ahmad:16928And Qāl

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The people are followers of the Quraysh in this matter. Their best in the pre-Islamic era were their best in Islam if they acquire knowledge. By Allah! If it weren't for the arrogance of the Quraysh, I would have informed them of their status in the sight of Allah, the Exalted.'"

ahmad:16929

[Machine] "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: O Allah, there is no preventer for what You have given, and there is no giver for what You have prevented, and this effort of mine cannot benefit anyone besides You. Whomsoever You desire good for, You make him understand the religion. And the best women who rode the camels are the righteous women of the Quraysh. They protected them with their own hands and supported them with their children from a young age."

ahmad:16930ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith > ʿUmar b. Saʿīd b. Abū Ḥusayn > ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAlī al-ʿAdawī > Abāh Khbarah > Muʿāwiyah > al-Minbar Bimakkah

[Machine] He told him that he heard Muawiya on the pulpit in Mecca saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing gold and silk.

ahmad:16931Abū Salamah al-Khuzāʿī > Layth / Ibn Saʿd > Yazīd b. al-Hād > ʿAbd al-Wahhāb b. Abū Bakr > Ibn Shihāb > Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Muʿāwiyah b. Abū Sufyān

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever Allah wishes to bring good to, He gives him understanding of the religion, and this Ummah will continue to be established on the command of Allah. Those who oppose them will not harm them until the command of Allah comes while they are still apparent among people."

ahmad:16932Isḥāq b. ʿĪsá > Yaḥyá b. Ḥamzah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Yazīd b. Jābir > ʿUmayr b. Hāniʾ > Muʿāwiyah b. Abū Sufyān > Hadhā al-Minbar

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There will always be a group from my Ummah standing firm upon the command of Allah, unaffected by those who abandon or oppose them, until the command of Allah comes to pass. They will be apparent to the people." Then Malik ibn Yakhamir As-SakSakī stood up and said, "O Amir al-Mu'minin, I heard Mu'adh ibn Jabal saying this about the people of ash-Sham." Mu'awiyah replied in a raised voice, "This is Malik, claiming that he heard Mu'adh saying this about the people of ash-Sham."

ahmad:16933Rawḥ > Abū Umayyah ʿAmr b. Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd from my father

[Machine] "Muaawiya took the position of governorship after Abu Huraira and followed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in it. Abu Huraira complained and while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was performing wudu, he raised his head towards him once or twice and said, 'O Muawiya, if you are entrusted with authority, fear Allah ﷻ and be just.' He said, 'I continued to think that I was being tested with a work until I was tested.'"

ahmad:16934Hāshim > Shuʿbah > ʿAmr b. Murrah > Saʿīd b. al-Musayyib

[Machine] "That someone other than Jews makes this, and indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called it "zoor," as if he means intimacy."

ahmad:16935Khalaf b. al-Walīd > Ibn ʿAyyāsh / Ismāʿīl > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār And Ghayrih > Abū Ḥarīz a freed slave of Muʿāwiyah

[Machine] The people gathered and Muawiyah delivered a speech in Hims. In his speech, he mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited seven things. I will now inform you of these seven things and prohibit you from indulging in them. These things are: wailing, poetry, images/statues, excessive adornment/display, the skins of predatory animals, gold, and silk.

ahmad:16936Abū al-Mughīrah > Ṣafwān > Abū al-Zāhiriyyah > Muʿāwiyah b. Abū Sufyān

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am only a messenger, and Allah guides and divides. And Allah gives, so whoever receives anything from me with good inclination and good guidance, it is a blessed thing for him. And whoever receives anything from me with bad inclination and bad guidance, it is he who eats but does not get full."

ahmad:16937Abū al-Mughīrah > Ṣafwān > Azhar b. ʿAbdullāh al-Hawzanī

[Machine] "Abu Al-Mughira, in another place, narrated that Al-Harazi reported from Abu Amer Abdullah ibn Luhay saying: We performed Hajj with Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan. When we arrived in Mecca, he stood up after performing the Dhuhr prayer and said: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The people of the two scriptures (Jews and Christians) split into seventy-two sects, and this Ummah (Muslim nation) will split into seventy-three sects, all of them in Hellfire except one, and that is the Jama'ah (main group). And indeed, there will emerge among my Ummah people who will follow other desires (sects) like stray dogs follow their owners. Any vein or joint they enter, and O people of the Arabs, I swear by Allah, if you don't adhere to what your Prophet ﷺ brought, then others among the people will be more worthy of following it."

ahmad:16938Marwān b. Shujāʿ > Khuṣayf > Mujāhid And ʿAṭāʾ > Ibn ʿAbbās > Muʿāwiyah

[Machine] He informed him that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ trim his hair with a scissors. So I said to Ibn Abbas, "We only learned of this matter from Muawiyah. " He said, "Muawiyah was not accused of anything regarding the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

ahmad:16939ʿAbdullāh b. Aḥmad > Ibrāhīm b. ʿAbdullāh b. Bashār al-Wāsiṭī > Muʾammal And ʾAbū Aḥmad or Aḥaduhumā > Sufyān > Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad from his father > Ibn ʿAbbāsʿan Muʿāwiyah

[Machine] It means "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ shortened his hair with a pair of scissors."
