15.02. Rest of the Women (1/15)
“The wives of the Prophet ﷺ gathered together and not one of them lagged behind. Fatimah came, and her gait was like that of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, ‘Welcome to my daughter.’ Then he made her sit to his left, and he whispered something to her, and she smiled. I said to her: ‘What made you weep?’ She said: ‘I will not disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.’ I said: ‘I never saw joy so close to grief as I saw today.’ When she wept I said: ‘Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ tell you some special words that were not for us, then you wept?’ And I asked her about what he had said. She said: ‘I will not disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.’ After he died I asked her what he had said, and she said: ‘He told me that Jibra’il used to review the Qur’an with him once each year, but he had reviewed it with him twice that year, (and he said:) “I do not think but that my time is near. You will be the first of my family to join me, and what a good predecessor I am for you.” So I wept. Then he whispered to me and said: “Will you not be pleased to be the leader of the women of this Ummah?” So I smiled.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1621)
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell ill, he called his daughter Fatimah and whispered something to her. She cried, and then he whispered something else to her and she laughed. I asked her about it, and she said, "When he first spoke to me, he informed me that he was going to die, so I cried. Then he told me that I would be the first of his family to join him, so I laughed."
[Machine] From his mother, Umm Sulaiman, and both of them were trusted. She said, "I entered upon Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , and I asked her about the meat of the sacrificial animals. She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to prohibit it, but then he gave permission for it. Ali ibn Abi Talib returned from a journey and Fatimah brought him meat from her sacrifices. He said, 'Did not the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibit it?' She said, 'Indeed, he gave permission for it.' So Ali went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about that. He said to him, 'All of it is allowed from the month of Dhul-Hijjah to the month of Dhul-Hijjah.'"
[Machine] It is narrated from her grandmother Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who said, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque, he would offer greetings and say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of Your mercy for me.' And when he left, he would offer greetings and say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of Your grace for me.' Isma'il said, 'I met Abdullah ibn Hasan and asked him about this hadith, and he said, 'When he entered, he would say, 'O Lord, open for me the door of Your mercy.' And when he left, he would say, 'O Lord, open for me the door of Your grace.'
"Whenever the Messenger of Allah entered the mosque he would say: 'Bismillah, was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubi waftah li abwaba rahmatika. (In the Name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive me my sins and open to me the gates of Your mercy).' When he left he would say: 'Bismillah, was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubi waftah li abwaba fadlika. (In the Name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive me my sins and open to me the gates of Your bounty).'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 771)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , entered upon me and ate some food. Then Bilal came with the adhan (call to prayer) and the Prophet stood up to pray. I took hold of his garment and said, "O father, shouldn't you perform ablution?" He asked, "Why should I perform ablution, O my daughter?" I said, "Because of what the fire has touched." He then said to me, "Isn't the best of your food what the fire has touched?"
"When Messenger of Allah entered the Masjid he said Salat and Salam upon Muhammad and then said: (Rabbighfirli dhunubi, waftahli abwaba rahmatik) 'O pardon my sins, and open the gates of Your mercy for me.' And when he exited he said Salat and Salam upon Muhammad, and then said: (Rabbighfirli dunubi, waftahli abwaba rakmatik) 'O Lord pardon my sins, and open the gates of Your blessings for me.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 314)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah informed me that I am the first of his family to enter Paradise.
[Machine] "That Ali wrote a will for him and in his will was the covering that people claim she made [for herself] and that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her, and when he saw it, he turned back."
[Machine] Fatima used to leap over Hassan ibn Ali and say, "The sea of poetry is similar to the father, resembling the Prophet, but not resembling Ali."
15.02.3 [Machine] Hafsa Umm al-Mu'minin Bint Umar ibn al-Khattab
[Machine] Hafsah told me that there was an hour during which no one would enter upon the Prophet ﷺ, and during this hour, he used to pray two Rak'ahs when the Fajr (dawn) would rise and the Mu'adhdhin would call for prayer. Ayyub said, "I think he meant the two quick Rak'ahs."
