He then took hold of the corner of the Kaaba with his staff, and there was no place for it in the mosque until it was taken out to the bottom of the valley, and then it was brought back. He praised and thanked Allah and said, 'After that, O people, indeed Allah has removed from you the burden of Jahiliyyah. O people, indeed mankind is divided into two: a righteous, pious, noble person in the eyes of his Lord, and a wicked, miserable person in the eyes of his Lord.' Then he recited, 'O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.' He recited the verse and then said, 'I say this and seek forgiveness from Allah for me and for you.'"

[Machine] My mother asked, "When did you promise the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" I said, "I didn't make any promise to him since such and such happened to me." So, my mother told me, "Then go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and pray with him, and seek forgiveness for you and me." So, I went to him and prayed with him the Maghrib prayer, and he ﷺ performed what was between the two prayers. Then, he left and I followed him. He asked me, "Who is this?" I said, "Hudhayfah bin Al-Yaman." He asked, "What brings you here?" So, I informed him of what my mother had told me. He ﷺ said, "May Allah forgive you and your mother."

ذِكْرُ دُعَاءِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ لِأَبِي مُوسَى بِمَغْفِرَةِ ذُنُوبِهِ

He (the Holy Prophet) sent me along with Abu 'Amir and Abu 'Amir received a wound in his knee from the arrow, (shot by) a person of Bani Jusham. It stuck in his knee. I went to him and said: Uncle, who shot an arrow upon you? Abu 'Amir pointed out to Abu Musa and said: Verily that one who shot an arrow upon me in fact killed me. Abu Musa said: I followed him with the determination to kill him and overtook him and when he saw me he turned upon his heels. I followed him and I said to him: Don't you feel ashamed (that you run), aren't you an Arab? Why don't you stop? He stopped and I had an encounter with him and we exchanged the strokes of (swords). I struck him with the sword and killed him. Then I came back to Abu Amir and said: Verily Allah has killed the one who killed you. And he said: Now draw out this arrow. I drew out the arrow and there came out from that (wound) water. Abu 'Amir said: My nephew, go to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and convey my greetings to him and tell him that Abu Amir begs you to ask forgiveness for him. And Abu Amir appointed me as the chief of the people and he died after a short time. When I came to Allah's Apostle ﷺ I visited him and he had been lying on the cot woven by strings and there was (no) bed over it and so there had been marks of the strings on the back of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and on his sides. I narrated to him what had happened to us and narrated to him about Abu Amir and said to him that he had made a request to the effect that forgiveness should be sought for him (from Allah). Thereupon Messenger of Allah (may peace be. upon him) called for water and performed ablution with it. He then lifted his hands and said. O Allah, grant pardon to Thy servant Abu Amir. (The Prophet had raised his hands so high for supplication) that I saw the whiteness of his armpits. He again said: O Allah, grant him distinction amongst the majority of Thine created beings or from amongst the people. I said: Messenger of Allah, ask forgiveness for me too. Thereupon Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: Allah, forgive the sins of Abdullah b. Qais (Abu Musa Ash'ari) and admit him to an elevated place on the Day of Resurrection. Abu Burda said: One prayer is for abu 'Amir and the other is tor Abu Musa. (Using translation from Muslim 2498)

[Machine] His father said to him, "O son, seek from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a shroud from his clothes to wrap me in, and ask him to pray on me." Abdullah said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have recognized the honor of Abdullah and he has commanded me to ask you for a shroud to wrap him in and to pray on him." So the Prophet ﷺ gave him a shroud from his clothes and intended to pray on him. Omar said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have recognized Abdullah and his hypocrisy, do you pray on him even though Allah has forbidden you from praying on him?" He said, "Where?" Omar said, "If you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them." So the Prophet ﷺ said, "Then I will increase it." Then Allah revealed, "And do not pray [the funeral prayer, O Muhammad], over any of them who has died - ever. Or stand at his grave." And Allah revealed, "Whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them, even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times - never will Allah forgive them." A man entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he stayed for a long time, but the Prophet ﷺ did not follow him. Then Umar entered and saw the man and recognized the dislike in the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ towards him in his position, so he said, "Perhaps you have upset the Prophet ﷺ ." The man understood and stood up. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I have stood three times for you to follow me, but you did not." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you had a veil, for your wives are not like other women, and it is purity for their hearts." So Allah revealed, "O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for Umar and informed him of that. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ consulted Abu Bakr and Umar about the prisoners, and Abu Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allah, your people feel ashamed, so take ransom from them and seek their help." And Umar ibn Al-Khattab said, "Kill them." So the Prophet ﷺ took the opinion of Abu Bakr, and Allah revealed, "It is not for a prophet to have captives of war until he inflicts a massacre upon the earth. You desire the commodities of this world, but Allah desires the Hereafter." Then Allah revealed, "And We have certainly created man from a sperm-drop of sperm." Until the end of the verses. Umar said, "Blessed is Allah, the best of creators." So Allah revealed, "So blessed is Allah, the best of creators."

