three times, the Prophet ﷺ would not have bothered him. He was stoned only because he came to the Prophet ﷺ a fourth time and confessed his sin."
[Machine] Bureidah entered Muawiyah's presence and saw a man speaking. Bureidah said, "Muawiyah, may I speak?" Muawiyah said, "Yes," while thinking that Bureidah will say the same as the other man. Bureidah said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'I hope to intercede on the Day of Judgment for as many trees and straws that exist on earth.'" Muawiyah asked, "Do you hope for it, O Muawiyah, and Ali ibn Abi Talib does not?"
[Machine] A man from the Azd tribe died without leaving an heir. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Look for him an heir, look for him a close relative." But no one was found. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give him to the largest tribe."
[Machine] "I participated in a campaign with Ali in Yemen, and I witnessed arrogance from him. When I arrived in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , I mentioned Ali and belittled him. I then saw the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ change, and he said, 'O Buraydah, am I not more deserving of the believers' loyalty than themselves?' I replied, 'Indeed, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Whoever I am his master, Ali is also his master.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not despise anything, but when he wanted to visit a land, he would ask about its name. If the name was good, it showed on his face, and if it was bad, it also showed on his face. And when he sent a man, he would ask about his name. If the name was good, it showed on his face, and if it was bad, it also showed on his face.
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "I and the Hour were sent together, and it almost preceded me."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came out to us one day and called out three times, saying, "O people, do you know what my likeness is and your likeness?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Indeed, my likeness and your likeness is that of a people who were afraid of an enemy coming to them. So, they sent a man to scout for them. While they were in that state, the enemy appeared, and he rushed to warn them, fearing that the enemy would reach them before he could warn his people. He folded his garment and said, 'O people, have you received me? O people, have you received me?' three times."
[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a woman from Ghamid came to him and said, "O Prophet of Allah, I have committed adultery and I want you to purify me." The Prophet ﷺ told her to go back. The next day she came to him again and confessed to committing adultery. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, purify me, for perhaps you will turn me away as you turned away Ma'iz ibn Malik." The Prophet ﷺ told her to go back. When she gave birth, she brought the baby to the Prophet ﷺ , and she said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have given birth." He told her to go and breastfeed the baby until she weaned him. After she weaned him, she brought the baby with a piece of bread in his hand and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have weaned him." The Prophet ﷺ ordered the baby to be given to a Muslim man and ordered a hole to be dug for her. She was then buried up to her chest, and the people were ordered to stone her. Khalid ibn Al-Walid came with a stone and hit her head, causing blood to splatter onto Khalid's face. Khalid cursed her, and the Prophet ﷺ heard him. He said, "Hold on, O Khalid ibn Al-Walid, do not curse her. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, she has repented with such a repentance that if the repentance of a person with leprosy were compared to her repentance, his sins would be forgiven." The Prophet ﷺ then prayed over her and she was buried.

[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when I heard him say, "Learn Surah Al-Baqarah (the Cow), for taking hold of it brings blessings and leaving it causes regret, and the magicians cannot confront it." He remained silent for a while and then said, "Learn Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Al-Imran (the Family of Imran), for they are the two bright ones which shade their companion on the Day of Resurrection, just like two clouds, or two shades, or two groups of birds, one on the right and one on the left, reciting the Qur'an which will come to its companion on the Day of Resurrection in the shape of a pale-faced man, who will say to him, 'Do you recognize me?' The person will reply, 'I do not recognize you.' The man will further say, 'I am your companion, the Qur'an, which has made you thirsty in the midday heat and kept you awake during the night. Every trader will benefit from his trade, and today you are benefiting from your recitation.' The Qur'an will then be given dominion over its companion and will be adorned with a crown of dignity, while its parents will be clothed in two beautiful garments that these garments will never wear-out. They will say, 'O Lord! How did we earn these garments?' It will be said to them, 'Because your child learned the Qur'an.' Then it will be said to the reader of the Qur'an, 'Read and ascend through the levels of Paradise, and recite as you used to recite in worldly life, for your position and status will be at the last verse you recite.'"

