The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whenever anyone of you makes water he should not hold his penis or clean his private parts with his right hand. (And while drinking) one should not breathe in the drinking utensil ."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلاَ يَأْخُذَنَّ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَلاَ يَسْتَنْجِي بِيَمِينِهِ وَلاَ يَتَنَفَّسْ فِي الإِنَاءِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims) will keep on following Allah's teachings strictly and they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is established." سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»

Abdullah ibn AbuBakr reported that he heard Urwah say: I entered upon Marwan ibn al-Hakam. We mentioned things that render the ablution void. Marwan said: Does it become void by touching the penis? Urwah replied: This I do not know. Marwan said: Busrah daughter of Safwan reported to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who touches his penis should perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 181)

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَتَوَضَّأُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ»

[AI] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "When one of you urinates, do not touch his private parts with his right hand, nor cleanse himself with his right hand, nor breathe into the vessel."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَمَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَنْجِي بِيَمِينِهِ وَلَا يَتَنَفَّسْ فِي الْإِنَاءِ»

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ said: 'When one of you swears an oath, then mention it.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا حَلَفَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَذَكَرَهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When the prayer is established, so he mentioned it."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَذَكَرَهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When one of you completes his prayer, then let him mention its meaning."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ صَلَاتَهُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The example of my Ummah (nation) is like a palm tree and its mention."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَثَلُ أُمَّتِي فَذَكَرَهُ

When anyone wipes himself with pebbles (after answering the call of nature) he should do this odd number of times. (Using translation from Muslim 239)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُوتِرْ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4492)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When one of you finishes a task, he should praise Allah for it."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ فَذَكَرَهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "When one of you shrouds his brother, then let him shroud him nicely, if he is able to."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ إِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ

[AI] He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'When one of you performs Istinja (cleansing after using the toilet), he should wipe himself three times.'"

أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا تَغَوَّطَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَمْسَحْ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever abandons a Dinar is sinning."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَرَكَ دِينَارًافَهُوَ كَيَّةٌ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The fever is due to the intense heat of the Hell, so cool it with water. (Using translation from Muslim 2212a)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْحُمَّى فَوْرٌ من فَوْرِ جَهَنَّمَ فَابْرُدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, the one who is stingy is in the fire (of Hell)."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ صَاحِبَ الْمَكْسِ فِي النَّارِ

Fever is from the vehement raging of the Hell-fire, so cool it with water. (Using translation from Muslim 2210a)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَوْرِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ

[AI] I entered the mosque in Damascus and saw people gathered and a sheikh speaking to them. I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "He is Sahl ibn al-Hanzaliyyah." I heard him saying, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever eats meat, let him perform ablution.'"

دَخَلْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَرَأَيْتُ أُنَاسًا مُجْتَمِعِينَ وَشَيْخًا يُحَدِّثُهُمْ قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا سَهْلُ ابْنُ الْحَنْظَلِيَّةِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَكَلَ لَحْمًا فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The giving hand is better than the receiving hand."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْيَدُ الْمُعْطِيَةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters. (Using translation from Muslim 2556c)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wakes up, let him rinse his mouth three times."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَنْتُرْ ذَكَرَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4492)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فَذَكَرَهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The Khawarij are the dogs of the Hellfire."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْخَوَارِجُ هُمْ كِلَابُ النَّارِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If one of you greets (sends blessings upon) someone three times and does not receive a response, then let him return."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَلَّمَ أَحَدُكُمْ ثَلَاثًا فَلَمْ يُجَبْ فَلْيَرْجِعْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Every intoxicant is prohibited."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ۔»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Modesty is all good." Then he mentioned the hadith.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 171)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 171)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever touches his sexual organ then let him perform ablution." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 481)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Some of the Muslims give shelter to others."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يُجِيرُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ

دَخَلْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَرَأَيْتُ نَاسًا مُجْتَمِعِينَ وَشَيْخٌ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا هَذَا سَهْلُ ابْنُ الْحَنْظَلِيَّةِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَكَلَ لَحْمًا فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] "He (the narrator) heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'When one of you wakes up, he should not touch his private part with his right hand, nor should he clean himself after using the bathroom with his right hand, and he should not breathe into the container.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَمَسُّ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَنْجِي بِيَمِينِهِ وَلَا يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever sits in the mosque waiting for the prayer, then he is considered in prayer."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ جَلَسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ

[AI] "He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he mentioned it."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَهُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say; 'It is not righteousness to fast when traveling."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2255)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ مِنَ امْ بِرِّ امْ صِيَامُ فِي امْ سَفَرِ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4492)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying something similar to that.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلَا يُصَلِّ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The morning prayer at its prescribed time expiates for sins committed between it and the previous evening prayer."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «وَصَبُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَفَّارَةٌ لِخَطَايَاهُ»

[AI] We were with Abu Hurairah when Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib came to us and greeted us with peace. We returned the greeting, but Abu Hurairah did not notice him. So we said to him, "O Abu Hurairah, Hasan ibn Ali greeted us with peace." He followed him and said, "And peace be upon you, my master." Then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'He is a master.'"

كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَجَاءَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَلَيْنَا فَسَلَّمَ فَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ وَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِهِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ هَذَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَدْ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا فَلَحِقَهُ وَقَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ يَا سَيِّدِي ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ سَيِّدٌ»

[AI] "I have not touched my private part with my right hand since I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

«مَا مَسِسْتُ فَرْجِي بِيَمِينِي مُنْذُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

[AI] The translation of the given Arabic sentence into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A believer is forgiven.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ مُكَفَّرٌ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever touches his private part, let him perform Wudu'.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 444)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيُعِدِ الْوُضُوءَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever touches his private parts should perform ablution (wudu) for prayer."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'If anyone of you has intercourse with his wife, then he wants to do it again, let him perform ablution.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 587)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَرْأَةَ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَعُودَ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited a man from touching his private part with his right hand."

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَمَسَّ الرَّجُلُ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ»

[AI] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "When any one of you wakes up from sleep, let him not touch his private parts with his right hand, nor clean himself with his right hand."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَمْسَحْ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَنْجِي بِيَمِينِهِ»

“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘The (funeral) prayer should be offered for a child.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1507)

أَنَّهُ قَالَ «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُهُ»

"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'Whoever fights to protect his wealth and is killed, he is a martyr.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4084)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If one of you seeks permission three times and is not granted it, then he should return."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَ أَحَدُكُمْ ثَلَاثًا وَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ فَلْيَرْجِعْ»