[Machine] A man came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a grave sin." The Prophet responded, "What have you done?! May Allah have mercy on you!" The man said, "I had sexual intercourse with my wife during Ramadan." The Prophet advised him, "Free a slave, but if you cannot find one, then fast for two consecutive months." The man replied, "I am not capable of doing so." The Prophet then instructed him, "Feed sixty poor people." The man said, "I cannot find them." At that moment, someone brought a container filled with dates to the Prophet and he said, "Take it and give it in charity." The man then said, "O Messenger of Allah, is there anyone in greater need than my family? By the One in whose hand is my soul, there is no one between the two mountain slopes of Madinah more in need than me." The Prophet smiled until his teeth became visible and he said, "Take it and seek forgiveness from Allah, your Lord." Amr ibn Shu'ayb reported that they brought a large container holding fifteen measures [of dates] to the Prophet. Al-Isma'ili did not mention anyone among them except Amr ibn Shu'ayb ibn al-Mubarak. Al-Haql said, "Someone brought five measures [of dates] in a container." Duhaym said, "Woe to you! What is the matter?" The man replied, "I had sexual intercourse with my wife during a day in Ramadan." The man then brought to the Prophet a container filled with fifteen measures [of dates]. The sheikh [narrator] stopped here.

[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and confessed that he had committed adultery during the month of Ramadan. The Prophet ﷺ advised him to free a slave but he replied that he couldn't afford it. Then the Prophet ﷺ suggested fasting for two consecutive months, but he insisted that he couldn't do it. The Prophet ﷺ then advised him to feed sixty poor people, but he replied that he couldn't find them. Finally, someone brought a container with fifteen measures of dates to the Prophet ﷺ and he instructed the man to distribute it as charity. The man, however, insisted that he and his family were in greater need of it. The Prophet ﷺ then told him that he and his family were the ones in need and instructed him to observe fasting for one day instead, and seek forgiveness from Allah, repeating this process as necessary.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her, "Where is the one who teaches her the book of her Lord and the tradition of her Prophet?" She asked, "And who is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Zaid bin Haritha." Hamna became extremely angry and said, "O Messenger of Allah, will you marry your cousin's slave?!" She came back and informed me, and I became angrier than she was, and said something even more severe. So Allah revealed the verse, "It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair." She sent a message to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Indeed, I seek forgiveness from Allah and I obey Allah and His Messenger; do as you please." So he married me to Zaid, and I used to disparage him. I complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he admonished me. Then I took hold of his tongue and complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Keep your husband and fear Allah." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I want to divorce her." So he divorced me. When my waiting period was over, the only person I informed was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He visited me at my house while I was uncovered and I said, "This is a matter from the heavens." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, without a proposal or witnesses?" He replied, "Allah is the matchmaker, and Gabriel is the witness."

The word of usury has spread among the people of the East and the West until Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri entered and said, 'O Ibn Abbas, have you engaged in usury and benefited from it?' Ibn Abbas replied, 'Did I do that?' Abu Sa'id said, 'Yes, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Gold for gold, equal for equal, weight for weight, and silver for silver, equal for equal, weight for weight. Whoever gives more or takes more has engaged in usury."' This continued until the following year, when Ibn Abbas came and I accompanied him. He praised and thanked Allah, and then said, 'O people, I spoke with a word based on my own opinion last year, and I seek Allah's forgiveness for it and repent to Him. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Gold for gold, equal for equal, weight for weight. Whoever gives more or takes more has engaged in usury."' He repeated these six types of transactions to them."

Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "When it is a Friday, the angels stand at the gate of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the mosque in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow and then a ram and then a chicken and then an egg respectively. [Machine] A man came to Umar and said, "Indeed, I came to you from a man who recites the Quran by heart." Umar became frightened and said, "Woe to you, see what you are saying!" He became angry and said, "I did not come to you except with the truth." Umar asked, "Who is that man?" He replied, "Abdullah ibn Masud." Umar said, "I don't know anyone more deserving of that than him. I will tell you about Abdullah. One night, we stayed in a house near Abu Bakr, during a need of the Prophet ﷺ. Then we went out and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked between me and Abu Bakr. When I reached the mosque, I saw a man reciting, so the Prophet ﷺ stood and listened to him. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, have you approved me?' He gestured to me with his hand to be quiet. Then he recited, performed the bow, prostrated, and sat making supplications and seeking forgiveness. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Ask, and you shall be given.' Then he said, 'Whoever wishes to recite the Quran moist as it was revealed, let him recite the recitation of Ibn Um Abd.' My companion and I realized that it was Abdullah. So, when morning came, I went to him to give him the good news. He said, 'Abu Bakr beat you to it, and I have not preceded anyone to any goodness except that he has preceded me to it.'"
