١٢۔ بَابُ الزَّايِ ص ٥

[Machine] His name is Zaid.

مَنِ اسْمُهُ زَيْدٌ

أَبُو الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ

[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the Arabs and asked him for a piece of land between two mountains. The Messenger of Allah wrote it for him, so he embraced Islam. Then he went to his people and said to them, "Embrace Islam, for I have come to you from a man who gives generously to those who do not fear poverty."  

الطبراني:٤٨٧٧حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْعَدَوِيُّ ثنا مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ فَسَأَلَهُ أَرْضًا بَيْنَ جَبَلَيْنِ فَكَتَبَ لَهُ بِهَا فَأَسْلَمَ ثُمَّ أَتَى قَوْمَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ أَسْلِمُوا فَقَدْ جِئْتُكُمْ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَجُلٍ يُعْطِي عَطِيَّةَ مَنْ لَا يَخَافُ الْفَاقَةَ

[Machine] Zaid bin Thabit said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not give rulings except in three types of cases: those concerning inheritances, transfers and clarifications. In cases concerning inheritances, he ruled on thirty-three issues, in transfers he ruled on fifteen issues, and in clarifications, he ruled on five issues. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also ruled that the price of an animal should be one-fourth of its value."  

الطبراني:٤٨٧٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ بْنُ يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزِّنَادِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ قَالَ

زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ «لَمْ يَقْضِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا ثَلَاثَ قَضِيَّاتٍ فِي الْآمَّةِ وَالْمُنَقِّلَةِ وَالْمُوضِحَةِ فِي الْآمَّةِ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَفِي الْمُنَقِّلَةِ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ وَفِي الْمُوضِحَةِ خَمْسًا وَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي عَيْنِ الدَّابَّةِ رُبُعَ ثَمَنِهَا»  

قَيْسُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There was no one between Uthman and Ruqayyah and Lut from the immigrants." Meaning that they were the first to migrate to the land of Abyssinia.  

الطبراني:٤٨٨١حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السِّمْسَارُ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ وَهْبٍ مَوْلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا كَانَ بَيْنَ عُثْمَانَ وَرُقَيَّةَ وَلُوطٍ مِنْ مُهَاجِرٍ» يَعْنِي أَنَّهُمَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ  

سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ

[Machine] One of us narrated the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "And what am I telling you?" I was his neighbor, so whenever revelation descended, he would send for me and I would write down the revelation. And whenever we mentioned the Hereafter, he would mention it along with us. And whenever we mentioned the worldly affairs, he would mention them along with us. And whenever we mentioned food, he would mention it along with us. So, all of this I am telling you based on his words.  

الطبراني:٤٨٨٢حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ نَفَرٌ عَلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَقَالُوا

حَدَّثَنَا بَعْضٌ حَدِيثَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ وَمَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ؟ كُنْتُ جَارَهُ «فَكَانَ إِذَا نَزَلَ الْوَحْيُ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ فَكَتَبْتُ الْوَحْيَ وَكَانَ إِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الْآخِرَةَ ذَكَرَهَا مَعَنَا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الدُّنْيَا ذَكَرَهَا مَعَنَا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الطَّعَامَ ذَكَرَهُ مَعَنَا» فَكُلُّ هَذَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ عَنْهُ  

سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? There is no power or strength except with Allah." Abu Nu'aym did not mention anything else.  

الطبراني:٤٨٨٥حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَلْطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ خَارِجَةَ  

بُسْرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ secluded himself in a room, where he used to pray. His companions noticed this and started praying with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "The best prayer is the prayer of a man in his own house, except for the obligatory prayers."  

الطبراني:٤٨٩٦حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ احْتَجَرَ حُجْرَةً فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي فِيهَا فَفَطِنَ لَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ فَكَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ بِصَلَاتِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ»  

12.1 [Machine] Zaid bin Al-Khattab bin Nufayl bin Abdul-Uzza bin Rabah bin Abdullah bin Qurt bin Raza bin Adi bin Ka'b, "A Badri companion who was martyred on the Day of Yamama.

