12. Remaing Anṣār (1/28)
Ibrahim bin ’Uqabah said “Kuraib told me that he asked Umamah bin Zaid saying tell me how you did in the evening when you rode behind the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. He said “We came to the valley where the people make their Camels kneel down to take rest at night.” The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ made his she Camel kneel down and he then urinated. He then called for water for ablution and performed the ablution but he did not perform minutely (but performed lightly). I asked Apostle of Allaah ﷺ, prayer? He replied “Prayer ahead of you”. He then mounted (the Camel) till we came to Al Muzadalifah. There iqamah for the sunset prayer was called. The people then made their Camels kneel down at their places. The Camels were not unloaded as yet, iqamah for the night prayers was called and he prayed. The people then unloaded the Camels. The narrator Muhammad added in his version of the tradition How did you do when the morning came? He replied Al Fadl rode behind him and I walked on foot among the people of the Quraish who went ahead. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1921)

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There is no riba (usury) in hand to hand transactions. He meant that riba is only in transactions involving women."
The client of Usamah ibn Zayd said that he went along with Usamah to Wadi al-Qura in pursuit of his camels. He would fast on Monday and Thursday. His client said to him: Why do you fast on Monday and Thursday, while you are an old man? He said: The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to fast on Monday and Thursday. When he was asked about it, he said: The works of the servants (of Allah) are presented (to Allah) on Monday and Thursday. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2436)
[Machine] We sent the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Al-Hurqah from the tribe of Juheinah. He said, "We attacked them in the morning and fought against them. Among them was a man who, when the enemy approached, was the bravest among them against us. But when they turned their backs, he became their protector." He said, "I and a man from the Ansar overwhelmed him." When we overwhelmed him, he said, "There is no god but Allah." The Ansari hesitated and I killed him. When the Prophet ﷺ was informed about this, he said, "O Usama! Did you kill him after he said, 'There is no god but Allah'?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah! He only said it to protect himself from being killed." The Prophet ﷺ repeated, "Did you kill him after he said, 'There is no god but Allah'?" I said it again, "O Messenger of Allah! He only said it to protect himself from being killed."

“I am not leaving behind me any tribulation that is more harmful to men than women.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3998)
The Prophet ﷺ as saying: A Muslim may not inherit from an infidel nor an infidel from a Muslim. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2909)
You do not see what I am seeing and I am seeing the places of turmoil between your houses as the places of rainfall. (Using translation from Muslim 2885a)
"I poured water for him from a small vessel and he performed a light Wudu'. I said to him: 'The prayer.' He said: 'The prayer is still ahead of you.' When he came to Al-Muzdalifah he prayed Maghrib, then they untied the saddles of their mounts and then he prayed 'Isha'." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 609)
"I said to Ibn Abbas: 'Do you think that what you are saying is something that you found in the Book of Allah, or something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'I did not find it in the Book of Allah, nor did I hear it from the messenger of Allah, rather Usamah bin Zaid told me that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Riba is only in credit."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4581)
[Machine] From him, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, this is a punishment that Allah has sent upon people before you or a group from the Children of Israel. It comes sometimes and goes sometimes. So, when it occurs in a land, do not enter it, and when it occurs in your land, do not flee from it."
[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, where will you stay tomorrow if Allah wills?" At the time of conquest, he said, "Has Abu Bakr left any place for us to stay?" Then he said, "A disbeliever does not inherit from a believer, nor does a believer inherit from a disbeliever."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast on certain days until it was said that he never breaks his fast, and he would break his fast on certain days until it was said that he hardly ever fasts, except for two days of the week, unless there was a fasting in the month, then he would fast those two days as well. He did not fast any month as much as he fasted in Sha'ban. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you fast so much that it seems like you never break your fast, and you break your fast so much that it seems like you hardly ever fast. He said, "Which two days?" I said, "Monday and Thursday." He said, "Those are two days when deeds are shown (to Allah) and I love that my deeds should be shown (to Allah) when I am fasting." I said, "And I have never seen you fasting in any month as you fast in Sha'ban." He said, "That is a month between Rajab and Ramadan that people neglect, but it is a month in which deeds are raised up to the Lord of the worlds, and I love that my deeds should be raised up when I am fasting."
"I head Ibn Abbas sya: 'Usmah bin Zaid told me that the Prophet entered the YHouse, and supplicated in all its corner, but he did not pray inside unitl he came out; when he came out he prayed two Rakahs in front of the Kabah.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2917)
from his father, that he said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became weak, I marched and the people marched upon Al-Madinah. I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was unable to speak (because of weakness), so he did not say anything. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to place his hands upon me and then raise them up, so I knew he was supplicating for me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3817)
"The Messneger of Allah departed from Arafat and I was riding behind him. He started trying to rein in his camel until its ears nearly touched the front of the saddle, and he was saying: 'O people, you must be tranquil and dignified, for righteousness does not come by making camels hurry.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3018)
There is no element of interest when the money or commodity is exchanged hand to hand. (Using translation from Muslim 1596c)
[Machine] I entered with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to visit Abdullah bin Ubayy while he was sick, so we were seeking his forgiveness. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "I used to forbid you from showing love to the Jews." Abdullah replied, "Indeed, I have detested them since As'ad bin Zurara passed away, and he died."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed prayer in the house.
[Machine] I was a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the evening of Arafat. When the sun set, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pushed forward. When he heard the commotion of the people behind him, he said softly, "O people, calm down. Surely, righteousness is not achieved through chaos." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would lower his head when the people crowded around him, and when he found a slight opening, he would proceed until he reached Muzdalifah. He would pray there, combining the Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers.
[Machine] I was walking behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the evening of Arafah, and when the sun had set, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pushed ahead. When he heard the sound of people behind him, he said, "Calm down, O people, for surely righteousness is not attained by haste." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , when the people crowded around him, he would straighten his neck, and when he found an opening, he would move forward until he reached the place where many people claim he performed Salah. He then descended from his mount, and he made a sign with his hands, saying, "Pour the water as you say." Then I brought him the container, and he performed the wudu' (ablution). Then he said, "I said Salah, O Messenger of Allah." He replied, "The Salah is in front of you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then mounted and did not perform Salah until he reached Muzdalifah. He descended there and combined the Maghrib and Isha prayers.

