The prayer of the penitent should be observed when the young weaned camels feel heat of the sun.

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى أَهْلِ قُبَاءٍ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ فَقَالَ صَلاَةُ الأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتِ الْفِصَالُ

Messenger of Allah said: "Salatul-Wusta is the Asr prayer."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلاَةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ

"The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: 'The middle Salat is Salat Al-'Asr.'"

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ صَلاَةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ

"I heard Nawfal bin Mu'awiyah say: 'There is a prayer which if a person misses it, it is as of he has been robbed of his family and his wealth.'" Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It is 'Asr prayer.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هِيَ صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺas saying: When the iqamah is pronounced for prayer, no prayer is valid except the obligatory prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1266)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to them while they were praying after the sunrise. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer of the people of habit is when the camels are driven to the watering place."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ بَعْدَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتْ الْفِصَالُ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2224)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed five prayers in Mina."

«صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِمِنًى خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ»

We thought that it was Fajr, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿIt is Asr prayer” - meaning the middle prayer.

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هِيَ صَلاةُالْعَصْرِ يَعْنِي صَلاةَ الْوُسْطَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Dhuhr prayer and mentioned its meaning.

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the prayer which was most excellent. He said: That in which the standing is longer. (This hadith is narrated by another chain of transmitters too.) (Using translation from Muslim 756b)

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the people of Quba while they were praying the Duha prayer. He said, "The prayer of the obedient ones is when the sun has risen and the morning has passed."

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ الضُّحَى فَقَالَ صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتْ الْفِصَالُ مِنَ الضُّحَى

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

"The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: 'The middle Salat is Salat Al-'Asr.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2983)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pray the prayer at its prescribed time."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا

[AI] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best prayer of a person is in his own house, except for the obligatory ones."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَفْضَلُ صَلَاةِ الْمَرْءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ

his father said: I heard Messenger of Allah saying: "There are no two Witr in one night." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا وِتْرَانِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of the one sitting is half the prayer of the one standing."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةُ الْجَالِسِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of the sitting person is half the prayer of the standing person."

(Note: This is a translation of a Hadith, a saying of Prophet Muhammad, and the phrase "ﷺ " is used to show respect for him.)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Praying on time."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is the best?" He replied, "Offering the prayer at its earliest time."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»

"Messenger of Allah did not pray any Salat at the end of its time two times, until Allah took him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 174)

«مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا الْآخِرِ حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the beauty of prayer is maintaining the rows."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مِنْ حُسْنِ الصَّلَاةِ إِقَامَةُ الصَّفِّ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not urinate while standing."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَبُلْ قَائِمًا»

Prayer at its appointed hour. I (again) said: Then what? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Kindness to the parents. I (again) said: Then what? He replied: Earnest endeavour (Jihad) in the cause of Allah. And I would have not ceased asking more questions but out of regard (for his feelings). (Using translation from Muslim 85a)

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِمِيقَاتِهَا»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for us."

«صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: Kill the two black things during prayer, the snake and scorpion. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 921)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اقْتُلُوا الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ الْحَيَّةَ وَالْعَقْرَبَ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying towards his riding animal.

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي إِلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺas saying: When the iqamah is pronounced for prayer, no prayer is valid except the obligatory prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1266)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Prayer while sitting is equivalent to half of the prayer while standing."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى مِثْلِ نِصْفِ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by the Mosque of Quba while they were praying two Rak'ahs. He said, "What is this prayer?" They replied, "It is the Tashbih prayer." He said, "Indeed, the prayer of the righteous when the camels are saddled."

مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى مَسْجِدِ قُبَاءَ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ؟» قَالُوا تَسْبِيحٌ قَالَ «إِنَّ صَلَاةَ الْأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتِ الْفِصَالُ»

[AI] He went out to the people of Quba while they were praying the Duha prayer and said, "The prayer of the repentant is when the camels distinguish themselves." And he did not raise it.

خَرَجَ عَلَى أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى فَقَالَ «صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتِ الْفِصَالُ» وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The killing is enough for my companions."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بِحَسْبِ أَصْحَابِي الْقَتْلُ»

Qays ibn Talq said: Talq ibn Ali visited us on a certain day during Ramadan. He remained with us till evening and broke fast with us. He then stood up and led us in the witr prayer. He then went to his mosque and led them in prayer. When the witr remained, he put forward another man and said: Lead your companions in the witr prayer, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: There are no two witrs during one night. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1439)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا وِتْرَانِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ»

[AI] I said, "Oh Messenger of Allah, which action is the best?" He said, "Praying on time."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا»

[AI] "The prayers should be performed at their designated times."

«الصَّلَوَاتُ لِوَقْتِهَا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not catch the plague."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَلَقَّوُا الْجَلَبَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, in prayer there is occupation."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شُغْلًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "To me is the relief," meaning in prayer.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِيَّايَ وَالْفُرَجَ» يَعْنِي فِي الصَّلَاةِ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed five prayers in Mina."

«صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمِنًى خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer of the sitting person is equivalent to half the prayer of the standing person."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ مِثْلُ نِصْفِ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ»

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , said, "There is no bequest for an heir."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا وَصِيَّةَ لِوَارِثٍ»
