Is there any incantator amongst you, at the chief of the tribe has bgen stung by a scorpion? A person amongst us said: 'Yes. So he came to him and he practised incan- tation with the help of Sura al-Fatiha and the person became all right. He was given a flock of sheep (as recompense), but he refused to accept that, saying: I shall make a mention of it to Allah's Apostle ﷺ, and if he approves of it. then I shall accept it. So we came to Allah's Apostle ﷺ and made a mention of that to him and he (that person) said: Messenger of Allah by Allah, I did not practice incantation but with the help of Sura al-Fatiha of the Holy Book. He (the Holy Prophet) smiled and said: How did you come to know that it can be used (as incactation)? - and then said: Take out of that and allocate a share for me along with your share. We used to estimate how long the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in the noon and the afternoon prayer, and we estimated that he stood in the first two rak’ahs of the noon prayer as long as it takes to recite thirty verses (of the Qur’an), such as A-L-M Tanzil al-Sajdah. And we estimated that he stood in the last two rak’ahs half the time he stood in the first two rak’ahs. We estimated that he stood in the first two rak’ahs of the afternoon prayer as long as he did in the last two at noon; and we estimated that he stood in the last two rak’ahs of the afternoon prayer half the time he did in first two. [Machine] Ma'iz ibn Malik came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him that he had committed a grave sin. He repeated his confession several times. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that he be stoned to death. We then went and stoned him. We went to the haram (sacred area) and stoned him again. Then we returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about it. In the evening, he stood up and praised Allah and supplicated to Him. Then he said, "Why is it that people have fallen upon my companion with false accusations?"

[Machine] A man from the Ansar had a need, so his family said to him, "Go to the Prophet ﷺ and ask him." So he went to him while he was delivering a sermon and he was saying, "Whoever seeks Allah's help, Allah will help him. Whoever seeks independence from others, Allah will make him self-sufficient. Whoever asks from us, we will give to him." The man then left without asking.

أحمد:١٠٩٨٩حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ

The Prophet ﷺ was asked which of the creatures a pilgrim in sacred state could kill. He replied: The snake, the scorpion, the rat; he should drive away the pied crow, but should not kill it; the biting dog, the kite, and any wild animal which attacks (man). [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not inform you of what wipes away sins and increases good deeds in the sight of Allah?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Performing ablution thoroughly even in dislikeable conditions, and frequently visiting the mosques, and waiting for prayer after prayer. No one amongst you performs ablution in his house cleansing himself and then offers prayer along with the Muslims, but that his sins are forgiven and his prayers are accepted. Then he sits in his place of worship waiting for the next prayer. Verily, the angels invoke Allah's forgiveness and mercy upon him. When you stand up for prayer, then straighten your rows and make them close to one another, and let no gap be left empty. I see you from behind my back (while leading the prayer). When the Imam says, 'Allahu Akbar,' say, 'Allahu Akbar,' and when he bows, then bow, and when he says, 'Sami'Allahu liman hamidah,' say, 'Rabbana walakal-hamd.' The best rows for men are the first rows, and the worst ones are the last ones. The best rows for women are the last rows, and the worst ones are the first ones. O women, do not raise your heads from prostration before the men do."

[Machine] I witnessed a funeral procession with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said, "O people, this ummah (nation) is tested in their graves. When a person is buried and his companions depart from him, an angel comes to him with a mace in his hand. He sits him down and asks, 'What do you say about this man?' If he is a believer, he says, 'I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.' The angel says, 'You have spoken the truth.' Then a door to the Hellfire is opened for him and it is said, 'This would have been your place if you had disbelieved in your Lord. But as you have believed, this is your place.' Then a door to Paradise is opened for him and he intends to rise towards it. However, he is told to reside and his grave is made spacious for him. If the person was a disbeliever or a hypocrite, the angel asks him, 'What do you say about this man?' He replies, 'I do not know. I heard the people saying something, so I said it. I did not understand nor read nor have any guidance.' Then a door to Paradise is opened for him and it is said, 'This would have been your place if you had believed in your Lord.' But as you have disbelieved, Allah has replaced it with this.' Then a door to the Hellfire is opened for him and he is struck with a blow from the mace that is heard by all of Allah's creation except the two weighty things (the Jinn and humans). Some people asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , 'O Messenger of Allah, no one is struck with a mace except for him?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah strengthens those who have believed with the firm word in worldly life and the Hereafter.'" [Ibrahim 14:27]

'Umamah then doubted the integrity of 'Umarah, so he investigated and found that some of his companions, the Ansar, and others had received from it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Are you not pleased with me, while I am trustworthy and those in the heavens bring news to me morning and evening?" Then, a man with deep-set eyes, prominent cheeks, towering forehead, thick beard, untied garment, and shaved head came to him and said, "Fear Allah, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head to him and said, "Woe to you! Shouldn't I be the most deserving of the people of the earth to fear Allah?" Then, the man turned away, and Khalid said, "O Messenger of Allah, should I strike his neck?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perhaps he is praying." Khalid said, "But he is a hypocrite who utters with his tongue what is not in his heart." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have not been commanded to pierce the hearts of people or slit open their bellies." Then, the Prophet ﷺ looked at him while he was leaving and said, "Indeed, a group will emerge from this man's descendants who recite the Qur'an but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass through religion just as an arrow passes through its target."
