[Machine] The Quraysh asked the Prophet ﷺ to pray for them that Safa be turned into gold and they would believe in him. He asked them, "Are you sure?" They replied, "Yes." So he prayed, and Jibril (AS) came to him and said, "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, sends His greetings upon you and says, 'If you wish, I can turn Safa into gold. But whoever disbelieves after that, I will punish them with a punishment that I do not inflict upon anyone in the worlds. And if you wish, I can open the gate of repentance and mercy for them.'" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Rather, it is the gate of repentance and mercy."  

قُرَيْشٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ ادْعُ لَنَا أَنْ يَجْعَلَ لَنَا الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ قَالَ «أَتَفْعَلُونَ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَدَعَا فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ وَيَقُولُ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَصْبَحَ الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا فَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَذَّبْتُهُ عَذَابًا لَا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَدًا مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَحْتُ لَهُمْ بَابَ التَّوْبَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ قَالَ «بَلْ بَابُ التَّوْبَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) saying, "Indeed, one of the blessings of a person is to have a long life and for Allah to grant them repentance."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ مِنْ سَعَادَةِ الْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَطُولَ عُمْرُهُ وَيَرْزُقَهُ اللَّهُ الْإِنَابَةَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says, 'I am as My servant thinks of Me, so let him think of Me as he wishes.'"  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي فَلْيَظُنَّ بِي مَا شَاءَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, having good thoughts about Allah, the Almighty, is a form of worship of Allah."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ حُسْنَ الظَّنِّ بِاللَّهِ تَعَالَى مِنْ عِبَادَةِ اللَّهِ»  

[Machine] He said, "A good deed is rewarded ten times or even more, while a bad deed is only one, and I can forgive it. Even if you meet me with the sins that fill the earth, as long as you do not associate partners with me, I will meet you with forgiveness equal to it."  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ «الْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا أَوْ أَزِيدُ وَالسَّيِّئَةُ وَاحِدَةٌ أَوْ أَغْفِرُهَا وَلَوْ لَقِيتَنِي بِقُرَابِ الْأَرْضِ خَطَايَا مَا لَمْ تُشْرِكٍ بِي لَقِيتُكَ بِقُرَابِهَا مَغْفِرَةً»  

[Machine] On the authority of Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, who said: "O my servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness from Me and I shall forgive you. O my servants, you will not attain harm to Me, so harm Me not. O my servants, you are all hungry except those whom I feed, so seek food from Me and I shall feed you. O my servants, you are all naked except those whom I clothe, so seek clothing from Me and I shall clothe you. O my servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness from Me and I shall forgive you. O my servants, if the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you, were to rise up in one place and make a request of Me, and were I to give everyone what he requested, that would not cause any loss to Me greater than that which is caused by the dipping of a needle into the sea. O my servants, it is but your deeds that I account for you, and then recompense you for. So let him who finds good praise Allāh, and let him who finds other than that blame no one except himself."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَّهُ قَالَ «يَا عِبَادِي إِنَّكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُخْطِئُونَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَأَنَا الَّذِي أَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ وَلَا أُبَالِي فَاسْتَغْفِرُونِي أَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ يَا عِبَادِي كُلُّكُمْ جَائِعٌ إِلَّا مَنْ أَطْعَمْتُ فَاسْتَطْعِمُوا فِيَّ أُطْعِمْكُمْ يَا عِبَادِي كُلُّكُمْ عَارٍ إِلَّا مَنْ كَسَوْتُ فَاسْتَكْسُونِي أَكْسُكُمْ يَا عِبَادِي لَوْ أَنَّ أَوَّلَكُمْ وَآخِرَكُمْ وَإِنْسَكُمْ وَجِنَّكُمْ كَانُوا عَلَى أَتْقَى قَلْبِ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ لَمْ يَزِدْ ذَلِكَ فِي مُلْكِي شَيْئًا يَا عِبَادِي لَوْ أَنَّ أَوَّلَكُمْ وَآخِرَكُمْ وَإِنْسَكُمْ وَجِنَّكُمْ كَانُوا عَلَى أَفْجَرِ قَلْبِ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ لَمْ يُنْقِصْ ذَلِكَ مِنْ مُلْكِي شَيْئًا يَا عِبَادِي لَوْ أَنَّ أَوَّلَكُمْ وَآخِرَكُمْ وَإِنْسَكُمْ وَجِنَّكُمُ اجْتَمَعُوا فِي صَعِيدٍ وَاحِدٍ فَسَأَلُونِي وَأَعْطَيْتُ كُلَّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ مَا سَأَلَ لَمْ يُنْقِصْ ذَلِكَ مِنْ مُلْكِي شَيْئًا إِلَّا كَمَا يَنْقُصُ الْبَحْرُ إِنْ يُغْمَسْ فِيهِ الْمِخْيَطُ غَمْسَةً وَاحِدَةً يَا عِبَادِي إِنَّمَا هِيَ أَعْمَالُكُمْ أَحْفَظُهَا عَلَيْكُمْ فَمَنْ وَجَدَ خَيْرًا فَلْيَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى وَمَنْ وَجَدَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ»  

[Machine] Abu Dharr al-Ghifari urinated while standing up, and his urine splashed onto his legs and feet. A man said to him, "The urine has touched your legs and feet." He did not respond to him until he arrived at the home of a group of people. They offered him water for purification, so he performed ablution and washed his legs and feet. Then he approached the man and asked, "What did you say?" The man replied, "By now, you have already done it." Abu Dharr said, "This is the cure and the remedy for sins, to seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty."  

أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ الْغِفَارِيَّ بَالَ قَائِمًا فَانْتَضَحَ مِنْ بَوْلِهِ عَلَى سَاقَيْهِ وَقَدَمَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ إِنَّهُ أَصَابَ مِنْ بَوْلِكَ قَدَمَيْكَ وَسَاقَيْكَ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى دَارِ قَوْمٍ فَاسْتَوْهَبَهُمْ طَهُورًا فَأَخْرَجُوا إِلَيْهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَغَسَلَ سَاقَيْهِ وَقَدَمَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ فَقَالَ مَاذَا قُلْتَ؟ فَقَالَ أَمَّا الْآنَ فَقَدْ فَعَلْتَ فَقَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ «هَذَا دَوَاءُ هَذَا وَدَوَاءُ الذُّنُوبِ أَنْ تَسْتَغْفِرَ اللَّهَ ﷻ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If a person commits a sin and then says, 'O Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive me,' his Lord says, 'My servant knows that he has a Lord who forgives sins and holds people accountable for them.' Then Allah forgives him. The servant remains as he pleases with the permission of Allah. Then he commits another sin and says, 'O Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive me.' His Lord says, 'My servant knows that he has a Lord who forgives sins and holds people accountable for them. I have forgiven my servant. Let him do as he pleases.' Then he commits another sin and says, 'O Lord, forgive my sin.' Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says, 'My servant committed a sin knowing that he has a Lord who forgives sins and holds people accountable for them. Do as you please, for I have forgiven you.'"  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ عَبْدًا أَصَابَ ذَنْبًا فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ أَذْنَبْتُ ذَنْبًا فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَقَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ عَلِمَ عَبْدِي أَنَّ لَهُ رَبًّا يَغْفِرُ الذَّنْبَ وَيَأْخُذُ بِهِ فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا آخَرَ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ أَذْنَبْتُ ذَنْبًا فَاغْفِرْهُ لِي فَقَالَ رَبُّهُ ﷻ عَلِمَ عَبْدِي أَنَّ لَهُ رَبًّا يَغْفِرُ الذَّنْبَ وَيَأْخُذُ بِهِ قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لِعَبْدِي فَلْيَعْمَلْ مَا شَاءَ ثُمَّ عَادَ فَأَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا فَقَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي فَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَذْنَبَ عَبْدِي ذَنْبًا فَعَلِمَ أَنَّ لَهُ رَبًّا يَغْفِرُ الذَّنْبَ وَيَأْخُذُ بِالذَّنْبِ اعْمَلْ مَا شِئْتَ قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَكَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever commits a sin and knows that he has a Lord, if He wills, to forgive him, He will forgive him. And if He wills, to punish him, it is the right of Allah to forgive him."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا فَعَلِمَ أَنَّ لَهُ رَبًّا إِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَغْفِرَهُ لَهُ غَفَرَهُ لَهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ عَذَّبَهُ كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ لَهُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man does not travel in a desolate land and then rests under a tree with all his provisions and food on his mount, and then when he wakes up, he finds that his mount has slipped away. So he climbs a hill and does not see anything, then he climbs another hill and does not see anything. Then he turns around and suddenly sees his mount coming towards him, dragging its reins. There is nothing that can make him happier than the happiness of Allah when His servant repents to Him."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا يُسَافَرُ رَجُلٌ فِي أَرْضٍ تَنُوفَةٍ فَقَالَ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ وَمَعَهُ رَاحِلَتُهُ عَلَيْهَا زَادُهُ وَطَعَامُهُ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَقَدْ أَفْلَتَتْ رَاحِلَتُهُ فَعَلَا شَرَفًا فَلَمْ يَرَ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ عَلَا شَرَفًا فَلَمْ يَرَ شَيْئًا فَالْتَفَتَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِهَا تَجُرُّ خِطَامَهَا فَمَا هُوَ بِأَشَدَّ فَرَحًا بِهَا مِنَ اللَّهِ بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ إِذَا تَابَ إِلَيْهِ»  

What is your opinion about the delight of a person whose camel loaded with the provisions of food and drink is lost and that moves about with its nosestring trailing upon the waterless desert in which there is neither food nor drink, and lie wanders about in search of that until he is completely exhausted and then accidentally it happens to pass by the trunk of a tree and its nosestring gets entangled in that and he finds it entangled therein? He (in response to the question of the Holy Prophet) said: Messenger of Allah, he would feel highly delighted. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. By Allah, Allah is more delighted at the repentance of His servant than that person (as he finds his lost) camel. (Using translation from Muslim 2746)   

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كَيْفَ تَقُولُونَ بِفَرَحِ رَجُلٍ انْفَلَتَ رَاحِلَتُهُ تَجُرُّ زِمَامَهَا بِأَرْضٍ قَفْرٍ لَيْسَ بِهَا طَعَامٌ وَلَا شَرَابٌ وَعَلَيْهَا لَهُ طَعَامٌ وَشَرَابٌ فَطَلَبَهَا حَتَّى شَقَّ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ مَرَّتْ بِحَوْلِ شَجَرَةٍ فَتَعَلَّقَ زِمَامُهَا فَوَجَدَهَا مُعَلَّقَةً بِهِ؟» قُلْنَا شَدِيدٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «أَمَا وَاللَّهِ اللَّهُ أَشَدُّ فَرَحًا بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ بِرَاحِلَتِهِ» على شرط مسلم  

[Machine] Did you hear the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Regret is repentance?" He replied, "Yes, I heard him say, 'Regret is repentance.'" (Sahih - authentic)  

أَسَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةُ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ أَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ» صحيح  

[Machine] He is hesitant to narrate a Hadith while I am sitting, Ziyad, narrating it from Abdullah ibn Mughaffal, who said, "I entered with my father to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, and my father said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Regret is repentance."' Ibn Mas'ud said, 'Yes, I also heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Regret is repentance."'"  

