أَبُو الْعَنْبَسِ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ

[Machine] "I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he greeted with peace and mercy from his right with 'Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah' and from his left with 'Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.' This is narrated by Musa bin Qays from Salamah, who said from Alqamah bin Wa'il. And he added in the greeting 'and his blessings.'"  

«صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ» هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ مُوسَى بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ وَزَادَ فِي السَّلَامِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ  

[Machine] "He prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he used to say the takbir when he lowered and raised his head, and he would raise his hands at the time of the takbir, and he would give the salaam on his right and left." Shu'ba said, "Aban ibn Taghlib mentioned this to me until his face became clear. So I mentioned that to 'Amr ibn Murrah, and he said, 'Or something similar to that.'"  

«أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ يُكَبِّرُ إِذَا خَفَضَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ وَيَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ عِنْدَ التَّكْبِيرَةِ وَيُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ» قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَقَالَ لِي أَبَانُ بْنُ تَغْلِبَ فِي ذَا الْحَدِيثِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ وَضَحُ وَجْهِهِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] I saw the Prophet ﷺ greet with his right hand and his left hand until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen.  

«رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ»  

[Machine] I prayed behind Abdul Rahman Al-Yahsibi and he gave the salam (greeting) from his right, saying, "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah." Then he gave the same salam from his left. I asked him, "Where did you get this from?" He replied, "I prayed behind Wael bin Hujr and he said, 'I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he did the same until I saw the whiteness of his cheeks.'"  

صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْيَحْصِبِيِّ فَسَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ مِنْ أَيْنَ أَخَذْتَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ قَالَ «صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَفَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ بَيَاضَ خَدَّيْهِ»  

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Not (the path) of those who earn Your anger nor of those who go astray." He said, "Lord, forgive me. Amen."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ قَالَ {غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} قَالَ «رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي آمِينَ»  

[Machine] I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the killer was brought to him, dragging his spear. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the guardian of the deceased, "Do you forgive him?" He replied, "No." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then you shall take revenge." He replied, "No." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then you shall kill him." He replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ repeated this three times, and then he said to him, "If you were to forgive him, he would bear the burden of his sin." He then forgave him, and I saw him dragging his spear and he was forgiven.  

شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ أُتِيَ بِالْقَاتِلِ يَجُرُّ نِسْعَتَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِوَلِيِّ الْمَقْتُولِ «أَتَعْفُو عَنْهُ؟» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَتَأْخُذُ» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَتَقْتُلُهُ» قَالَ نَعَمْ فَأَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّكَ إِنْ عَفَوْتَ عَنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَبُوءُ بِإِثْمِهِ» قَالَ فَعَفَا عَنْهُ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَجُرُّ نِسْعَتَهُ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْهُ  

[Machine] He prayed behind the Prophet ﷺ , and when he said {and not of those who have gone astray}, he said "Ameen" and concealed his voice with it. He placed his right hand on his left hand and turned away from his right and left sides.  

أَنَّهُ صَلَّى خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا قَالَ {وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} قَالَ «آمِينَ» فَأَخْفَى بِهَا صَوْتَهُ وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ  

[Machine] He ﷺ prayed with the Messenger of Allah when he said, "And not of those who have gone astray." He said, "Ameen" and concealed his voice with it. Then he placed his right hand on his left hand and placed them on his stomach. And when he said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him," he said, "O Allah, our Lord, all praise is for You." And he greeted to his right and to his left with two greetings.  

أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ قَالَ {وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} قَالَ «آمِينَ» وَأَخْفَى بِهَا صَوْتَهُ ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى وَجَعَلَهَا عَلَى بَطْنِهِ وَكَانَ إِذَا قَالَ «سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ» قَالَ «اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ» وَيُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ تَسْلِيمَتَيْنِ  

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse "Nor of those who go astray" (Surah al-Fatihah, verse 7), he would say Amin; and raised his voice (while uttering this word). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 932)  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ {وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} قَالَ «آمِينَ» يَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ  

[Machine] I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I heard him say, "And not of those who have gone astray." He said, "Ameen" and lowered his voice with it. He placed his right hand over his left hand and he gave Salam, starting from his right side and then his left side.  

صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَمِعْتُهُ حِينَ قَالَ {وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} قَالَ «آمِينَ» وَيَخْفِضُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى وَيُسَلِّمْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ  

[Machine] I heard Wael ibn Hujr Al-Hadrami saying, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ continuously sending peace until I saw the whiteness of his forehead from this side and from that side."  

سَمِعْتُ وَائِلَ بْنَ حُجْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ يَقُولُ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ بَيَاضَ خَدِّهِ مِنْ ذَا الْجَانِبِ وَمِنْ ذَا الْجَانِبِ»  

[Machine] I prayed behind the Prophet ﷺ , and he said the supplication out loud, saying "Ameen" and " ﷺ " to his right and left until I saw the whiteness of his cheek.  

«صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَجَهَرَ بِآمِينَ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ بَيَاضَ خَدِّهِ»  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , in pain to the extent that he complained, and he prayed while sitting on his side, leaning to his right.  

