[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ: "O Messenger of Allah, if I am killed in the way of Allah, patiently enduring, seeking Allah's reward, not retreating, will Allah forgive my sins?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "If you are killed in the way of Allah, patiently enduring, seeking Allah's reward, not retreating, Allah will indeed forgive your sins. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed as long as Allah willed, then the man asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, if I am killed in the way of Allah, not retreating, will Allah forgive my sins?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "If you are killed in the way of Allah, not retreating, Allah will forgive your sins except the debt." This is what Gabriel told me.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came to a funeral to pray over it. He asked, "Does he have any debts?" They replied, "Yes, two dinars." He asked, "Did he leave anything to repay them?" They said, "No." He said, "Then pray for your companion." Abu Qatadah said, "They are on me, O Messenger of Allah." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed over him.

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and he said, "If you do not reach the water tomorrow, you will be thirsty." So the people hurried to find water, and I stayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . His camel turned towards its saddle, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dozed off, so I supported him and he leaned against me. Then his camel leaned so much that it almost fell off its saddle, so I supported him again and he woke up and said, "Who is this man?" I said, "Abu Qatadah." He asked, "How long have you been walking?" I said, "Since last night." He said, "May Allah protect you as you have protected His Messenger." Then he said, "If we stop and camp near a tree." So he descended and said, "Look, do you see anyone?" I said, "There are riders, two riders." Until they reached seven riders. He said, "Keep our prayer for us as we sleep." So we slept, and only the intense heat of the sun woke us up. We woke up and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted his camel and continued our journey for a while, and then he descended and said, "Do you have any water?" I said, "Yes, I have a container with a little water in it." He said, "Bring it." So I brought it to him, and he poured some of it on himself and said, "Pour from it." So the people poured from it, and a small quantity remained. He said, "Cover it, O Abu Qatadah, for it will have a story." Then Bilal called for prayer, and they prayed two units before dawn, then they prayed Fajr. Then he mounted his camel and we mounted with him. Some of them said to each other, "We missed out on our prayer." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What are you saying? If it is a worldly matter, it is your concern, but if it is a religious matter, then it is up to me." They said three times, "O Messenger of Allah, we missed out on our prayer." He said, "Do not miss out on sleep, as negligence is only in wakefulness. If that is the case, then pray it later in the morning." Then he said, "The people are suspicious." They said, "You said yesterday that if we do not reach the water tomorrow, we will be thirsty, and now the people have water." Some of them said, "The Messenger of Allah has water, and Abu Bakr and Umar are among the people." They said, "O people, the Messenger of Allah did not have a greater right to the water than you, and if the people obey Abu Bakr and Umar, they will surely guide you." He repeated this three times. When the sun became intense, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised it for them and they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are dying of thirst, our throats are dry and our necks are being severed." He said, "Fear not, there is no death upon you." Then he said, "O Abu Qatadah, bring the container." So I brought it to him and he said, "Untie my garment." I untied it and brought it to him. Then he began pouring it into the container and giving water to the people. The people crowded around him, so he said, "O people, maintain order. Each of you will be able to drink from a flowing river." The people drank until there was no one left except me and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . So he poured for me and said, "Drink, O Abu Qatadah." I said, "You drink, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "The one who serves is the last to drink." So I drank and he drank after me. The container still had some water left, while there were about three hundred people there that day. Abdullah heard this hadith from Imran bin Husain while I was narrating it in the main mosque. He asked, "Who is the man?" I said, "I am Abdullah bin Rabah al-Ansari." The people know their hadith better than I do, so look at how you narrate hadith, for I am one of the seven people from that night. When I finished, he said, "I did not think that anyone was preserving this hadith other than myself."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about fasting on Monday. He replied, "On this day, I was born and on this day, revelation was sent down to me."
[Machine] Abu Qatadah Al-Faris, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent an army of leaders and said, "Zaid bin Harithah should take charge, and if Zaid is killed, then Ja'far should take charge, and if Ja'far is killed, then Abdullah bin Rawahah, the Ansari, should take charge." Ja'far stepped forward and said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! I have never feared being commanded by Zaid." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Proceed, for you do not know which of them is better." The army set out and stayed as long as Allah willed. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the pulpit and ordered the call for congregational prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A piece of news has reached me or a messenger has come with a message. It is doubtlessly Abdullah ibn Rawahah, who will inform you about your army. They set out until they encountered the enemy and Zaid was martyred. Seek forgiveness for him." The people sought forgiveness for him. Then, Ja'far bin Abi Talib took charge of the flag and fought the enemy until he was martyred. He was truly worthy of martyrdom and the people sought forgiveness for him. Then, Abdullah bin Rawahah took charge of the flag and stood firm until he was martyred. The people sought forgiveness for him. Then, Khalid bin Al-Walid, who was not a leader appointed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, took charge of the flag and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his fingers and said, "O Allah, he is a sword from Your swords. Support him." Abdur-Rahman said, "May I be sacrificed for you, support him on this day." On that day, Khalid was named the Sword of Allah. Then, the Prophet ﷺ said, "March forward and support your brothers. May none of you lag behind." The people went forward in intense heat, on foot and on mounts.

[Machine] 'Amr ibn al-Jamuh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if I fight in the cause of Allah until I am killed, will I walk in Paradise with these two feet?" And his foot was crippled. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Yes." So he and his nephew and their slave were killed on the day of Uhud. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by them and said, "It seems to me that I see you walking in Paradise with these two feet." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that they be buried together in one grave.

[Machine] Abu Qatada al-Ansari al-Faris, a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, narrated: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent an army of commanders and he said, "Zaid bin Harithah is in charge of you. If he falls, Ja'far bin Abi Talib will take charge. If Ja'far falls, then Abdullah bin Rawaha al-Ansari will lead." Ja'far stood up and said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah. I have never been more afraid of being appointed over others by you." The Messenger of Allah said, "You should accept it, for you do not know which of you is better." They then departed and stayed as long as Allah wished. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the pulpit and ordered the congregational prayer to be announced. He said, "Nab (news) arrived, or news stayed, or news rested." Some people speculated, so Abdur Rahman said, "Shall I tell you about your army? It has gone out and met the enemy. Zaid was martyred, so ask for forgiveness for him." The people asked for forgiveness for him. Then, Ja'far bin Abi Talib took the flag and fought until he was martyred. He testified for him with martyrdom, so they asked for forgiveness for him. Then, Abdullah bin Rawaha took the flag and stood firm until he was martyred. They asked for forgiveness for him. Then, Khalid bin Walid took the flag, even though he was not one of the commanders, he appointed himself. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his two fingers and said, "O Allah, this is a sword from Your swords, so grant him victory." From that day, he was called Khalid, the Sword of Allah. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "March forth. Strengthen your brothers and do not leave anyone behind." The people then headed out in intense heat, on foot and mounted.
