[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There are some among my companions who will not see me after they depart from me." Omar came and mentioned this to him, to which the Prophet ﷺ said, "Would it not be sufficient for them to know that I am one of them?" Omar said, "Allah, may He be glorified, is sufficient for us and will not let anyone be lost after you."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي مَنْ لَا يَرَانِي بَعْدَ أَنْ يُفَارِقَنِي قَالَ فَأَتَى عُمَرَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ قَالَ فَأَتَاهَا عُمَرُ فَقَالَ أُذَكِّرُكِ اللهَ أَمِنْهُمْ أَنَا؟ قَالَتْ اللهُمَّ لَا وَلَنْ أُبْلِيَ أَحَدًا بَعْدَكَ  

[Machine] "That I have perished, for I am one of the richest of the Quraysh, I sent a message to the land with forty thousand dinars. She said, 'Spend, my son, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Among my companions there are those who will not see me after I leave them.' So I went to Umar and informed him, and he came to her and said, 'I swear by Allah, am I one of them?' She said, 'By Allah, no, and I will never show favoritism to anyone after you.'"  

أَنْ أَكُونَ قَدْ هَلَكْتُ إِنِّي مِنْ أَكْثَرِ قُرَيْشٍ مَالًا بِعْتُ أَرْضًا لِي بِأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفَ دِينَارٍ فَقَالَتْ أَنْفِقْ يَا بُنَيَّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي مَنْ لَا يَرَانِي بَعْدَ أَنْ أُفَارِقَهُ فَأَتَيْتُ عُمَرَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَأَتَاهَا فَقَالَ بِاللهِ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ؟ قَالَتْ اللهُمَّ لَا وَلَنْ أُبَرِّئَ أَحَدًا بَعْدَكَ  

[Machine] "That my wealth should destroy me, I am the richest of the Quraysh. So she said: 'My son, give in charity, for I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Among my companions are those who will not see me after my death.' So 'Abdur-Rahman went out and met 'Umar and informed him of what Umm Salamah said. 'Umar then went and entered upon her and asked: 'Am I among them?' She replied: 'No, and I will not say that to anyone after you.'"  

أَنْ يُهْلِكَنِي كَثْرَةُ مَالِي أَنَا أَكْثَرُ قُرَيْشٍ مَالًا فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ تَصَدَّقْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي مَنْ لَنْ يَرَنِي بَعْدَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ» فَخَرَجَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَلَقِيَ عُمَرَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِمَا قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ؟ فَقَالَتْ لَا وَلَنْ أَقُولَ ذَلِكَ لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Among my companions, there are those who will never see me after I die." So Umar came to her and said, "By Allah, may I be sacrificed for you, am I one of them?" She replied, "No, and I will never praise anyone after you." So Umar cried.  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مِنْ أَصْحَابِي مَنْ لَا يَرَانِي بَعْدَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ أَبَدًا» فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ أَنْشُدُكِ اللهَ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ؟ قَالَتْ لَا وَلَا أُزَكِّي أَحَدًا بَعْدَكَ أَبَدًا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ ؓ
