An Ansari girl was married and she became sick and all her hair fell out intending to provide her with false hair. They asked the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Allah has cursed the lady who artificially lengthens (her or someone else's) hair and also the one who gets her hair lengthened."

أَنْ يَصِلُوهَا فَسَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ

(the daughter of Abu Bakr) Messenger of Allah ﷺ has cursed such a lady as artificially lengthening (her or someone else's) hair or gets her hair lengthened.

لَعَنَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ

The Prophet ﷺ has cursed the lady who lengthens her hair artificially and the one who gets her hair lengthened, and also the lady who tattoos (herself or others) and the one who gets herself tattooed.

لَعَنَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ

The Prophet ﷺ has cursed the lady who lengthens hair artificially and that who gets her hair lengthened in such away, and the lady who practises tattooing and that who gets it done for herself.

لَعَنَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ

A'isha reported that a girl of the Ansar who had fallen ill and had lost the hair was married. They (her relatives) thought of adding false hair (to her head). so they asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, whereupon he cursed the woman who adds false hair and the woman who asks for it.

أَنْ يَصِلُوهُ فَسَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَلَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the woman who adds some false hair and the woman who asks for it, the woman who tattoos and the woman who asks for it.

لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ

Messenger of Allah said: "Salatul-Wusta is the Asr prayer."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلاَةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ

"The people of two religions do not inherit from each other."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَتَوَارَثُ أَهْلُ مِلَّتَيْنِ

"The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: 'The middle Salat is Salat Al-'Asr.'"

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ صَلاَةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ

"I heard Nawfal bin Mu'awiyah say: 'There is a prayer which if a person misses it, it is as of he has been robbed of his family and his wealth.'" Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It is 'Asr prayer.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هِيَ صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ

"I heard Abu Umamah bin Sahl say: 'We prayed Zuhr with 'Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz, then we went out and entered upon Anas bin Malik, and we found him praying 'Asr.'" I said: "O uncle, what is this prayer that you prayed?" He said: "'Asr; this is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that we used to pray with him."

الْعَصْرَ وَهَذِهِ صَلاَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّتِي كُنَّا نُصَلِّي

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions and the woman who has that done.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions and the woman who has that done, the woman who does tattoos and the woman who has that done.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'May Allah curse the woman who affixes hair extensions and the woman who has that done.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions and the one who has that done, and the woman who does tattoos and the one who has that done."

لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُوتَصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُوتَشِمَةَ

“The prayer of one who sits down is equivalent to half of the prayer of one who stands.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ فَرَأَى أُنَاسًا يُصَلُّونَ قُعُودًا فَقَالَ صَلاَةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلاَةِ الْقَائِمِ

the Prophet cursed the woman who does hair extensions and the one who has that done, and the woman who does tattoos and the one who has that done.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ

that the Prophet Allah said: “Suckling once or twice does not make (marriage) unlawful.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1941)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تُحَرِّمُ الْمَصَّةُ وَالْمَصَّتَانِ»

We thought that it was Fajr, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿIt is Asr prayer” - meaning the middle prayer.

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هِيَ صَلاةُالْعَصْرِ يَعْنِي صَلاةَ الْوُسْطَى

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the woman who adds some false hair and the woman who asks for it, the woman who tattoos and the woman who asks for it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4168)

لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَاصِلَةَوَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ

“The prayer of one who sits down is equivalent to half of the prayer of one who stands.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1229)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْجَالِسِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet (saw): "The prayer of the sitting person is half of the prayer of the standing person."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: The prayer of the sitting person is half of the prayer of the standing person."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ نِصْفُ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "The prayer of the person sitting is half of the prayer of the person standing."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever prays upon me a prayer, Allah mentions him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى علَيَّ صَلَاةً فَذَكَرَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is Al-Asr (the afternoon prayer)." Ibn Ja'far said, when asked about the Salah Al-Wustha (the middle prayer).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ هِيَ الْعَصْرُ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ سُئِلَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى

"The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: 'The middle Salat is Salat Al-'Asr.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2983)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

"The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: 'The middle Salat is Salat Al-'Asr.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2983)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pray the prayer at its prescribed time."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "There is no odd number of Witr prayers in one night."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا وِتْرَانِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ

“The prayer of one who sits down is equivalent to half of the prayer of one who stands.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1230)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of the one sitting is half the prayer of the one standing."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةُ الْجَالِسِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The sitting prayer is half the duration of the standing prayer, but not in a reclining position.

صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ غَيْرَ مُتَرَبِّعٍ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said: The prayer of a person sitting is half of the prayer of the person standing.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of the sitting person is half the prayer of the standing person."

(Note: This is a translation of a Hadith, a saying of Prophet Muhammad, and the phrase "ﷺ " is used to show respect for him.)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The sitting prayer is half the length of the standing prayer and is not in a reclined position.

صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ غَيْرَ مُتَرَبِّعٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Da'ud ibn al-Husayn that Ibn Yarbu al-Makhzumi said, "I heard Zayd ibn Thabit say, 'The middle prayer is the prayer of dhuhr.' "

يَقُولُ الصَّلاَةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةُ الظُّهْرِ

"Water is for Water." [1] [1] That is, water for peforming Ghusl is obligatory when the ejaculation of water (semen) occurs. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 199)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «تُحْفَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْمَوْتُ»

Messenger of Allah said: "Salatul-Wusta is the Asr prayer." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 181)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: "There is no Salah for one who does not recite Fatihatil-Kitab." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 910)

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا يَقْرَأُ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: Prayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1295)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى»

The Prophet ﷺ said: Prayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1295)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى»

The Prophet ﷺ said: Prayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1295)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى»

[AI] Regarding the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "There is no intimacy while fasting."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا وِصَالَ فِي الصِّيَامِ»

that the Prophet Allah said: “Suckling once or twice does not make (marriage) unlawful.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1941)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تُحَرِّمُ الْمَصَّةُ وَلَا الْمَصَّتَانِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Prayer while sitting is equivalent to half of the prayer while standing."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى مِثْلِ نِصْفِ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer of those who repent is accepted when the hooves of the camels are heard."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتِ الْفِصَالُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer of the sitting person is equivalent to half the prayer of the standing person."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ مِثْلُ نِصْفِ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ»

[AI] "He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying 'There is no prayer after the Asr prayer.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ»
