13. Anonymous of the Companions
١٣۔ أحاديث رجال من أصحاب النبي ﷺ
his parents referred their dispute to the Prophet ﷺ, and one of them was a disbeliever. He (the Prophet ﷺ) said: “O Allah, guide him,” and he turned towards the Muslim, and he ruled that he should go with that parent. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2352)
أَنَّ أَبَوَيْهِ اخْتَصَمَا فِيهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَحَدُهُمَا مُسْلِمٌ وَالْآخَرُ كَافِرٌ فَخَيَّرَهُ فَتَوَجَّهَ إِلَى الْكَافِرِ مِنْهُمَا فَقَالَ اللهُمَّ اهْدِهِ فَتَوَجَّهَ إِلَى الْمُسْلِمِ فَقَضَى لَهُ بِهِ
[Machine] That his grandfather accepted Islam during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, but his grandmother did not accept Islam. He had a son from her, and they both had a dispute that they took to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said to them, "If you wish, I will decide between you and choose the boy." He sat the father on one side and the mother on the other side, and he chose the boy. Then the boy went towards his mother, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, guide him." He then returned to his father.
أَنَّ جَدَّهُ أَسْلَمَ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَمْ تُسْلِمْ جَدَّتُهُ وَلَهُ مِنْهَا ابْنٌ فَاخْتَصَمَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنْ شِئْتُمَا خَيَّرْتُمَا الْغُلَامَ قَالَ وَأَجْلَسَ الْأَبَ نَاحِيَةًوَالْأُمَّ نَاحِيَةً فَخَيَّرَهُ فَانْطَلَقَ نَحْوَ أُمِّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللهُمَّ اهْدِهِ قَالَ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى أَبِيهِ
My daughter; she is weaned or about to wean. Rafi' said: My daughter. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: Be seated on a side. And he said to her: Be seated on a side. He then seated the girl between them, and said to them: Call her. The girl inclined to her mother. The Prophet ﷺ said: O Allah! guide her. The daughter then inclined to her father, and he took her. أَنْ تُسْلِمَ فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ ابْنَتِي وَهِيَ فَطِيمٌ أَوْ شَبَهُهُ وَقَالَ رَافِعٌ ابْنَتِي فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اقْعُدْ نَاحِيَةً وَقَالَ لَهَا اقْعُدِي نَاحِيَةً فَأَقْعَدَ الصَّبِيَّةَ بَيْنَهُمَا ثُمَّ قَالَ ادْعُوَاهَا فَمَالَتْ إِلَى أُمِّهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اللهُمَّ اهْدِهَا فَمَالَتْ إِلَى أَبِيهَا فَأَخَذَهَا
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade three things: "Pecking like a crow, resting one's forearms on the ground like a predator, and allocating the same place for prayer like a camel gets used to a certain place." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1112)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ نَقْرَةِ الْغُرَابِ وَعَنْ فَرْشَةِ السَّبُعِ وَأَنْ يُوطِنَ الرَّجُلُ مَقَامَهُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ كَمَا يُوطِنُ الْبَعِيرُ
"O Allah, guide him," and (the child) went to his father. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3495)
أَنْ تُسْلِمَ فَجَاءَ بِابْنٍ لَهُ صَغِيرٍ لَمْ يَبْلُغْ قَالَ فَأَجْلَسَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْأَبَ هَاهُنَا وَالْأُمَّ هَاهُنَا وَقَالَ اللهُمَّ اهْدِهِ فَذَهَبَ إِلَى أَبِيهِ
