6. Meccans (12/16)
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is Mujalid ibn Mas'ud who pledges allegiance to you for migration." He replied, "There is no migration after the conquest of Mecca."
[Machine] I came with my brother Ma'bad to the Prophet ﷺ after the conquest. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to you with my brother to pledge allegiance to him for the migration." He said, "The emigrants have taken what they needed." So I asked, "What can we pledge allegiance to him for?" He said, "For Islam, faith, and striving in the cause of Allah." I met Ma'bad later, and he was the eldest of the two. I asked him, and he said, "Mujashir is truthful."
6.158 [Machine] Bilal bin Al-Harith Al-Muzani
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, a man may speak a word that pleases Allah, without realizing how far it will reach, and Allah will write His pleasure for him with it until the Day of Resurrection. And indeed, a man may speak a word that angers Allah, without realizing how far it will reach, and Allah will write His anger upon him with it until the Day of Resurrection." Alqamah said, "How many words have I avoided due to the hadith of Bilal ibn al-Harith!"
"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is this annulment of Hajj just for us or is it for all the people?' He said: 'No, it is just for us." (Daif) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2808)
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, do you think the enjoyment of Hajj is for us specifically or for people in general?" He replied, "No, it is specifically for us."
6.159 [Machine] Grain, whether my son Khalid
“We entered upon the Prophet ﷺ when he was doing something, so we helped him with it. Then he said: ‘Do not despair of provision so long as your heads are still moving, for a person’s mother bears him red with raw skin, then Allah provides for him.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4165)
[Machine] I heard my nephew Khaled and his brother saying, "We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was doing some work or building something, so we helped him. When he finished, he called us and said, 'Do not lose hope in goodness. Your heads will not shake. Indeed, a person is born from his mother reddish, without any bark. Then Allah gives him and provides for him."
6.160 [Machine] Abdullah bin Abi al-Jadai'a
[Machine] I sat with a group, with me being the fourth among them in Iliya. One of them said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'A man from my Ummah will enter Paradise with the intercession of a man who is more beloved to the Banu Tamim tribe than anyone else.'" We asked, "Besides you, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Besides me." I asked, "Did you hear this yourself?" He said, "Yes." When he got up, I asked, "Who is this man?" They said, "He is the son of Abi al-Jadha."
“More than (the members of the tribe of) Banu Tamim will enter Paradise through the intercession of a man from among my nation.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, besides you?” He said: “Besides me.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4316)
6.161 [Machine] Abbad ibn Qirṭ
[Machine] "Ubada ibn Qurt, indeed you come with matters that are more sensitive in your eyes than hair. We used to count them during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the harmful things. That was mentioned to Muhammad ibn Sireen and he said, 'It is true, and I also see the hem of the garment dragged from it.'"
6.162 [Machine] Muhammad bin Yazid Al-Sulami
My grandfather, my father and I gave the pledge of allegiance to Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ got me engaged and then got me married. One day I went to the Prophet ﷺ with a complaint. My father Yazid had taken some gold coins for charity and kept them with a man in the mosque (to give them to the poor) But I went and took them and brought them to him (my father). My father said, "By Allah! I did not intend to give them to you. " I took (the case) to Messenger of Allah ﷺ . On that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Yazid, you will be rewarded for what you intended. O Ma'n, whatever you have taken is yours." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1422)
[Machine] Ma'n said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Gather in your mosques. When people gather, let them give me the call to prayer.' So we gathered, being the first of the people, and we approached him. He came walking with us until he sat with us. Then, one of us spoke and said, 'Praise be to Allah, no one can praise Him adequately, nor is there anyone who can praise Him less than what is due to Him. There is no way out from Him except through Him. And something similar to this.' At this, the Messenger of Allah became angry and stood up. He paced back and forth while we remained silent and didn't converse with each other. We said, 'Allah must have favored us by allowing us to be the first to come to him and by doing what we did.' He then came and we found him in the mosque of such-and-such tribe. We spoke to him and he came walking with us until he sat down in the gathering that he was previously in or close to. Then, he said, 'Praise be to Allah. Whatever Allah wills, He sets in motion, and whatever He wills, He brings to an end. And verily, magic is part of expression.' Then he approached us, gave us instructions, spoke to us, and taught us."