يَسْتَحِي أَنْ يُحَدِّثَ بِحَدِيثٍ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ زِيَادٌ يَقُولُهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ أَبِي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ» قَالَ نَعَمْ أَنَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ»  

[Machine] Abu al-Nadhr al-Faqih and Abu al-Hasan al-Anzi narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Darimi narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Salih al-Sahmi narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us from Yahya ibn Ayyub from Humaid al-Tawil who said, I said to Anas ibn Malik, "Did you hear the Prophet ﷺ say, 'Regret is repentance'?" He said, "Yes.".  

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ الْفَقِيهُ وَأَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْعَنَزِيُّ قَالَا ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ السَّهْمِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَسَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ» قَالَ نَعَمْ «وَ  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, stood up after stoning the pillars, then he said: "Avoid this filth that Allah has forbidden. Whoever has done it, let him hide under the cover of Allah and repent to Allah, for whoever changes his way, Allah will inflict the punishment of the Book of Allah, mighty and exalted, upon him."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَجَمَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ فَقَالَ «اجْتَنِبُوا هَذِهِ الْقَاذُورَةَ الَّتِي نَهَى اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَمَنْ أَلَمَّ فَلْيَسْتَتِرْ بِسِتْرِ اللَّهِ وَلْيُتُبْ إِلَى اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ يُبْدِلْنَا صَفْحَتَهُ نُقِمْ عَلَيْهِ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ ﷻ»  

that Muʿādh b. Jabal planned to go on a journey, so he said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, ˹please˺ give me some advice." He said, "Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him." Muʿādh said, "O Messenger of Allah, ˹please give me more advice.˺" He said, "When you have done something bad, then ˹follow it up with˺ doing good." Muʿādh said, "O Messenger of Allah, ˹please give me more advice.˺." The Prophet said, "Be steadfast ˹in these˺ and improve your character."  

أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ أَرَادَ سَفَرًا فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَوْصِنِي۔ قَالَ: «اعْبُدِ اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكْ بِهِ شَيْئًا» قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، زِدْنِي۔ قَالَ: «إِذَا أَسَأْتَ فَأَحْسِنْ» قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، زِدْنِي۔ قَالَ: «اسْتَقِمْ وَلْتُحَسِّنْ خُلُقَكَ»  

“Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4251)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ بَنِي آدَمَ خَطَّاءٌ وَخَيْرُ الْخَطَّائِينَ التَّوَّابُونَ»  

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Every descendant of Adam comes on the Day of Resurrection with sins, except for what is from the lineage of Yahya ibn Zakariya." Prophet Muhammad ﷺ then pointed with his hand towards the ground and took a small stick, saying, "And that is because he had no belongings for men except for this stick, so Allah named him a master, a retreat, and a prophet among the righteous."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَهُ ذَنْبٌ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا» قَالَ ثُمَّ دَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَ عُودًا صَغِيرًا ثُمَّ قَالَ «وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَا لِلرِّجَالِ إِلَّا مِثْلُ هَذَا الْعُودِ وَبِذَلِكَ سَمَّاهُ اللَّهُ سَيِّدَا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "I never desired anything that the people of ignorance desired except on two occasions, and Allah, the Exalted, protected me from both of them. One night, a young man from the Quraysh tribe and I were pasturing sheep on the highest point of Makkah. I asked him to watch over my flock until I darken my skin with the sun for this night in Makkah, just like young boys darken. He agreed, so I left. When I reached a house near the outskirts of Makkah, I heard singing, the sound of tambourines and flutes. I asked, "What is this?" They said, "Fulana married Fulan, a man from the Quraysh, and they hired musicians for their wedding." I became entranced by the singing and the music until my eyes became heavy with sleep, and I slept. The sun woke me up, so I returned. Again, I heard the same thing. Someone said to me what I heard before, and I became entranced by it again until my eyes became heavy with sleep, and I slept. The sun woke me up again, and I returned to my companion. He asked me, "What did you do?" I replied, "I did not do anything." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'By Allah, I never desired evil after that incident. Allah honored me with Prophethood.'"  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا هَمَمْتُ بِمَا كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَهُمُّونَ بِهِ إِلَّا مَرَّتَيْنِ مِنَ الدَّهْرِ كِلَاهُمَا يَعْصِمُنِي اللَّهُ تَعَالَى مِنْهُمَا قُلْتُ لَيْلَةً لِفَتًى كَانَ مَعِي مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فِي أَعْلَى مَكَّةَ فِي أغنامٍ لِأَهْلِهَا تَرْعَى أَبْصِرْ لِي غَنَمِي حَتَّى أَسْمُرَ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةَ بِمَكَّةَ كَمَا تَسْمُرُ الْفِتْيَانُ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَخَرَجْتُ فَلَمَّا جِئْتُ أَدْنَى دَارٍ مِنْ دُورِ مَكَّةَ سَمِعْتُ غَنَاءً وَصَوْتَ دُفُوفٍ وَزَمْرٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالُوا فُلَانٌ تَزَوَّجَ فُلَانَةَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً فَلَهَوْتُ بِذَلِكِ الْغِنَاءِ وَالصَّوْتِ حَتَّى غَلَبَتْنِي عَيْنِي فَنِمْتُ فَمَا أَيْقَظَنِي إِلَّا مَسُّ الشَّمْسِ فَرَجَعْتُ فَسَمِعْتُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فَقِيلَ لِي مِثْلَ مَا قِيلَ لِي فَلَهَوْتُ بِمَا سَمِعْتُ وَغَلَبَتْنِي عَيْنِي فَمَا أَيْقَظَنِي إِلَّا مَسُّ الشَّمْسِ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ إِلَى صَاحِبِي فَقَالَ مَا فَعَلْتَ؟ فَقُلْتُ مَا فَعَلْتُ شَيْئًا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَوَاللَّهِ مَا هَمَمْتُ بَعْدَهَا أَبَدًا بِسُوءٍ مِمَّا يَعْمَلُ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ حَتَّى أَكْرَمَنِي اللَّهُ تَعَالَى بِنُبُوَّتِهِ»  