١٢۔١ زَيْدُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بْنِ نُفَيْلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ رَبَاحِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قُرْطِ بْنِ رَزَاحِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ «بَدْرِيٌّ اسْتُشْهِدَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ»

12.2 [Machine] Zaid bin Haritha bin Sharahil bin Ka'ab bin Abdul Uzza bin Yazid bin Amr Al-Qays Al-Kalbi, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , martyred on the Day of Mu'tah in the 8th year.

١٢۔٢ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ شَرَاحِيلَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ امْرِئٍ الْقَيْسِ الْكَلْبِيًّ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «اسْتُشْهِدَ يَوْمَ مُؤْتَةَ فِي سَنَةِ ثَمَانٍ»

12.6 [Machine] The death of my father Talha, "There is disagreement about his death, it was said that he died as a martyr at sea, and it was said that he died in Medina. As for those who mentioned that he died as a martyr at sea

١٢۔٦ ذِكْرُ وَفَاةِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ «وَقَدِ اخْتُلِفَ فِي وَفَاتِهِ فَقِيلَ مَاتَ غَازِيًا فِي الْبَحْرِ، وَقِيلَ مَاتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَأَمَّا مَنْ ذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ مَاتَ غَازِيًا فِي الْبَحْرِ»

the Messenger of Allah granted a concession regarding 'Araya sales regarding dried dates and fresh dates. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4537)  

الطبراني:٤٨٤٨حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنٌ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَخَّصَ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا بِالتَّمْرِ وَالرُّطَبِ»

[Machine] "He used to say when lying down, 'O Allah, I ask You for the wealth of the family and possessions, and I seek refuge in You from being cursed with severed kinship.'"  

الطبراني:٤٨٤٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْهَيْثَمِ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ حِينَ يَضْطَجِعُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ غِنَى الْأَهْلِ وَالْمَوْلَى وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ تَدْعُوَ عَلَيَّ رَحِمٌ قَطَعْتُهَا»

الطبراني:٤٨٥٠حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ لَا أَدْرِي ذَكَرَ أَبَاهُ أَمْ لَا

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَخَّصَ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا بِالتَّمْرِ وَالرُّطَبِ»

Zaid bin Thabit said “I was beside the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ when the divinely-inspired calmness overtook him and the thigh of the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ fell on my thigh. I did not find any weightier than the thigh of the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. He then regained his composure and said “Write down. I wrote on a shoulder. Not equal are thise believers who sit (at home), other than those who have a (disabling) hurt, and those who strive in the way of Allaah. When Ibn Umm Makhtum who was blind heard the excellence of the warriors. He stood up and said “Apostle of Allaah ﷺ how is it for those believers who are unable to fight (in the path of Allaah)? When he finished his question his divinely-inspired calmness overtook him, and his thigh fell on my thigh and I found its weight the second time as I found the first time.” When the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ regained his composure, he said “Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said “Other than those who have a (disabling hurt). Zaid said “Allaah, the exalted, revealed it alone and I appended it.” By Him in Whose hands is my life, I am seeing, as it were the place where I put it (i.e., the verse) at the crack in the shoulder.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2507)   

الطبراني:٤٨٥١حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَلَانِسِيُّ ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَبُو الزِّنَادِ أَنَّ خَارِجَةَ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ السَّكِينَةَ غَشِيَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ زَيْدٌ وَأَنَا إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَوَقَعَتْ فَخِذُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى فَخِذِي فَمَا وَجَدْتُ شَيْئًا أَثْقَلَ مِنْ فَخِذِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ «اكْتُبْ» فَكَتَبْتُ {لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ} {وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ} الْآيَاتِ كُلَّهَا قَالَ فَكَتَبْتُ ذَلِكَ فِي كَتِفٍ فَقَامَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى حِينَ سَمِعَ فَضِيلَةَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ الْجِهَادَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ؟ فَمَا قَضَى ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ كَلَامَهُ أَوْ قَالَ إِلَّا أَنْ يُحْصِيَ كَلَامَهُ حَتَّى غَشِيَتْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ السَّكِينَةُ فَوَقَعَتْ فَخِذُهُ عَلَى فَخِذِي فَوَجَدْتُ مِنْ ثِقَلِهَا الثَّانِيَةَ مِثْلَ مَا وَجَدْتُ مِنْهَا فِي الْمَرَّةِ الْأُولَى ثُمَّ سُرِّيَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «اقْرَأْ» فَقَرَأْتُ {لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ} فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ {غَيْرُ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ} قَالَ زَيْدٌ فَأَلْحَقْتُهَا فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى مُلْحَقَتِها عِنْدَ صَدْعٍ فِي الْكَتِفِ