AbulJuwayriyyah al-Jarmi said: I found a red pitcher containing dinars in Byzantine territory during the reign of Mu'awiyah. A man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ belonging to Banu Sulaym was our ruler. He was called Ma'an ibn Yazid. I brought it to him. He apportioned it among the Muslims. He gave me the same portion which he gave to one of them. He then said: Had I not heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There is no reward except after taking the fifth (from the booty), I would have given you (the reward). He then presented his own share to me, but I refused. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2753)
6.163 [Machine] Abdullah bin Thabit
[Machine] Umar ibn Al-Khattab came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I came across a letter from my brother from the tribe of Qurayzah in which he wrote down passages from the Torah. Should I not recite them to you?" The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed, and Abdullah (ibn Umar) said to him, "Do you not see the expression on the face of the Messenger of Allah?" Umar replied, "We are satisfied with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion, and Muhammad ﷺ as our Messenger." Then the Prophet ﷺ became pleased, and he said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if Musa (Moses) were alive among you and you followed him, leaving me, you would be led astray. Surely, you are my share from among the nations, and I am your share from among the prophets."
6.164 [Machine] A man from Juhayna
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard him say, "O forbidden!" So he said, "O permissible!"
6.165 [Machine] Nameer Al Khazaai
His father told him that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting when praying, putting his right forearm on his right thigh and raising his forefinger, which he had bent slightly, and he was supplicating. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1274)
"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ putting his right hand on his right thigh when praying and pointing with his finger." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1271)
6.166 [Machine] جعدة translates to "curl" in English.
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ and saw a fat man, so the Prophet ﷺ pointed to his stomach with his hand and said, "If this was in someone else, it would be better for him." Then the Prophet ﷺ was brought a man, and they said, "This man wants to kill you." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Why didn't you kill me? Why didn't you kill me? If you had wanted to, Allah would not have allowed you to dominate over me."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a man narrating to him a dream and talking about his fat and bones. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "If this had been in someone other than him, it would have been better for you."
6.167 [Machine] Mohammed Bin Safwan
[Machine] "He hunted two rabbits but did not find a knife to slaughter them with. So, he slaughtered them with a stick. Then, he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who instructed him to eat them."
[Machine] "He passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with two rabbits hanging, and he mentioned their meaning."
6.168 [Machine] My Father, the Soul of Al-Kla'ei
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us and recited Surah Ar-Rum in his prayer. Then he covered some parts of it and said, "Indeed, the devil has covered our recitation due to certain people who come to pray without ablution. So when you come to pray, perform ablution properly."
[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ narrated that the Prophet ﷺ prayed the Fajr prayer and recited Surah Ar-Rum in it, and he (the Prophet) paused, pondered over it, and then mentioned it.
[Machine] I heard a young man, Abu Ru'uh, from the tribe of Kalaa', saying that he prayed with the Prophet ﷺ in the morning and he recited from Surah Ar-Rum. He hesitated in a verse. When he finished, he said, "It seems that the Quran enjoins upon us that some of you pray with us without properly performing ablution. So whoever prays with us should make sure to perfect the ablution."
6.169 [Machine] Tariq bin Ashim Al-Ashjai Abi Malik
[Machine] "It was narrated that he heard the Prophet ﷺ saying to a group of people: Whoever disbelieves in Allah and rejects what is worshiped besides Him, his wealth, his blood, and his account will become forbidden. This was narrated to us by Yazid through a reliable chain in Baghdad. He said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying..."
[Machine] "It was heard that the Prophet ﷺ said, 'According to my companions, killing is enough.'"
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: When a person comes to him and says, "O Messenger of Allah, how should I supplicate when I ask my Lord?" He said: Say, "O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, provide for me, and let me use the four fingers (of the hand) except the thumb, as they gather your worldly life and your hereafter."

