[Machine] He said, "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in Mina or 'Arafat, and the Bedouins would come and when they saw his face, they would say: 'This is a blessed face.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me.' He said: 'O Allah, forgive us.' So, I turned around and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me.' He said: 'O Allah, forgive us.' Then he began to drool, so he wiped his mouth with his hand, then he wiped his sandal with it, because he disliked that it should touch anyone of those around him. Then he said: 'O people, what day is this? For indeed your blood and your wealth are sacred to you, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this country of yours. O Allah, have I conveyed the message?' Let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent.'" He commanded charity (sadaqah) and said: "Give charity, for I do not know if you will see me after this day of mine. He also distributed some (money) to the people of Yemen, so that they would not have to collect it. And one portion for the people of Iraq, or he said: 'for the people of the East.' A man asked him about Al-'Atirah, and he said: 'Whoever wants, may leave something behind, and whoever wants, may take it back. And whoever wants, may share it, and whoever wants, may not share it.' And he said: 'Its sacrifice should be from these fingers of his right hand,' and he poured them on his middle finger and index finger and he curled the tip a little."

[Machine] His grandmothers, Safiyyah and Duhaybah, told him that Qaylah bint Makhrimah used to say when she went to bed after darkness fell: "In the name of Allah, I place my side unto my Lord and seek His forgiveness for my sins." She would repeat this several times and then say: "I seek refuge with Allah and His complete words, which no righteous or wicked person can surpass, from the evil of what descends from the sky and ascends to it, the evil that descends upon the earth and the evil that emerges from it, the evil of the trials of the day and the evil of the visitors of the night, except for one who knocks with goodness. I believe in Allah and rely on Him. Praise be to Allah who has submitted everything to His power. Praise be to Allah who has humbled everything before His glory. Praise be to Allah who has humbled everything before His greatness. Praise be to Allah who has subjected everything to His sovereignty. O Allah, I ask You by Your lofty throne, the furthest limit of Your mercy, Your highest book, Your greatest name, and Your perfect words, which no righteous or wicked person can surpass, to look at us with a merciful glance that leaves no sin of ours unforgiven, no poverty unrelieved, no enemy unvanquished, no nakedness unrobed, no debt unpaid, and grant us every virtue in this world and in the Hereafter. I believe in Allah and rely on Him." Then she would say: "Glory be to Allah" thirty-three times, "Allah is the greatest" thirty-three times, and "Praise be to Allah" thirty-four times. Then she said: "O my daughter, this is the conclusion of the chapter. The daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him to serve him, and he said: 'Shall I not guide you to something better than a servant?' She said: 'Yes, please.' So he commanded her with these hundred words at the end of every night."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says three times in the morning: 'O Allah, to You belongs all praise, there is no god but You, You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I believe in You and sincerely adhere to Your religion. I am relying on Your promise and covenant as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my actions. I seek Your forgiveness for my sins, which no one else can forgive except You. If a person dies on that day, they will enter Paradise. And if a person says three times in the evening: 'O Allah, to You belongs all praise, there is no god but You, You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I seek Your forgiveness for my sins, which no one else can forgive except You. And if a person dies on that night, they will enter Paradise." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would swear an oath that no one other than him has ever said this three times in the morning and died on that day, except that they would enter Paradise. And no one has ever said it three times in the evening and died on that night, except that they would enter Paradise."

[Machine] About this verse, "When the victory of Allah and the conquest comes, and you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes" [Surah An-Nasr: 2], in what context was it revealed?

