Then Umar came and the same thing happened, then Ali, then some of his companions, and the Prophet ﷺ was in the same state. Then Uthman came and sought permission to enter, and he granted him permission. Uthman took his garment and covered himself with it, and they had a conversation. Then they all left. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali, and the rest of your companions came to you while you were in your state, but when Uthman came, you covered yourself with your garment. Shouldn't you have felt shy in front of him, as the angels feel shy in front of him?"

She said, "And I was praying in the chamber, and Allah revealed this verse to him: 'Indeed, Allah intends to remove from you the impurity, O people of the Prophet's household, and to purify you with thorough purification.' (Quran 33:33) She said, "So he took the edge of the cloth and covered them with it, then he raised his hand and with it pointed towards the sky. Then he said, "O Allah, they are my family and my chosen ones, so remove impurity from them and purify them with thorough purification." She said, "I entered the house and said, 'And I am with you, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Indeed, you are with good, indeed you are with good.' [Machine] Narrated Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet: "My companions asked me to speak to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and ask him to command the people to give him gifts wherever he may be, as they used to compete in giving gifts on the day of Aisha. And we love good in the same way Aisha loves it." So I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Indeed, my companions have asked me to speak to you so that you may command the people to give you gifts wherever you may be, as they compete in giving gifts on the day of Aisha. And we love good in the same way Aisha loves it." The Prophet ﷺ remained silent and did not respond to me. Then my companions came to me and I informed them that he did not speak to me. They said, "Do not worry, and do not mention this the next time you see him." Umm Salama said, "So I stayed and spoke to him again, saying, 'Indeed, my companions have commanded me to speak to you so that you may command the people to give you gifts wherever you may be.' He said to me something similar to that two or three times. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Umm Salama, do not hurt me regarding Aisha, for by Allah, revelation has not been sent down to me while I am in the house of any one of my wives besides Aisha.' So I said, 'I seek refuge in Allah that I should ever assert what I do not know.'
