Messenger of Allah said: "Salatul-Wusta is the Asr prayer." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 181)   

البيهقي:٢١٦٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثنا عَفَّانُ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

صَلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْفَجْرِ

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

We thought that it was Fajr, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿIt is Asr prayer” - meaning the middle prayer. (Using translation from Aḥmad 990)
