[Machine] He is hesitant to narrate a Hadith while I am sitting, Ziyad, narrating it from Abdullah ibn Mughaffal, who said, "I entered with my father to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, and my father said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Regret is repentance."' Ibn Mas'ud said, 'Yes, I also heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Regret is repentance."'"  

الحاكم:٧٦١٣ – حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مِنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ زِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ قَالَ مَا كَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ

يَسْتَحِي أَنْ يُحَدِّثَ بِحَدِيثٍ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ زِيَادٌ يَقُولُهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ أَبِي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ» قَالَ نَعَمْ أَنَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ بِهَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةِ إِنَّمَا اتَّفَقَا عَلَى حَدِيثِ الْإِفْكِ وَقَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِعَائِشَةَ «إِنْ كُنْتِ بَرِيئَةً فَسَيُبَرِّئُكِ اللَّهُ وَإِنْ كُنْتِ أَلْمَمْتِ بِذَنْبٍ فَاسْتَغْفِرِي اللَّهَ وَتُوبِي إِلَيْهِ فَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا اعْتَرَفَ بِذَنَبِهِ ثُمَّ تَابَ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ»

“I entered with my father upon ‘Abdullah, and I heard him say: ‘The messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Regret is repentance.” My father said: ‘Did you hear the Prophet ﷺ say: “Regret is repentance?” He said: ‘Yes.’”  

ابن ماجة:٤٢٥٢ – حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَعْقِلٍ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ

I along with my father entered upon ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd then he said, "Did you hear the Prophet ﷺ say, 'Regret is repentance'?" He said, "Yes." and said, "Once I heard him say, 'Regret is repentance.'"