Some of them said, "Allah commanded His Prophet, ﷺ , that when he sees the people and their embracing of Islam and their firmness in the religion, he should praise and seek forgiveness from Allah." Umar said, "Are you not amazed by Ibn Abbas? O Ibn Abbas, why are you silent?" He said, "He taught me when it will occur." He said, "When the victory of Allah and the conquest comes, and you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes" [Surah An-Nasr: 1], then it is your sign of death." He said, "You spoke the truth, and by the One in whose hand is my soul, I have not learned from it except what you have mentioned."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us two sermons, the sermon of prayer and the sermon of necessity. As for the sermon of necessity, it begins with "Alhamdulillah, we seek His help and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of ourselves and from our bad deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can misguide him, and whoever He misguides, no one can guide him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger." Zuhair stood and narrated to us, Amr bin Ali informed us, Khalaf bin Tamim narrated to us from Zuhair, who narrated to us from Abu Ishaq, who narrated from Abu Al-Ahwas, who narrated from Abdullah, who said: "When one of you wants to give a sermon of necessity, let him begin by saying 'Alhamdulillah, we seek His help, similar to it' and 'He is One, with no partner.' Shu'bah contradicted them and reported from Abu Ishaq, who narrated from Abu Ubaidah, who narrated from Abdullah."

He said, "We will not stone you until you give birth." So a man from the Ansar took responsibility for her until she gave birth, and then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Prophet of Allah, she has given birth." The Prophet ﷺ said, "In that case, we will not stone her and we will leave her child, who is an infant, with no one to nurse him." [Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting with some of his companions, so I approached him from behind like this. He recognized my intention and took off his cloak from his back, and I saw the place of the ring on the back of his shoulder like a mole surrounded by horses. It is as if they were hills. So I came until I faced him and said to him, "May Allah forgive you, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "And to you." Some of the people said, "Do you ask forgiveness for him, O Messenger of Allah?" [Machine] Narrated Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , when the people of falsehood made their claims, and Allah cleared her of them. She said, "All of them narrated to me from her hadith, and some of them were more attentive to her hadith than others and were able to maintain it. And I have memorized every man's narration about her. Some of their narrations confirm each other, although some of them were more attentive than others. She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered and greeted, then he sat down and recited the tashahhud when he sat down. Then he said, 'O Aisha, such and such has reached me about you. If you are innocent, then Allah will declare you innocent, and if you have committed a sin, then seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him, for when a servant confesses to his sin and repents, Allah accepts his repentance.'" So I said to my father, "Should I answer the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding what he said?" He said, "By Allah, I do not know what to say to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." So I said to my mother, "Should I answer the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding what he said?" She said, "By Allah, I do not know what to say to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." So I said, "And I, a young girl, do not read the Quran much. By Allah, I certainly know, surely you have heard this narration until it has settled in your hearts and you have believed in it. So if I were to say to you that I am innocent, you would not believe me. But if I were to confess to you with something, and Allah knows that I am innocent, you would believe me. By Allah, I find no example for myself or for you except for the story of Yusuf (Joseph) when he said, 'Patience is beautiful and Allah is the one sought for help against what you describe' (Quran 12:18). By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not intend to leave his place until Allah revealed, 'Verily, those who brought forth the slander (against Aisha) are a group among you' (Quran 24:11), all ten verses of it, to sum it up."

[Machine] Indeed, the polytheists used to go around the Kaaba saying "Labbayka, labbayka, lā sharīka laka," and the Prophet ﷺ would respond "Qad qad." They would then say "il-la shariqun huwa laka tamlikuhu wa ma malak," and "ghufrānak, ghufrānak." Allah then revealed, "And Allah would not punish them while you are among them, nor will He punish them while they seek forgiveness" (Quran 8:33). Ibn Abbas said, "They had the protection of the Prophet ﷺ and seeking forgiveness." The Prophet ﷺ passed away, but seeking forgiveness remained. Allah also revealed, "And why should Allah not punish them while they avert people from al-Masjid al-Haram and they were not its guardians? Its protectors are none but the righteous, but most of them do not know" (Quran 8:34). This is the punishment of the Hereafter, while that (punishment in this life) is the punishment of the world.

