[Machine] Qutham ibn al-Abbas was asked, "How did Ali inherit from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before you?" He said, "Indeed, he was the first among us to grasp knowledge and the most severe of us in thirst for it."  

قِيلَ لِقُثَمَ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ كَيْفَ وَرِثَ عَلِيٌّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دُونَكُمْ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ كَانَ أَوَّلَنَا بِهِ لُحُوقًا وَأَشَدَّنَا بِهِ لُزُوقًا»  

[Machine] 'Urwah narrated regarding the naming of those who witnessed the Aqabah pledge from the Ansar and then from the Banu Salimah, one of them being Ka'b bin Malik bin Abi al-Qayn bin Ka'b bin Sowwad.'