[Machine] I was with the Prophet ﷺ when he was covered or the tranquility descended upon him and he sat on my thigh. I did not feel anything heavier than the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When I was released or separated from him, he said, "Read." So I read. He said, "Write." [He commanded me], "{Those who sit [at home] and those who strive in the cause of Allah} {are not alike."} 'Amr bin Umm Maktum al-A'wami, the blind man, said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have discomfort in my eyes, so the tranquility covered him and he sat on my thigh. I did not find anything heavier than the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." When I was released or separated from him, he said, "Read." So I read. He said, "Write," "{Except those who are disabled}." I did not forget its attachment at a crevice in the shoulder.  

الطبراني:٤٨٥٢حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَتَغَشَّتْهُ أَوْ فَنَزَلَتِ السَّكِينَةُ فَوَقَعَتْ فَخِذُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى فَخِذِي فَمَا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا تَوَطَّأَ أَثْقَلَ مِنْ فَخِذِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أُسْرِيَ أَوْ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ قَالَ «اقْرَأْ» فَقَرَأْتُ قَالَ «اكْتُبْ» {لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ} {وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ} فَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ الْأَعْمَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بِعَيْنَيَّ ضَرَرًا فَغَشِيَتْهُ السَّكِينَةُ فَوَقَعَتْ فَخِذُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى فَخِذِي فَمَا وَجَدْتُ شَيْئًا قَطُّ أَثْقَلَ مِنْ فَخِذِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أُسْرِيَ أَوْ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ قَالَ «اقْرَأْ» فَقَرَأْتُ قَالَ اكْتُبْ {غَيْرُ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ} فَمَا نَسِيتُ مُلْحَقِهَا عِنْدَ صَدَعٍ فِي الْكَتِفِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the mosque that was established on righteousness. He replied, "It is my mosque, this one."

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to learn the Book of the Jews." He said, "So I would write for him and write to them and read to him when they wrote."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me to learn the book of the Jews, and within half a month, I had mastered it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Jews will never believe in my book." When I learned it, I used to write it for him.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted the sale of dried dates by measure instead of count.

«رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا أَنْ تُبَاعَ كَيْلًا بِخَرْصِهَا»

[Machine] About the inheritance of the grandfather and the siblings and indeed the Kalalah and much of what is decided in these inheritances, only Allah knows the extent of it, and we used to bring matters regarding it to the caliphs after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so we would take from it what we wanted to disclose, and we would give fatwas about it after being consulted about the inheritances.

عَنْ مِيرَاثِ الْجَدِّ وَالْأُخْوَةِ وَإِنَّ الْكَلَالَةَ وَكَثِيرًا مِمَّا يُقْضَى بِهِ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَوَارِيثِ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَبْلَغُهَا إِلَّا اللهُ وَقَدْ كُنَّا نَحْضُرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أُمُورًا عِنْدَ الْخُلَفَاءِ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَعِينَا مِنْهَا مَا شِئْنَا أَنْ نَعِيَ فَنَحْنُ نُفْتِي بِهِ بَعْدُ مَنِ اسْتَفْتَانَا فِي الْمَوَارِيثِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in the city while they were trading fruits before they ripened. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard noise and loud voices from the people, so he asked, "What is this?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah, these are people who are trading fruits in the palm trees and then they mention that they have encountered corruption afterward." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "So do not conduct transactions until they ripen."  