[Machine] In the saying of Allah, the Almighty: "Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, except for lapses." [Surah An-Najm 32]. It is said, "It is a man who commits a sin, then he repents from it." He said, "He says, 'If you forgive, O Allah, You forgive so many (sins), and there is no servant for You who does not deserve to be forgiven."  

فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ {الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللِّمَمَ} [النجم 32] قَالَ «هُوَ الرَّجُلُ يُصِيبُ الْفَاحِشَةَ يُلِمُّ بِهَا ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ مِنْهَا» قَالَ يَقُولُ [البحر الرجز] إِنْ تَغْفِرِ اللَّهُمَّ تَغْفِرْ جَمَّا وَأَيُّ عَبْدٍ لَكَ لَا أَلَمَّا «  

[Machine] I was with Abu Hurairah and I said: "O Abu Hurairah, those who avoid major sins and indecencies except for minor sins, what are these minor sins?" He said, "Everything that does not enter the boundaries of the prohibited, but if it enters, it is considered adultery."  

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ {الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللِّمَمَ} [النجم 32] فَمَا اللِّمَمُ؟ قَالَ «كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا لَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْمِرْوَدُ فِي الْمُكْحُلَةِ فَإِذَا دَخَلَ فَذَلِكَ الزِّنَا»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "If you all were not to commit sins, Allah would have destroyed you and bring people who commit sins and seek His forgiveness."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ لَا تُخْطِئُونَ لَأَتَى اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ يُخْطِئُونَ يَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ»  

[Machine] The Prophet (pbuh) said, "If the people did not commit sins, Allah, the Almighty, would have created a creation that sins, and then He would have forgiven them, for He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful." Narrated by Shahida.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ أَنَّ الْعِبَادَ لَمْ يُذْنِبُوا لَخَلَقَ اللَّهُ ﷻ خَلْقًا يُذْنِبُونَ ثُمَّ يَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ» أخرجه شاهدا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah, Exalted and Glorious, says: "O son of Adam, if you come to Me with an earthful of sins and meet Me without associating anything with Me in worship, I will certainly grant you as much forgiveness."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ ﷻ ابْنَ آدَمَ إِنْ دَنَوْتَ مِنِّي شِبْرًا دَنَوْتُ مِنْكَ ذِرَاعًا وَإِنْ دَنَوْتَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا دَنَوْتُ مِنْكَ بَاعًا ابْنَ آدَمَ إِنْ حَدَّثْتَ نَفْسَكَ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ تَعْمَلْهَا كَتَبْتُهَا لَكَ حَسَنَةً وَإِنْ عَمِلْتَهَا كَتَبْتُهَا لَكَ عَشْرًا وَإِنْ هَمَمْتَ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَحَجَزَكَ عَنْهَا هَيْبَتِي كَتَبْتُهَا لَكَ حَسَنَةً وَإِنْ عَمِلْتَهَا كَتَبْتُهَا سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever mentions Allah in himself, Allah will mention him within Himself. And whoever mentions Allah in a gathering, Allah will mention him in a better gathering which is greater in number than the gathering in which he mentioned Him. And whoever draws near to Allah a hand's span, Allah will draw near to him an arm's length. And whoever comes to Allah walking, Allah will come to him running."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ ذَكَرَ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى فِي نَفْسِهِ ذَكَرَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِي نَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ ذَكَرَ اللَّهَ فِي مَلَأٍ ذَكَرَهُ اللَّهُ فِي مَلَأٍ هُمْ أَكْثَرُ مِنَ الْمَلَأِ الَّذِينَ ذَكَرَهُ فِيهِمْ وَأَطْيَبُ وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللَّهِ شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ مِنَ اللَّهِ ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا وَمَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ مَشْيًا أَتَاهُ هَرْوَلَةً وَمَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ هَرْوَلَةً أَتَاهُ اللَّهُ سَعْيًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "Everyone will enter Paradise except those who refuse and turn away from Allah, like the stray camel."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَتَدْخُلُنَّ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَبَى وَشَرَدَ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَشَرَادِ الْبَعِيرِ»  

[Machine] Abu Umamah al-Bahili passed by Khalid ibn Yazid ibn Muawiyah and asked him about a word he heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Khalid replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'All of you will enter Paradise except those who refuse like a stray camel refuses to return to its owner.'" Adh-Dhahabi did not mention it in his summary.  