[Machine] The Bedouin said to the Prophet ﷺ , "I see that you have made the people excluding me. Did you make up a turn for me?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Woe to you, do not ask this question." The Bedouin asked, "And how intense is your questioning?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Seek forgiveness from Allah and draw closer to Him, and delay what you have done." The Bedouin asked, "Do you know where this verse was revealed?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Do not ask about things that if they were revealed to you, they would sadden you." He continued reciting the rest of the verse, "O you who have believed, do not ask about things which, if they are shown to you, will distress you." The Prophet ﷺ then explained that there was a group of people who used to mock him when they would say, "Whose son am I?" and "Where is my camel?" So Allah revealed this verse in response to their mocking.

[Machine] That the grandfather is closer than the brothers, so our conversation continued until I gave him an example of some of his children's inheritance from each other, so he approached me angrily and said, "By Allah, if I had judged today between some of them in favor of some over others, I would have judged in favor of the grandfather and I would have thought that he deserved it, but perhaps they have rights, and perhaps I don't disappoint any of them, and I will surely decide between them if Allah wills it, according to what I see on that day." I considered it and sought forgiveness from Allah that this is the last conversation I had with Amir al-Mu'minin Umar about the matter of the grandfather and the brothers. Then I thought that he used to divide after them. Then Amir al-Mu'minin Uthman ibn Affan made a decision between the grandfather and the brothers similar to what I wrote to you in this document, and I thought that I understood that from what I witnessed of their judgments, and others added more to it than Ibn Abi al-Zinad and his father from Kharijah ibn Zaid from his father that when Umar ibn Al-Khattab consulted them about the inheritance of the grandfather and the brothers, Zaid said, and my opinion at that time was that the brothers are more entitled to their brother's inheritance than the grandfather, and Umar ibn Al-Khattab sees that the grandfather is more entitled to his grandson's inheritance than his brothers. Zaid said, so I gave Umar an example of that, and I said to him, "If a tree branched out from its root, and then a branch branched out from that branch, that branch connects the two branches without the root and nourishes them. Don't you see, O Amir al-Mu'minin, that one of the branches is closer to its brother than it is to the root?" Zaid said, I gave him an example of the root of the tree as an example of the grandfather, and I gave an example of the branch that branched out from the root as an example of the father, and I gave an example of the two branches that branched out from the branch as an example of the brothers.

Uthman also said, "I have not seen a sight except that the grave is scarier than it." Uthman reported that when the Prophet ﷺ finished burying the dead, he would say, "Seek forgiveness for your deceased and ask Allah to make him steadfast, for now he is being questioned." This narration was added by someone other than Hisham, and when Uthman stood by the grave of Hisham, he said, "Seek forgiveness and I rely on the statement of the Prophet ﷺ , 'I have not seen a sight like him.'"

[Machine] About the testimony of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Friday, Ibn Shihab said, "Verily, all praise is due to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Him from the evil within ourselves. Whoever Allah guides, no one can lead astray, and whoever is led astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. He sent him with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a Warner before the Hour. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has indeed been guided, and whoever turns away has only caused loss to himself. We ask Allah, our Lord, to make us among those who obey Him and His Messenger, to follow His pleasure, and to avoid His anger. Indeed, we are with Him and for Him." Ibn Shihab said, "We have also heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that whenever he delivered a sermon, everything that was promised was near and there was no delay to what was promised. Allah does not hasten anything for anyone, nor does He delay anything for the sake of people's desires. People may desire something, but Allah desires something else. Whatever Allah wills happens, and if people dislike it, it will not be averted, and if people desire it, it will not be achieved unless by the permission of Allah." Ibn Shihab also said, "Umar ibn Al-Khattab used to say in his sermons, 'Success is for those who are protected from desires, greed, and anger, and there is nothing better in terms of speech than truth. Whoever lies causes trouble, and whoever causes trouble destroys you. The ultimate ruin of a person is his transgression. He was created from dust and will return to dust. Today he is alive, but tomorrow he will be dead. Do deeds day by day, and beware of the supplication of the oppressed. Consider yourselves among the dead."