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ وَجِعٌ حَتَّى اشْتَكَى صَلَّى جَالِسًا عَلَى جَنْبِهِ إِلَى يَمِينِهِ»  

لَمَّا بَلَغَنَا ظُهُورُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ خَرَجْتُ وَافِدًا عَنْ قَوْمِي حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَلَقِيتُ أَصْحَابَهُ قَبْلَ لِقَائِهِ فَقَالُوا قَدْ بَشَّرْنَا بِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تُقِدَمَ عَلَيْنَا بِثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فَقَالَ «قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ وَائِلُ بْنُ حُجْرٍ» ثُمَّ لَقِيتُهُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَرَحَّبَ بِي وأَدْنَا مَجْلِسِي وَبَسَطَ لِي رِدَاءَهُ فَأَجْلَسَنِي عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا فِي النَّاسِ فَاجْتَمَعُوا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ اطَّلَعَ الْمِنْبَرَ وأَطْلَعَنِي مَعَهُ فَأَنَا مِنْ دُونِهِ ثُمَّ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ هَذَا وَائِلُ بْنُ حُجْرٍ أَتَاكُمْ مِنْ بِلَادٍ بَعِيدَةٍ مِنْ بِلَادِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ طَائِعًا غَيْرَ مُكْرِهٍ بَقِيَّةُ أَبْنَاءِ الْمُلُوكِ بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيكَ يَا وَائِلُ وَفِي وَلَدِكَ وَفِي وَلَدِ وَلَدِكَ» ثُمَّ نَزَلَ وَأَنْزَلَنِي مَعَهُ وَأَنْزَلَنِي مَنْزِلًا شَاسَعًا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَمَرَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ أَنْ يُنْزِلَنِي إِيَّاهُ فَخَرَجْتُ وَخَرَجَ مَعِي حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ قَالَ يَا وَائِلُ إِنَّ الرَّمْضَاءَ قَدْ أَصَابَتْ بَاطِنَ قَدَمَيَّ فَأَرْدَفَنِي خَلْفَكَ قُلْتُ مَا أَضِنُّ عَنْكَ بِهَذِهِ النَّاقَةِ وَلَكِنْ لَسْتَ مِنْ أَرْدَافِ الْمُلُوكِ وَأَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُعَيَّرَ بِكَ قَالَ فَأَلْقِ إِلَيَّ حِذَاءَكَ أَتَوَقَّى بِهِ مِنْ حَرِّ الشَّمْسِ قَالَ مَا أَضِنُّ عَنْكَ بِهَاتَيْنِ الْجِلْدَتَيْنِ وَلَكِنْ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَلْبَسُ لِبَاسَ الْمُلُوكِ وَأَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُعَيَّرَ بِكَ فَلَمَّا أَرَدْتُ الرُّجُوعَ إِلَى قَوْمِي أَمَرَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِكُتُبٍ ثَلَاثَةٍ مِنْهَا كِتَابٌ لِي خَالِصٌ يُفَضِّلُنِي فِيهِ عَلَى قَوْمِي وَكِتَابٌ لِي وَلِأَهْلِ بَيْتِي بِأَمْوَالِنَا هُنَالِكَ وَبكِتَابٌ لِي وَلِقَوْمِي فِي كِتَابِي الْخَالِصِ بِسْمِ اللهِ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ إِلَى الْمُهَاجِرِ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ أَنَّ وَائِلًا يَسْتَسْعَى وَيَتَرَفَّلُ فِي الْأَقْبَالِ حَيْثُ كَانُوا مِنْ حَضْرَمَوْتَ وَفِي كِتَابِي الَّذِي لِي وَلِأَهْلِ بَيْتِي بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ إِلَى الْمُهَاجِرِ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ لِأَبْنَاءِ مَعْشَرٍ وَأَبْنَاءِ ضِمْعَاجٍ أَقْيَالُ شَنُوءَةَ بِمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مِنْ مُلْكٍ ومَرَاهِنَ وَعِمْرَانَ وَبَحْرٍ وَمِلْحٍ وَمَحْجَرٍ وَمَا كَانَ مِنْ مَالٍ أَترَّثُوهُ وَمَاءٍ يَنَابِعَ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِيهَا مِنْ مَالٍ بِحَضْرَمَوْتَ أَعْلَاهَا وأَسْفَلَهَا عَلَى الذِّمَّةِ وَالْجِوَارِ اللهُ لَهُمْ جَارٌ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ أَنْصَارٌ وَفِي الْكِتَابِ الَّذِي لِي وَلِقَوْمِي بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ إِلَى وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ وَالْأَقْوَالُ الْعَيَاهِلَةِ مِنْ حَضْرَمَوْتَ بإِقامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ مِنَ الصِّرْمَةِ التَّبِعَةِ وَلِصَاحِبِهَا الثِّيمَةُ لَا جَلَبَ وَلَا جَنَبَ وَلَا شِغَارَ وَلَا وِرَاطَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لِكُلِّ عَشَرَةٍ مِنَ السَّرَايَا مَا يَحْمِلُ الْقِرَابُ مِنَ التَّمْرِ مِنْ أَجْبَا فَقَدْ أَرْبَى وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ فَلَمَّا مَلَكَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بَعَثَ رَجُلًا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ بُسْرُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ وَقَالَ لَهُ لَقَدْ ضَمَمْتَ إِلَيْكَ النَّاحِيَةَ فَاخْرَجْ بِجَيْشِكَ فَإِذَا خَلَّفْتَ أَفْوَاهَ الشَّامِ فَضَعْ سَيْفَكَ فَاقْتُلْ مَنْ أَبَى بَيْعَتِي حَتَّى تَصِيرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ثُمَّ ادْخُلِ الْمَدِينَةَ فَاقْتُلْ مَنْ أَبَى بَيْعَتِي ثُمَّ اخْرُجْ إِلَى حَضْرَمَوْتَ فَاقْتُلْ مَنْ أَبَى بَيْعَتِي وَإِنْ أَصَبْتَ وَائِلَ بْنَ حُجْرٍ حَيًّا فَائْتِنِي بِهِ فَفَعَلَ فَأَصَابَ وَائِلَ بْنَ حُجْرٍ حَيًّا فَجَاءَ بِهِ إِلَيْهِ فَأَمَرَ مُعَاوِيَةُ أَنْ يَتَلَقَّى وَأَذِنَ لَهُ فَأَجْلَسَهُ مَعَهُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ أَسَرِيرِي هَذَا أَفْضَلُ أَمْ ظَهْرُ نَاقَتِكَ؟ قُلْتُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كُنْتُ حَدِيثَ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ وَكُفْرٍ وَكَانَتَ تِلْكَ سِيرَةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَقَدْ أَتَانَا اللهُ الْيَوْمَ بِالْإِسْلَامِ فَسِيرَةُ الْإِسْلَامِ مَا فَعَلْتَ قَالَ فَمَا مَنَعَكَ مِنْ نَصْرِنَا وَقَدِ اتَّخَذَكَ عُثْمَانُ ثِقَةً وَصِهْرًا؟ قُلْتُ إِنَّكَ قَاتَلْتَ رَجُلًا هُوَ أَحَقُّ بِعُثْمَانَ مِنْكَ قَالَ فَكَيْفَ يَكُونُ أَحَقَّ بِعُثْمَانَ مِنِّي فَأَنَا أَقْرَبُ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بالنَّسَبِ؟ قُلْتُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ آخَا بَيْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَعُثْمَانَ وَالْأَخُ أَوْلَى مِنِ ابْنِ الْعَمِّ وَلَسْتُ أُقَاتِلُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ قَالَ أَوَلَسْنَا مُهَاجِرِينَ؟ قُلْتُ أَوَلَيْسَ قَدِ اعْتَزَلْنَاكُمَا جَمِيعًا؟ وَحُجَّةٌ أُخْرَى حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَقَدْ حَضَرَهُ جَمْعٌ كَثِيرٌ ثُمَّ رَدَّ إِلَيْهِ بَصَرَهُ فَقَالَ «أَتَتْكُمُ الْفِتَنُ كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ فَشَدَّ أَمْرَهَا وَعَجَّلَهُ وَقَبَّحَهُ» قُلْتُ لَهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْقَوْمِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا الْفِتَنُ؟ قَالَ «يَا وَائِلُ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ سَيْفَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَاعْتَزِلْهُمَا» فَقَالَ أَصْبَحْتَ شِيعِيًّا فَقُلْتُ لَا وَلَكِنْ أَصْبَحْتُ نَاصِحًا لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَوْ سَمِعْتُ ذَا وَعَلِمْتُهُ مَا أَقْدَمْتُكَ قُلْتُ أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ رَأَيْتَ مَا صَنَعَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ عِنْدَ مَقْتَلِ عُثْمَانَ أَوْمَأَ بِسَيْفِهِ إِلَى صَخْرَةٍ فَضَرَبَهُ بِهَا حَتَّى انْكَسَرَ؟ قَالَ أُولَئِكَ قَوْمٌ يَحْمِلُونَ عَلَيْنَا قُلْتُ فَكَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ بِقَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحَبَّ الْأَنْصَارَ فَبِحُبِّي وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمْ فَبِبُغْضِي؟ فَقَالَ اخْتَرْ أَيَّ الْبِلَادِ شِئْتَ فَإِنَّكَ لَسْتَ بِرَاجِعٍ إِلَى حَضْرَمَوْتَ فَقُلْتُ عَشِيرَتِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلُ بَيْتِي بِالْكُوفَةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ عَشَرَةٍ مِنْ عَشِيرَتَكَ فَقُلْتُ مَا رَجَعْتُ إِلَى حَضْرَمَوْتَ سُرُورًا بِهَا وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُهَاجِرِ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي هَاجَرَ مِنْهُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِلَّةٍ قَالَ وَمَا عِلَّتُكَ؟ قُلْتُ قَوْلُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْفِتَنِ «فَحَيْثُ اخْتَلَفْتُمِ اعْتَزْلَنَاكُمْ وَحَيْثُ اجْتَمَعْتُمْ جِئْنَاكُمْ» فَهَذِهِ الْعِلَّةُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ وَلَّيْتُكَ الْكُوفَةَ فَسِرْ إِلَيْهَا فَقُلْتُ مَا إِلَيَّ بَعْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لِأَحَدٍ أَمَا رَأَيْتَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَدْ أَرَادَنِي فَأَبَيْتُ وَأَرَادَنِي عُمَرُ فَأَبَيْتُ وَأَرَادَنِي عُثْمَانُ فَأَبَيْتُ وَلَمْ أَدَعْ بَيْعَتَهُمْ قَدْ جَاءَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حَيْثُ ارْتَدَّ أَهْلُ نَاحِيتِنَا فَقُمْتُ فِيهِمْ حَتَّى رَدَّهُمُ اللهُ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ بِغَيْرِ وِلَايَةٍ فَدَعَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنَ أُمِّ الْحَكَمِ فَقَالَ لَهُ سِرْ فَقَدْ وَلَّيْتُكَ الْكُوفَةَ وَسِرْ بوائلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ فَأَكْرِمْهُ وأَقْضِ حَوَائِجَهُ فَقَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَسَأْتَ فِيَّ الظَّنِّ تَأْمُرُنِي بِإِكْرَامِ رَجُلٍ قَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكْرَمَهُ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَأَنْتَ قَالَ فَسِرْ بِمَعْرِفَةِ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَدِمَ مَعَهُ  

