[Machine] The Quraysh asked the Prophet ﷺ to pray for them that Safa be turned into gold and they would believe in him. He asked them, "Are you sure?" They replied, "Yes." So he prayed, and Jibril (AS) came to him and said, "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, sends His greetings upon you and says, 'If you wish, I can turn Safa into gold. But whoever disbelieves after that, I will punish them with a punishment that I do not inflict upon anyone in the worlds. And if you wish, I can open the gate of repentance and mercy for them.'" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Rather, it is the gate of repentance and mercy."

قُرَيْشٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ ادْعُ لَنَا أَنْ يَجْعَلَ لَنَا الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ قَالَ «أَتَفْعَلُونَ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَدَعَا فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ وَيَقُولُ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَصْبَحَ الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا فَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَذَّبْتُهُ عَذَابًا لَا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَدًا مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَحْتُ لَهُمْ بَابَ التَّوْبَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ قَالَ «بَلْ بَابُ التَّوْبَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

The Quraysh said to the Prophet ﷺ: Call upon your Lord to turn the mount of Ṣafā into gold for us and we will believe in you.” He said, “And you will do so?” They said: Yes. He supplicated and Jibrīl came to him and he said, "Your Lord sends peace upon you and says that if you so wish, I will turn the mount of Ṣafā into gold for them, but whoever among them disbelieves after that will be punished with a great punishment like no one else in the worlds; but if you so wish, the door of repentance and Mercy will be opened for them." He said, “Rather, ˹I chose˺ the door of repentance and Mercy.”  

أحمد:٢١٦٦ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَتْ قُرَيْشٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ لَنَا الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ۔ قَالَ: «وَتَفْعَلُونَ؟» قَالُوا: نَعَمْ۔ قَالَ فَدَعَا فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلامَ، وَيَقُولُ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَصْبَحَ لَهُمُ الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا فَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُمْ عَذَّبْتُهُ عَذَابًا لَا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَدًا مِنَ العَالَمِينَ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَحْتُ لَهُمْ بَابَ التَّوْبَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ۔ قَالَ: «بَلْ بَابُ التَّوْبَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ۔»

[Machine] "Quraysh said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'Pray to our Lord to make Safa golden for us. If it becomes golden, we will follow you and believe that what you have said is true.' So, the Prophet ﷺ asked his Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, and Jibril came to him and said: 'If you wish, Safa will become golden for them. Whoever disbelieves after that, I will punish them with a punishment unlike any other in the world. And if you wish, we will open the doors of repentance for them.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Lord, no, but open the doors of repentance for them.'"

قُرَيْشٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُصْبِحْ لَنَا الصَّفَا ذَهَبَةً فَإِنْ أَصْبَحَتْ ذَهَبَةً اتَّبَعْنَاكَ وَعَرَفْنَا أَنَّ مَا قُلْتَ كَمَا قُلْتَ فَسَأَلَ رَبَّهُ ﷻ فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ فَقَالَ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَصْبَحَتْ لَهُمْ هَذِهِ الصَّفَا ذَهَبَةً فَمَنْ كَفَرَ مِنْهُمْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَذَّبْتُهُ عَذَابًا لَا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَدًا مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَحْنَا لَهُمْ أَبْوَابَ التَّوْبَةِ قَالَ يَا رَبِّ لَا بَلِ افْتَحْ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابَ التَّوْبَةِ

[Machine] Translation: "Quraysh people said to the Prophet ﷺ , 'Call upon your Lord to make Safa a gold for us, and we will believe in you.' The Prophet replied, 'Will you really do that?' They said, 'Yes.' So he supplicated, and then Gabriel came to him and said, 'Verily, Allah sends His greetings upon you and says, "If you wish, I can make Safa turn into gold, but whoever disbelieves after that, I will punish him with a punishment that I do not inflict upon anyone in the worlds. And if you wish, I can open for them the doors of repentance and mercy."' The Prophet said, 'Rather, it is the door of repentance and mercy.'"

[Machine] "Quraysh to the Prophet (pbuh): "Invoke Allah, your Lord, to make Safa into gold for us, and we will believe in you." The Prophet (pbuh) asked, "Will you really do so?" They replied, "Yes." So, he supplicated to Allah, and Jibril came to him and said, "Verily, your Lord greets you with peace and says, 'If you wish, I will make Safa into gold for them, and whoever among them disbelieves, I will punish them with a punishment that I will not inflict upon anyone from the worlds. So, he supplicated to his Lord, and Jibril ﷺ came to him and said, "Indeed, your Lord greets you with peace and says to you, 'If you wish, I will make Safa into gold for them. But whoever among them disbelieves, I will punish him with a punishment unlike any that I have inflicted upon anyone in the worlds. And if you wish, I will open for them the gate of repentance and mercy.'" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Rather, it is the gate of repentance and mercy."  

الطبراني:١٢٧٣٦ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ السُّلَمِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ
