[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said to me, "Wahshi." I said, "Yes." He said, "Did you kill Hamza?" I said, "Yes, and praise be to Allah who honored me with his hand and did not disgrace me with his hand." Quraysh said to him, "We love him while he is the killer of Hamza." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me." So he spat on the ground three times and wiped it on my chest, and he said, "O Wahshi, go out and fight in the cause of Allah as you fought to defend the cause of Allah."

[Machine] The Ansar said among themselves, "If we were to gather wealth for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he were to stretch out his hand, no one would come between him and it." So they went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we want to gather wealth for you." Then Allah revealed, "{Say, 'I do not ask of you for it any payment except for love of [my] relatives'}." So they left in disagreement. Some of them said, "Did you not see what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said?" And some of them said, "He only said this so that we fight for the sake of his family and support them." And then Allah revealed, "{Or do they say, 'He invented a lie about Allah'?} to His saying, '{And He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants}'." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered them the opportunity for repentance until His saying, "{And He responds to those who believe and do righteous deeds and increases [for] them from His bounty}." They were the ones who said, "You should repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness."

It was revealed about him, 'When the help of Allah comes and the victory, and you see people entering the religion of Allah in multitudes, then exalt [Him] with praise of your Lord and ask forgiveness of Him. [Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from the Battle of Khaybar, the revelation of the verse "When the help of Allah and the conquest comes" until the end of the story came to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Ali ibn Abi Talib, O Fatimah, the help of Allah and the conquest has come." "And you see the people entering the religion of Allah in groups, so exalt the praise of your Lord and ask His forgiveness. Indeed, He is ever accepting of repentance." He ﷺ also said that after him, the struggle of jihad will be among the believers. Ali asked, "How do we fight the believers who say 'We believe'?" He ﷺ said, "Based on their actions in religion, if they act upon their own opinions without consulting in religion. Indeed, religion is solely from Allah, His command and His prohibition." Ali asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what if a matter arises for which there is no verse revealed and no sunnah specified by you?" He ﷺ said, "You should hold a consultation among the righteous believers and not decide based on personal opinions. If I had appointed a successor, no one would be more deserving of it than you, for your early acceptance of Islam, your relationship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , your marriage to his daughter, and your possession of the leader of the women of the believers. And even before that, what I faced in terms of the hardships of Abu Talib, and the revelation of the Quran, I am eager to care for his children."

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when he returned from the Battle of Tabuk and performed Umrah, when he descended from the Thaniyyah of 'Usfan, he commanded his companions to rely on the rock until he returned to them. He went and stayed at the grave of his mother and supplicated to his Lord for a long time. Then, he started crying and his weeping intensified. These people also started crying due to his weeping and they said, "Messenger of Allah, why are you crying in this place, unless you have announced something to your Ummah that they cannot bear?" When these people cried, he rose and returned to them and said, "What makes you cry?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we cried because of your weeping. We thought that you had announced something to your Ummah that they cannot bear." He said, "No, and some of them have occurred, but I went to my mother's grave and supplicated to Allah to allow me to seek intercession for her on the Day of Resurrection. Allah refused to grant me permission, so I cried. Then, Gabriel, ﷺ , came to me and said, "Ibrahim's seeking forgiveness for his father was only because of a promise he made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he disowned him." So you have disowned your mother as Ibrahim disowned his father. I sought forgiveness for her and pleaded to my Lord to save my Ummah from four things, and He granted me two and refused to grant me the other two. I pleaded that my Ummah should not be afflicted by famine and drought, but He granted me only removal of famine and drought. I pleaded that my Ummah should not be defeated by their enemies, but He removed defeat and granted victory. I pleaded that my Ummah should not be afflicted by stoning from the sky and sinking of the earth, and He removed both. But He refused to remove two, the killing and internal strife among themselves." He returned to the grave of his mother and stayed there much longer than before.