الطبراني:٤٨٦١حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ وَهُمْ يَتَبَايَعُونَ الثِّمَارَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطِيبَ فَسَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَغَطًا وَصَوْتًا عَالِيًا مِنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَؤُلَاءِ قَوْمٌ تَبَايَعُوا الثِّمَارَ فِي النَّخْلِ ثُمَّ ذَكَرُوا أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْفَسَادُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «فَلَا تَبَايَعُوا إِذَنْ حَتَّى تَطِيبَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the ritual ablution for his state of consecration at the location where he consecrated.

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اغْتَسَلَ لِإِحْرَامِهِ حَيْثُ أَحْرَمَ»

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Medina, the Banu al-Najjar came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, among us is a young boy who has memorized ten surahs that have been revealed to you." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called me and I recited them to him."

لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ أَتَاهُ بَنُو النَّجَّارِ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ مِنَّا غُلَامًا قَدْ قَرَأَ مِمَّا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْكَ بِضْعَ عَشْرَةَ سُورَةً «فَدَعَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ»

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ he said, "When the limits (of punishment) are applied, there is no intercession."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْحُدُودُ فَلَا شُفْعَةَ»

[Machine] He used to revive the twenty-third night of Ramadan and the twenty-seventh night, as he did not revive the seventeenth night. So he was asked, "How do you specifically single out the seventeenth night?" He said, "Indeed, on that night, the Quran was revealed, and in its morning, the truth and falsehood were separated, and on it, the face becomes bright."  

الطبراني:٤٨٦٥حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بِلَالٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُحْيِي لَيْلَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَلَيْلَةَ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ وَلَا كَإِحْيَائِهِ لَيْلَةَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ كَيْفَ تَخُصُّ لَيْلَةَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ فِيهَا نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ وَفِي صَبِيحَتِهَا فُرِّقَ بَيْنَ الْحَقِّ وَالْبَاطِلِ وَكَانَ فِيهَا يُصْبِحُ مُبْهَجَ الْوَجْهِ»

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْحَرْبُ خَدْعَةٌ»

[Machine] This verse, which is in Surah An-Nisa' (Chapter 4) {And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him}, was revealed after the verses in Surah Al-Furqan (Chapter 25) {And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty}. Six months apart.

نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي سُورَةِ النِّسَاءِ {وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلعَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا} بَعْدَ الْآيَاتِ الَّتِي فِي سُورَةِ الْفُرْقَانِ {وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًا} بِسِتَّةِ أَشْهُرٍ

"I heard Kharijah bin Zaid bin Thabit narrate that his father said: (The Verse) 'And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell' was revealed and we became worried about it. Then the Verse in Al-Furqan 'And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, or kill such person as Allah has forbidden, except by right.' was revealed." [Machine] Zaid did not find Marwan sitting for him behind the dome as the scribe. Instead, he started asking Zaid and the scribe wrote down what Zaid told him. He said, "O Abu Sa'id, I can only see that we have achieved what you were avoiding." Abu Sa'id said, "By Allah, I will not throw it until I hear it." So, he brought the book, tore it, and said, "Verily, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from documenting his hadith."

زَيْدٌ لَا فَأَجْلَسَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ كَاتِبًا خَلْفَ الْقُبَّةِ فَجَعَلَ هُوَ يَسْأَلُ زَيْدًا وَيَكْتُبُ الْكَاتِبُ مَا يُحَدِّثُ بِهِ زَيْدٌ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ مَا أُرَانَا إِلَّا قَدْ ظَفِرْنَا بِمَا أَبَيْتَ قَالَ وَاللهِ لَا أَرْمِي حَتَّى أُوتَى بِهِ فَجَاءَ بِالْكِتَابِ فَشَقَّهُ وَقَالَ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَكْتُبَ حَدِيثَهُ»

“I saw a man asking my father about a man who goes out to fight and buys and sells and trades during his campaign. My father said to him: ‘We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Tabuk, and we bought and sold, and he saw us and did not forbid us (to do that).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2823)