[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ , and I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Verily, my Ummah will be driven by a people with flat faces, small eyes, as if their faces are pieces of stone. They will keep driving them until they reach the Arabian Peninsula. As for the first group, they will escape from them, and as for the second group, some will perish while others will survive. As for the third group, they will all be taken as captives." They said, "O Prophet of Allah, who are they?" He said, "They are the Turks." The Prophet ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, they will tie their horses to the outer walls of the mosques of the Muslims." Buraydah used to take two or three camels with him for travel and supplies, preparing for the escape from what he had heard from the Prophet ﷺ regarding the calamity concerning the Turks.

[Machine] Buraida went out at dinner time, and he encountered the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ took him by the hand and brought him into the mosque. Then they heard a man reciting, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you see him reciting?" Buraida remained silent. Then they heard a man making supplication, so he said, "O Allah, I ask You by the fact that I bear witness that You are Allah, there is no god but You, the One, the Self-Sufficient Master, who neither begets nor is begotten, and there is none like unto Him." The Prophet ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, or by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, he has invoked Allah by His Greatest Name, and whenever He is asked by it, He gives and whenever He is called by it, He answers." Then, when it was close to giving birth, Buraida went out at dinner time, and he encountered the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ took him by the hand and brought him into the mosque. Then they heard the voice of a man reciting, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you say it out of desire?" Buraida said, "Do you say it out of desire, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "No, rather, he is a believing repentant, rather, he is a believing repentant." Then Ash'ari was reciting in a corner of the mosque, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Ash'ari, or indeed, Abdullah bin Qais, has been given a flute from the flutes of Dawud." So I said, "Should I inform him, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes, inform him." So I informed him, and he said, "You are my truthful friend. You have informed me about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a narration."

"A man came to the Prophet and asked him about the times of the prayer. He said: 'Pray with us for two days.' When the sun passed its zenith he commanded Bilal to call the Adhan, then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for Zuhr; then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for 'Asr when the sun was high and clearly white. Then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for Maghrib when the sun had set; then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for 'Isha' when the red afterglow had disappeared; then he commanded him to give the Iqamah for Fajr when dawn came. On the following day he commanded him to give the Adhan for Zuhr when the extreme heat had passed and it had cooled down; then he prayed 'Asr when the sun was still high, but he delayed it more than he had done the day before; then he prayed Maghrib before the red afterglow disappeared; he prayed 'Isha' when one-third of the night had passed; and he prayed Fajr at the time when it was already light. Then he said: 'Where is the one who was asking about the times of Prayer?' The man said: 'Here I am, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'The times of your prayer are between the times you have seen.'" The sanctity of the wives of Mujahids is like the sanctity of their mothers for those who sit at home (i. e do not go out for Jihad). Anyone who stays behind looking after the family of a Mujahid and betrays his trust will be made to stand on the Day of judgment before the Mujahid who will take away from his meritorious deeds whatever he likes. So what do you think (will he leave anything)? (Using translation from Muslim 1897a)

Sulaiman bin Buraidah reported on the authority of his father. When the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ appointed a Commander over an Army or a detachment, he instructed him to fear Allaah himself and consider the welfare of the Muslims who were with him. He then said “When you meet the polytheists who are your enemy, summon them tone of three things and accept whichever of them they are willing to agree to, and refrain from them. Summon them to Islam and if they agree, accept it from them and refrain from them. Then summon them to leave their territory and transfer to the abode of the Emigrants and tell them that if they do so, they will have the same rights and responsibilities as the Emigrants, but if they refuse and choose their own abode, tell them that they will be like the desert Arabs who are Muslims subject to Allaah’s jurisdiction which applies to the believers, but will have no spoil or booty unless they strive with the Muslims. If they refuse demand jizyah (poll tax) from them, if they agree accept it from them and refrain from them. But if they refuse, seek Alaah’s help and fight with them. When you invade the fortress and they (its people) offer to capitulate and have the matter referred to Allaah’s jurisdiction, do not grant this, for you do not know whether or not you will hit on Allaah’s jurisdiction regarding them. But let them capitulate and have the matter refereed to your jurisdiction and make a decision about them later on as you wish. Sufyan (bin ‘Uyainah) said thah ‘Alqamah said “I mentioned this tradition to Muqatil bin Habban, He said “Muslim narrated it to me.” Abu Dawud said “He is Ibn Haidam narrated from Al Nu’man in Muqqarin from the Prophet ﷺ like the tradition of Sulaiman bin Buraidah.