What have you heard from Messenger of Allah ﷺ about plague? Thereupon Usama said: Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Plague is a calamity which was sent to Bani Isra'il or upon those who were before you. So when you hear that it has broken out in a land, don't go to it, and when it has broken out in the land where you are, don't run out of it. In the narration transmitted on the authority of Abu Nadr there is a slight variation of wording. (Using translation from Muslim 2218a)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Verily, Allah does not like every vulgar and obscene person."
[Machine] Usama bin Zaid heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "He combined the Maghrib and Isha prayers at Muzdalifah."
Usamah bin Zaid said I asked Apostle of Allaah ﷺ where will you encamp tomorrow? (This is asked on the occasion of his Hajj). He replied “Did ‘Aqil leave any house for us?” He again said “We shall encamp in the valley (Khaif) of Banu Kinanah where the Quraish took an oath upon disbelief, that is, Al Muhassab.” The oath was that Banu Kinanah concluded a pact with the Quraish against Banu Hashim “they would have no marital relationship with them, nor would give them accommodation nor would have any commercial ties with them.” Al Zuhri said Al Khaif means valley. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2010)
Do not scatter the dust over us (Not minding this remark), the Prophet ﷺ greeted them, stopped, got down from his animal, invited them to Allah, and recited to them the Qur'an. 'Abdullah b. Ubayy said: O man, if what you say is the truth, the best thing for you would be not to bother us with it in our assemblies. Get back to your place. Whoso comes to you from us, tell him (all) this. Abdullah b. Rawaha said: Come to us in our gatherings, for we love (to hear) it. The narrator says: (At this), the Muslims, the polytheists and the Jews began to rebuke one another until they were determined to come to blows. The Prophet ﷺ continued to pacify them. (When they were pacified), he rode his animal and came to Sa'd b. 'Ubida. He said: Sa'd, haven't you heard what Abu Hubab (meaning 'Abdullah b. Ubayy) has said? He has said so and so. Sa'd said: Messenger of Allah, forgive and pardon. God has granted you a sublime position, (but so far as he is concerned) the people of this settlement had-decided to make him their king by making him wear a crown and a turban (in token thereof), but God has circumvented this by the truth He has granted you. This has made him jealous and his jealousy (must have) prompted the behaviour that you have witnessed. So, the Prophet (may peace upon him) forgave him. (Using translation from Muslim 1798a)

A daughter of Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him message while I and Sa'd were with him and I think Ubayy was also there: My son or daughter (the narrator is doubtful) is dying, so come to us. He sent her greeting, saying at the same time: Say! What Allah has been taken belongs to Him, what He has given (belongs to Him), and He has appointed time for everything. She then sent a message adjuring him (to come to her). So he came to her and the child who was on the point of death was placed in the hearts of those whom He wished. Allah shows compassion only to those of His servants who are compassionate. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3125)

Sa'd bin Ubada said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you weep even though you have forbidden weeping?" He (Ibn Umar) said: Then Ibn Umar came and stood beside me and prayed four (rak'ahs). I said to him: Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray inside the house? He said: Here. Usamah ibn Zaid informed me that he also prayed here. I said: How many (rak'ahs) did he pray? He said: I find myself blaming myself for not staying with him for a longer period and not asking him how many (rak'ahs) he prayed. When the next year came, he said: I went out as a pilgrim. He said: So I came to the spot where he was standing. Then Ibn Zubair came and stood beside me and kept pushing me until he made me move away from it. Then he prayed four (rak'ahs) in it.

Why don't you visit 'Uthman and talk to him? Thereupon he said: Do you think that I have not talked to him but that I have made you hear? By Allah. I have talked to him (about things) concerning me and him and I did not like to divulge those things about which I had to take the initiative and I do not say to my ruler: "You are the best among people," after I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown in Hell-Fire and his intestines will pour forth in Hell and he will go round along with them, as an ass goes round the mill stone. The denizens of Hell would gather round him and say: O, so and so, what has happened to you? Were you not enjoining us to do what was reputable and forbid us to do what was disreputable? He will say: Of course, it is so; I used to enjoin (upon people) to do what was reputable but did not practise that myself. I had been forbidding people to do what was disreputable, but practised it myself. (Using translation from Muslim 2989a)

Sa'd said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is this?" he said: "This is compassion which Allah has created in the hearts of His slaves. Allah has mercy on His compassionate slaves."