Abdullah replied and stayed for as long as Allah willed, then he came and said, "By the One whom I swear by, O Abu Abdur Rahman, I have left them now in a house and that Quran is with them." He ordered Qarzah bin Ka'b to go with the people, and he said, "Bring them." When he brought them, Abdullah said, "What is this after the spreading of Islam?" They said, "O Abu Abdur Rahman, we seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him, and we testify that Musaylimah is the liar who fabricates lies against Allah and His Messenger." Abdullah then accepted their repentance and sent them to Ash-Sham (Greater Syria), and they were about eighty men. But Ibn An-Nawwahah refused to repent, so Qarzah bin Ka'b ordered him to be taken to the market place, and his neck was struck, and he was ordered to take his own head and throw it into his mother's room. Abdullah bin Abdullah said, "After that, I met an old man among them in Ash-Sham, and he said to me, 'May Allah have mercy upon your father. I swear by Allah, if we had killed that day, all of us would have entered the Fire.'

[Machine] Abu Bakr As-Siddiq received something from Umar, then he said, "Seek forgiveness for me, O my brother." This made Umar angry, and he said the same thing to him repeatedly, which made Umar even angrier. Abu Bakr mentioned this incident to the Prophet ﷺ, and they went to him and sat down. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Your brother asks you to seek forgiveness for him, so do not do so." Abu Bakr swore, "By the One who sent you with the truth as a Prophet, every time he asks me I seek forgiveness for him." Then he said, "There is no creation of Allah after you who is dearer to me than him." Abu Bakr said, "And by the One who sent you with the truth, there is no one after you dearer to me than him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not hurt me with regard to my companion. Verily, Allah has sent me with guidance and the true religion. You said, 'You have lied,' and Abu Bakr said, 'You have spoken the truth.' If Allah had not named him my companion, I would not have taken him as a close friend. [Machine] "Indeed, I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a bearer of glad tidings came to him with news of the victory that Allah had given to his army and the opening that Allah had granted them. He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, while we were pursuing the enemy who had already been defeated by Allah the Most High, I came across a man with a sword. When he realized that his sword was useless and he was being pursued, he started saying, "I am a Muslim, I am a Muslim." So the man asked, 'Did you kill him?' He replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, I sought refuge.' The Prophet asked, 'Could you not have dissected his heart to know if he was telling the truth or lying?' The man said, 'Had I dissected his heart, I wouldn't have known whether his heart was just a piece of flesh or not.' The Prophet said, 'You believed him without knowing what was in his heart or what he spoke. You have done right.' The man then said, 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me.' The Prophet replied, 'I will not seek forgiveness for you.' The man died and they buried him, but he appeared on the surface of the earth. This happened three times, and when they saw this, they felt ashamed and afraid of what they had encountered. So they picked him up and threw him into one of those valleys among those valleys."

He said, "Could you not have pierced his heart until it became clear to you?" He said, "Would you clarify it for me, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "He spoke to you with his tongue, but you did not believe what he said in his heart." The man died, so we buried him, and in the morning he was on the earth. We commanded our boys to guard him, and in the morning he was on the earth. We said, "They were negligent, so we guarded him," but in the morning he was still on the ground. In the third unit, recite Al-Fatiha and Al-Muhammad. In the fourth unit, recite Al-Fatiha and Al-Mufassal. O Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Possessor of greatness, honor, and glory that cannot be belittled, I ask You, O Allah, O Most Merciful, by Your greatness and the light of Your face, to make my heart committed to the love of Your book as You have taught me. [Machine] I was with the Prophet ﷺ when Harmlah bin Zaid came to him and sat in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Harmlah said, "O Messenger of Allah, faith is here," pointing with his hand towards his tongue, "and hypocrisy is here," pointing with his hand to his chest, "and Allah is not mentioned except a little." The Prophet ﷺ remained silent. Harmlah repeated the statement to him, and Harmlah fell silent. The Prophet ﷺ took hold of the tip of Harmlah's tongue and said, "O Allah, make his tongue truthful and his heart grateful, and provide him with love for me and love for those who love me, and make his affair good." Harmlah said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have hypocritical brothers. I used to be among them. Shall I not expose them to you?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "No, as long as they come to us as you came to us, we will seek forgiveness for them as we sought forgiveness for you. But whoever insists on his sin, Allah is more entitled to deal with him. And do not breach anyone's trust."