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Name yourselves after me (by my name), but do not call yourselves by my Kuniya, and whoever sees me in a dream, he surely sees me, for Satan cannot impersonate me (appear in my figure). And whoever intentionally ascribes something to me falsely, he will surely take his place in the (Hell) Fire. (Using translation from Bukhārī 6197)

6.170 [Machine] Abdullah Al-Yashkari, About a Man, About the Prophet ﷺ
[Machine] I entered the mosque of Al-Kufa when it was first built, and it was made of palm fronds at that time. A man stood and addressed the people, saying: "I have been informed of the farewell pilgrimage of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." So I followed a group of camels, and I approached him until the necks of the two camels were visible. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, guide me to an action that will admit me to Paradise and save me from the Fire." He said, "Avoid evil and you will have fulfilled the requirements. Worship Allah alone without associating partners with Him, establish prayer, pay zakah, perform Hajj, and fast during Ramadan. Leave the path of the travelers."

[Machine] I approached a man who was addressing a group of people, so I sat down and he described the Messenger of Allah to me while I was heading to Arafat from Mina. Then he mentioned a hadith, so I said: "O Messenger of Allah, inform me of a deed that will bring me closer to Jannah (Paradise) and distance me from the Fire (Hell)." He said: "Establish the prayer, give zakat, perform Hajj to the House, fast during Ramadan, and love for the people what you love for yourself, and dislike for them what you dislike for yourself. Avoid interactions with travelers."

6.171 [Machine] A Man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ
[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ told me in this room, I thought. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon on the Day of Sacrifice while riding a reddish-brown camel. He said: This is the day of sacrifice and this is the day of the great Hajj.

6.172 [Machine] Malik ibn Nudlah, Father of Abu Al-Ahwas
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me and noticed that I was wearing good clothes. He asked, "Do you have wealth?" I replied, "Yes." He then asked, "From what type of wealth?" I answered, "From all types of wealth that Allah has bestowed upon me, such as sheep and camels." He said, "May the blessings and generosity of Allah be upon you. Remember, and narrate, what happened to Shu'bah."
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was wearing a worn-out cloak. He said, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes." He asked, "From what?" I said, "From all kinds of wealth, from camels, slaves, horses, and sheep." He said, "If Allah gives you wealth, let Him see it on you." Then he said, "Do you have breeding camels?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Those which have healthy ears?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Then go to Musa (Moses) and learn from him what is lawful and unlawful for you regarding them." I said, "Yes." He said, "Then whatever Allah gives you, and whatever Moses teaches you, consider them both as good." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Suppose I do not find him?" He said, "Then, act on what he did and send it (the charity, etc.) to the poor, for that is included in what has been said to you."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you have any wealth?" He said, "Yes, Allah has given me wealth in the form of camels, horses, and slaves." He said, "When Allah bestows goodness upon you, let it be seen on you."
The Prophet ﷺ said: Hands are of three types: Allah's hand is the upper one; the bestower's hand is the one near it; the beggar's hand is the lower one. So bestow what is surplus, and do not submit yourself to the demand of your soul. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1649)
[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ while I was in a state of dishevelment. He said, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes." He asked, "What is your wealth?" I replied, "I have wealth from horses, camels, slaves, and sheep." He said, "If Allah gives you wealth, then let it be poured upon you. Do you breed healthy camels among your people, so you intentionally approach a male from the female and cut it off, or cut off her ear? And do you say that this is a Bahr (a certain type of camel) while it has cut ears, and you say this is a Surum (another type of camel) and you forbid it for yourself and your family?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Whatever Allah gives you is lawful for you, and may Allah's help be stronger than your help and Musa (Moses) is the strongest helper from Allah, and perhaps he said it and perhaps he did not say it, and perhaps he said, 'May Allah's help be stronger than your help and Musa (Moses) is the strongest helper from Musa (Moses)." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, there was a man with whom I had a dispute, and he did not treat me kindly or honor me. Then he had a dispute with me and treated me kindly or settled it according to what he did. He said, 'Rather, treat him kindly.'"
[Machine] "His father came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was unshaven and poorly dressed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'Do you not have any wealth?' He said, 'Allah ﷻ has given me wealth of all kinds.' He ﷺ said, 'Whenever Allah ﷻ bestows a blessing upon a servant, He ﷻ loves to see its signs upon him.'"

AbuSalih reported on the authority of some Companions of the Prophet ﷺ: The Prophet ﷺ said to a person: what do you say in prayer? He replied: I first recite tashahhud (supplication recited in sitting position), and then I say: O Allah, I ask Thee for Paradise, and I seek refuge in Thee from Hell-Fire, but I do not understand your sound and the sound of Mu'adh (what you say or he says in prayer). The Prophet ﷺ said: We too go around it (paradise and Hell-fire). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 792)
