[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafah, and he said: "It expiates the sins of two years." And he was asked about fasting on the Day of Ashura, and he said: "It expiates the sins of one year."  

أحمد:٢٢٥١٧حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مَنْصُورٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَاذَانَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ كَفَّارَةُ سَنَتَيْنِ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ فَقَالَ كَفَّارَةُ سَنَةٍ