مَرَّ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ عَلَى خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ أَلْيَنِ كَلِمَةٍ سَمِعَهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «كُلُّكُمْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ شَرَدَ عَلَى اللَّهِ شَرَادَ الْبَعِيرِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: 'Verily, Allah created on the day He created the heavens and the earth, one hundred mercies. Each mercy fills what is between the heavens and the earth. He divided among His creation one mercy by which the mother shows compassion towards her child, and by which the wild animals and birds drink water. And it is by this mercy that creatures show compassion towards one another. And on the Day of Resurrection, He will reserve it for the believers and increase them by ninety-nine.'"  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ كُلُّ رَحْمَةٍ مِلْءُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَقَسَمَ مِنْهَا رَحْمَةً بَيْنَ الْخَلَائِقِ بِهَا تَعْطِفُ الْوَالِدَةُ عَلَى وَلَدِهَا وَبِهَا يَشْرَبُ الْوَحْشُ وَالطَّيْرُ الْمَاءَ وَبِهَا يَتَرَاحَمُ الْخَلَائِقُ فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ قَصَرَهَا عَلَى الْمُتَّقِينَ وَزَادَهُمْ تِسْعًا وَتِسْعِينَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Allah has one hundred parts of mercy. He has sent down one part of mercy to the world, and from it, creatures display affection and mercy between themselves, and that part is used for the sustenance and livelihood of human beings, animals, birds, and insects. And Allah has reserved the remaining ninety-nine parts of mercy for His servants on the Day of Resurrection."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ قَسَمَ رَحْمَةً بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا وَسِعَتْهُمْ إِلَى آجَالِهِمْ وَأَخَّرَ تِسْعًا وَتِسْعِينَ رَحْمَةً لِأَوْلِيَائِهِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قَابِضٌ تِلْكَ الرَّحْمَةَ الَّتِي قَسَمَهَا بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا إِلَى التِّسْعِ وَالتِّسْعِينَ فَيُكْمِلُهَا مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ لِأَوْلِيَائِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»  

[Machine] An Arab came and tethered his camel. Then, he tethered her and prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished praying, he came to his camel, released her reins, got on her, and called out, "O Allah, have mercy on me and Muhammad, and do not include anyone else in Your mercy." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you say that he misled you or his camel? Did you not hear what he said?" They replied, "Indeed, we did." He said, "Indeed, the mercy of Allah is vast. Allah has created 100 parts of mercy, and He sent down one part amongst His creation, including jinn, humans, and animals. And with Allah remains 99 parts of mercy."  

جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَأَنَاخَ رَاحِلَتَهُ ثُمَّ عَقَلَهَا فَصَلَّى خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَتَى رَاحِلَتَهُ فَأَطْلَقَ عِقَالَهَا ثُمَّ رَكِبَهَا ثُمَّ نَادَى اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي وَمُحَمَّدًا وَلَا تُشْرِكْ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا أَحَدًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَتَقُولُونَ هُوَ أَضَلُّ أَمْ بَعِيرُهُ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا مَا قَالَ؟» قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ «لَقَدْ حَظَرَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَاسِعَةٌ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ فَأَنْزَلَ رَحْمَةً يُعَاطِفُ بِهَا الْخَلَائِقُ جِنُّهَا وَإِنْسُهَا وَبَهَائِمُهَا وَعِنْدَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ رَحْمَةً»  

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Show mercy to those on earth and the one in the sky will show Mercy to you."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «ارْحَمْ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ»  

[Machine] My beloved friend, my companion in this room, peace be upon him, said, "Mercy is not removed except from a wretched person."  

خَلِيلِي وَصَفِيِّي صَاحِبُ هَذِهِ الْحُجْرَةِ ﷺ «مَا نُزِعَتِ الرَّحْمَةُ إِلَّا مِنْ شَقِيٍّ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has not created anything except that He has created something that is more powerful than it and He has created His mercy to overpower His anger."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ خَلَقَ لَهُ مَا يَغْلِبُهُ وَخَلَقَ رَحْمَتَهُ تَغْلِبُ غَضَبَهُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Indeed, the angel Gabriel ﷺ inserted his hand into Pharaoh's mouth out of fear that he might say, 'There is no god but Allah,' so that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, may have mercy on him."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ جَعَلَ يَدُسُّ فِي فَمِ فِرْعَوْنَ الطِّينَ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يَقُولَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَيَرْحَمَهُ اللَّهُ ﷻ  

[Machine] "For the Prophet ﷺ , if you were to see me while I am taking a handful from the edge of the sea and then placing it into Pharaoh's nose, the golden one remains silent on it in summary."  