عَنْ رَجُلٍ يَغْزُو وَيَبِيعُ وَيُشْتَرِي وَيَتَّجِرُ فِي غَزْوَتِهِ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي «كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِتَبُوكَ نَشْتَرِي وَنَبِيعُ وَهُوَ يَرَانَا فَمَا يَنْهَانَا»

[Machine] "The Day of Ashura is not the day that people claim it to be, but rather it was the day when the Kaaba was covered and the Abyssinians performed their games in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . It used to occur every year, and people would come to a certain Jew and ask him questions. When the Jew died, they came to Zaid ibn Thabit and asked him."

«لَيْسَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ بِالْيَوْمِ الَّذِي يَقُولُهُ النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَوْمَ تُسْتَرُ فِيهِ الْكَعْبَةُ وتَقْلِسُ فِيهِ الْحَبَشَةُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ يَدُورُ فِي السَّنَةِ فَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَأْتُونَ فُلَانًا الْيَهُودِيَّ فَيَسْأَلُونَهُ فَلَمَّا مَاتَ الْيَهُودِيُّ أَتَوْا زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ فَسَأَلُوهُ»

[Machine] O mother of Al-Ala, take care of Aba Saib, for indeed you are in Paradise. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard her and said, "Who is this?" She said, "I am, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "And how do you know?" She said, "O Messenger of Allah, Uthman bin Maz'un." He said, "Yes, indeed, we have only seen good. I am the Messenger of Allah, and by Allah, I do not know what will happen to me."  

الطبراني:٤٨٧٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ مَظْعُونٍ لَمَّا قُبِرَ قَالَتْ

أُمُّ الْعَلَاءِ طِبْ أَبَا السَّائِبِ نَفْسًا إِنَّكَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَسَمِعَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذِهِ؟» فَقَالَتْ أَنَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللهُ فَقَالَ «وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ؟» قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ قَالَ «أَجَلْ مَا رَأَيْنَا إِلَّا خَيْرًا أَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ وَاللهِ مَا أَدْرِي مَا يُصْنَعُ بِي»

The Prophet ﷺ said: If a large amount of anything causes intoxication, a small amount of it is prohibited. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3681)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? There is no power or strength except by Allah."  

الطبراني:٤٨٨٣حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ ثنا أَبُو صَدَقَةَ الْجُدِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثُمَّ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3825)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ» قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to prolong the recitation in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and he used to move his lips. I have learned that he only moved his lips for the recitation."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُطَوِّلُ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَيُحَرِّكُ شَفَتَيْهِ وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ إِنَّمَا يُحَرِّكُ الشَّفَتَيْنِ لِلْقِرَاءَةِ»

[Machine] Zaid bin Thabit accompanied the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ one morning until we reached the meeting point of the roads in Medina. We saw a Bedouin man holding onto the reigns of his camel and he approached the Prophet while we were surrounding him. The Bedouin man said, "Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and may the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you." The Prophet ﷺ responded to him and asked, "How did you fare this morning?" The Bedouin man replied, "The camel became restless and a man approached us, looking like a guard. The guard said, 'O Messenger of Allah, this Bedouin man stole my camel.' The camel became calm for a while, and I listened to its sounds and laments. When the camel was calm, the guard left and the Prophet ﷺ approached the Bedouin man and said, 'Leave him, for the camel has testified that you are a liar.' The guard left and the Prophet ﷺ turned to the Bedouin man and asked, 'What did you say when you came to me?' The Bedouin man replied, 'I said, 'By my father and mother, O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad so that no prayer remains without Your blessings. O Allah, bless Muhammad so that no blessing remains without Your blessings. O Allah, grant peace upon Muhammad so that no peace remains without Your peace. O Allah, have mercy upon Muhammad so that no mercy remains without Your mercy.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Verily, Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, has responded to it before I did, and the camel speaks to defend its own cause, and the angels have covered the horizons.'"  