[Machine] Narrated Aisha: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to mention Khadijah and he did not feel tired of praising her and seeking forgiveness for her. So one day, I said to him: "Allah has replaced you with someone better than her." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry and then the Verses about Aisha were revealed. He approached her and said: "How did you say that? By Allah, she believed in me when the people disbelieved in me, and she testified to my truthfulness when the people accused me of lying, and she bore me children when the people prevented me from them." So he stayed away from me for a month.

[Machine] He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Stretch out your hand." The Prophet ﷺ said, "And if I command you to sever ties with your mother?" He said, "No." Then I returned to him and said, "Stretch out your hand, I pledge to you." He said, "Why?" I said, "For Islam." He said, "And if I command you to sever ties with your mother?" I said, "No." Then I returned to him a third time and he had a mother, and he was very kind to her. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "O Talhah, cutting off family ties is not part of our religion, but I wanted there to be no doubt in your religion." So he embraced Islam, and his Islam was good. Then he fell ill, and the Prophet ﷺ came to visit him and found him unconscious. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I think Talhah is unconscious due to what he did during the night. If he wakes up, send him to me." Talhah woke up in the middle of the night and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not come to me?" They said, "Yes." So they informed him of what had happened, and he said, "Do not send for him at this hour, as he may be attacked by an animal or something may happen to him. But when you wake up, convey my greetings of peace to him and tell him to seek forgiveness for me." Then he passed away. When the Prophet ﷺ prayed the morning prayer, he asked about him, and they informed him of his death and what he had said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hand and said, "O Allah, accept him while he is laughing at You and You are laughing at him."

I heard Abu Umamah saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “The martyr at sea is like two martyrs on land, and the one who suffers seasickness is like one who gets drenched in his own blood on land. The time spent between one wave and the next is like a lifetime spent in obedience to Allah. Allah has appointed the Angel of Death to seize souls, except for the martyr at sea, for Allah Himself seizes their souls. He forgives the martyrs on land for all sins except debt, but (He forgives) the martyr at sea all his sins and his debt.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2778)

He asked them, "Did you not pray with us?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we had already prayed in our camps, and we thought that we would not be able to catch the prayer." He said, "Do not do that when you have already prayed in your camps, and then if you catch the prayer, pray it, and it will be a voluntary prayer for you." One of them said, "Ask Allah to forgive me, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "O Allah, forgive him."

[Machine] Abdullah, indeed in the Book of Allah there are two signs: if a servant commits a sin and then recites them (the signs), Allah forgives him. And His saying: "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah?" And His saying: "And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful."

They asked him about these verses, but he did not inform them. Alqamah and Al-Aswad said to each other, "Let us go with him." So they went to the house, took the Mushaf (book), and started reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. They said, "We did not see them." Then they continued reciting until they reached the verse, "And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness from Allah, he will find Allah forgiving and merciful." They said, "This is one." Then they continued reciting Surah Al-Imran until they reached the verse, "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? And [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know." They said, "This is the other." Then they closed the book and went to Abdullah and asked, "Are these the two verses?" He replied, "Yes."

[Machine] He said, "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in Mina or 'Arafat, and the Bedouins would come and when they saw his face, they would say: 'This is a blessed face.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me.' He said: 'O Allah, forgive us.' So, I turned around and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me.' He said: 'O Allah, forgive us.' Then he began to drool, so he wiped his mouth with his hand, then he wiped his sandal with it, because he disliked that it should touch anyone of those around him. Then he said: 'O people, what day is this? For indeed your blood and your wealth are sacred to you, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this country of yours. O Allah, have I conveyed the message?' Let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent.'" He commanded charity (sadaqah) and said: "Give charity, for I do not know if you will see me after this day of mine. He also distributed some (money) to the people of Yemen, so that they would not have to collect it. And one portion for the people of Iraq, or he said: 'for the people of the East.' A man asked him about Al-'Atirah, and he said: 'Whoever wants, may leave something behind, and whoever wants, may take it back. And whoever wants, may share it, and whoever wants, may not share it.' And he said: 'Its sacrifice should be from these fingers of his right hand,' and he poured them on his middle finger and index finger and he curled the tip a little."