[Machine] I attended the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a container with water was brought to him. He rinsed his right hand three times, then immersed his right hand in the container and poured the water on his left hand three times. Then he immersed his left hand in the water and took a handful of water, rinsed his mouth, inhaled it, and blew it out three times. Then he put his hands in the container, took water, washed his face three times, rinsed his beard, wiped the inside of his ears, then inserted his pinky finger into his ear to reach the water. He wiped his neck and the inside of his beard with water from his face, then washed his right arm three times, including beyond the elbow, and washed the left arm in the same way, until he passed the elbow. Then he wiped his head three times, wiped the outside of his ears, wiped his neck and the inside of his beard with water from his head, then washed his right foot three times, including in between the toes, and rubbed his fingers with water, and went beyond the ankle with the water. Then he did the same with the left foot, then he took a handful of water with his right hand and poured it over his head until it trickled down the sides of his head, and he said, "This completes the ablution." Then he entered the prayer area, and the people stood behind him. He looked to his right and left, then raised his hands while saying the takbeer until his earlobes were reached. He then placed his right hand over his left hand on his chest, and said the praise quietly until he finished, then said Ameen loudly, so that those behind him could hear. Then he recited another chapter along with the praise, then raised his hands with the takbeer until his earlobes were reached.  

حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ أُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَأَكْفَأَ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ غَمَسَ يَمِينَهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَأَفَاضَ بِهَا عَلَى الْيُسْرَى ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ غَمَسَ الْيُمْنَى فِي الْمَاءِ فَحَفَنَ حَفْنَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ فَتَمَضْمَضَ بِهَا واسْتَنْشَقَ واسْتَنْثَرَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ كَفَّيْهِ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَحَمَلَ بِهِمَا مَاءً فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ وَمَسَحَ بَاطِنَ أُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ خِنْصَرَهُ فِي دَاخِلِ أُذُنِهِ لِيُبَلِّغَ الْمَاءَ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَقَبَتَهُ وَبَاطِنَ لِحْيَتَهُ مِنْ فَضْلِ مَاءِ الْوَجْهِ وَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا حَتَّى مَا وَرَاءَ الْمِرْفَقِ وَغَسَلَ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ بِالْيُمْنَى حَتَّى جَاوَزَ الْمِرْفَقَ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا وَمَسَحَ ظَاهَرَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ رُقْبَتَهُ وَبَاطِنَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِفَضْلِ مَاءِ الرَّأْسِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ قَدَمَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا وَخَلِّلَ أَصَابِعَهَا وَجَاوَزَ بِالْمَاءِ الْكَعْبَ وَرَفَعَ فِي السَّاقِ الْمَاءَ ثُمَّ فَعَلَ فِي الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ حَفْنَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى فَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ حَتَّى تَحَدَّرَ مِنْ جَوَانِبِ رَأْسِهِ وَقَالَ «هَذَا تَمَامُ الْوُضُوءِ» فَدَخَلَ مِحْرَابَهُ فَصَفَّ النَّاسَ خَلْفَهُ وَنَظَرَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَيَسارِهِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ إِلَى أَنْ حَازَتَا شَحْمَةَ أُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَمِينَهُ عَلَى يَسَارِهِ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ ثُمَّ جَهَرَ بِالْحَمْدِ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنَ الْحَمْدِ ثُمَّ جَهَرَ بِآمِينَ عِنْدَ فَرَاغِهِ مِنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْحَمْدِ حَتَّى سَمِعَ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ سُورَةً أُخْرَى مَعَ الْحَمْدِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ إِلَى أَنْ حَازَتَا شَحْمَةَ أُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ انْحَطَّ رَاكِعًا فَوَضَعَ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَفَرَّجَ أَصَابِعَهُ وَأَمْهَلَ فِي الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى اعْتَدَلَ رُكُوعُهُ وَصَارَ مُتَنَاهُ كَأَنَّهُمَا نَهَرٌ جَارٍ لَوْ وُضِعَ عَلَيْهِ قَدَحٌ مَلْآنُ مَا انْكَفَأَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ بِالْخُشُوعِ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى حَازَتَا شَحْمَةَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَقَالَ «سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ» ثُمَّ اعْتَدَلَ قَائِمًا وأَمْهَلَ فِيهِ حَتَّى رَجَعَ كُلُّ عَظْمٍ إِلَى مَوْضِعِهِ ثُمَّ انْحَطَّ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ سَاجِدًا فَأَثْبَتَ جَبْهَتَهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَأَنْفَهُ حَتَّى رَأَى أَثَرَ أَنْفِهِ فِي الرَّمْلِ وَفَرَشَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ وَرَأْسَهُ بَيْنَهُمَا ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ وَجَلَسَ جِلْسَةً خَفِيفَةً فَاسْتَبْطَنَ فَخِذَهُ الْيُسْرَى وَنَصَبَ قَدَمَهُ الْيُمْنَى أَثْبَتَ أَصَابِعَهُمَا ثُمَّ انْحَطَّ سَاجِدًا مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ ثُمَّ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي جَمِيعِ الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى تَمَّتْ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ فَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَخَفَضَ فَخِذَهُ وَحَلَّقَ أُصْبُعَهُ يَدْعُو بِهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الثَّوْبِ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي الشِّتَاءِ وَكَانَ أَصْحَابُهُ خَلْفَهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ فِي ثِيَابِهِمْ يَعْمَلُونَ هَذَا وَتَنَفَّلَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ حَتَّى رُؤِيَ بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ حَتَّى رُؤِيَ بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ الْأَيْسَرِ  