الطبراني:٤٨٨٧حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا فَرْوَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحَاطِبِيُّ ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ قَالَ

زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ غَدَوْنَا يَوْمًا غُدْوَةً مِنَ الْغَدَوَاتِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى كُنَّا فِي مَجَمْعِ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَبَصُرْنَا بِأَعْرَابِيٍّ أَخَذَ بِخِطَامِ بَعِيرِهِ حَتَّى وَقَفَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ حَوْلَهُ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «كَيْفَ أَصْبَحْتَ؟» قَالَ وَرَغَا الْبَعِيرُ وَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ كَأَنَّهُ حَرَسِيٌّ فَقَالَ الْحَرَسِيُّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا الْأَعْرَابِيُّ سَرَقَ الْبَعِيرَ فَرَغَا الْبَعِيرُ سَاعَةً وحَنَّ فَأَنْصَتَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْمَعُ رُغَاءَهُ وحَنِينَهُ فَلَمَّا هَدَأَ الْبَعِيرُ أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الْحَرَسِيِّ فَقَالَ «انْصَرَفْ عَنْهُ فَإِنَّ الْبَعِيرَ شَهِدَ عَلَيْكَ أَنَّكَ كَاذِبٌ» فَانْصَرَفَ الْحَرَسِيُّ وَأَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الْأَعْرَابِيِّ فَقَالَ «أَيُّ شَيْءٍ قُلْتَ حِينَ جِئْتَنِي؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ بِأَبِي أَنْتِ وَأُمِّي اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ حَتَّى لَا تَبْقَى صَلَاةٌ اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ حَتَّى لَا تَبْقَى بَرَكَةٌ اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ حَتَّى لَا يَبْقَى سَلَّامٌ اللهُمَّ وَارْحَمْ مُحَمَّدًا حَتَّى لَا تَبْقَى رَحْمَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ أَبْدَاهَا لِي وَالْبَعِيرُ يَنْطِقُ بِعُذْرِهِ وَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ قَدْ سَدُّوا الْأُفُقَ»

[Machine] I used to write down the revelation in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He would feel intense pressure and sweat profusely, as if pearls were falling from him. Then, it would ease off from him and I would write while he dictated to me. I would not stop until I felt heavy. When I had finished, he would say, "Read it." So, I would read it to him, and if there was any mistake, he would correct it.

كُنْتُ أَكْتُبُ الْوَحْيَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ يَشْتَدُّ نَفَسَهُ ويَعْرَقُ عَرَقًا شَدِيدًا مِثْلَ الْجُمَانِ ثُمَّ يُسَرَّى عَنْهُ فَأَكْتُبُ وَهُوَ يُمْلِي عَلَيَّ فَمَا أَفْرَغُ حَتَّى يَثْقُلَ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُ قَالَ «اقْرَأْ» فَأَقْرَأَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِ سَقْطٌ أَقَامَهُ

[Machine] I found in the book of my uncle Abdulhamid, who narrated to me Aqil, who narrated to me Sa'id bin Sulaiman, who informed him from his father Sulaiman bin Zaid, who narrated from Zaid bin Thabit, who said, "I used to write down the revelation for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When it would descend upon him, it would burden him intensely and he would sweat profusely, like pearls. Then it would be taken away from him, and I would enter upon him with a piece of parchment or a bone fragment, and I would write while he dictated to me. I would not stop until my legs were about to break from the weight of the Qur'an, to the extent that I would say, 'I will never be able to walk on my legs again.' And when I would finish, he would say, "Read it." If there was any mistake in it, he would rectify it and then I would take it out to the people."

وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ خَالِي عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ حَدَّثَنِي عَقِيلُ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَكْتُبُ الْوَحْيَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ إِذَا نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَخَذَتْهُ بُرَحَاءٌ شَدِيدَةٌ وَعَرِقَ عَرَقًا شَدِيدًا مِثْلَ الْجُمَانِ ثُمَّ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ فَكُنْتُ أَدْخَلُ عَلَيْهِ بِقِطْعَةِ الْقَتَبِ أَوْ كِسْرَةٍ فَأَكْتُبُ وَهُوَ يُمْلِي عَلَيَّ فَمَا أَفْرَغُ حَتَّى تَكَادَ رِجْلَيَّ تَنْكَسِرُ مِنْ ثِقَلِ الْقُرْآنِ حَتَّى أَقُولَ لَا أَمْشِي عَلَى رِجْلَيَّ أَبَدًا فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُ قَالَ «اقْرَأْهُ» فَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِ سَقْطٌ أَقَامَهُ ثُمَّ أَخْرَجُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّاسِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah brighten the face of a person who hears a tradition from us and memorizes it, then conveys it to others. There are often those who understand jurisprudence but are not jurists."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَحَفِظَهُ فَبَلَّغَهُ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَيْسَ بِفَقِيهٍ»

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he said, "May Allah brighten the face of a person who hears a statement from us, memorizes it, and conveys it to others. Perhaps the one who carries knowledge is not himself a scholar."

“Zaid bin Thabit departed from Marwan at mid-day. I said: ‘He has not sent him out at this time of the day except for something he asked.’ So I asked him, and he said: ‘He asked me about some things we heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Whoever is focused only on this world, Allah will confound his affairs and make him fear poverty constantly, and he will not get anything of this world except that which has been decreed for him. Whoever is focused on the Hereafter, Allah will settle his affairs for him and make him feel content with his lot, and his provision and worldly gains will undoubtedly come to him.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4105)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَتْ نِيَّتُهُ الْآخِرَةَ جَمَعَ اللهُ لَهُ شَمْلَهُ وَجَعَلَ غِنَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَأَتَتْهُ الدُّنْيَا رَاغِمَةً وَمَنْ كَانَتْ نِيَّتُهُ الدُّنْيَا فَرَّقَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرَهُ وَجَعَلَ فَقْرَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَأْتِهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ»

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ made a room out of a piece of matting and prayed in it. Some people heard about it and started making noise. He went out to them and said, "What is the matter with you? I have never seen anything good from you until I feared that it would be written against you. Even if it were written against you, you would not have fulfilled it. O people, pray in your houses, for the best prayer of a person is in his house except for the obligatory prayer."  

الطبراني:٤٨٩٢حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ الْعَمِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُخْتَارٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حَجَرَ حُجْرَةً حَسِبَهُ بِحَصِيرٍ فَصَلَّى فِيهَا فَسَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ قَوْمٌ فَجَعَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ يَتَنَحْنَحُ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ «مَا زَالَ بِكُمْ مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ صَنِيعِكُمْ حَتَّى خَشِيتُ أَنْ تُكْتَبَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ كُتِبَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ مَا قُمْتُمْ بِهَا فَصَلُّوا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ فَإِنَّ أَفْضَلَ صَلَاةِ الْمَرْءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: The prayer a man offers in his house is more excellent than his prayer in this mosque of mine except obligatory prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1044)  

الطبراني:٤٨٩٣حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ جَبَلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الصَّائِغُ قَالُوا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بَرَدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ الْمَرْءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ فِي مَسْجِدِي إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ built a chamber in the mosque. He used to come out at night and pray there. They (the people) also prayed along with him. They would come (to prayer) every night. If on any night the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not come out, they would cough, raise their voices and throw pebbles and sand on his door. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to time in anger and said: O People, you kept on doing this till I thought that it will be prescribed for you. Offer your prayers in your houses, for a man's prayer is better in his house except obligatory prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1447)   

الطبراني:٤٨٩٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ثنا سَالِمٌ أَبُو النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

احْتَجَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حُجْرَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي فِيهَا فَرَآهُ رَجُلٌ فَصَلُّوا بِصَلَاتِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ حَضَرُوهُ وَهُوَ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَتَنَحْنَحُوا وَحَصَبُوا الْبَابَ وَرَفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُغْضَبًا فَقَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ مَا زَالَ بِكُمْ صَنِيعُكُمْ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَتُكْتَبُ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ صَلَاةِ الْمَرْءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ»
