The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a person supplicating during prayer. He did not mention the greatness of Allah, nor did he invoke blessings on the Prophet ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He made haste. He then called him and said either to him or to any other person: If any of you prays, he should mention the exaltation of his Lord in the beginning and praise Him; he should then invoke blessings on the Prophet ﷺ; thereafter he should supplicate Allah for anything he wishes. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1481)

Do not ask about these three types. He said: 'Pass by me while saying Bismillah (in the name of Allah).' So the people passed by him while he blew on their backs, saying: 'O Allah, put it on them for Your sake. Indeed, You are capable of carrying the strong and weak, and the moist and dry, on land and sea.' Fudalah said, 'We did not reach Medina until it started to contest us its difficulties.' Fudalah said, 'This is the supplication of the Prophet ﷺ for the strong and weak, so what about the moist and dry?' When we arrived in Sham, we fought the Battle of Qabrus in the sea.