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَوْ رَأَيْتَنِي وَأَنَا آخِذٌ مِنْ حَالِ الْبَحْرِ فَأَدُسُّهُ فِي فِي فِرْعَوْنَ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say in one of his prayers, "O Allah, hold me to account with an easy reckoning." When he finished, I asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, what is an easy reckoning?" He said, "He looks into his Book and overlooks or forgives him for it. Verily, whoever is held accountable, O Aisha, on that day will be destroyed, and every affliction that befalls a believer will expiate his sins, even if it is merely a thorn that pricks him."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي بَعْضِ صَلَاتِهِ «اللَّهُمَّ حَاسِبْنِي حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا» فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْحِسَابُ الْيَسِيرُ؟ قَالَ «يَنْظُرُ فِي كِتَابِهِ وَيَتَجَاوَزُ لَهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّهُ مَنْ نُوقِشَ الْحِسَابَ يَا عَائِشَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ هَلَكَ وَكُلُّ مَا يُصِيبُ الْمُؤْمِنَ كَفَّرَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةِ تَشُوكُهُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came out to us and said, "My close friend Gabriel came to me in a hurry and said, 'O Muhammad, by the One who sent you with the truth, Allah Almighty has a servant among his servants named Abdullah, who has been worshipping Allah for five hundred years atop a mountain in the sea. The mountain's width and length are thirty cubits, and it is surrounded by a four-thousand-farsakh sea from all sides. Allah, the Exalted, has granted him a pure spring of fresh water as wide as a finger, which collects in the bottom of the mountain. Additionally, there is a pomegranate tree that bears a fresh pomegranate for him every night to sustain him during the day. When the evening falls, he descends and performs ablution. Then he takes one of those pomegranates and eats it before standing for his prayer. He beseeches his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, at the time of his appointed meeting, to take his soul while he is in prostration, and to not let anything corrupt him in the earth. Allah answered his supplication and will resurrect him on the Day of Resurrection while he is still in prostration before Him. The Lord will say to him, 'Enter Paradise, O My servant, by My mercy.' But the servant will say, 'O Lord, rather by my deeds.' The Lord will repeat, 'Enter Paradise, O My servant, by My mercy.' Again, the servant will say, 'O Lord, rather by my deeds.' Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will then address the angels, 'Appraise My servant according to My favors and his deeds.' His vision will extend for five hundred years of worship, and his bodily blessings will remain beyond that. The Lord will then order, 'Take My servant to the Hellfire.' He will be dragged towards it and will cry out to his Lord, 'O Lord, by Your mercy, admit me to Paradise!' The Lord will respond, 'Return him.' He will be placed before his Lord. The Lord will ask him, 'O My servant, who created you when you were nothing?' The servant will answer, 'You, O Lord.' The Lord will ask, 'Was that by My favor or by My mercy?' The servant will answer, 'Rather, by Your mercy, O Lord.' The Lord will ask, 'Who empowered you to worship for five hundred years?' The servant will answer, 'You, O Lord.' The Lord will ask, 'Who placed you on a mountain amidst the waves, brought forth fresh water for you from salty water, and made a pomegranate tree bear a fresh pomegranate for you every night, even though it usually produces only once a year? Did you request that I take your soul in prostration, and did I grant you that?' The servant will answer, 'You, O Lord.' Allah, the Exalted, will declare, 'All of this was by My mercy, and by My mercy I will admit you to Paradise. Enter, My servant, paradise.' Jabriel said, 'O Muhammad, things are only dependent on the mercy of Allah, the Exalted.'"  

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِي خَلِيلِي جِبْرِيلُ آنِفًا فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ عَبْدًا مِنْ عَبِيدِهِ عَبَدَ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى خَمْسَ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ عَلَى رَأْسِ جَبَلٍ فِي الْبَحْرِ عَرْضُهُ وَطُولُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ ذِرَاعًا فِي ثَلَاثِينَ ذِرَاعًا وَالْبَحْرُ مُحِيطٌ بِهِ أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافِ فَرْسَخٍ مِنْ كُلِّ نَاحِيَةٍ وَأَخْرَجَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى لَهُ عَيْنًا عَذْبَةً بِعَرْضِ الْأُصْبَعِ تَبَضُّ بِمَاءٍ عَذْبٍ فَتَسْتَنْقِعُ فِي أَسْفَلِ الْجَبَلِ وَشَجَرَةَ رُمَّانٍ تُخْرِجُ لَهُ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ رُمَّانَةً فَتُغَذِّيهِ يَوْمَهُ فَإِذَا أَمْسَى نَزَلَ فَأَصَابَ مِنَ الْوضُوءِ وَأَخَذَ تِلْكَ الرُّمَّانَةَ فَأَكَلَهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ لِصَلَاتِهِ فَسَأَلَ رَبَّهُ ﷻ عِنْدَ وَقْتِ الْأَجَلِ أَنْ يَقْبِضَهُ سَاجِدًا وَأَنْ لَا يَجْعَلَ لِلْأَرْضِ وَلَا لِشَيْءٍ يُفْسِدُهُ عَلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا حَتَّى بَعَثَهُ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ قَالَ فَفَعَلَ فَنَحْنُ نَمُرُّ عَلَيْهِ إِذَا هَبَطْنَا وَإِذَا عَرَجْنَا فَنَجِدُ لَهُ فِي الْعِلْمِ أَنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللَّهِ ﷻ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ الرَّبُّ أَدْخِلُوا عَبْدِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِي فَيَقُولُ رَبِّ بَلْ بِعَمَلِي فَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ أَدْخِلُوا عَبْدِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِي فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ بَلْ بِعَمَلِي فَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ أَدْخِلُوا عَبْدِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِي فَيَقُولُ رَبِّ بَلْ بِعَمَلِي فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ ﷻ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ قَايِسُوا عَبْدِي بِنِعْمَتِي عَلَيْهِ وَبِعَمَلِهِ فَتُوجَدُ نِعْمَةُ الْبَصَرِ قَدْ أَحَاطَتْ بِعِبَادَةِ خَمْسِ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ وَبَقِيَتْ نِعْمَةُ الْجَسَدِ فَضْلًا عَلَيْهِ فَيَقُولُ أَدْخِلُوا عَبْدِي النَّارَ قَالَ فَيُجَرُّ إِلَى النَّارِ فَيُنَادِي رَبِّ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَدْخِلْنِي الْجَنَّةَ فَيَقُولُ رُدُّوهُ فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا عَبْدِي مَنْ خَلَقَكَ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْئًا؟ فَيَقُولُ أَنْتَ يَا رَبِّ فَيَقُولُ كَانَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قِبَلِكَ أَوْ بِرَحْمَتِي؟ فَيَقُولُ بَلْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ قَوَّاكَ لِعِبَادَةِ خَمْسِ مِائَةِ عَامٍ؟ فَيَقُولُ أَنْتَ يَا رَبِّ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ أَنْزَلَكَ فِي جَبَلٍ وَسَطَ اللُّجَّةِ وَأَخْرَجَ لَكَ الْمَاءَ الْعَذْبَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ الْمَالِحِ وَأَخْرَجَ لَكَ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ رُمَّانَةً وَإِنَّمَا تَخْرُجُ مَرَّةً فِي السَّنَةِ وَسَأَلْتَنِي أَنْ أَقْبِضَكَ سَاجِدًا فَفَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ بِكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ أَنْتَ يَا رَبِّ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ فَذَلِكَ بِرَحْمَتِي وَبِرَحْمَتِي أُدْخِلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ أَدْخِلُوا عَبْدِي الْجَنَّةَ فَنِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ كُنْتَ يَا عَبْدِي فَيُدْخِلُهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ إِنَّمَا الْأَشْيَاءُ بِرَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى يَا مُحَمَّدُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'There is no deity but Allah', will enter Paradise and Paradise will become obligatory for him. And whoever says, 'Glory be to Allah and praise to Him', Allah will record for him one thousand good deeds and erase forty-four bad deeds." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, then none of us will be destroyed!" He said, "No, even if one of you brings good deeds equivalent to the weight of Mount Uhud, Allah will still exceed that with His mercy."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَوَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَمَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ مِائَةُ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَلْفَ حَسَنَةٍ وَأَرْبَعًا وَعِشْرِينَ حَسَنَةً قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِذًا لَا يَهْلِكُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ قَالَ «بَلَى إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَجِيءُ بِالْحَسَنَاتِ لَوْ وُضِعَتْ عَلَى جَبَلٍ أَثْقَلَتْهُ ثُمَّ تَجِيءُ النِّعَمُ فَتَذْهَبُ بِتِلْكَ ثُمَّ يَتَطَاوَلُ الرَّبُّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ بِرَحْمَتِهِ»  