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ was brought a bucket of water, and he drank from it, then he dipped it in the bucket, and poured it into the well or drank from the bucket and then poured it into the well, and a fragrance like musk emanated from it."  

«أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِدَلْوٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ مَجَّ فِي الدَّلْوِ ثُمَّ صَبَّ فِي الْبِئْرِ أَوْ شَرِبَ مِنَ الدَّلْوِ ثُمَّ مَجَّ فِي الْبِئْرِ فَفَاحَ مِنْهَا مِثْلُ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ»  

[Machine] "He saw the Prophet ﷺ being brought a water jug, so he performed ablution from it, then gargled and spit inside it the musk or something more fragrant than musk, and he sprinkled it outside."  

أَنَّهُ «رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِدَلْوٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ فَمَضْمَضَ ثُمَّ مَجَّ فِيهِ الْمِسْكَ أَوْ أَطْيَبَ مِنَ الْمِسْكِ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ خَارِجَهُ»  

[Machine] "Do not fast while traveling during Ramadan. Whoever fasts, should make up for it." Abu Al-Fayad said, "I met Abu Qirsaftah and asked him. He said, 'If you fasted and then fasted again and then fasted again, you would not have completed it.'"  

لَا تَصُومُوا فِي السَّفَرِ رَمَضَانَ فَمَنْ صَامَ فَلْيَقْضِهِ قَالَ أَبُو الْفَيْضِ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ لَوْ صُمْتَ ثُمَّ صُمْتَ ثُمَّ صُمْتَ مَا قَضَيْتَهُ  

[Machine] "May you be in good health, O son of my brother."  

بِخَيْرٍ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي  

[Machine] I met Wathila on the day of Eid, so I said, "May Allah accept from us and from you." He replied, "Yes, may Allah accept from us and from you."  

لَقِيتُ وَاثِلَةَ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ فَقُلْتُ تَقَبَّلَ اللهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ تَقَبَّلَ اللهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ  

[Machine] "Do not pray behind him, as for me, if I had prayed behind him, I would have repeated my prayers."  

«لَا تُصَلِّ خَلْفَهُ أَمَّا أَنَا لَوْ كُنْتُ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَهُ لَأَعَدْتُ صَلَاتِي»  

[Machine] Translation: "Wathilah ibn al-Asqa' passed away at the age of 88."  

«تُوُفِّيَ وَاثِلَةُ بْنُ الْأَسْقَعِ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَثَمَانِينَ سِنُّهُ ثَمَانٍ وَتِسْعُونَ سَنَةً»  

[Machine] Wathila ibn al-Asqa' passed away in the year eighty-three, at the age of one hundred and five years.  

