22. Chapter of Qāf (Male)
[Machine] An elder sat with us in Ayyub's shop, wearing a woolen cloak. He overheard people talking, so he said, "Tell me, my master, about the Messenger of Allah." I said, "Name him for me." He said, "Qurrah ibn Da'mus al-Numayri." He said, "I came to the city, so I went to the Messenger of Allah with people. I wanted to get close to him, but I couldn't. So I called out to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for the young boy al-Numayri.' He said, 'May Allah forgive you.'"
[Machine] A sheikh sat with us in the shop of Ayoub, may he be blessed with a woolen cloak. He heard some people talking and said to me, "My lord told me about the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ." I said, "Name him." He said, "Qurrah bin Damoosah Al-Numairi." He said, "I came to Al-Madinah and visited the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and there were people with him. I tried to get closer to him, but I couldn't. So, I called out to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for the boy Al-Numairi.' He said, 'May Allah forgive you.'"
[Machine] A man from his people and others from the Arabs came to him and they said, "Indeed, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Muttalib has emerged calling to a religion other than our religion." So Qabath stood up until he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he entered upon him, the Messenger of Allah said to him, "Sit down, O Qabath." So Qabath inferred his intention and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "You are the one who said that if the women of Quraish appeared with their most precious belongings, they would have returned Muhammad and his companions." Qabath said, "By He who has sent you with the truth, my tongue did not move with it, nor did my lips murmur it, nor has anyone heard it from me. It was nothing but a whisper in my soul. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." He said, "And indeed, what you have brought is the truth."
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "The prayer of two individuals, one of them leading the other, is more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the prayer of four individuals following one another. And the prayer of four individuals, one of them leading the others, is more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the prayer of eight individuals following one another. And the prayer of eight individuals, one of them leading the others, is more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the prayer of one hundred individuals following one another."
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "The prayer of two men, where one of them leads the other, is more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the prayer of four men performed individually. And the prayer of four men, where one of them leads the others, is more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the prayer of eight men performed individually. And the prayer of eight men, where one of them leads the others, is more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the prayer of one hundred men performed individually." Ishaq ibn Rahawayh said, "Qabath (the narrator) has fully comprehended the words of the Prophet ﷺ ."