“The wise man is the one who takes account of himself and strives for that which is after death. And the helpless man is the one who follows his own whims then indulges in wishful thinking about Allah.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4260)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْكَيِّسُ مَنْ دَانَ نَفْسَهُ وَعَمِلَ لِمَا بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَالْعَاجِزُ مَنْ أَتْبَعَ نَفْسَهُ هَوَاهَا وَتَمَنَّى عَلَى اللَّهِ ﷻ»  

[Machine] The translation of the given Arabic sentence into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A believer is forgiven.'"  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ مُكَفَّرٌ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, from the trustworthy spirit, who said: The Lord, glorified and exalted be He, said: "The good deeds of a servant are brought to Him, and his bad deeds are also brought. Then He recounts the good deeds to outweigh the bad ones. If the good deeds outnumber, Allah will enlarge his reward in Paradise." The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Yazid, who narrated a similar hadith. I asked him, "What happens if the good deed disappears?" He replied, "Those are the ones whose best deeds will be accepted, and to whom Allah will say, 'You are deserving of the best of what you have done,'"; and he recited, "They will be rewarded" [Al-Ahqaf 16]. Then he recited until, "No person knows what is kept hidden for them of comfort' [As-Sajdah 17]." I said to him, "Now I see the saying of Allah, 'So no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes,'" and he said, "A servant works in secret, and his reward is with Allah, and people do not know about it. So Allah will keep it a secret for him on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be a comfort for his eyes."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنِ الرُّوحِ الْأَمِينِ قَالَ قَالَ قَالَ الرَّبُّ ﷻ يُؤْتَى بِحَسَنَاتِ الْعَبْدِ وَسَيِّئَاتِهِ فَيَقُصُّ بَعْضَهَا بِبَعْضٍ فَإِنْ بَقِيَتْ حَسَنَةٌ وَسَّعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى يَزْدَادَ فَحَدَّثَنَا بِمِثْلِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قُلْتُ لَهُ فَإِنْ ذَهَبَتِ الْحَسَنَةُ؟ قَالَ {أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا} [الأحقاف 16] وَقَرَأَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {يُوعَدُونَ} [الأحقاف 16] قُلْتُ لَهُ فَرَأَيْتُ قَوْلَهُ ﷻ {فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَا أُخْفِيَ لَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَّةِ} [السجدة 17] أَعْيُنٍ وَقَالَ «الْعَبْدُ يَعْمَلُ سِرًّا أَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ ﷻ فَلَا تَعْلَمُ بِهِ النَّاسُ فَأَسَرَّ اللَّهُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ»  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, narrated to him that the trustworthy soul informed him that Allah the Exalted has decreed that on the Day of Judgment, the deeds of a person - both good and bad - will be brought forward, and some of them will be offset against one another. If there remains for him only one good deed, Allah will multiply it and grant him in Paradise what He wills." Al-Hakam ibn Aban said, "I then went to Abu Salamah and asked him, 'What if the good deed exhausts and nothing is left?' He replied, 'They are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they have done,' until His saying, 'which they used to be promised.'" [Surah Al-Ahqaf: 16]  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ الرُّوحَ الْأَمِينَ حَدَّثَهُ «أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قَضَى أَنْ يُؤْتَى بِعَمَلِ الْعَبْدِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَسَنَاتِهِ وَسَيِّئَاتِهِ فَيَقُصُّ بَعْضَهَا بِبَعْضٍ فَإِنْ بَقِيَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ وَسَّعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مَا شَاءَ» قَالَ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبَانَ فَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ يَزْدَادَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَإِنْ ذَهَبَتِ الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَمْ يَبْقَ شَيْءٌ؟ فَقَالَ {أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا} [الأحقاف 16] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ} [الأحقاف 16]  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are some people who would wish that they had committed more sins." They asked, "Why, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Because they are the ones whom Allah has replaced their bad deeds with good deeds." This is narrated by Abu Al-Anbas, Sa'id bin Kathir, and its chain of narration is authentic, and it has not been excluded from being authentic.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ لَوْ أَكْثَرُوا مِنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ» قَالُوا بِمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «الَّذِينَ بَدَّلَ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ حَسَنَاتٍ» أَبُو الْعَنْبَسِ هَذَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ وَإِسْنَادُهُ صَحِيحٌ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will come a group of people from my Ummah (followers) with sins as high as mountains, and Allah will forgive them and place those sins on the Jews and Christians."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيَجِيئَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي بِمِثْلِ الْجِبَالِ ذَنُوبًا فَيَغْفِرُهَا اللَّهُ لَهُمْ وَيَضَعُهَا عَلَى الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى»  

