“A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, teach me but make it concise.’ He said: ‘When you stand to pray, pray like a man bidding farewell. Do not say anything for which you will have to apologize. And give up hope for what other people have.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4171)
[Machine] "What is the matter with her?" they said. "Separate her from her son," he said. So he took the hand of her son until he put him in her hand. The owner of the dividing land then went to Abdullah bin Qais and informed him. Abdullah sent a message to Abu Ayyub and said, "What led you to do what you have done?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever separates a mother from her child, Allah will separate him from his loved ones on the Day of Resurrection.'"
AbuAyyub heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Capitals will be conquered at your hands, and you will have to raise companies in large armies. A man will be unwilling to join a company, so he will escape from his people and go round the tribes offering himself to them, saying: Whose place may I take in such and such expedition? Whose place may I take in such and such expedition? Beware: That man is a hireling to the last drop of his blood. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2525)
[Machine] "He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he mentioned it."
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "Whoever comes worshipping Allah and not associating anything with Him, establishing Salah, paying Zakah and avoiding major sins, Paradise will be his." They asked him about major sins and he said: "Associating others with Allah, killing a Muslim soul, and fleeing (from the battlefield) on the day of the march." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4009)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "Verily, every prayer wipes away the sins committed before it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a plate containing onions. He said, "Eat," but he refused to eat and said, "Indeed, I am not like you."
[Machine] I heard Abu Ruham, a storyteller from the people of Sham, say that he heard Abu Ayoub Al-Ansari say that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , one day came to them and said, "Verily, your Lord has chosen me among seventy thousand people who will enter Paradise without being held accountable, and between the hidden knowledge with Him for my nation." Some of his companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, will your Lord keep this a secret?" So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , entered and then came out while saying, "Indeed, my Lord has increased me by seventy thousand with each thousand, and the hidden knowledge is with Him." Abu Ruham said, "O Abu Ayoub, what do you think is the secret of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ?" The people instantly whispered and said, "And what about you? Are you the secret of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ?" Abu Ayoub replied, "Leave the man, and I will inform you about the secret of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , as I think. Actually, it is as certain as I am. The secret of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , is that he says, 'Whoever testifies that there is no god but Allah, alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger, confirming this with his tongue and heart, will enter Paradise.'"
[Machine] When the messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Medina, the Ansar held a consultation to decide who among them would host the messenger of Allah ﷺ . Abu Ayyub al-Ansari won the selection and hosted the messenger of Allah ﷺ . Whenever the messenger of Allah ﷺ received food as a gift, he would give it to Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him). One day, Abu Ayyub entered his house and found a dish containing onions. He asked, "What is this?" They told him that it was sent by the messenger of Allah ﷺ . Abu Ayyub went to see the prophet ﷺ and asked, "O messenger of Allah, what prevents you from eating onions?" The prophet ﷺ replied, "I saw onions in it." Abu Ayyub said, "Is it not permissible for us to eat onions?" The prophet ﷺ said, "Yes, you may eat it, but it affects me in a way that it does not affect you." Abu Ayyub then said, "May my life be sacrificed for you, what affects you does not affect us."
"Measure your food, may you be blessed therein." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2232)
"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Measure your food, may you be blessed therein."' (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2231)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The hand of Allah is with the judge when he judges, and the hand of Allah is with the distributor when he distributes."
[Machine] They recalled a day when the casting of lots took place, and they quarreled over the outcome. Then Abu Ayyub al-Ansari passed by them, so they sent a man to him and asked, "O Abu Ayyub, is casting of lots done here?" He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding every form of gambling in which lots are cast." So the casting of lots was returned to him, and Abu Ayyub responded with the same statement as before.