«تُوُفِّيَ وَاثِلَةُ بْنُ الْأَسْقَعِ فِي سَنَةِ ثَلَاثٍ وَثَمَانِينَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مِائَةٍ وَخَمْسِ سِنِينَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not show joy at the misfortune of your brother, for Allah may grant him recovery and put you to test."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تُظْهِرِ الشَّمَاتَةَ لِأَخِيكَ فَيُعَافِيَهِ اللهُ وَيَبْتَلِيَكَ»  

[Machine] Narrated to us a hadith that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that contains no falsehood, additions, or forgetfulness. He said, "Has anyone of you recited anything from the Quran tonight?" We said, "Yes, but we are not strong in memorization." He said, "So this Quran is written among you, do not neglect its preservation while you claim that you add and subtract. So how about the hadiths that we heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? Perhaps we have only heard them once. It is enough for you if we narrate to you the meaning of the hadith."  

حَدِّثْنَا بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ فِيهِ وَهْمٌ وَلَا تَزِيُّدٌ وَلَا نِسْيَانُ قَالَ هَلْ قَرَأَ أَحَدُكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْئًا فَقُلْنَا نَعَمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُ بِالْحَافِظِينَ جِدًّا إِنَّا لَنَزِيدُ الْوَاوَ وَالْأَلِفَ ونُنْقِصُ قَالَ فَهَذَا الْقُرْآنُ مَكْتُوبٌ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ لَا تَأْلُونَ حِفْظَهُ وَأَنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّكُمْ تَزِيدُونَ وتَنْقُصُونَ فَكَيْفَ بِأَحَادِيثَ سَمِعْنَاهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَسَى أَنْ لَا يَكُونَ سَمِعْنَاهَا مِنْهُ إِلَّا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً حَسْبُكُمْ إِذَا مَا حَدَّثْنَاكُمْ بِالْحَدِيثِ عَلَى الْمَعْنَى  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever sells a faulty item, without disclosing its defects, will remain under the anger of Allah, and the angels will continue to curse him."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ بَاعَ عَيْبًا لَمْ يُسَمِّهِ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي غَضِبِ اللهِ وَلَمْ تَزَلِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تَلْعَنُهُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People will be mobilized into armies: an army in Yemen, an army in Sham (Syria), an army in the East, and an army in the West." A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a young man, and perhaps I will live to see that. Which one do you command me to join?" He replied, "You should go to Sham, as it is the chosen land of Allah, where He sends the best of His servants. You should go to Sham, for Allah has taken care of me and its people. So, whoever refuses, let him follow his own desires."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُجَنَّدُ النَّاسُ أَجْنَادًا جُنْدٌ بِالْيَمَنِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالشَّامِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْمَشْرِقِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْمَغْرِبِ» قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي فَتًى شَابٌّ فَلَعَلِّي أُدْرِكُ ذَلِكَ فَأَيَّ ذَلِكَ تَأْمُرُنِي؟ قَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّهَا صَفْوَةُ اللهِ مِنْ بِلَادِهِ يَسُوقُ إِلَيْهَا صَفْوَتَهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَكَفَّلَ لِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلِهِ فَمَنْ أَبَى فَلْيَلْحَقْ بِيَمَنِهِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every building and ruin is a burden on its owner, except for this (referring to his palm) and every knowledge is a burden on its owner on the Day of Judgment, except for those who act upon it."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ بُنْيَانٍ وَبَالٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا» وَأَشَارَ بِكَفِّهِ «وَكُلُّ عَلْمٍ وَبَالٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا مَنْ عَمِلَ بِهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to come to us while we were merchants, and he would say, "O merchants, beware of lying."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ إِلَيْنَا وَكُنَّا تُجَّارًا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ «يَا مَعْشَرَ التُّجَّارِ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْكَذِبَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Stand in a row and let the one who is most excellent in prayer lead you, for Allah chooses from the angels and from the people."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اصْطَفُّوا وَلْيَتَقَدَّمْكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُكُمْ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يَصْطَفِي مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "A person should not wipe his forehead until he has finished his prayer, but it is permissible to wipe the sweat from his forehead. Indeed, the angels continue to pray for him as long as the mark of prostration is between his eyes."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَمْسَحُ الرَّجُلُ جَبْهَتَهُ حَتَّى يَفْرُغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ وَلَا بَأْسَ أَنْ يَمْسَحَ الْعَرَقَ عَنْ صُدْغَيْهِ فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ مَا دَامَ أَثَرُ السُّجُودِ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever insults a non-Muslim, he will be punished on the Day of Judgment with a whip of fire." So, I said to Mak'hul, "How severe is what is said?" He said, "He is called 'O son of a disbeliever'."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَذَفَ ذِمِّيًّا حُدَّ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِسِياطٍ مِنْ نَارٍ» فَقُلْتُ لِمَكْحُولٍ مَا أَشَدُّ مَا يُقَالُ قَالَ يُقَالُ لَهُ «يَا ابْنَ الْكَافِرِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Keep away your children, your crazy ones, your buying and selling, your disputes, your raised voices, your establishing of boundaries, and your sharpened swords, and place them in the congregation. And take the entrances of the mosques as your paths."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «جَنِّبُوا الْمَسَاجِدَ صِبْيَانَكُمْ وَمَجَانِينَكُمْ وَشِرَاءَكُمْ وَبِيَعَكُمْ وَخُصُومَاتِكُمْ وَرَفْعَ أَصْوَاتِكُمْ وَإِقَامَةَ حُدُودِكُمْ وَسَلَّ أَسْيَافِكُمْ وَجَمِّرُوهَا فِي الْجَمْعِ وَاتَّخِذُوا عَلَى أَبْوَابِهَا الْمَطَاهِرَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying to Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman and Muadh bin Jabal while they were consulting him in his house: "You should go to Sham, for it is the best of Allah's lands. The best of His creation live there. So, whoever dislikes it should join his right hand with my hand, and whoever dislikes it should drink from his deceit. Indeed, Allah has taken care of me and its people."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لِحُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَهُمَا يَسْتَشِيرَانِهِ فِي الْمَنْزِلِ فَأَوْمَى إِلَى الشَّامِ ثُمَّ سَأَلَاهُ فَأَوْمَى إِلَى الشَّامِ ثُمَّ سَأَلَاهُ فَأَوْمَى إِلَى الشَّامِ قَالَ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّهَا صَفْوَةُ بِلَادِ اللهِ يَسْكُنُهَا خِيرَتُهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ فَمَنْ أَبَى فَلْيَلْحَقْ بِيَمَنِهِ وَلْيَسْقِ مِنْ غُدُرِهِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَكَفَّلَ لِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلِهِ»  

[Machine] "Narrated to us a story that I heard from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He said, 'I heard Mu'adh and Hudhayfah consulting with the Prophet, ﷺ , in his house. He leaned towards them, leaning on the Sham (a region in Syria). Then he consulted them, leaning towards the Sham. Then he consulted them, leaning towards the Sham.' He said in the third time, 'Choose Sham, for it is the best of Allah's lands, and the best of His servants reside in it. Whoever refuses, let him join his left and drink its poison, for Allah has taken care of me and its people.'"  

حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاذًا وَحُذَيْفَةَ يَسْتَشِيرَانِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي الْمَنْزِلِ فَأَوْمَى إِلَيْهِمَا بِالشَّامِ ثُمَّ اسْتَشَارَاهُ فَأَوْمَى إِلَيْهِمَا بِالشَّامِ ثُمَّ اسْتَشَارَاهُ فَأَوْمَى إِلَيْهِمَا بِالشَّامِ قَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّهَا صَفْوَةُ بِلَادِ اللهِ يَسْكُنُهَا خِيرَتُهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَمَنْ أَبَى فَلْيَلْحَقْ بِيَمَنِهِ وَلْيَسْقِ بِغُدُرِهِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ تَكَفَّلَ لِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلِهِ»  

[Machine] "Narrated by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: The night of Al-Qadr is tranquility, neither hot nor cold, nor clouded, nor rainy, nor windy, and no shooting star would be seen in it. One of its signs is that the sun rises on that day but without rays."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ بَلْجَةٌ لَا حَارَّةٌ وَلَا بَارِدَةٌ وَلَا سَحَابَ فِيهَا وَلَا مَطَرَ وَلَا رِيحَ وَلَا يُرْمَى فِيهَا بِنَجْمٍ وَمِنْ عَلَامَةِ يَوْمَهَا تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ لَا شُعَاعَ لَهَا»  

[Machine] On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will raise a servant who has no sins and will ask him, "Which of the two is more beloved to you: that I should reward you based on your deeds or based on My blessings upon you?" The servant will respond, "O Lord, You know that I never disobeyed You." Allah will then command, "Take My servant with a blessing from My bounties, for there remains no good deed for him except that it has been engulfed by that blessing." The servant will say, "O Lord, it is by Your blessing and mercy." Allah will reply, "It is by My blessing and mercy." And then a righteous servant will be brought who has no apparent sins, and Allah will ask him, "Were you a neighbor to My allies?" The servant will respond, "I was a peacemaker among the people." Allah will ask, "Did you have enmity towards My enemies?" The servant will say, "O Lord, I had no enmity towards anyone." Allah will declare, "My mercy does not encompass those who do not befriend My allies and oppose My enemies."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَبْعَثُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَبْدًا لَا ذَنْبَ لَهُ فَيَقُولُ اللهُ بِأَيِّ الْأَمْرَيْنِ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكَ أَنْ أَجْزِيَكَ بِعَمَلِكَ أَوْ بِنِعْمَتِي عِنْدَكَ قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَعْصِكَ قَالَ خُذُوا عَبْدِي بِنِعْمَةٍ مِنْ نِعَمِي فَمَا تَبْقَى لَهُ حَسَنَةٌ إِلَّا اسْتَغْرَقَهَا تِلْكَ النِّعْمَةُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّ بِنِعْمَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ فَيَقُولُ بِنِعْمَتِي وَرَحْمَتِي وَيُؤْتَى بِعَبْدٍ مُحْسِنٍ فِي نَفْسِهِ لَا يُرَى أَنَّ لَهُ ذَنْبًا فَيَقُولُ لَهُ هَلْ كُنْتَ تَوَالِي أَوْلِيَائِي؟ قَالَ كُنْتُ لِلنَّاسِ سَلْمًا قَالَ فَهَلْ كُنْتَ تُعَادِي أَعْدَائِي؟ قَالَ يَا رَبِّ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ أَحَدٍ شَيْئًا فَيَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ لَا يَنَالُ رَحْمَتِي مَنْ لَا يُوَالِي أَوْلِيَائِي ويُعَادِي أَعْدَائِي  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Fasting is a shield and it is a fortress among the fortresses of the believer. And every action of a person is for himself, except for fasting, for it is for Me and I will reward it."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ وَهُوَ حِصْنٌ مِنْ حُصُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَكُلُّ عَمِلٍ لِصَاحِبِهِ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ يَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ الصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The worst gatherings are the markets and the roads, and the best gatherings are the mosques. So if you do not find a seat in the mosque, then stay in your homes."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «شَرُّ الْمَجَالِسِ الْأَسْوَاقُ وَالطُّرُقُ وَخَيْرُ الْمَجَالِسِ الْمَسَاجِدُ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجْلِسْ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَالْزَمْ بَيْتَكَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "The worst gatherings are the markets and roads, and the best gatherings are the mosques. So if you don't sit in the mosque, then stay in your house."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مِنْ شَرِّ الْمَجَالِسِ الْأَسْوَاقُ وَالطُّرُقُ وَخَيْرُ الْمَجَالِسِ الْمَسَاجِدُ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجْلِسْ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَالْزَمْ بَيْتَكَ»  