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "This Ummah will be gathered into three categories: a category that enters Paradise without being held accountable, a category that is held accountable in a light manner, and a category that comes on their knees like mountains that are shaken and Allah will ask about them while He is the most knowledgeable about them. He will say, 'Who are these?' They will reply, 'They are your servants, O Allah.' Then, He will say, 'Remove the sins from them and place them on the Jews and Christians, and admit them to Paradise by My mercy.'"  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ تُحْشَرُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةُ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَصْنَافٍ صِنْفٌ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ وَصِنْفٌ يُحَاسَبُونَ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا وَصِنْفٌ يَجِيئُونَ عَلَى ظُهُورِهِمْ أَمْثَالُ الْجِبَالِ الرَّاسِيَاتِ فَيَسْأَلُ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَؤُلَاءِ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ هَؤُلَاءِ عَبِيدٌ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ فَيَقُولُ حُطُّوهَا عَنْهُمْ وَاجْعَلُوهَا عَلَى الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى وَأَدْخِلُوهُمْ بِرَحْمَتِيَ الْجَنَّةَ  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Allah does not find a servant who regrets a sin except that He forgives him before he seeks forgiveness from Him."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا عَلِمَ اللَّهُ مِنْ عَبْدٍ نَدَامَةً عَلَى ذَنْبٍ إِلَّا غَفَرَ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرَهُ مِنْهُ»  

[Machine] On the authority of Abdullah in his saying, Exalted is He: "Perhaps they will return." [Quran 30:41]. He said, "They will repent."  

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ} [الروم 41] قَالَ «يَتُوبُونَ»  

Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offence which deserves imposition of haad, so impose it upon me according to the Book of Allah. Thereupon he said: Were you not present with us at the time of prayer? He said: Yes. Thereupon he said: You have been granted pardon. (Using translation from Muslim 2764)   

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا قَالَ فَلَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ عَنْهُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْ فِيَّ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «أَصَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا الصَّلَاةَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «قَدْ غُفِرَ لَكَ»  

[Machine] While I was standing in the market in the emirate of Ziyad, I accidentally hit one of my hands with the other in amazement. A man from the Ansar (helpers of the Prophet) said, "Hasn't your father been a companion of the Messenger of Allah, may peace be upon him, so you wonder, O Abu Burdah?" I replied, "I am amazed by a people whose religion is one, their prophet is one, their call is one, their Hajj is one, and their warfare is one, yet they kill each other." He said, "Do not be amazed, for I heard my father tell me that he heard the Messenger of Allah, may peace be upon him, say, 'Indeed, my Ummah (nation) is a Ummah that is shown mercy. There will be no accountability or punishment for them in the Hereafter. Their punishment is only in killing, earthquakes, and trials.'"  

بَيْنَا أَنَا وَاقِفٌ فِي السُّوقِ فِي إِمَارَةِ زِيَادٍ إِذْ ضَرَبْتُ بِإِحْدَى يَدَيَّ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى تَعَجُّبًا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَدْ كَانَتْ لِوَالِدِهِ صُحْبَةٌ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِمَّا تَعْجَبُ يَا أَبَا بُرْدَةَ؟ قُلْتُ أَعْجَبُ مِنْ قَوْمٍ دِينُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَبِيُّهُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَدَعْوَتُهُمْ وَاحِدَةٌ وَحَجُّهُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَغَزْوُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ يَسْتَحِلُّ بَعْضُهُمْ قَتْلَ بَعْضٍ قَالَ فَلَا تَعْجَبْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ وَالِدِي أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أُمَّتِي أُمَّةٌ مَرْحُومَةٌ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ حِسَابٌ وَلَا عَذَابٌ إِنَّمَا عَذَابُهَا فِي الْقَتْلِ وَالزَّلَازِلُ وَالْفِتَنُ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The punishment of this nation has been placed in their own hands in this worldly life."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «عَذَابُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ جُعِلَ بِأَيْدِيهَا فِي دُنْيَاهَا»