"I narrated heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Whoever seperates a mother from her child, Allah seperates him and his most beloved on the Day of Judgement.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1283)
"By Allah, I do not know what I should do with these Karais (toilets). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When any one of you goes to defecate or urinate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, nor turn his back towards it." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 20)
I used to conceal from you a thing which I heard from Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Had you not committed sins, Allah would have brought into existence a creation that would have committed sin (and Allah) would have forgiven them. (Using translation from Muslim 2748a)
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Medina, he stayed at my house. He said to me, "O Abu Ayyub, should I teach you something?" I replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "There is no servant who says in the morning, 'There is no deity except Allah, alone, without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise,' except that Allah recorded for him ten good deeds and erased for him ten evil deeds. And whoever says it in the evening, will have the same reward until the morning. And whoever says it in the evening, will have the same reward until the morning." I then asked Abu Muhammad, "Did you hear this from Abu Ayyub?" He replied, "By Allah, I did hear it from Abu Ayyub who narrated it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
Allah's Messnger ﷺ had alighted in his house (viz. of Abu Ayyub Ansari at the time of his emigration to Medina) and he occupied the lower storey, whereas Abu Ayyub Ansari lived in the upper storey. One night, Abu Ayyub Ansari got up and said (to himself): (How unfortunate it is) that we walk above the head of Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so they went aside and spent the night in a nook and then told Allah's Apostle ﷺ about it whereupon Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: The lower storey is more comfortable (for me). but he (Abu Ayyub Ansari) said: We (would not live) over the roof under which you live. So Messenger of Allah ﷺ shifted to the upper storey, whereas Abu Ayyub Ansari shifted to the lower storey; and he (Abu Ayyub Ansari) used to prepare food for Allah's Apostle ﷺ ; and when it was brought (back) to him he asked (to locate) the part, where his fingers had touched (the food), and he followed his fingers on that part where his fingers (those of the Holy Prophet) had touched it. (One day) he prepared food which contained garlic, and when it was returned to him he asked (to locate) the part which the fingers of Allah's Apostle ﷺ had touched. It was said to him that he had not eaten (the food). He (Abd Ayyub Ansari) was distressed and went up to him (to the Holy Prophet) and said: Is it forbidden? But Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: No, (it is not forbidden), but I do not like it. and he (Abu Ayyub Ansari) said: I also do not like what you do not like or which you did not like. He (Abu Ayyub Ansari) said: (The Prophet did not eat garlic) as Allah's Apostle ﷺ was visited (by angels) and brought him the message of Allah. (Using translation from Muslim 2053c)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says when they pray the dawn prayer: 'There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty and the praise, and He is powerful over everything,' ten times, it is as if they have freed four slaves, and ten good deeds are written for them and ten bad deeds are erased from them, and they are elevated by ten levels, and they have a protector from Satan until the evening. And if they say it after the sunset prayer, it is the same."
[Machine] He said, "We do not know how to make use of the bathrooms of Egypt, although the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us from facing both qiblas (directions of prayer) and turning our backs towards them." Hammam (one of the narrators) said, "He means defecation and urination."
[Machine] "From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: 'There is no man who plants a plant, except that Allah writes for him the reward equivalent to what comes out of the fruit of that plant.'"
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Hasten to perform the Maghrib prayer before the rising of the star."
[Machine] " He said: We were with the Prophet ﷺ one day, and he brought some food close to us. I did not see any food that had more blessing in it, both at the beginning and at the end, than that one. We asked, "How is this, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Because we mentioned the name of Allah when we ate, and then someone else ate without mentioning His name, so the Shaytan ate with him."
[Machine] When Abu Ayyub dies, recite my greetings to the people and inform them that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever dies without associating anything with Allah, Allah will admit him to Paradise. Let them carry me, and let them take me far away in the land of the Romans as much as they can." So, when Abu Ayyub died, people felt hesitant and carried his funeral.

So, when food containing garlic was brought, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not eat anything from it. He sent it to Abu Ayyub, and his family said to him, "Have him come closer to you, for I am in need of it." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not see the trace of his hand in it, he withdrew his hand from it. He then came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Prophet of Allah, by my mother and father, have you not eaten from this food?" He said, "In it was garlic, so Jibril sought permission from me to eat it, so I ate."