'I have matted my hair and garlanded my Hadi (sacrificial animal), so I will not exit Ihram until I exit Ihram after Hajj.''' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2682)
[Machine] What is your concern and his concern? What drives you towards it? Haven't you heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that the Dajjal emerges out of anger that he feels, and A'ffan said it is upon anger that he feels, and Yunus said in his narration, what ignites your interest towards it?
I met lbn Sayyad twice and said to some of them (his friends): You state that it was he (the Dajjal). He said: By Allah, it is not so. I said: You have not told me the truth; by Allah some of you informed me that he would not die until he would have the largest number of offspring and huge wealth and it is he about whom it is thought so. Then Ibn Sayyad talked to us. I then departed and met him again for the second time and his eye had been swollen. I said: What has happened to your eye? He said: I do not know. I said: This is in your head and you do not know about it? He said: If Allah so wills He can create it (eye) in your staff. He then produced a sound like the braying of a donkey. Some of my companions thought that I had struck him with the staff as he was with me that the staff broke into pieces, but, by Allah, I was not conscious of it. He then came to the Mother of the Faithful (Hafsa) and narrated it to her and she said: What concern you have with him? Don't you know that Allah's Apostle ﷺ said that the first thing (by the incitement of which) he would come out before the public would be his anger? (Using translation from Muslim 2932b)
[Machine] He said: "So I entered upon Hafsah, the mother of the believers, and informed her. She said: 'What did you intend for him? Did you not know that his first interaction with people is anger that angers him?'"
[Machine] Some of my companions claimed that I hit him with a stick that I had with me until it broke. As for me, I did not feel that. So, I went to my sister Hafsah, the mother of the believers, and told her about it. She said, "What did you want from him? Don't you know that his first anger towards people is a sudden burst of anger?"
that when the Muaddhin fell silent following the call to Subh prayer and dawn had broken, he would pray two brief rak'ahs before getting up to pray. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1773)
[Machine] It is reported that the Prophet ﷺ used to pray two units of prayer after the call to prayer, and he would prohibit eating. He would not call for the prayer until dawn approached.
Told him that when the Muaddhin fell silent, Messenger of Allah ﷺ would pray two brief rak'ahs. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1772)
[Machine] She said to the Prophet ﷺ , "Why haven't you performed the pilgrimage?". He replied, "I have only shaved my head and put on my pilgrim garment, so I cannot engage in any permissible activities until I have completed the sacrifice."
"When the dawn appears, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would only pray two short Rak'ahs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 583)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray two brief rak'ahs between the adhan and the Iqamah of Subh prayer. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1769)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to narrate his pilgrimage journey, and Kathir ibn Murrah reported that Ibn Umar informed him.
[Machine] Nafi' narrated that Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , informed him that the Prophet ﷺ ordered his wives to enter into the state of ihram for the Farewell Hajj. So, Fulanah said to him, "What is preventing you from entering into the state of ihram?" He replied, "I have already shaved my head and slaughtered my sacrificial animal, so I am not allowed to enter into the state of ihram again."
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded his wives to perform Umrah, they said, "What prevents you, O Messenger of Allah, from performing it with us?" He said, "I have already offered my sacrifice and shaved my head, so I cannot perform it until I offer my sacrifice." And Yakub (Jacob) said in the Book of Hajj, "I will offer my sacrifice."
[Machine] Narrated Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar from Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , who said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray two Rak'ahs before Fajr prayer, before the dawn, in my house. He would perform them very lightly." Nafi' said: "Abdullah also used to perform them similarly."
"There are five kinds of vermin which may be killed out and inside the Haram: Crows, kites, vicious dogs, scorpions and mice." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2881)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I hope that none who witnessed the Battle of Badr and Al-Hudaybiyah will enter Hell, if Allah wills."