[Machine] A questioner asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "What is the reason that on the day of Friday the call to prayer is made for the Salah (prayer) in the middle of the day, while you have forbidden it on other days?" He replied, "Verily, Allah heats up Hellfire every day in the middle of the day and cools it down on the day of Friday."  

سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَا بَالُ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ يُؤَذَّنُ فِيهَا بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ وَقَدْ نَهَيْتَ عَنْ سَائِرِ الْأَيَّامِ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ يُسَعِّرُ جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ فِي نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ وَيُخْبِثُهَا فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not prevent the slaves of Allah from the favor of water and fire, as Allah has made them available for the strong and a source of strength for the weak."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَمْنَعُوا عِبَادَ اللهِ فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ وَالْكَلَأِ وَلَا نَارًا فَإِنَّ اللهَ جَعَلَهَا مُشَاعًا لِلْمُقْوِينَ وَقُوَّةً لِلَمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah sends the angels on the day of Friday to the doors of the mosques. They write down the names of the people who come first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth. When they reach the seventh, they are like those who gather around birds."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ يَبْعَثُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْمَسَاجِدِ يَكْتُبُونَ الْقَوْمَ الْأَوَّلَ وَالثَّانِيَ وَالثَّالِثَ وَالرَّابِعَ وَالْخَامِسَ وَالسَّادِسَ فَإِذَا بَلَغُوا السَّابِعَ كَانُوا بِمَنْزِلَةِ مَنْ قَرَّبَ الْعَصَافِيرَ»  

[Machine] "Our Messenger ﷺ commanded us to seek knowledge and understanding in religion."  

«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَتَفَقَّهَ فِي الدِّينِ»  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has commanded us not to shave our heads on the day of Friday before the imam comes out, and to face the qibla. We are also forbidden to shave our heads on the two Eids after the prayer."  

«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا نَتَحَلَّقُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ الْإِمَامِ وَلْيُقْبِلُوا عَلَى الْقِبْلَةِ وَلَا يَوْمَ الْعِيدَيْنِ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ»  

[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Khaybar, a meal was prepared for him. He reclined and then he stretched out when the sun hit him, so he wore a shade."  

«لَمَّا افْتَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ جُعِلَتْ لَهُ مَأْدُبَةٌ فَأَكَلَ مُتَّكِئًا وأَطْلَى فَأَصَابَتْهُ الشَّمْسُ فَلَبِسَ الظُّلَّةَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should say 'I have spilled the water', but rather let him say 'I have released it'."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَهْرَقْتُ الْمَاءَ وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ أَبُولُ»  

[Machine] When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would place a deceased person in their grave, he would say, "In the name of Allah and according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," and place a piece of cloth behind his head, another between his shoulders, one between his knees, and another behind him.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْمَيِّتُ فِي قَبْرِهِ قَالَ «بِسْمِ اللهِ وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَوَضَعَ خَلْفَ قَفَاهُ مَدَرَةً وَبَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ مَدَرَةً وَبَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَمِنْ وَرَائِهِ أُخْرَى»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You should eat pumpkin because it increases brain function, and you should eat lentils because they were praised by seventy prophets."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْقَرْعِ فَإِنَّهُ يَزِيدُ فِي الدِّمَاغِ وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْعَدَسِ فَإِنَّهُ قُدِّسَ عَلَى لِسَانِ سَبْعِينَ نَبِيًّا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Lesbianism among women is adultery between them."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «السِّحَاقُ بَيْنَ النِّسَاءِ زِنًا بَيْنَهُنَّ»
