[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and urged us to give charity. The people seemed reluctant, until anger was seen on his face. He said it a few more times, until a man from the Ansar came with a pile of goods and gave it as charity. Then people followed suit and started giving until happiness was seen on his face. He said, "Whoever starts a good tradition will have its reward and the reward of those who do it, without any decrease in their rewards. And whoever starts an evil tradition, will bear its burden and the burden of those who do it, without any decrease in their burdens." He said this, referring to Abu Mu'awiyah, without decreasing their burdens.

ahmad:19204Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ismāʿīl > Qays > Lī Jarīr b. ʿAbdullāh

Messenger of Allah ﷺs said to me, "Will you relieve me from Dhul-Khalasa? Dhul-Khalasa was a house (of an idol) belonging to the tribe of Khath'am called Al-Kaʿba Al-Yama-niya. So, I proceeded with one hundred and fifty cavalry men from the tribe of Ahmas, who were excellent knights. It happened that I could not sit firm on horses, so the Prophet ﷺ , stroke me over my chest till I saw his finger-marks over my chest, he said, 'O Allah! Make him firm and make him a guiding and rightly guided man.' " Jarir proceeded towards that house, and dismantled and burnt it. Then he sent a messenger to Allah's Apostle informing him of that. Jarir's messenger said, "By Him Who has sent you with the Truth, I did not come to you till I had left it like an emancipated or gabby camel (i.e. completely marred and spoilt)." Jarir added, "The Prophet ﷺ asked for Allah's Blessings for the horses and the men of Ahmas five times." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3020)

We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a full moon night. He looked at the moon and said, "You will certainly see your Lord as you see this moon, and there will be no trouble in seeing Him. So if you can avoid missing (through sleep, business, etc.) a prayer before the rising of the sun (Fajr) and before its setting (ʿAsr) you must do so. He (the Prophet ﷺ ) then recited the following verse: And celebrate the praises Of Your Lord before The rising of the sun And before (its) setting." (50.39) (Using translation from Bukhārī 573)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah sent me to Yemen, where I met two men named Kalaa' and Amr. I informed them of some news from the Messenger of Allah. Then we set off and came across a group traveling from Madinah. We asked them what the news was, and they said that the Messenger of Allah had passed away and Abu Bakr had been appointed as his successor, and the people are righteous. They asked me to inform my companion about this, so they turned back. Later, I met Amr again, and he said, "O Jarir, as long as you continue to have a good leader and then appoint another one after him peacefully, everything will be fine. But if conflicts arise and you resort to the sword, you will face the anger of the kings and be pleased with the pleasure of the kings."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Will you not relieve me of the Zul-Khalsah house in Khath'am, which was worshipped in the era of ignorance and was called Ka'bah Al-Yamaniyyah?" He said, "So we went to it with fifty and one hundred riders." He said, "So we destroyed it or set it on fire until we left it like a tamed camel." He said, "Then Jarir was sent to the Prophet ﷺ to give him the good news about this." He said, "So when he came to him, he said, 'By the One who has sent you with the truth, O Messenger of Allah, I did not come to you until we left it like a tamed camel'." He said, "So the Prophet ﷺ blessed Ahmas and its horses and men five times." He said, "I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I am a man who is not skilled in riding horses,' so he placed his hand on my face until I felt its coolness, and he said, 'O Allah, make him a guide and a guided one'."

"We were seated with the Prophet ﷺ when he looked towards the moon on the night of a full moon and said: "Indeed you shall be placed before your Lord and you shall see Him as you see this moon. You will see Him without trouble. So if you are able to keep from becoming overwhelmed from prayer before the rising of the sun and before its setting, then do so." Then he recited: And glorify the praises of your Lord before the setting." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2551)
